[Music] spring out easy peasy so my customers showed up today with these hey guys welcome back to the channel so what we're doing is we're building the ultimate over landing vw vanigan ah cool we got a cool from the background uh we got all sorts of goodies we got a lift kit with fox shocks whoo springs we got spacers this call comes from uh go westy we have uh super beefy cv shafts that i found out i have to build we got fancy new wheels and we have off-road general grabbers oh yeah we got it we're gonna install this on this i'm gonna have you along for the ride we're gonna do a bunch of other things too and guess what else we're doing a subaru swapping this yep that's right we're putting a subaru engine in this i know it's done before but i mean has it been done to this extent we are just throwing everything at this thing we're going to build a custom rock slider down the side this is going to be badass right kev that's right more enthusiasm right kev it's still 11. it's only 11. that's all we get that's all we get out of him maybe he's a monster drink i could use one hey guys let's grab kevin monster drink wait what one do you want tutti frutti what is it um tropical paradise let's go original uh yeah uh breeze something something breeze like punch pipeline punch that's his favorite anybody wants to send kev some some energy just uh send it over his way anyways so yeah so we're gonna get to it uh i pulled the motor already i'll show you guys a little bit of that it wasn't it wasn't pretty it's a water boxer they're no fun the whole kit for the engine's over there hiding in the other side of the shop but we're gonna do the lift kit first since the engine's out there's more room in there we're gonna put the off-road tires on do wheels yeah so let's do it let's get to it hopefully that doesn't roll off of there and uh let's go put some whoa there she goes there she goes there she goes let's put a lift in this bad boy cool let's go near 2000s the name of this tire see that it's the super van 356 i love the name yokohamas so we got to remove this spring and this shock and it's really not that hard once we get the shock out we'll be able to push this down and pull the spring out let's get to taking the shock out there we go that's all the way out now we're just gonna get the bottom let's get some of this dirt off of there let's just shake [Music] just got to get my tool back taking it take it alive there we go now the best part is you just pull this down look at that spring out easy peasy probably actually i wonder i bet since i have this transmission lower i bet i can get this new spring in there pretty easily i'll blow some of that off with air and kind of get some of that dirt out of there give me a sec you guys need a little there we go there you're clean now too perfect now we can get this shock out of here now there's no tension on it take that out of there and uh let's see oh she's still good she's still still good still good we're just gonna see if we can fit this in there without there is a uh up and down to this uh spring even though they don't look like it but um if you look on here look up whip thanks go westy see if we can get this it might be easier to put that on there push this down i think i can get maybe i can get a little help from the kev the cab dog hey kev yeah you want to help me real quick yep here he comes so excited just uh pull down on that drum i'm gonna try to get this in there like hard look at that okay hold on spin that so that sits in there right all right let go all right there we go there you have it we're looking at this right now it shouldn't be like that but once you put load on it it's going to stay and it's going to go up even further so there's absolutely no load on it really all right we got the top bolt threaded in now we just got to get this up in there yeah we're going to need some help from the jack stand over here call this steve's replacement joker inside joke he used to have a guy working for me his name steve this was his replacement for a while there we go that's not going anywhere that we're good now perfect much better all right now we'll go over the other side all right let's lower this down and see uh how much higher we are of course there's no engine in here so it's going to be a little higher than it's exciting you guys see that you're getting excited i am that spring's going to see might make some noise wow it's got quite the rake you guys see that moving on to the front to lift the front it's gonna be a little harder do not grease these this is so bad you can't get proper torque on that's a lot of grease all right all right i'll get you guys in here you see this uh mess we have to deal with here all right sorry about the noise i have the door open it's beautiful outside i don't know if you guys see that kev's out there enjoying his lunch there he is see this monster drink which one is it tutti frutti hold it up let's see it what we got watermelon so we have to take out the ball joint these two bolts bolts come out we'll lube that up give it about an hour to soak same with this we got to take out the sway bar link here as well and that's up underneath here that's going to come out and then this will swing out of the way and then we got the bolt that holds the that's actually you can't see that we'll show you on this side the bolt that holds the shock in there and then we got one up here that probably doesn't want to move either so we'll get this first so we'll lube all this up clean up all that mud get that out of there and let it soak for a while and then pull that apart all right sorry about the noise to get the sandblaster going but i'm sure you guys can hear me and the compressor will probably kick on but these bolts are pretty rusty but they're coming out and i had to really jam that in there yeah it's all like one part now i'm gonna go over the vice and knock that off and then we'll get that one going that one actually came out better i got new bolts for this with the kit because there's a spacer that goes in here so now this can lift right out let me get the spring out of here all right we're gonna try to get this off without hopefully that actually not spinning i'm surprised all right i got the strut compressor on there now we get this bolt out we got the spring compressed once we get this shock out we should pull the spring out because right now this shocks in the way all right we're gonna blast this guy off here that's free now that should come right out we got it it just kind of jammed in there off to the side a little bit now we'll get that spring out of there get that pretty tight in there i hate these things this just creep me out a little bit when you undo them don't just undo one side you want to do one side and a little bit and then go over the other side super dangerous all right so we got that to got the uh spring out everything's loose we're gonna have to really compress the next one is i'll show you over here sorry about the sound again the noise this is uh this is how much height difference we got a little beepie of a spring too this is thicker so this is gonna actually not compress as much when it's in the vehicle so that's we got to compress the heck out of that thing that should be fun hopefully we can get it in there let's uh start compressing all right we got that spring in there we got the spring compressor out now we got to put this spacer this is the spacer that goes he gives you for this lift so it comes with the extended bolts to go through here because it's going to lift this up and this fits right in here i had to