Brits try Australian Fish and Chips (how is it BETTER?!)

before today's video we have a short little message for you guys we've just come back from a massive holiday but even though it was a holiday we still filmed obviously course we did obviously we've trying jolly fish and chips I was trying to work out what jolly and Andy would be Oh Shandy that just cuts me out of the equation yeah okay with that we're in Australia and we you've joined us out here I have Yona good time yeah I was until the Sun went in pretty much as soon as I right no it's like as soon as we decide to film a fish-and-chips episode I like English weather well maybe that's why we're feeling the fish and chips it's maybe it's like yeah that's true and it does feel we're kind of traitors it's our national dish and we come here from my experience at least fish and chips in New Zealand and Australia is way better than in the UK also I don't like trying new way better okay let's do it all right let's do it this is apparently the best local fish and chips in Australia and I'm excited it looks legit that looks amazing all right maybe that's like a lovely thick hokey-pokey this is not my hokey-pokey what's your like most popular the chicken burger is the most popular thing fish and chip shop Wow well we should get one chicken burger bit whoa deep fried thank you very much oh baby there's a reason it's famous we got the fish burger chicken burger grilled hooky never heard of that fish bottom up for it battered hawky and a battered cake and a deep-fried Mars bar see this is the reason why I go to the gym five times a week yes still yeah I'm about to star go to the gym tomorrow look at a half inch that really looks amazing lovely thank you oh yeah we have a grilled woman okay thank you you may have noticed I have like a kilogram of chips Darmok would kill me no well you don't have to have just chips by the sámi you know we haven't even flip a neck so good you're allergic you know what their problem is they're what I hope no one understands it a couple of chips and he'll actually be fine the tipping point is very soon after that but once he started it's almost impossible to stop what I okay this only this it's shaking salt what is chicken selected by a chicken apparently it's a thing here in Australia it's like a really classic Australian thing you get chips with chicken salt so chicken what is yellow maybe it's like chicken flavored salt all right let's give it a taste yeah ah yeah okay I was better than normal yeah it's good chicken so it's better than human salt yeah next up we've got that grilled hooky whoa look at that chunk of me there's many herbs in England I feel like what we flavor our fish with is literally just pouring on salt and vinegar well you body could get this in England but not in a fish and chip shop no you get it in at an arrest a restaurant okay hopefully was gonna happen mmm talk about tomato is a fluid right healthy option bitter lemon that's all it is oh I would come to vision ship docks regularly tastes delicious but it doesn't feel like you're killing your body John you mean that's what the chips does you feel like you're dying slowly mmm that's good the meat is just so tender all right next up we still got a lot more strike two more doctor put fish and chips we got out of the fish it's really golden yeah it's the Golden Nugget very golden guys oh right a batter is so soft and sweet yeah it's amazing Oh the batter's quit like crispy crunchy move budget super soft on that this is what fish and chips are supposed to taste like it's not drowning in grease you fry it but it's not soggy I feel like this in England this would be like gourmet visitors next up we have hake do you guys mind if I break this in half with my hands Congress I really have an urgent oh wow that looks good fish meat it's just so full of you slowly fresh so meaty it literally looked like it just swum up a tube I'll say it straight into the eye Finding Nemo every time we found Nemo yeah and he is yummy tea the meat is even softer yeah it's like it's yeah you're right it's chunkier time just as well the chicken salt chips go so well with the fish chicken and fish alone you don't normally have them together right I don't know so we're about do you got any chicken there yeah no I go with chicken salt chips that's gonna be amazing so this is the chicken burger which is apparently what this place is most famous for you know as a fish shop I'm excited oh that looks so good looked incredible it's like a painting of a burger it's like all the colors are perfect seriously it's like they photoshopped it and up the saturation yeah but how's that feel oh look at that chicken fill it at the top there Wow and in here oh oh that fish fill it burger all right let's do going in do you think Andy hmm off you know I kind of expected you to say that mmm ever if I'd written really soft succulent and there's something a little bit spicy oh I know what it is but it's really good can I just say normally if someone it's like a fish and chip specialty you don't go in and order a chicken whether you can't do two things that well mm-hmm Australia well plate yeah fish is incredible and groupers the chicken bird is incredible the fish burger surely is gonna be incredible mmm hmm Wow I think this is even better Jacob fish burgers don't go that normally yeah I win any other situation someone offers you a fish burger you ask if they're crazy it's fresh fish that's like lightly breaded I think you yeah there's a lightly bread instead of batter but then whatever else they put in here is really good at all the sauce works perfectly with the sauce London what did she say yeah welcome you're at the fest shop wait so this mr. chip shop is so good so random strangers drive by and literally congratulate you on your choice literally Wow alright guys there's one more thing ya know this is the main event I'm ready for this and I'm not gonna lie it looks amazing it's like a deep-fried turn oh okay Olli rewrite we need some explanation here this isn't a normal thing to appear on a restaurant menu yeah why isn't Scott explained to us Andy if you had a lot fitter tip shops in Scotland you can basically take something in and they will deep fry for you and out of that came the deep-fried Mars bar some genius was like can you deep-fry this I don't like okay so now they sell deep-fried mom now this is the thing that's really spreading around the shops sure it's me hot oh look at what pal looks incredible is there really hot inside yeah I said like molten lava yeah that I'm excited with this amazing i handing up they're really hot oh we don't get around the fact it looks unbelievably disgusting yeah but it tastes pretty good actually the sweet and the savory is like the perfect mixture its sugar and fat I mean it's basically ice cream that is literally a deep-fried Mars bar I don't have Mars bars where you live in the world basically a Snickers without the nuts and a little bit of new heart that is something else I would die an early death if I lived in Australia or Scotland seriously I would come here at least once a week this place was full of people on their lunch break yeah and I think if I work near here that would be me you could start quite a successful business as its doctor that right next door just give people checkups and oh my gosh we need to do a lot of work keep going this project my business is gonna you know that's going big keep the fish you could tell was super fresh really good boys a batter but it's not damped with grease and now you know what it's similar to Korean chicken in that way and we haven't solved it in the same way we haven't sold Fried Chicken in the UK I that buzzer it's fine chicken in England and fried fish up there eczema they just load it with grease and a bit soggy I feel like in England you don't have to make an effort to make it good it's just such a tradition people just do it yeah sell itself whereas here I reckon it's less of a thing it's like Christmas songs they're all that how are we listen to them anyway you don't want a half-decent christmas song you make a load of money because every year because everyone has to listen to songs at Christmas exactly all right English fishing tips is basically a Christmas song hook food if you want actually good songs then come to Australia this is the Mariah Carey of white she wrote Christmas now this has been a very very jolly fish-and-chip meal a very Jandy I cut me out there's no Holly in any of that all right guys we'll see you jolly to see you later
