Hello! Welcome to our BTS Dinner Party. - Are you the MC? - Take the lead. - Go ahead. - Yeah, be the MC. I'm curious, try it. Okay, but only the opening. It's your fate for sitting here. Ready, go. Hello. Welcome to our BTS Dinner Party. Wow! This feels new. Is there anything more to say? - Go on. - BTS! How are you today? - All of a sudden? - That's so random. I've never felt so easy for a shoot. This is how I see it. I mean, we're at a restaurant. I think we'll be drinking today. Sounds great. What do you want to drink? - Just a casual drink. - Casual drink? - A glass of beer. - Oh! Beer! Shouldn't we get something to eat? Do I press this button? Ding-dong. Do we get food served now? Ding-dong! To enjoy our dinner, we need to pass a mission. - What mission? - Yeah, what mission? Is this 'RUN BTS"? There's a dance time. Dance time! ♪ Babam-babam-bam ♪ We pass! - We're getting something. - It's the menu. - Let's first order drinks. - Drinks! Shall we pick one? "Come up with a toast slogan." - A test slogan! - Wow! Food! Awesome! What a feast. Wow! - Is that called pancake? - No. That is buchimgae. - Even rolled omelets? - Gyeranmari! Guys, we need to make a toast slogan. Okay, guys. It'll signal both the start and end. Get them to pay attention. What will be our toast slogan? Let's each make suggestions. I want to keep it simple, and say "Cheers." - Just cheers? - And not give it big meaning. That sounds good. Like JIMIN said, I want to keep it simple. - Something like, "Ugh!" - That sounds good. The nuance would matter. - Let's go with that. - Yeah. That "ugh" includes all of life's up and downs. When sad, "ugh..." When mad, you say "ugh!" When you're happy, "ugh~!" BTS's toast slogan is "Ugh." - Just add the emotions. - Right. One, two, three. Ugh! - Great. - Full of energy! - That was great. - Yeah, ugh! We don't, but when people have company dinners, they do a little cheer like "ugh" in a restaurant. This feels new like that. This slogan is full of energy. Let's dig in! - Here come our drinks! - There they are! What? What? What? What? How Dow we eat this? - Isn't this our first time? - Yeah, our very first. - JIMIN is drinking on TV. - I know. Oh! JIMIN! Bon apetit! What do I eat first? Here I go for scoops. Wow, this is good. Now that we got a taste... What? Eat some more. - He knows how to be on TV. - We should go on. He knows TV all too well. Delicious! This is good. How about we pull another? Oh yeah, this airs when our album is out already. Our album is no joke. - I want to listen to it. - It's no joke. This airs when it's out. I hear we went from 2nd to 1st on the Billboard 200 Chart! Wow! And 8th on the Billboard Hot 100! Wow! - We also took 1st on Inkigayo! - Wow! What great news. You know what? We've never been 1st on Music Core. They have only recently got a ranking system. Anyway, fill up your glasses. Today is a great honor. Everyone has their glass full. BTS's first ever on TV. One, two, three. Ugh! Eating like this... Let's pick another. "You recently went on a trip." How did it come about and what did you do there?" - Yeah, we took a trip. - Who planned it? - Taehyung Kim. - Give him a big hand. J-HOPE, that wasn't sweet calling. Taehyung Kim. Thanks to V, we went on a trip. - Where did we go? - In Gapyeong... - Cheongpyeong-ri. - Yeah, that's where we went. - Taehyung... - Yeah, he planned it. - Since our fans don't know. - I planned the trip. Tell us why you planned it. I wanted BTS, in our spare time, to make special memories. What did we do there? - On our first day... - We first had a barbecue. - We decided our rooms first. - Oh yeah, our rooms. There's a fun story to that. - Yeah, we picked rooms. - Tell us what that is, JIMIN. Why won't you tell us? I'm the talker who makes others tell the story. This was how we decided to pick. We took turns to go into the room we want. In turns by rock-paper-scissors. If four people chose the same, they had to share the room. - That was the rule. - We had three rooms. No, we had four. Strangely enough, that worked. Yeah, we divided up. JIN and I got the same room, but that's not important. The rest of the five guys... - Hoseok got his own room. - Except for J-HOPE. There was also a mid-sized room. - Me, JUNGKOOK, RM and SUGA got it. - You four went in. We gave them leeway and let them use two rooms. We wondered how would happen with regarding to Namjoon. Curious who'd bear his snores. I rarely snore. It's become much better. I recently got to see on set. He snores less now. Who ended up with Namjoon? Was it JUNGKOOK? The next day, JUNGKOOK... For the two nights there, JUNGKOOK never showed up. - Yeah, he used the living room. - So I slept alone. When he left the room, he whispered, "I can't sleep." He's lying. He's making that up! - Too much seasoning! - You should drink a glass. - A penalty