put a jack stand underneath here as you can see it's right there just to get the spring to kind of to get that compress a little bit it still needs a seed into its perch down here and i'm sure once we set the whole bust down you'll hear it springing and banging and clanging i'm gonna put the nerve 2000s on spring scare me hitting me nervous all right we got that one in if we can get that one just to go in for now and get the other one tightened up so that seems to be working pulling this in getting that in there tight on the one side help line up the other that should thread into there now yep there we go we have it should be all in we'll get this uh this link back i might leave this loose actually just because i wanna i might take the whole thing right off because really in my way on the other side um when i did this so i'd just rather take it off and i mean it's almost there anyways so yeah so that's all in let me show you guys so that's the spacer here the aluminum spacer it's like an inch maybe an inch and a half probably about an inch and a quarter or so and then they give you the longer bolts that come through here i just fed this one down in as you saw to get it to line up and it pulled it up in there this makes it so it doesn't change the geometry so you don't need to change out your uh brake line or you know anything else with the suspension so it just pushes it down enough yeah so we're pretty much done we just got to put the shock in so we'll put the shock in it's shocking it's shocking that we're going to put the shock in we'll get that in now that we have this all kind of up in the air and we'll be done with this side and we'll rinse and repeat on the other all right i'm gonna put this shock in there gonna be so shocking [Music] of course i just dropped the nut that holds it on the top on the floor where is the top of the nut there it is i'm just gonna spin that on there just lightly that way it holds it on there so i don't lose it and send the nut through i mean the bolt all right i got the bottom nut through just gonna hand tighten that i almost forgot the uh the rubber mount for the shock looks like we gotta lift this up again to get this shock compressed to give us a little more room this is uh he's gonna watch this make sure it doesn't come up off the lift but getting a little bit of compression on this we need more of the top of the shock to come out of here she's starting to lift up on the lift so maybe we have enough now we got it and we're just going to tighten this up well that's officially done that was a rough one tell you lift kit rear is easy front a lot of work now that's sitting in there really flat i like how that's sitting in there now the spring was kind of bulging out the one side but once it sits down in the perch here there's a little bit it needs to kind of move around a little bit and sit in there it will it will settle now we get to do the other side yay and then just set her down on the ground see what she looks like i'm excited so my customers showed up today with these said hey i forgot i gotta put these on so i didn't even know he had these we got to do all new bushings lower control arm bushings uh sway bar bushings a bunch of these giggly bits here we have all this to do now we got all the springs are in rear you saw that here's the front so right now i'm working on getting this out we'll undo this again pull that out the spring's finally seated looks like it seated overnight it uh it is the next day it's the next day if we don't get this done we're going to lose the shop okay and then the other side over here i didn't actually finish putting this back together i ended up taking a caliper off we're doing new calipers anyways we'll do a separate video probably undoing the brakes on this the big big brake upgrade but this is get what's going to get replaced this piece here it's all disconnected so i just got to get that out and it sounds simple but not a lot of room in here hopefully we can slide the bolt out and get these out and put the new control arm in so we're gonna get to that right now all right this is a 14 millimeter in here uh and then we got a 19 millimeter here hopefully this comes undone here this is pretty rusty there we go let's get it started here can't get in here with any especially tools so you gotta use your finger nice and loose but now i'm gonna get that nut out of there and that could be a problem so you gotta slide that through and out over here let's set that there we go pieces and parts falling everywhere right now there we go got that off we'll get the new one on make sure you put this in i was just showing you slide this in right side up there's no right and left to them get that out of there put the new one in there that comes with the kit spin this around oops hold on one second another spacer that comes with the kit goes on that side slide this in here like this kind of angle it back get it started and then let me have to kind of a tight fit with these spacers here super tight perfect hopefully that will go through that piece there all right we got it in that far now we just gotta spin the spacer to get it to line up with if you get the socket in the end of it you can get it to spin it'll slide it a lot better and then we're just gonna [Music] [Music] now we just need to spin that again there we go we got it perfect this is gonna go on there there we go that's in i'm just gonna put a nut on there and tighten her up i'm gonna see if it came with a new nut i don't know if it did i don't think it did did not come with a new nut but we will just use this 19 and then that bolt through there and i have to get a socket on that and run out of room real quick here nice just have a grease fittings on the top there we go she's installed perfect now we'll go over the other side now that we know how to do that one all right we got it outside we got the lousy tires on it i still haven't changed those over we'll get that in the next video but as you guys can see if you look up underneath here it's got the lift there's no engine in it right now so the rear end's really high the fox shocks are in there the new springs i did all new bushings uh sway bar links all that is all new you can see the burley motorsports uh control arm in there adjusted to where it needs to be right now new bushings up here new bushings there and we also did the control arm bushings as well uh they were kind of a pain but not a big deal had to drill them out and we'll come around to the other side yeah she's a little bit up she's not the prettiest girl but you know just get some height now a lot of money in suspension that's for sure see that no we gotta found it then over here he has a lot of them in this so it looks pretty good it's sitting a lot higher about two inches i think there you have it the vanigan with a two-wheel drive with a 1.5 to two inch lift so we're gonna end it here for now uh we're gonna be doing the subaru swap in this uh the full engine the whole build the whole kit everything we're gonna go through it with you guys so you see how it's done we'll get the tires on this that's gonna look a lot better with the tires we're gonna be doing some custom rock guards here cover up that area there to protect that and on the other side as well and repair that dent that's in that door so this is going to be quite the project we're going to be working on it for about the next two weeks or so maybe three weeks depending on what we run into we're always running some problems but again guys thanks so much for watching and uh we'll see you next time all right take care
