Bryce Young NFL Debut! Madden 24 Atlanta Falcons Franchise

welcome to Falcon's franchise as we start off this episode with a little bit of housekeeping to do a little bit of housekeeping and that's size I I don't know why that made me laugh it's just so stupid anyway Dalvin Cook's going to the Jets I've assigned him to the Jets and bang there he's on the roster and also the best goal line back in the league if you see Keel Elliott is now with the Patriots so got that under control I figured it's early enough in the franchise I want to have those guys on their correct teams for this season and we'll see what happens in the future obviously but it's early enough we haven't even played week one yet and then for us the legend of Frank Darby eliminated before it could even get going over before it started Frank Darby got cut and again it's early enough to where I'll make the same change goodbye Frank wait Prince adeog and deji also got moved to the IR but there's not really a way to do that I just don't think he's gonna play very much for me anyway but something that I saw got mentioned a lot was the idea of moving cordarrell Patterson back to receiver now the interesting thing about this is I guess he was drafted as a receiver first round pick believe it or not out of Tennessee and is whether you knew it or not one of the top two or three return men in NFL history seems insane to say out loud but that's just a true thing about cordarrell Patterson never got going as a receiver and then when he went to New England started playing a little bit of running back he became good and moving him to receiver feels like a very maddeny thing to do but with Bijan Robinson I don't know what cordarrell Patterson's role is for me his contract says that this is the final year in Atlanta you know what I will move him to receiver Frank Darby's not an option anymore and after Drake London it is bad so you know what for Daryl Patterson probably is going to play a lot of slot receiver for us but I don't know what Scotty Miller is going to do then it's gonna be interesting but I like the idea and yeah cordarrell Patterson will make the shift I know in real life he's not really a receiver but he's a great receiver out of the backfield boost with 77 overall at wide receiver but just for the sake of this roster it makes sense for me we'll say Mercedes-Benz stadium looks very good the NFL is really going into a complete like Dome and enclosed Stadium meta and I don't really like it but I recognize that yeah it eliminates you know every outside issue that you would have I know it's not baseball like you play through the rain and snow anyway better than that might screw up the TV broadcast a little bit but um yeah I do I just kind of like the outside feel and and you can control lighting completely as well for the most part like you do have the Cowboys who are indoors but the lighting there is horrific because they're like what if you know how the Sun is extremely strong here in Texas what if we just like put a huge plane of Windows throughout the stadium so the sun can shine directly through and blind everybody doesn't seem Super Wise as Ritter's gonna go down Sam Hubbard with the sack I was not focused there okay that's all right but you're gonna see more Starters play this is the penultimate preseason game as Burrows gonna Just Launch it toward the end zone incomplete for Jamar Chase but I'll tell you we're gonna fly through these preseason games this is you know the uh final one so we're just getting or a second to last one I should say and uh we're getting into week one in this video without question let's throw it up Cordero overshot him seems like there's gonna be a lot more just random inaccurate passes this year and we'll see how that affects gameplay could be interesting dislocated shoulder for Tyler algiere as we turn to Godwin igue now Bichon looks okay but we got to get him out of the game ASAP I almost don't even want to give him the ball on this because I don't want him to get hurt he is stuffed again fourth and goal okay we have no depth at running back though it's just it's literally Godwin eagle okay we gotta sign a running back probably now if is it a dislocated shoulder is not like oh you'll be good to go next week that's probably gonna take a minute but I'm definitely very interested to see what we can get out of Taylor heinecke you know he's competing for that starting position and if he's gonna be more accurate and more consistent than Desmond Ritter you're not going to want to hear this I get it but I'm going to start Desmond Ritter over or Taylor heinecke over Desmond Ritter if I think heineck he's going to be more consistent and give us a better chance to win yes I understand the development and that's why Ritter is more likely to get the chance early but I'm trying to approach this you know much like a real life team would and that's putting the guy that gives you the best chance to win as that starter and I'm not saying it's Taylor high Nicki I'm just saying I am prepared for a scenario where that is the case decent route there from Scotty Miller that's going to be a touchdown Gotti Miller somebody that's gonna probably make a lot of plays for us because somebody has to this year so he's what third on the receiver depth chart now he's gonna have to make plays but Dupree is someone I'm not sure if they're gonna make the team Brady Jarrett is still in the game here and we just didn't run with that drag route I guess we should