well hello there everybody dre here and today we're gonna terraform the whole freaking universe because we're playing heliopedia this is a new game developed by softpop i'm a huge fan of their little indie games and uh i want to check this one out because it seems like it's directly up my alley so yeah basically in this one from what i understand we use chemistry to design planets and whatnot and uh yeah we just explore the cosmos and see what kind of shenanigans we can get into um rotate using mouse button our first planet i was like who's snoring the whole freaking planet is snoring he looks so sad all right let's wake him up what's going on man what do i want i don't know what to do i'm just clicking you because it's all i can freaking do all right um yes you're finally here welcome to my solar system is this the sun oh dude this is the sun it's gonna be a good start yes it is okay since you're here could you get me some coal where the hell am i supposed to get cold right now three coals should be good all right so our first job is to get the coal for mr sun great oh you can find coal in the asteroid fields around here thanks for telling me that all right so the warm looking things are asteroid belt so i guess we'll head over to this one and oh my god you just collect everything yeah you can just collect everything so we need coal which one of these little things are coal guess we'll take some ice with us you never know when we're gonna need some i can't seem to grab the coal oh there it is i thought the brown would be cool that makes more sense the dark one's cold so we'll grab a bunch of that all right bud i got you your oh look at him he wants it so bad it's like a baby all right here you go man need to spit so that's how planets are made okay well intar i guess we'll start with you it's a barren wasteland uh pressure is zero bars climate seven degrees celsius not bad what do we do here we'll throw some coal on it see what happens what if i throw ice on coal it just pushes it out of the way i like that it's got its own gravitational field i don't know what i'm doing yet i'm assuming i got to uh give this thing natural resources and hopefully it will turn into a habitable planet can i see what these things are no where'd my oh my god did the ice melt so what if we put a crapload of ice on here oh my god it does actually melt there we go we're getting atmosphere now dude this is cool i'm i'm digging this oh that's a puddle okay so i have to click to like id things humidity's going up that's good i think all right looking at our heliopedia we have a bunch of new things this kind of shows how much stuff there is so there's obsidian iron ore sand i wonder if we got to figure out how to make these obviously a bunch of plants and whatnot this is actually remarkably in-depth i want to see if we can actually get some animals today that would be cool oh those aren't animals those are critters because critters are not animals ladies and gentlemen so we can get giraffes jesus chickens ducks brown bears looks like there's a bunch of different things in this game and it looks like i can make money even batteries interesting okay so let's get back to the planet here i'm gonna go back out and see if we can get any more resources maybe further out and like asteroid rings for example no it's just ice oxygen and coal again okay it's raining now so that's good um rain means we might be able to get some sort of plants i need fertility to go up though so climate needs to go up so i'm thinking if we add coal does that make the climate go up at all well i'm really good at making a very cold climate that's what i'm quickly realizing with this game negative 35 so yeah water makes it colder all right so talking with the sun he's opening his own shop for every new discovery you get one star and you can trade stars for new objects okay uh all right we'll unlock that a solar match yeah you know what i'll take one of those this is unfortunately locked what does this do i guess there's one way to find out we can also feed him to get other planets it might be that we just had a really bad first planet that i can't seem to fix oops that was not where i wanted to go it might just be because it's too far away from the sun but let's try this thing just out of curiosity uh ignite okay wait i can ignite coal oh that's cool all right so cole is making question mark what is that magma oh it's ashes what does that do all right so i think these things are free i also have solar seeds now okay that makes so much more sense so i'm gonna grab a few of these for the old inventory i'm also gonna feed him i wonder if i can feed him a different can i make like an ice planet no that didn't affect him at all but he said i could feed him to get a new planet is that true oh new planet for zero out of three ashes okay all right so we need oxygen for fire it's actually pretty cool i'm gonna throw a little bit of that on there ignite that's so cool i'm i'm having fun i don't know if i'm doing it right but i'm having fun doing it i wonder if i put ice on top of this what happens assuming it i was hoping it would turn to steam or something it's looking like it just slowly melts all right well the planet's looking better now it's back to negative 13. we have no fertility speaking of that i mean it's a little cold but let's see if we can maybe grow some some trees or something i'm going to try and get it on this water here yeah come on all right what is