shot. - He should drink soju. Drink, drink, drink! You know what? We didn't even get to what we did on our trip. We only got to deciding our rooms. Why talk about my snoring? Simply put, we had fun! We had a barbecue and SUGA cooked for us. We left out the most important part. - We all had stomachaches. - Oh yeah. Since we grilled the meat at night, we didn't realize it was undercooked. But it was really good. I wasn't about to eat it yet, but since I was on the grill, you kept feeding me. The meat was really good. - Really good. - It was too dark to see. My sweet potatoes took up a part of that grill. You wrapped them all wrong! This is another story to tell. I've never seen anyone wrap with one layer of foil. Isn't that how you do it? I've never seen the foil melt away like that. And that claw machine. We didn't succeed, not once. That was hard. - That was seriously... - Yeah, it was too weak. - The claw itself was too weak. - Couldn't hold onto it. I wanted a doll, but couldn't get one. JIMIN's a good guy. Who would you have given it to? - He probably thought of me. - No, it's me! You took my $10 to play. Let's all drink to this one. Pick a question after. Anyway, we had fun. Your face is now glowing red, despite the foundation. - Here it comes! - Our red-face guy. Don't mistake him. He only had this much to drink. Guys, he didn't drink too much. - Only this much. - Hurry up and pick one! I already did. He's brought the red cap bottle. Isn't that grapefruit flavor? Wow! That was awesome! Wow! That was cool! - I've never seen this trick. - Me neither. What just happened? - He went like... - It was like that thing. How did you do that? He couldn't remain cool. What's the backstory to SUGA's b-day cake posted on SNS? There was a reason for this. It was before anyone knew about our black hair. It had the wrong number of candles. That must have felt bad. But SUGA, I think you should drink. - We still prepared the cake. - Yeah! - Wow! - Yeah, SUGA. - Who put in the candles? - Me! - You should also drink. - Wow! I've never seen anyone drink beer like this. This food is really good. He always does his own thing. - Haven't you eaten? - No. - Next question. - JUNGKOOK, answer what's next. Next question! "Share what you'd like to do for the next year with members!" What you want to do with us for the next year! So it'd like until April next year. I want us to be happy with concerts and our album. Oh! Oh! No? Taehyung, on your right... What's that on you? Why are you trying to look like Tan? Come here. - Oh! - How'd you get the smudge? Give us the next question. "Tell us what style of fashion you like these days" "and give a score to what you're wearing today." We can go one at a time. - Take turns. - Should I go first? I bought this from online. - It costed $23. - $23? You should drink. - What? - Because it's $23? - No? - Mine is also $23. Let's give our score for what SUGA is wearing. I want to give him high marks. Oh! Out of 10, what's the score? Out of 10, I say 8. - 8 out of 10. - Why take off 2 points? I think your looks completes your fashion. Oh! I'm the only 10 here, while everyone else is an 8. I'm sorry I asked, go on. I'm next. I give you score 2! Isn't that JUNGKOOK's shirt? I'm wearing two shirts. - Hey! - Really? Wow, you got on layers. - Really? - They're stuck together? Layered fashion. I wake up every morning and dress in what I see first. I don't lurk around my wardrobe. If I see something, I wear it. What awesome fashion. - Namjoon, show us your fashion. - A whistle! Blow us that whistle! I have something I want to say. I have friends who call me up about our airport fashion. They say you dress really well. Let's blow that whistle again. My friends always say that about you. Namjoon is famous as Kim Daily. That's right. Fashion is Namjoon, Namjoon is fashion! I'm wearing comfy clothes. Many of you might be wondering about this whistle. I just have it on because I like it. - What score do you give him? - I give him an 8. - Really? Your best score? - Yeah, the top score. Okay, next. - Taehyung in rose patterns! - He never changes. I bought clothes for this special occasion. Wow! - What? - You got that ready? You weren't wearing what you bought for today? No. Hang on! - Check out his belt. - Your belt stands out. - Hang on! - Ah! Isn't this what you gave as a gift? Belts come out long these days, so you can wear it like this. Wow! Didn't you shorten the belt? A guy who was a warrior on a historical drama is different. You can unsheathe it. I learned to use the sword, but I never got to on the drama. Unsheathe it like a sword! Argh! - That looks really red. - And look here. - This coat... - Are you okay? It's very affordable. - It costed $68. - $68. Your face completes the fashion. This is like a Taekwondo belt. Are you getting even? - It seems really