have picked that up Bruce sample from Trevor Simeon but this is definitely a nice little tune-up game you gotta remember I haven't really played Madden in about oh maybe five months pretty much right something like that so you know getting back into Rhythm a little bit and uh getting the feel of the game again and how the computer is going to play and surely annihilate us what our responsibilities will be big hit Troy Anderson incomplete but Bud Dupree is injured yeah he's cut heinecke misfires all right I've seen enough Ritter's a starter you have some upgrades though we'll handle those oh a little training camp standout what's this about Arnold epicady had a strong Camp did you watch him in the drills in episode one okay uh whatever apparently he's continued to build on that this preseason and uh what do we want for him probably sure tackling yeah definitely get his tackling up please is tackling oh man it's so bad look at what he did against Desmond Ritter plus five tackling now he might be a startable player I don't see Tyler algiere on the injury report so I guess he's fine and it's time to cut 16 players who will make the final roster in Atlanta we're about to make some tough decisions now it feels weird to cut a Long Snapper but those are guys in Madden that just don't make the team they just don't on Fitzpatrick can play some fullback later Keith thanks but no thanks slowest player on the planet from those drills I know I'm just not gonna keep Bud Dupree around we're just gonna cut him and we'll move late uh Nate landman to the practice squad and that's it I don't even think we need to bother with Tyler Alger for elusive back he's getting one play call in the Playbook and it's halfback dive so this is the way the team's gonna look here for 2023. Johnny Smith could play some fallback but so could John Fitzpatrick John and jono and I mean our Sega white side needs to move down he's going to be tight end for it's Patrick gonna be tight end three and this is the way the defense looks we could end up developing Jeff okuda Clark Phillips gonna move to CB4 and hopefully eventually start in the nickel for me again we have some some strengths on this team couple good players in the secondary and on the defensive line but uh certainly a long way to go now the Falcons are kind of a weird team because we might have a little bit of success in year one compared to some of my past franchises and we have a decent chance to make the playoffs just because of the strength of the NFC South and the strength is that it's weak write that down now we might win 789 wins or games right but is that enough to make the playoffs it might be we're gonna commit to seven wins I think that's very doable I think this can be a playoff team but I don't want to Discount the Panthers and Bryce Young Who we're going to face in this video here in week one and the Saints could be good the Bucks are kind of a wild card I don't expect big things but things could happen and of course with my main franchise series we use auto-generated rookies it's way more fun that way if you don't believe me go back watch Giants franchise Lions franchise before that Jags franchise we have big time players that become like household Channel names like Dennis peoples in Jags franchise Lions franchise had a bunch including Paul Garrison Raphael Wilkinson B.J Dickerson big one I mean Nick Duvall last year there are plenty right and uh I am very excited to see what this draft class is going to look like we'll have a little bit of a peek right and the number one player he's got a good name already Dante Boston I can see that being a good fit and here we go let's let's go ahead and just on a name basis 64270 at LSU I'm interested you got a 6'3 Corner John hollom in at number two hurry at Waters a right tackle Landry Hubbard a running back in the top five not gonna be a problem for us quarterback in the top five from Texas A M James Culver not gonna go over the entire team here but quite a few quarterbacks and uh you know I would say our biggest needs we could definitely take a strong look at receiver you know maybe safety corner for sure if the player is good enough every linebacker spot really I'll just say every front seven spot now the strength of this draft class right tackle wide receiver quarterback don't really care for much of that weaknesses middle linebacker Center Right Guard we're strong on the offensive line or at least getting that way but middle linebacker would have been nice to have somebody that's really good and there still could be but overall the class doesn't seem to be very good there we're gonna get Calvin Heath as our main Scout defensive end and outside linebacker those are two big positions of Need for us and it kind of could be the same position if you think about it it can't stand out should be continuing the breakout potentially of Arnold epicady I'm okay with that let's see what it says here we go every year there's players who ball out in pre-season that don't end up doing anything once the actual season starts I think you're different but it's time to prove it show me something Arnold show me you're capable of hanging in the league he's apparently never been more ready didn't put in all this work just to come up short he's here to make plays it helped the team win well go do it two combined sacks and tackles for loss so any combination of those one sack tackle for loss would do it right and that would continue the breakout of Arnold epicady