so my fishing rods have broken tip when it's uh tangled with a tree branch was doing the bass fishing last week so i'm just gonna show you an easy way to have it fixed i put this aside first basically process is very simple you will have to burn off all the remaining pieces in here i think it lost about one inch in here so um first things first you hold on to it this is uh i was just gonna burn this too big so you can probably take this down for whatever remaining see how it is you can pull the whole thing out you basically burn out the groove that's hold on to this broken piece of rod tips there and then clean it up a little bit burn out a little bit more in some cases i actually have to burn all the way until all these become ashes uh but this most of the cases i found that it's just the glue that hold on to the broken rod actually is will burn out fast and if you have something that you can hold on to you can just simply you know pull it out but if you're broken right here then you have nothing to hold on to it then you just have to keep burning it and then use a find a nail or a needle go in and clean up the hole a little bit that was cool enough so let's do that do inspection make sure it's okay looks pretty okay to me all right so after you carefully inspect uh that seems to be okay this is a 220 grit sandpaper actually what you need is just some fine sandpaper not necessarily 2 220 anything about 100 less finer than 100 i think will work and what you do is actually you take the rod just do too big just get a little bit smaller you have to kind of sand it because most the rod tip actually kind of taper so if you just try to force it back in maybe a little bit too big so you will have to you know sand it down a little bit i think that's enough sanding for me to see how it is i slide whole thing back in no problem i don't want it to be too loose i want it to be a little bit tight so uh i get about halfway and then the rest of them i'm just gonna force it in later um so now it's good the next step is to get some just clean it up a little bit so just some rubbing apple alcohol a little bit of tissue the other side clean this up inspect the hole looks pretty good actually double check no problem okay okay so after making sure everything is good all right move this aside first all you need to do i'm just using some simple super glue you can use other fancy fishing watch group but this works just fine from my experience you don't have to be a lot i would be careful don't drop it on your finger and all this but it's probably just basically just one drop one job is probably more than enough and then all you need to do is just slide it back in so one little drop or maybe two that's plenty it's actually i can see this sipping out already so in my case this is a truffle rod so i don't need to worry about the orientation but if you have some of the rod that require you to travel with then you have to be careful oh the glue is actually almost getting my finger now slide it back in right out some of the excess just wait for it to dry this is it that's how you do it um we'll take a little bit for it to dry and it'll be good as new the only difference is now you have a rod that's about one inch shorter now but i think it still works okay thank you for watching please like and subscribe thank you for your support you