nice. - Thank you. That's great fashion today. You look awesome. Very autumn-like. Despite it being spring. The weather's pretty warm now. I give you a 9. I give Taehyung a 10. - You look awesome. - My score for V is a 9. Wow! It was an 8, but his sword act was impressive. Whoa! Look a it getting red! - Oh no. - Whoa! This helped his fashion. J-HOPE's turn. - I wore a slim-fit. - Great. - That's my fashion point. - J-HOPE! - You're more smartly dressed. - Yeah. Since today is a special occasion. Not like how I usually dress. - J-HOPE can really dress well. - He's great with fashion. - No kidding. - You just wear what you like. Back in my interview, I was asked who dressed the best. They asked who I thought it was. So I didn't say J-HOPE but RM. - It's J-HOPE and RM. - Yeah. Not J-HOPE but RM. Actually, I did pick J-HOPE. - What about him? - Being so pompous. Oh, Namjoon! Oh, Namjoon! What's this? Why are we drinking to this? Oh! I didn't give my score yet. - I say you're a 6. - Really? Why? I like J-HOPE's fashion that stands out. But today, he's just slim-fit. And he didn't bring his acorn bag. - Oh yeah! - He doesn't have it on him! Man, I left it in the car. - I'm disappointed. - Why'd you do that? - He's not J-HOPE today. - My fashion isn't complete. Because J-HOPE likes to dress so fancy, - fancy looks casual on him. - Yeah. - When he dresses up neatly, - You can't get used to it. - you think he's not fashionable. - Really? - JIMIN. - For today... - I put on a cardigan I rarely wear. - Wow! JIMIN's come with a smart outfit. Smartened up, like a college kid. - Did you cut the neck-hem? - Huh? - This shirt? - Isn't that mine? No. From what I think, JIMIN seems to have made the most improvement. - Wow! - It's JIMIN? I give you a 10 out of 10. I also think JIMIN's gotten better. Like RM does it, I've wanted to change my style. - I give you a 10. - Thank you. Thanks a lot. JIMIN, I give you an 8. That's the style I dig. Now JUNGKOOK. - JUNGKOOK is always... - His style changed so much. I give JUNGKOOK a 10. You're dressed so well today. You never change. That rocks! Isn't this hoodie from practice? Why do you always get the same fit? It looks the same! JUNGKOOK's always worn it. When did he ever wear a coat? JUNGKOOK's body is really built. He has an amazing body. I was amazing. JUNGKOOK is wearing a coat! For the first time ever, I saw JUNGKOOK trying to buy slacks. JUNGKOOK used to have Aladdin pants. - I was so moved by JUNGKOOK. - When was that? Do you remember? It was two weeks ago. You sometimes wear flight jackets. Flight jackets are pretty short. - He layered it with a long shirt. - Wow! I was so moved. Is that something to be moved about? JUNGKOOK usually wore it with just a plain shirt. - You really mean it, huh? - Yeah. - Why would that move you? - You wouldn't be? Nice! His body gives him that fit. Right? Perfect body, perfect fit. Don't you do 240 push-ups a day? - Yeah. - Wow! 240 push-ups a day? But I don't do many squats. I don't even do 240 press ups. I don't do that many press ups, but he does 240 push-ups? Onto the next question. "In 2017, you won the BBMAs, AMAs, the year-end awards, and listed the best-selling album, and other such great achievements. What changes did they bring?" I wasn't like this for the BBMA, but after our AMA stage, I cried while taking a shower. Very sentimental. Not because I was overjoyed, but because I was scared. I mean, I was like... It was beyond what I had imagined. In a way, I wouldn't have even dared to dream it. During the shower, I felt pressured and I felt lost about what to do from then on. This is how I think. Now that we've gone that far, standing on stage at the AMA... To be honest, there was a little bit of that empty feeling. We've achieved much more than we had sought out for. So like what we discussed before... You know, we talked about our reasons for doing what we do. Now that we've taken a trip together and cried on each other's shoulders and stuff, I think as the leader and personally, this is how I want to think. By this time, our album would be out. Just because we've achieved more than what we wanted to, I don't want us to think like, "What do we do now?" What others couldn't have done, where others couldn't have gone, is now something we can actually work towards. In any case, we'll continue our work, what with our music and performing on stage. So let's be saying stuff like, "What now? What's the point?" Or think like, "What are we supposed to work towards now?" Something more exciting will be waiting for us. So I want to be that support just in case anyone's feeling down and say that they've become numb to everything. I think that by giving us that tension back, we'd be able to go further. After our trip, I decided that I'm going to think that way. We talked on the phone before our