so a sack counts as a tackle for loss and it counts as a sack so if he sacks the quarterback he should get it what's the key to Victory today it's tough to say against the Panthers right they've got a rookie quarterback but he can still play unreal in his debut against us I'm not sure I trust our defense but I don't trust me on offense I am gonna say dominating offense though ideally we establish a rhythm on offense dictate the flow of the game and get a big enough lead to make their offense one dimensional so we'll see what happens uh running game gonna be our main focus now will I actually stick to that I don't know but we want to run the damn football solid Run game is going to limit the opponent's possessions and the longer we're on offense the less time they have to score beat the Panthers rush for 150 plus yards it's Bijon Robinson Bryce young NFL debuts coming at you next what a showdown what a stare down Bryce young Desmond Ritter man tough to know who's gonna be better out of those two we'll have to see what happens that's all I'll say about that the Panthers could be a good team man they've got some Talent obviously some weaknesses too they were picking you know inside the top 15 for a reason I think they were at number nine right trade up from nine to one I think they were at nine it could have been 11 at the lowest I think they were at nine though here we go we are underway Madden 24 2023 season Falcons franchise taking on that man the number one overall pick Bryce Young and you know we expect him to be pretty good oh it includes decision making now for quarterbacks ideal that worries me against the all Madden CPU I'm gonna be honest that is extremely scary because Bryce Young making all the right decisions and playing well out of the construct of the play that could be very dangerous he's under pressure already but we'll check it down to Ian Thomas get a couple yards in there of course the new running back miles Sanders he'll get the carry but nowhere to go wrapped up but still gains three we need to get it louder here in Atlanta they're going gun empty on Third and short Bunch right we're past committing and we play decent coverage that's incomplete the new Falcon Jesse Bates making a play got a huge contract in the off season and we have forced a three and out for the rookie number one overall selection and that's not a bad start but here's what we need to do regardless of how much I want to throw the ball that's not what we do in Atlanta we run the dam football here comes our quarterback or should I say designated hander offer of the football he's got ideal decision making and Ritter there's something there big strong fast gotta develop that accuracy got to develop you know playing the quarterback position but when we have Bijon Robinson to lean on it should be a little bit easier he's gonna get the first touch of this season and that is not a bad play from Bijan but I think that might have been a horse collar tackle throw the flag anyway you know our draft class by this point we'll have to see you know when Zach Harrison and some of those guys further down the board start to make an impact but I think they could I'm not saying they will but it's certainly possible as we're gonna look for space with Bijan end up not finding any not decisive enough it'll be third and sixth third down and six we're gonna throw outside for Patterson and perfect accuracy apparently was behind cordarrell Patterson no question we had the first down and perfect accuracy was not perfect as it said so we're gonna bring on Bradley pinion and as I've said a billion times in these franchise series I can't play offense we know it can I play defense not really but damn can I punt and that's not the best one because we were backed up so far you know it's really tough to to pin them inside the 20 in that spot but uh not terrible as we switch sides of the field essentially and that was man coverage and I lost my man I got distracted miles Sanders goes ahead and makes a play Jukes out and runs all the way to the end zone that's that's what you call Zone eyes and man coverage and that's a big problem and I just I got lost following the receivers that's completely on me miles Sanders ran a wheel out of the or not maybe not even a wheel excuse me but just ran a route out of the backfield maybe a table and turn it up field and then uh it was an easy touchdown and JJ arathago White side is down on the return it was a great return by cordarrell I mean we're set up at the 41-yard line and uh there's a big injury on the play what are we gonna do without JJ our theka white side I don't know Bijan with his biggest run of his career I'm gonna say that every single time he's actually split out wide here might put London on a slant and throw it to him immediately and Ritter just completely misses Drake London was open he was open Ritter says oh what if Shaq Thompson caught the ball let's spread it around how about make a completion I mean Drake London was so open look where it's going he misses him by what five yards you're an NFL quarterback make the throw second to nine we are all over it Kate and Ellis first sack of the year for Atlanta brings down Bryce young hey rookie welcome to the NFL it's Kaden Ellis a veteran Superstar I know what you're thinking who in the world is Kaden Ellis that's who out to screen we're all over it Anderson Just trip him up don't do anything crazy Jeff okuda comes in to make the tackle we sniffed out that screen early