okay guys welcome back I hope you're all having an amazing holiday season and today I wanted to share with you guys be really fine a holiday brunch and just show you guys how I would set the table and yeah it's gonna be so much fun so if you guys enjoyed today's video be sure to give this video a thumbs up and also consider subscribing before you go and let's go ahead and jump into it so the night before I'm just making sure to go through and wash all of my produce chop all of my veggies and just kind of get an idea of what I'm gonna be serving and make sure that I go through my list and I haven't forgotten anything I'm also going to be making a sausage and egg casserole and this needs to set for at least 24 hours in the refrigerator so I'm gonna go ahead and assemble that right now and this casserole is so easy to make you guys and what I love about is that you can totally adjust it to your taste so you're just gonna need some bread and any bread that you have this is great to use leftovers if you have like croutons or white bread of course we're gonna need some egg also some maple sausage a mixture of cream and milk extra sharp cheddar cheese and some red peppers and onions for flavor [Music] as always I'm gonna have all the ingredients and exact measurements listed in the info box for you guys so we're starting off by browning our sausage and I'm actually going to be using maple sausage so I am putting my pan on medium-high heat I'm adding some ghee and then once it hen is nice and hot I'm gonna start by sauteing my onions and my red bell peppers and then I'm just adding some salt and pepper to that just sauteing this until it is nice and translucent that I'm gonna kind of set it to the side of the pan I'm adding my maple sausage once my maple sausage is nice and brown I'm gonna go ahead and turn the stove off and put that to the side and then get started on my egg mixture so in a bowl I'm gonna be adding all of my eggs I'm also adding my cream milk also some mustard for flavor and salt and pepper and I'm gonna go ahead and give it a really good whisk I highly recommend using a square shape casserole dish if you have it if not definitely just use whatever you have and we're gonna start layering everything so we're gonna take our bread and a little tip I can give you guys use at least day-old bread if you happen to get it fresh try to leave it out without covering it so it gets a little bit harder and then go ahead and layer the bottom of your pan with the bread and then I'm gonna go ahead and add my brown sausage on top of that I'm adding my grated cheddar cheese I definitely recommend using extra sharp if you can and also feel free to layer the cheese if you want it to kind of be incorporated throughout the whole casserole and that is the very top I'm adding some raw red bell peppers just for some extra color to make it look super festive and I'm just gonna cover that and put it in the refrigerator and we will have this sitting overnight for at least 24 hours and then the next day you want to make sure to bring it out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes just until it comes down to room temperature and it will cook nice and evenly in the oven now this does need about an hour and a half total to cook on big I put it in the oven for 350 degrees for 50 minutes you do want to cover it with aluminum foil the first round after the 50 minutes are up you're gonna take it out of the oven remove the aluminum foil and bake it for another 20 to 30 minutes so that the top can get nice and crispy so I feel like that casserole is pretty hearty I feel like it's gonna be very filling but I did want to incorporate some greens into this brunch so I'm gonna be roasting some asparagus very simple we're just gonna have our oven at 400 degrees we're gonna coat our asparagus with olive oil salt and pepper you had a really good toss and then we're also going to be doing some red onions in the same pan again we're doing the same exact thing we're adding salt and pepper olive oil and you can even add a little bit of like garlic powder to it and just give that a good toss we're gonna put it on the same sheet this only takes 15 minutes so you can do this right after your egg casserole is completely done so once this one is done baking I like to top it with a little bit of sun-dried tomatoes and also some almond I feel like it just gives it a really nice flavor and it also looks a lot more festive I love incorporating some type of greenery into my table escape so actually found these at HEV they're real and I just make sure she keep them in water up until the moment that I was going to be using them I added one to each side and I just think it looks so beautiful it's very understated but at the same time feels very festive then I started kind of arranging everything where I wanted it and I went ahead and started serving all the foods so on one side of the table I went ahead and assembled a little yogurt station I used a vanilla yogurt I feel like it's a safe flavor you don't need to add extra sweetener to it so that's one less thing to add to the table and it just tastes really really yummy then I'm arranging an assortment of berries around it and I just think it looks so beautiful and so fun definitely feel free to use whatever fruit is in season and then I also wanted to add some little toppings I feel like this just makes it a little bit more special so I added some chocolate chips and also some blueberry cinnamon granola by the way you guys if you've never tried vanilla yogurt with chocolate chips and raspberries you're missing out you need to try that combination it's so good so on the other side of the table I added a little display of pastries I bought blueberry scones and also some mini muffins there was like cinnamon muffins just very seasonable pastries and I got these all from the grocery store [Music] just to make it feel a little bit more special I put out three different containers with different spreads so I put butter and wine Nutella and the other and cream cheese and the third and I just kind of make sure to make it look really nice and appealing and I just feel like this is a great way to incorporate things that you buy already made I just add that special touch to them [Music] I also wanted to include seasonings and hot sauce and things like that but I didn't want the bottles messing with my display so I found this little container at home good it holds the perfect amount of seasonings and I made sure to include some little baby spoons that you can use to serve everything so yeah I just think this makes it so much our fun [Music] now to set the table I brought out some little bowls for the yogurt station so that people can serve themselves if they want yogurt and this is gonna keep my place setting a very simple I just wanted to have my cold silverware with my white plate and white napkins and that's it because the table is already gonna have all of the food I didn't want it to feel overwhelming I also wanted it to feel very casual but still special at the same time [Music] first you got to serve some coffee and I like serving at least one beverage and I think it's a lot of fun to just make your own punch so I just make some apple cider pomegranate juice and pineapple juice and again this is one of those things that you can kind of play around with and if you like more pineapple juice definitely increase a pineapple or apple whatever it is and then to sweeten it you can suit you know it's maple syrup and I love serving it like this with some couple Chico on the side which is just basically sparkling like mineral water and this will make it nice and fizzy but it also gives you an option if you don't like fizzy drinks and then you could serve it with the garnish on the side or you can garnish the actual beverage with some fresh cranberries some grapefruit slices whatever fruit you have so it kind of looks like a sangria but there's no alcohol in it [Music] and once everybody is seated and ready and the casserole is ready you can go ahead and bring it all out and everybody gets to enjoy it nice and hot I'm so yeah this casserole is very good it's almost like a savory french toast or my husband says it tastes like a fancy McGriddle um so yeah definitely try it with either maple syrup I like it savory I like to eat it with a little bit of hot sauce and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top try it both ways and let me know what you guys think hope you guys enjoyed today's video please give it a thumbs up if you did and also I have other casserole videos like last year I did a French Toast Casserole with cream cheese and candied bacon on top it is out of this world so if you guys want to check that one out the link is gonna be down below and yeah I'm gonna let you guys go have an amazing rest of your holiday season and I will see you guys in my next video bye [Music]