trip. - With me? - Yeah. - I called you. - Yeah. You mentioned that. I felt like calling RM, so I did. This was what came to mind after hearing you talk. After getting back from the AMA, we've had a bit of a struggle from getting something so big. All of a sudden, we're up there. But by having that struggle, we've been able to think about all this a little sooner. It's actually a good thing. That's what I thought after our chat on the phone. How well we do matters, but after thinking about all this in January and February, I began to wonder why I started music in the first place. I came on board because I like music and the stage. But thinking about how well our next album must do made me feel like I couldn't escape this thought. This opportunity really helped me sort out those thoughts. - Next questions. - Go on? - That was a good answer. - Wrapped up well. "What's hard being the youngest?" Look at our youngest! He poured himself a shot. We should all drink to this. - What's hard as the youngest? - This is what I think. I hope he opens up and tells us what's hard as the youngest. - Yeah, tell us! - Because he rarely does. Is it hard hearing me talk whenever you do push-ups? I hope he can be frank. Just be straightforward. I don't have stuff like that. - Tell it as it is. - Then what's hard these days? There isn't anything hard as the youngest. Back in our trainee days and even now, I don't have it hard because I'm the youngest. I'm rather more awkward with those who are younger. - I like guys older. - That's because it's us. Yeah, yeah. What's with the dab dance? - Dab dance! - A sudden dab dance. I'll pick the next question. Next question. What did you do on your own, not for praise or acknowledgment? What I wanted to do? Mine is making the mix-tape. Yeah, that would be for you guys. I personally wanted to do it. I wanted to do my music, so I did. Not for compliments. After surgery for deviated septum, I went to work on music four days later when they took plastic out from my nose. I was so grateful for that. I wanted to and be helpful. I was grateful because... You wrote almost all the lyrics to this album. For this album, RM did a lot of work. He came in later to work on it. Thank you. Coming and going, I told him how great the lyrics are. I've always told him that. I was most glad that you liked the lyrics to the vocalists' unit song. Me too, I loved the lyrics. I got the chills listening to them. I'm grateful that you guys write our song lyrics. Because we're a team, we can relate to what you write. I'm glad that I can connect with the words I sing. There's that feeling you get. Having gone through a lot for the last 2, 3 years, now I'm writing the songs because I like to. I have so many songs written that's not in our albums. - Give me some songs! - Yeah, you should. I want to, but I don't have the time. I could give him songs. Then give me some! - Give him your songs! - It's because... For the first time, now I want to work on my own songs. But I really want those songs to be what you guys write for me. I'll try my best. But I'm not trying to nag you. - I've a grasp of JIMIN's style. - Yeah! You know his style more. They know, but I've been asking for years. JIMIN, I'll give you one! He wrote a great song. You wrote one? Taehyung and I met up with one of our producers and they let me listen to what Taehyung worked on. I was amazed. Taehyung's been known to write great tunes since "Hold Me Tight." I said we could release it after a bit of touch-up. But the funny thing is, RM was like, "You can properly record it now." I said, "But I did..." "It'd be nice if you touch it up and record it properly." "But I did..." I'm sorry, I didn't know! I thought it was a guide. "How are you different from last year?" JUNGKOOK, how are you different? Honestly, I haven't changed a lot. I think he's gotten calmer. - Me? - Yeah. Last year, as you well know, I think he was really young. JUNGKOOK rose to the top at a young age, so I think he's struggled with who he really is and even as we speak. You were only 15 then. Honestly, I'm just me in my eyes. I can't see myself objectively, so it's hard to actually see the changes I go through. Okay! - Let's pick another question. - Next one. "What do you want to ask of the members?" Wow! I hope Namjoon is careful not to hurt his knee. - That hurt. - What we want to ask? But we're all nice to each other. Honestly, we've nothing more to say on this, huh? - I have something. - What is it? Though I'm not perfect myself, - get your shoes on the shoe-shelf. - Wow! Or I'm going to throw them out! Who doesn't?! Who doesn't? Namjoon? - Aren't you talking about me? - Guess you felt guilty. He means us two! Yes! - Or I'll throw them out! - We'll do so. We do, but it's only sometimes. Does anyone have anything else they want to ask? Let's