Jeff okuda makes the play we force a punt much better defensive showing than the last drive out but that was a complete mistake on my part so that's okay we're gonna rebound we're gonna score maybe and uh the turnover doesn't bite us just having Bijan Robinson should give us plenty of second and sixes or better and there he goes we got a block Bijan Robinson to the outside the longest Rush of his career Drake London loves it the blocking was actually really good there and you can see Bijan was really quick and uh kept getting up the field another block and he might have been gone but unfortunately it did not materialize as we're gonna use that to our success cordarrell Patterson with the catch down the field Ritter with a completion I I barely even believe it 27 yards for the converted back to receiver running back for Daryl Patterson great throw from Ritter found a spot in the field that was open and uh Patterson with a big play I also love that the linebackers seem to fall for play action wouldn't be running the football but big play on the defensive line for Carolina lindvog Joseph actually seems to be injured jogging to the locker room that could be a big loss for the interior defensive line of the Panthers here former Giant Legend it's also played for the Vikings and the Chargers and that might be it we're thrown over the middle it's Matt Collins now we're doing something Mac Hollins for a big gain as well 20 yards and Ritter can't seem to complete the easy throws but guess what you got to throw 20 yards or more down the field getting those type of pickups Desmond Ritter seems to be your guy good block Bijan close to the line to gain inside the five for Atlanta I mean we got to go to Bijan here right we got Johnny Smith in the backfield he's gonna motion over just run right behind him and we got blockers and we have the first touchdown for Bijan Robinson who's winning the battle right now Bryce young or Bijan let me know down in the comments section below the answer is easy it's Bijan Robinson although that Miles Sanders play makes price Young's numbers look exceptional but Bichon starting to get it going here he loves it Calais Campbell loves it that's only a difference of what like 17 years the latest Campbell I think it's 37 bijons probably like 21 maybe we're blitzing yet after Bryce Young checks down to Hayden Hurst we're all over it we gotta remember to carry routes vertical on this vert hook we're gonna check down we're underneath it but it is a first down shooting the Gap Kade and Ellis nice play had a little bit of help in there as well I think that was Grady Jarrett but Kaden Ellis having a nice game that's a tackle for loss to go along with the sack of Bryce young earlier and it's a shame he's doing it because we need Arnold advocating to make some plays and that is going to be a really nice throw from Bryce Young not much we can do there first quarter is over I would say don't even look at the numbers other than seven to seven it's a fresh start clean slate we are going to stop making the mistakes we did in the first quarter or at least early on in the first quarter and we're about to have a really really nice half here's a run nice play Calais Campbell the old man still got it third and two oh it's read option turn around Mike Hughes takes out the legs of Bryce young but it's a first down young seems fine we need an injury like make sure the helmet hits the knee next time come on play dirty it's okay it's football it's a game we're trying to win whatever whatever necessary okay that's a huge play I don't really know how that happened make a play oh we did Mike Hughes knocked the football loose okay I mean we're gonna pass him in here I don't know why we wouldn't we know it's coming they're going from empty tried to bait it with Ellis couldn't get back there hey we were blitzing anyway leviska Chanel into the end zone another new Carolina Panther or somewhat new at least of course Jaguars second round pick out of Colorado never really found his footing there but who knows Carolina could be looking nasty if you can develop some of these guys you have Terrace Marshall laviska Chenault doesn't sound amazing but then you throw in the newly drafted Jonathan Mingo who you've yet to see in this game they might have something going on in Carolina with Bryce young Bichon starting out eight for 38 does have a touchdown as well and we are going to start a lot of drives with runs a lot of first downs are going to be runs and I'm not going to say you know I'm not going to give you a percentage we tried to cut back across them but they stopped on a dime as well I don't I don't buy that we also want to get the ball to Kyle Pitts when we can I guess fall didn't come out quickly enough and you know what it probably should have come out quickly to Bijon Robinson as well just sometimes you don't want to force the ball as Cordero can't come down with it it was a throw at a sack animation so the ball just kind of floated up there and great another dislocated shoulder it's our best offensive lineman Chris Lynch from he's done at least for the game now it wasn't serious for algier I thought that was much more of a serious injury last year but I guess not in Madden 24 as this is a decent punt results in a fair Catch and there's not really much we can do when we're backed up so far make a play intercepted by Jalen Hawkins Bryce Young's first big mistake comes here in the second quarter Jalen Hawkins is the beneficiary takes