this i have a question mark item here carbon dioxide okay i also have snow all right cool i'm gonna throw some ice right on top of those seeds see if we can actually get something to grow that that would be great yes it actually worked i think i mean it made a noise so that's exciting all right well that planet's hopefully growing let's go back to the sun feed him his ashes so we get a new planet here all right where does this planet go enter or in inter it's uh let's see what it what it's all about it's another wasteland so it looks like the planets start the same every time i don't know if they can be closer or further away from the sun though oh ashes fertilize the ground when dissolved in water okay so this pedia is very important so first of all we need to make ice which turns in the water and then we put ashes on that and we should hopefully actually be able to maybe get a plant all right so can we put it right on top there we go so we'll just let that dissolve that work oh yeah for fertility's going up okay so we need to get more ashes ash is seen to be the answer right now so i'm gonna make a coal refinery over here again i just realized i've built a frozen lake now temperate lake yes yes i don't know what i did but it worked clearly all right we need we need some more oxygen i think we have life on the planet i hear things moving we have bulrush uh so that's our first plant all right there we go now we got bigger clouds i'm not getting any of the ashes anymore though what is this i just got something okay so that's nitrogen i think we should drop it back in the planet just in case i don't want to change too much right now i do want to obviously not have a lake though problem is i have almost no water so i'm not really sure why it's considered a lake right now so yeah the bulrush is why we're getting nitrogen it takes the ground nitrogen and disperses it into the air pretty cool that's how you get some of the resources planet's looking way better though i've been trying to get the temp up fertility is up i feel like actually burning some more coal is probably the answer here we also need a lot of oxygen here let's drop the carbon dioxide a little bit i feel like having a good mixture is always a good idea for some ice on the planet i mean at this point i've built the tropical lake i wanted a tropical planet i i have a lake now and i i'm totally cool with that uh-oh we have dying bulrush why is it dying does it just have a life cycle fertility actually went down did i add too much water what did i do oh you can view the core of the planet what what is that for what does that mean i don't know why i can do that but i'm intrigued now can i can i take out the core all right let's take a break from that plane and see if we can maybe do something with the old wasteland over here so first of all i'm gonna burn things for some nitrogen in here i don't know why just because i can i can grab my ashes now because they don't dissolve into the lake that's so cool that because i have a leg planet i can't actually grab my ashes climate's nice and hot now that means if i throw ice in here we might actually get life all right so let's try this ash thing again so now that we can actually get puddles again let's see if we can so we can fertilize that ground i believe that's what happened there don't know if this is going to work or not but i want to get some plants on on actual ground oh we gotta drag the freaking seeds in the water now we can sprout that took way too long i have finally figured out grass i never said life was easy can i put the seeds in there okay it just goes below the ashes let's grab the ashes again that's cool so you make puddles let's see what happens if i don't fertilize because the other one was fertilized can i sprout this still and yeah it's just more grass okay but that's all i wanted was one more discovery so i can unlock whatever the sun's gonna give me next these things are obviously really nice what the hell i have 15. all right i just had to wake him up solar eggs yes i'm gonna add some plants here once again and we'll throw some eggs in hopefully they hatch did that say dying eggs wait krill yes all right we got krill living on this planet i don't know if we can get anything else but at least we got some sort of life for the time being all right here's your eggs what hatches out of these eggs whoa whoa this planet's way cooler we got that's a that is a massive grasshopper or i'm on planets that are much smaller than i expected okay is it always going to be grasshoppers then probably wait i just put seeds out thinking their eggs i'm smart no it's not oh this planet's the best we got okay so i know i need those for the sun for whatever reason he likes worms so this is obviously the right planet the our first planet not not the greatest i'm gonna try and populate this one all right krill here experience what it's like to see a worm i mean worms can live in water right i love that you can do this you can transfer from planet to planet oh you have a question mark we have algae okay sick there's another discovery that's a good thing that means more life all right nom nom son i need more unlocks and i already have one because it's been going so well lately all right this one's really far away it's another wasteland though i'm not too worried about making more planets wake up i need unlocks that's right solar hut all right let's see what that's all about we're gonna go to our good planet