concentrate! We do concentrate! If what you do is concentrate, I con-con-concentrate! - We also concentrate. - Three times than you do. Come on, let's concentrate. Our focus isn't the problem, it's our dance skills. J-HOPE, have you seen my face when I sing "imma"? My chin sticks out the most ever. - Yeah, I've seen you. - From focusing so much. It's not only that. This airs after our comeback, but we're getting ready. I don't want anyone get hurt. - That's the most important. - Yeah. I don't want us to get hurt. Because if anyone does... - Yeah, you're right. - Hey. - You too. - Yeah. And you be careful. I don't want us to get hurt but make a healthy comeback. Yeah, health comes first. Next questions. "Which member has given you the greatest influence?" Oh! - This is asking... - This is hard to answer. To be honest, when I first joined the company, the members were RM and SUGA. So they've been the greatest influence. They gave me the biggest help when I started to rap, and they've proved very helpful. These guys led the way so I can do better in music. So I'd have to say these two. I'd have to say JIMIN has given me the biggest influence. From how I see it, he's perfect. I've never heard this before. - He's perfect on stage. - An awesome guy. So I wonder how he's able to work tirelessly. Seeing JIMIN work so hard, I practice with RM in the corner. When I'm tired, I take a look at JIMIN. He's still working then. We need to put in more work. When they practice once, we need to do more than that. I think the other members would feel the same about this. I'm sure everyone's been inspiring one another. When I was asked to join the team, I knew I had to work very hard. That's what motivated me. BTS can't do without any one of us. Yeah, you're right. Regarding what JIMIN said, this comes to mind. During the concert... This came out on "Burn The Stage." How JIMIN said he missed a note. We saw how he felt bad about that. I could relate to that. I got worried because I knew he's picky about that. And when I'm stage, that affects me as well. So how each of us are feeling greatly influences the group. That makes us a very vulnerable team, but we came this far because we've overcome that. Yeah, you're right. I totally agree. So I can't pick one person for this question. Everyone's been a great support. And we've received so much help. We give us much strength. But one time, someone sent me a very long text. Who was that? - SUGA. - Oh! - SUGA. - Oh! - SUGA. - Oh! For real? I never imagined! Whoa! Why didn't you imagine it's me? Do you want to know why? You've texted me less than 5 times. And they were all one line! I never expected it. - For his long text? - Yeah. I'm so embarrassed. Let me skip to the end to when he wrote... - It left an impression? - Yeah. - I had never heard it before. - Don't say it! - Don't say it! - No, you should. - You need to tell us. - He's all embarrassed. That he loves me. That he loves me. - That he loves me. - Wow! BTS dinner party! - Whoa! - It's finally out! I cried out my eyes. - You cried? - Yeah, like 10 minutes. - Did SUGA ever say to us? - Nope. The longest text he sent me was, "Do you wanna eat?" Oh! - Let's drink to this. - SUGA hardly says that. Yeah, let's drink. SUGA, I'm moved. You've done well. But I sent it to two people. The other guy is me. Oh! He wrote he loves me at the end. Maybe it was a copy and paste. - I'm so jealous. - So embarrassing. Text that you love me. Hey! I love you. SUGA, I want that text too. Tell me later. After today's show, text and say you love me! Do you want to beg like that? Yeah, I do! Text me! - I'm not asking for much! - I'm begging you, too! - We don't need much! - Just send those words! You can copy and paste! I can't do this. - That's so touching. - Awesome. - Why am I so grateful. - I know. We learned something new. Here's what is next. He's so cute. "This is your 5th year as a singer. Do you have a motto?" A motto? What's your motto? I want to thank for my life now. Great. - That's a great one. - His is similar to mine. I think a lot about studies. What it would've been like if I had studied. But I think people are like this all our lives. What if I did this instead? Choices and regrets. I feel like my life would've been really good. Without struggles, just living the normal life. Doing everything what others do. But I don't think so. And so, I just... There's this phrase I like. "This is life." I think it's like that. My motto is, no matter what, - to stay on the bright side. - That's just like you. I hate it when things get down. So when things get gloomy, I try to make the mood better. But sometimes, that backfires. So that breaks my heart because I want people happy. Thanks to you, we're cheerful. - You play a big role. - Yeah! I want you to know this. Whenever you feel bad about