away the football I mean Bryce young what were you doing nothing was open it was looking like I was playing quarterback for a minute I mean there's no space going for Adam thielen Hawkins ran the route better than he did back-to-back runs here looking for space we were about one move away from making something big happen gonna be third and short I don't mind that run and just wish it was slightly more successful it looked like we were primed for big things third and one we're gonna go right back to Bijan and that should be a first down easily he makes a man miss as well doesn't get much more after that and I could also see read option being really successful here Bijan gonna get it Brian Burns played the contain second and ten who wants to get open so many routes in the same spot but Kyle Pitts gets free down the sideline Kyle pits inside the ten those two route just kind of ended up going right next to each other kind of scared me to throw that football because bichon's got to be a lot flatter Kyle Pitts has got to work that up the field a little bit still ends up working out we get 29 yards off of it because 49 obviously he's not gonna have eyes in the back of his head in this year this game like in past years sure that's a dumb throw because I gotta know that I'm gonna get cheated but this year hopefully that doesn't happen so much and we now have first and goal inside the seven yard line and uh we'll try to turn this into a touchdown just try to hard cut completely stopped all momentum don't like that we'll go to a dive this time I mean they're just we're not any blockers at all so hard to run when you don't have blockers again write that down I'm giving you guys Priceless words of wisdom third and goal now check down and we missed him just poor accuracy reason why under pressure no uh bad time no just Ritter sucks young way who's kick is good all right inching back in it field goal on the board now it's going to be 14-10 again that's okay gotta keep it close points off turnovers is the big thing though I would have loved to get the last touch of the first half and that still could happen as we wrap up Sanders for short yardage I would say with getting the football back to start the second half if we can somehow stop them and get points in the first we're gonna be in a really good position to win this game it's all about getting into the driver's seat [Applause] to be wide open we're gonna keep blitzing because we need Arnold advocating to make a play and I think eventually he will a sack puts us right where we need to be but there's no guarantee that we're gonna be able to do that so we're just gonna keep trying to shoot gaps and I would say uh try to get a couple tackles for Lawson here I don't like him one-on-one against aquano I just think that's a tough matchup it's a nice hit but caught 48 seconds to play epicady against Ika macquanu is just such a tough matchup for us I I need to get him on the other side of the field just plain and simple I don't know that he's ever gonna win that matchup but Taylor Moten is not easier on the other side maybe slightly but not easy I guess hey we're just in a really tough spot the protection's good that's an issue for us and it's just the Hayden hurt show right now he's getting the ball every play six catches for 50 yards here in the first half to the flat we better make a play that'll work 25 seconds Fox is going to run here one time out for Carolina as long as we keep him out of the end zone it's fine that's what I've decided on no touchdowns Aiden Ellis nice play we knocked it down no pick that's fine I couldn't break out an easy read for the first time this year it'll happen it'll happen you'll be getting Dr Seuss books before you know what to do with them and if you've never seen that before you don't know what I'm talking about you'll see you'll find out you're gonna learn for Daryl Patterson why is it blocked to the outside no there was a chance we could return that to the house to end the first half I just thought he's gonna get blocked back towards the inside and give us a lane to the outside easy touchdown didn't end up happening and we were down by a touchdown going into the half not a terrible first half for us not great by any means offensively we made a ton of mistakes and I think a lot of that kind of revolves around the quarterback we have and some of it may surely but also some really badly thrown passes that just you can't attribute it to anything but low ratings and that is just an unfortunate thing right now and we're gonna try and get better in in that capacity but there's not really much we can do in the second half to change that Desmond Ritter is not going to make some miraculous change okay so we just gotta you know keep trying it and hope we get better results in half number two football to start here in the third quarter and we got to make the most of this possession we'll counter run yeah block that any worse not sure that would actually even be possible very annoying there and I don't know what's going to be open here Isle pits okay third and five if Brian Burns rushes We Gotta Throw This Land well he did but the safety came up Von Bell with the pick I locked into one thing no matter what I just thought we'd be able to get it in there really quickly right behind Brian Burns and that obviously didn't happen that's a mistake on me I just didn't even think about the possibility of the safety sprinting up into the box to play a mid-read and that's