here oh my god we have seeds growing on the plants look at this can i pull it off oh that's amazing and you know what props that's actually really freaking cool let's keep sprouting here this planet is going really well let's try the uh solar hot wait is it a nut could i read that wrong it's a solar nut ah okay i don't know what this thing is oh sprouts when water grows different kinds of trees depending on its surroundings okay that makes more sense it's a nut oh my god i got a flower yes i love this planet it's doing its thing on its own now because it's actually pretty successful yes give me the beautiful h2o there we go and plant that nut yes we got a seedling we don't even know what it is yet but i'm so happy we got trees now uh-oh i added water that might have been a bad idea whoa no no no i i need this yeah i just killed my friggin grasshopper what how did i get it to negative 10. i'm i'm ruining everything dude there's dying grass this planet was great until it wasn't i'll just take the dead grasshopper with me i don't know what i can do with it it seems to have fixed things though all right we got an apple tree good thing that's food all right i do know that burning coal heats up the planet generally so you're gonna be risky but worm you might want to get out of here bud no i'm not gonna make the one by you there we go oh god the trees that's right no come here oh my god i'm burning my whole planet no oh dude i screwed up i really screwed up this might work out disaster sometimes means good things we're back to 10 degrees celsius yeah that actually went really well we also have a twig now i don't know what a twig does but hey let's go get some more eggs all right so yeah we've turned it into a wooded swamp i'm cool with that we got apples on the ground dead grasshoppers things are going good man let's drop some eggs get some new animals on here hopefully they're more advanced never mind we're back to freaking worms i wonder what happens when you cremate an animal you know what for science let's find out the dead worm stay over there other guy the sense of uh just discovery in this game is great unfortunately that gave me nothing decided to plant uh the solar nut on my other planet that's a marine bush planet's actually doing pretty good now as you can see fertility's great on it so let's just keep going here got some algae i'm gonna put near the bush oh my god dying spider interesting that made me learn a lot though i can actually combine the eggs with certain things so if i drop them and then put near maybe i'll get something else this time all right it's just another dying spider but hey that's another uh thing that we learned so i wonder if i can do anything else on the other planet then i was hoping i could put it in the tree or something it doesn't look like it and i'm not having that same option here oh put near what does that do oh what the are you a stick bug that makes so much sense it's a stick of course oh yes oh that's not what i expected i thought i i need berries right now for the sun to unlock more um options i guess that's not a bad thing though because that was my 30th one i haven't figured out how to make berries though but let's get our final unlock and a solar egg again but a bigger one okay we'll take that all right it hatches when placed in a nest how the freak do i make an s a nest without animals making said nest [Music] oh oh is that a nest that is a nest okay that makes so much sense you gotta obviously use sticks together to tuck in the egg oh god that's amazing okay so i have the apple trees that i needed what the hell are you it's a frog now i know you can get humans in this game how big are the humans gonna be look at this guy i hope you have enough food little guy let's keep the let's keep the eggs hatching i don't i want to see if there's different animals nope that would be another frog now are we gonna have frog babies though i don't know if i need to figure out a new way to make nests or what um because there's a lot of different animals we can get what the hell is that oh that's my egg i thought i thought that was some sort of fruit that is a massive tree though oh it's a willow oh there's poo poo there's poopy uh i don't i'm assuming that's for like fertilization yes it's fertilizer when what water perfect interesting enough the frogs will dig when fed so i don't know what that will give me but i know i can get into like iron making and whatnot oh there it is right there the hell can i put the poop in the hole that actually worked okay oh i have sand now that must have been from the digging oh my god there's so much going on yeah it's used as a raw smelting material okay well that tells me if i ignite this possibly we might get glass i mean sand's made out of glass right so let's find out don't put it out cloud screw off there we go it is glass oh i don't know what i'm gonna do with glass i don't have humans yet but it's there when we need it all right guys well i think that's a good time to wrap up this episode here let me know what you guys think of this because honestly i think it's a great little god game uh we did get to the end of what i can unlock but obviously there's a lot more i can possibly get into this including humans and then with humans we can obviously get into civilization so yeah if you guys want to see another episode maybe i'll do exactly that but yeah this is a great little indie game i hope you guys enjoyed checking out heliopedia as