that... Because of your motto, you're left to feel that much bad. But thanks to you, we're able to light up. I hope you remember that. This could sound cheesy and make you cringe. I've wanted to tell you, but it made me cringe as well. This was when I most felt it. On "Knowing Bros." You breaking the ice made us feel comfortable. - Because we struggled. - You broke the ice. I felt it very hard, afraid I'd make mistakes. But you said those funny things. You entered and said "Wow!" That lightened us up. Hodong and others were like, "Check out those guys!" - We were scared before. - Yeah. But you brightened the mood. We perform before 20,000 fans, but that small set was scary. We're used to being by ourselves. Since we weren't on a variety show for a long time. And we're not that good. Thanks to JIN, that day went well. Give him a big hand. How about we see the next question? "When you're down, what comforting words you want to hear?" "I love you." Oh! SUGA telling me that would give me a lot of strength. - JIMIN. - Yeah? - I love you. - Oh! - I love you. - Oh! - I love you. - Oh! That was so random. I loved it! We fed him the line, but it still gives you the chills. When SUGA sent me the text, I wondered how he would've said it. His voice? - Say it like you imagined it. - It wasn't in this tone. It wasn't, "I love you." "I love you." A little like this. - A little like... - The text had a sad tone. - But I mean... - Was it really long? It went over 20 lines. Did you have to press "more"? I'm so jealous of that text. That's longer than all the text he sent me in seven years. He texted me only five times! Let's not take this too far! Spending time with my family in January and February, this was what really comforted me. "Whether you're a BTS, or whether you hadn't debuted, you're family and just another person." "So don't feel pressured like that." "I don't get why you're tormenting yourself." When I heard that, I felt that I'm SUGA from BTS, but I also have my life. There is always that part of me. That's what always scared me. How I'm doing so well, but what if I lose everything? - What if I fail? - Afraid your life will be over? I got all serious about that. But now, that's that. Not long back, I wrote something. Yeah, you write these days. - You might debut as a writer. - I just scribbled some. What are they saying? If you publish a book, I'll read it. There's something I wrote. It was what I said in the interview. "I'm afraid of falling, but not landing." You might wonder what it means. But my mind's been on that. I think I know a little bit. It was like that. I understand 100 percent. As expected. That's what scared me. Once what I have and my success disappears and crumbles away, how I'd be left without meaning. That was on my mind. But I concluded that I'm also me. A musician I respect told me this. I went by Rap Monster then. "Don't think Kim Namjoon fails when Rap Monster fails." "You might not get what I mean," "but always practice separating those two identities." "Just because this life is over, it doesn't mean your life ends." He didn't want me to think they're the same. Since then, that's been my comfort. And I practiced spending time alone. - Sometimes, I get too into it. - Of course! On stage, hearing the cheers, you really get into it! I didn't read what Namjoon just said from a book. The crew gave me that advice. When we were in Japan, the crew there told me that. So I was very moved. Because we're the type that struggles getting out of it. That's because we love our work. - We love what we do. - Yeah, we care so much. That makes it more fearful. Let's move on. "Were you ever in a slump? If not, how would you get out of it?" We all had slumps. It's obvious that we did. To overcome your slump, you should go where it's cold. - What? - Where it's cold? When I was really down, it felt so cold, like about -27C. I was outside for about three hours. Because I couldn't catch a cab. When you're freezing, you can't think. That's a very unique way to overcome a slump. - You can't think! - You're the very first to do that. Usually, they say to rest. Or to spend some alone-time. You say, "When I'm in a slump, I go where it's cold." What I felt then was, when you're in a slump, instead of thinking too much, it would be better to not think. I try to beat the slump. - Wow. - You battle it out? How? When I'm in a slump... I guess it depends on what kind. For example, if I'm feeling bad about my skills... - That's how it usually is. - Yeah, that's where it comes from. I do more when I'm feeling low. To beat whatever it is. That's a healthy way. I think that's really amazing. - It's amazing. - Because when you're down... For example, other members could give you great help. If that's the case, you'd feel lost without them. So I think his way is just amazing. Anyway, time