that's really tough because he took away exactly where I was going with the football and I mean how many times are they gonna run a play that brings a strong safety immediately into the box like that I'm not sure but obviously the worst possible time for that and that is one of what I'm sure will be many interceptions this year hate to say it but we're not living in la la land right we're living in reality I'm gonna throw a hundred picks this year third and four where's their passing and that's actually going to be a touchdown we're not fast enough to keep up with Ian Thomas [Applause] okay it's 24 to 10. trying to keep composed that's a tough one no momentum right now at home in our debut read option though we're forced to just do whatever that is because I felt like hey maybe block towards the closest guy and just don't go searching outside for somebody to block really annoying I felt like that should have been a lot more than six yards here's a run with Bijan just searching for space we get the first little Juke from Bijan how about another one nope no stamina they're gonna rotate the safeties over go single High pretty much gonna be obviously cover three here but we were running the ball and we just I don't know how we can't go to the open space there get the hard cut but he just didn't do it or I guess he did but 76 got held up we just ran right into the back of him instead of navigating the open space frustrating third and four from what the 38 or something we could afford to run here because it's four down territory and I mean we don't find anything dewan's fruit injured on the play and uh We're Not Gonna punt that much should be obvious it's so tough for me to run the ball with this team for some reason it's all they can do yet here I am and we can't do it I just feel like the lanes have not been established and that's really tough so far step up and we're sacked shy Tuttle all right Carolina takes over man coverage across the board keep young in the pocket please get a throwaway we're not out of the game yet but somebody's got to make a play somebody needs to make something happen get epicady rushing over the nose if we can over the center here might have an easier match up and that's going to be actually completed DJ shark touchdown we had a diving attempt at an interception and it didn't go well obviously those DJ sharks doing whatever this is in the end zone couldn't even describe what that is to somebody if I had to I have no idea what that is it's 3110 Carolina person ten let's get a block here oh there we go Patterson with the block Bijan Off to the Races stiff Army JC horn and it's a big play for Bijan as he goes over a hundred in his NFL debut all we need are a couple of blocks to get to the next level Bijan shook off one skirted past cordarrell Patterson and then it was a foot race that obviously is not going to win in that spot JC horns got the angle just probably a faster player in general anyway and a bijan's gassed at that point in the run so he's out there he's playing his about as well as he could but the offense is still struggling I mean they're stacking the Box a lot we're gonna throw out for Mac Hollins that's going to be very close to a first down as that is that's attempt number 11 here in the third quarter you know we could throw the ball more but I don't know why we would it's not really been an effective way to move the ball Ritter just cannot be relied upon at this point First and Ten quick throw to the flat I mean pitch is gonna be there Kyle Pitts is somebody I want to get the ball to a lot obviously just haven't really seen a ton of opportunities to do that yet although this could be one bijan's wide open by the way we might just throw it to him quickly he's wide open lob it up and it's a touchdown for Bijan number two of the game this one through the air Bijan Robinson carrying us back into this game number seven first seven well six but you know we're counting on young waku to get that kick in London just worked as a shield the entire way I love it they just didn't cover him I know he's a running back but if you leave him wide open on the outside what do you think's gonna happen and you know Texas did actually line him up outside on rare occasions but guess what he made the place this is a guy who can be a dynamic receiver even as a running back I promise you we'll see what happens in real life obviously but I plan on getting really creative with how we use Bijon Robinson in this series you're number one cordarrell Patterson's playing a lot of slot receiver but if we go gun empty and kick Bijan out there's no reason why he can't play in the slot or even as you just saw on the boundary intercepted under pressure from epicady and he throws it right to Jeff okuda the new Falcon making his presence felt here in Atlanta gives us the football back we're down 31-17 still don't get me wrong we're now set up to start making some plays that's a great play on the outside and now Jalen Mayfield is injured we are now going to be down to our third string Right Guard and I'll tell you it's not a Right Guard anymore it's gonna be a left guard guys are gonna have to move over injuries are crushing us here early quick throw to Bijan not much there now this is supposed to be a screen here to Bijan but Kyle Pitts kind of uncovered in the slot and we're gonna throw it to him quickly yet it's missed why off the back foot immediately Desmond Ritter is killing me Jayla Mayfield's out for the game Jovan
