[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] it has become time to get this prepped and ready for the roll-up garage door oh yeah got this all torn out you get this out of here and then wrap it around and get on my way [Music] nice [Music] [Music] I need this to buy 10 rip down to eight and a quarter I'm gonna try to cut this thing with skill saw I do not want to try my luck with the table saw because it's just difficult to manage a 16 foot 2 by 10 on my own so I'm gonna use this guy right here - got a bad tooth right there totally gone ahead into I cut right through some nails so I got a bad tooth there and there that sucks so I'm gonna cut through this baby with this skill saw thank [Applause] [Applause] so this should be eight foot three they put three that's right let's cut this guy down to eight-foot 382 foot three right there [Music] there we go there so I just need to flush it up on the inside of here this should be eight feet and I don't think ninety six and three-quarter I'm not thinking this thing's gonna be long yeah ninety-three and a half I need 95 and 3/4 so need one more rip it down put them on the sides then I'll explain to you why I'm adding that let's get this out of here should I be doing this on the table saw yeah maybe need somebody here to help me though [Music] two of those at 95 and 3/4 all right can I get a no ride okay folks so this guy needs to go like these up there in the corner flush all the way down Oh Paulie I'm out of nails I'm out of nails that's to hear this guy up here like this so fig garage doors ready it got this added here from my exterior insulation the mounting piece for the track normally you would put a piece right here to mount for the motor and I may have to add that but normally I'm gonna do a side mount motor it's gonna fit over here or over there I don't want the motor I don't want that long track of chain and all that it down the center that's just stupid so I may have to modify the framing a little bit over there alright so here you can see the foam okay and I've got I should have three quarters of an inch difference right here yes that's correct so then I'm gonna put a fern strip right here it's gonna be a piece of one by four that is three quarters of an inch that'll butt right here and the reason for the furring strip is for an air barrier to be behind the siding and the vapor barrier for the water to run down and then also something for my sighting to nail to so that's the reason that this sticks out like this so after I put my foam there and then my fern strip here it'll be flush for my sighting so the plan is to trim this out in siding and siding here so and then put a piece of trim right here so it'll all be continuous it'll be black siding and not sure exactly what I want to put on there yet so the next steps to put the garage door in that's supposed to be delivered or install tomorrow I am NOT doing the garage door I hired that out and you'll see what it looks like tomorrow I will come out here film it hopefully so the next step after the garage door is to put all this foam up the plan is I'm gonna start out back here first because they don't have any windows or any protrusions here that's gonna mess with my design I am gonna put four inches of foam on this side two layers of two inch foam I just need to finish the tie back here I could probably do that tonight and then I could start applying or adding the foam so put one here and then another layer foam and then inch-and-a-half foam all the way around the three sides in the front and that has to do with what I'm gonna trim out this upper section where the windows are you'll see that how I trim out the upper portion of the windows later I'm not so sure when I'm going to get to that it might be a minute because money money and time with the scare that's kind of going on right now a little bit worried about being able to get material so first thing I got to do is put the garage door on and then do the insulation around the outside so once I get the insulation wrapped around the outside I'm gonna head to the soffit or the fascia I'm gonna put the fascia on all the way around and then I could put the roof on the fascia has to go on before I could put the roofing on so fascia and then roof so garage door wrap the thing in this insulation foam and then the fascia roof and then the siding so there's the update for now folks so somebody gave me the idea and I actually already knew about this idea somebody gave me the idea to take out one of the screws on each one of these hinges put a three inch screw in there so that will hold the door to the to the two by fours via the hands rather than just these little small screws that look like this so I don't know that these are full a full three inch but just want them into the stud you want to put one on every single hinge so that jacked up the reveal the door just a little bit but not much not too much to write home about a cry about I do need to get the insulation out and foam around the door there [Music] [Music] so that's it it's ready for my guys to come and install garage door I will show you that door tomorrow and we will go from there that's it for this video thanks for watching and I'll see you guys in the next one [Music] all right folks so today is like the 25th of March it is the next day and the garage door did get installed see all this crap behind me there is a story that goes along with that and I may or may not share it with you that was the result of a terrible day and something that was not a pleasant experience so I did get the garage door install so let's go in there and check it out