heals. Okay, next question. Next one. - How many do we have left? - Two more. "What score would you give yourself for how you're doing?" When SUGA texted, "I love you," he got a perfect score. I tend to be harder on myself. So I've pushed myself to always do more. That's how I am. I think that's one way of protecting yourself. I always look on the bright side, so I give myself 80 points. Isn't that giving less points? I thought you'd give yourselft about 98 points. But there some things that I can't help with. You know, like how I dance. To give you an example, I try hard... I mean, I think I try my best. But there are stuff I can't pull off with hard work. For "No More Dream," I practiced 10 hours every day for more than two months. But if I can't do any better, then that can't be helped. If you're trying that hard, aren't you doing well? - So I gave myself a good score. - That's a good score? Rather than my overall score, I based it on my hard efforts. I give myself 70 points. Getting 70 points would rest easier on me. For both myself and the team. Giving myself 70 points would be... It would make it easier. That's just the right thing to do. I don't want to pressure myself or even overrate myself. I just want to keep it at 70 points. As long as I don't lose points. That's what I'm trying to do. So I give myself 70 points. And you, V? V? That makes you two sound distant. Mr. Kim Taetae. - That sounds like a cartoon. - Your stage name is V. To be honest, just 10 points. - 10 points? You're not. - Out of 100? Maybe it's 10 out of 10. I want to become a better guy. I feel that I need to do better. To become a better person. In various aspects, someone better would find his own solutions. Even if it's something small, I want to become someone who can figure it out on my own. Someone who takes initiative? Yeah, someone who takes initiative. That's that, but 10 points is too low. Then I say, 80 points. 10 points to 80. What a huge difference. - That's a big leap. - Let's make it just 50. - Okay, 50 points. - Not too low or too high. I'm pretty satisfied with my life. For comparison, think of the scores we got in school. Some grades that made us happy. Such a grade was 80 for me. I always told myself I did well with 80 points. Because no one's perfect. We can't be perfect and score 100 percent. And I've never scored a 100. - I've never have in my life. - Me neither. - I never got a 100. - I guess Namjoon has. Of course, because he studied. - Do you mean in all subjects? - No, just in one. - For just one? - Yeah. Besides P.E. and stuff. I've never gotten 100 points, but I once scored just 4. As for me... me.. me... I write music and perform. But my music score in middle and high school was never higher than 50. - Oh really? - Me too. But that doesn't matter. That's because there's standard. - You have to memorize stuff. - And play recorders. - But I knew them all. - You know, like for singing voice. - Like quarter notes. - I know none of those. Anyway, I give myself 80 points. I'm satisfied. - Thanks for being here. - It's us three. - You have my back. - What? What? What? It's nothing. JIMIN? I don't really want to score myself. If I do, I'd be thinking about it. Then we can score him. - You're 100 points. - Mun Ikjeom. Hong Kong banjeom. Hong Kong banjeom? The mole (jeom) on your neck! - That was cheesy. - J-HOPE made an error (o-jeom). Oh! Error! (5 points) From 80, he fell to 5. J-HOPE's now 5 points? So what is JIMIN's score? - Now, JUNGKOOK. - Mongo-banjeom (birthmark). That settles it. I was also going to say I can't score myself. But you'll make me do it anyways. - No, we won't. - We won't do that. We're not going to. But still... we won't. But let's hear why. I don't want to score my life. Oh! He's more like a grown-up. He's like a guru. Actually, I'm also like him. As long as I'm happy. I don't really need to score myself. "It's been six years with ARMY. What are they to you?" - I think, well... - What are they to us? Leading my life, day to day... They're one of the reasons why I go on living. They support and love us. I think they're a big part of why I'm doing what I do. You explained that well. I also think of the word "reason." I went to Samcheon-dong to buy a figurine. The guy who sold it to me was over 40, older in his years. Giving me a ride back, he wanted to ask something. "I'm really curious." "What does it feel like when you hear them scream?" He asked that and many often do. But I can give a good answer now. Backstage, before we go on stage, my mind gets really busy. I wonder if we'll do well, whether we're doing okay... What am I doing? What if this or that happens? All that goes through my mind. But when ARMY screams... It's as if someone else takes over. To show that I'm well and alive, it's as if my soul is pulled out to make my avatar. Then I'm told, "Look, you're alive." My soul is pulled out and the same me comes alive, for me to look at next to me. So hearing our fans scream, I feel glad that I'm alive. That's how I think. We talked about the struggles we've been through and also why we're doing this. I think we all know the answer. Music needs to be listened to. Books should be read. That's the fact. So I think... Why are we here talking like this? They're the reason for all that. I don't have anything to add to that. Because I... My biggest struggle this year was when we had the Golden Disc Awards. - Around in January. - In all the interviews we did, I said that it's time for me think about what I'm living for. That's the way I talked. That made the fans worry. At the Golden Disc Awards, a lot came to mind when we were on stage. What I wanted to say then was what you said in your comments for the award. So I had nothing more to say. I just knew that was it. I want to add to that. It was something I wanted to tell us. It was what we needed and what I needed to hear. - I wanted to say that, too. - It'd be cheesy, with just us. Honestly, I jumped at the chance to share that at the Awards. - I think I told you that. - Yeah. Anyways. But you know... When I was struggling the most this year, On Taehyung's PC, I looked up songs to listen to. And I saw a lot of our own clips. Clips of us singing and dancing. There was also a clip that showed fans singing along. It was the song "Young Forever." I cried my eyes out. "Why was I even thinking like this?" I realized they're my reason. Do you want to add to this? I want to move on. Here's the next question. After this, we finish. "What is happiness?" The moment I saw this word... What is happiness? JUNGKOOK! What is happiness? Being able to smile. We can smile when together. JIMIN! What is happiness? Happiness is when you take a sip of drink... I'm not sure. I think it's like this. When I'm doing something, I don't think of anything else. But I'm smiling at whatever it is. I think that's happiness. Before, it was just us together and holding a concert was everything. I thought that scope of happiness was small, but thinking it over, there are so many things that makes me happy. What is happiness? I also thought of this when we made that awards comment. What happiness is. That was on my mind for about six months. What happiness is. I mean... I don't think I can be certain. I can't say whether this or that is happiness. It's not that clear to see. Only time can tell. Whether you were happy or not. I think happiness... I think the word happiness is made too sacred. So language-wise, I think it would've been better as a pure Korean word. The word has Chinese characters for meaning. It's hard to understand that way. I want to quote HAON's lyrics. "Happiness is nowhere but everywhere." What is happiness? I personally think of happiness is... When I'm laughing, I'm happy. When happy, people laugh. They don't cry when happy. And they don't get mad. When you laugh, you're happy. In order to be happy, I try to brighten up the mood. I want not just me but everyone to be happy so I'm trying hard for that. I'm the opposite. I think when you're happy, you can easily cry. Didn't expect this. It's different for everyone. You don't cry only because you're sad. You cry when you're really happy. When we're on stage at our concert, think of how happy we are. Before so many in the audience, we sing and hear fans cheer. We become overjoyed and start getting that feeling. I think that's why we cry at the end. We cry because we're happy. JUNGKOOK? For joys and sorrows. Why? If you're not mad or sad, you won't know when you're happy. Wow! Greatly said. Because we are celebrities and we live on the camera, people might think we hide stuff and pretend to be a certain way. But I can't be like that. I can't make myself be that way. How we cry and stuff is because we feel that way. Taehyung, what's happiness? - Happiness? - What's happiness? Happiness is... Having no worries at that moment. Wow! I felt that on our trip. For the two days there, I had no worries at all. No anxieties. As if it was full of laughter. It gave me a lot of strength after, having that trip together. So thinking back to then gives me a lot of strength. - Let's often take trips. - Let's go! How about next month? - Want to drink to this? - Yeah. JIN and JUNGKOOK can say the toast. The oldest and youngest. Yeah, say your thing. After, count to three for the ending. The questions helped us open us. I really enjoyed this dinner party. I hope to take more trips together or go somewhere to hang out. I hope more that are in store. Hold up your glasses. In the far future, I hope we smile looking back to our time together. Wow! One, two, three! Ugh! This was great. BTS dinner party is over! Great work.
