hey guys welcome back to my channel for today's video we're going to be reviewing a haircare brand that a lot of you have asked me to look into called briogeo so i have a few different products from them here that i have put to the test and looked into from an ingredient perspective so that i can give you guys my thoughts so we have two different products from their don't despair repair line i have their deep treatment mask deep conditioning mask their strength and moisture leave-in mask i have one of their farewell frizz items their blow-dry perfection and heat protectant cream something from their blossom and bloom line called their ginseng biotin volumizing spray and then finally one item from the be gentle be kind line this is there avocado and kiwi mega moisture superfood mask so if you want to hear my thoughts on all of these products and if they are worth the purchase you're in the right spot let's jump right into it okay let's start with their farewell frizz blow dry perfection and heat protectant cream this has four ounces of product in it and retails for twenty four dollars this is a lightweight blow dry product that's supposed to help to style the hair and provide heat protection and is meant for people that have dry frizzy and or heat styled hair so for me i don't deal with frizzy hair all that often when it's really hot and humid here my hair definitely expands and i can have some frizz then but it's not a consistent problem of mine i would say i'm more so concerned with heat protection and just adding hydration because i do have hard water in my apartment here and i bleach my hair a few times a year to maintain the blonde so it is chemically treated anything that i can do to add moisture is great and this says it's formulated with rosehip oil argan oil and coconut oil to help to add that hydration those three ingredients are such nice emollients they help to moisturize the hair condition the hair they're going to help to add softness smooth the hair add shine really really nice ingredients that i was super excited about but i didn't get too excited at first because oftentimes we will see that on product label certain ingredients will be called out then you flip the product over and they're at the very bottom of the ingredient label which is like meaning that they're probably not going to make that big of a difference at the end of the day but in this case they are actually towards the very top of the label you guys is it sad that i was excited about that like we shouldn't have to look into that further but unfortunately we do so they are towards the top of the label super excited about that because like i said they are all really really nice ingredients that are going to condition the hair as well as just make it look nice and healthy yes and then aside from that this has so many other ingredients in it that i was really really impressed by so things that are going to help to protect and hydrate the hair like brown algae and panthenol and then even more conditioning ingredients like soybean oil and bamboo leaf extract so i was very impressed by this label and aside from that there's nothing in it that concerns me that's going to strip the hair or damage the hair i will say that all of these products do have added fragrance and essential oils in them so there are quite a few different essential oils in this citrus oils grapefruit oils things of that nature i'm okay with essential oils and fragrance and hair care number one it's very hard to find quality hair care that's fragrance free that treats our hair really well but number two i just don't have the same concerns with my hair that i do the skin on my face of course i'm acne prone on my face i have very sensitive skin so that's why i personally don't use fragrance in skincare but i mean on my actual hair i'm okay with it so that's going to be totally up to you i know that there are those of you that can't use fragrance due to certain scalp conditions and i just saw that rio gio actually came out with a fragrance free hair care line so i think they have a shampoo conditioner and one other product of course they came out with that after i purchased all of these so i haven't tried those but i'm sure that they're going to be really nice because i mean we just saw the level of ingredients here and how quality they are and how nice those kinds of ingredients are for the hair so if you need fragrance free that's out there maybe check that out but aside from that there's honestly nothing in this or any of the products that i'm going to talk about except for one which i will mention that have ingredients that are worrisome to me so nothing that i feel is going to strip the hair be extremely drying cause my color to fade more quickly than it would otherwise damage the hair cause breakage like nothing else that i was worried about which is really really amazing because that's also not something you see every day and in my opinion makes that price point which is not the most affordable more worth it so to use this product you're supposed to apply it to damp hair that you have just washed in the shower and you're supposed to apply it from root to tip all over this is a nice lightweight kind of cream if you will it's not super balmy it doesn't have a waxy texture it just feels really nice so it does add some hydration to the hair and i find that when i use it and then go ahead and blow dry it does just make my hair look shiny healthy it feels manageable it's brushable i just do really really like the way that my hair looks when i use this and it's a huge plus for me because as somebody that has hair that can get weighed down really easily and look flat and limp unfortunately very easily i need to use products that are lightweight and going to give me body but also going to add hydration which can be tricky to find and i would say this one does a really good job of that it doesn't feel sticky in the hair it doesn't look greasy doesn't feel heavy it's just really nice so i would definitely recommend this if you are on the lookout for a blow dry cream that's going to help to nourish the hair but also make it look really nice i have it in right now i washed my hair four days ago anyway okay next let's move on to the blossom and bloom ginseng biotin volumizing spray this one has five fluid ounces of product in it and retails for twenty dollars so what i did not originally realize about this product is that it's not just to add volume to the hair but it's also supposed to be a clarifying product meaning it's supposed to absorb excess oils to help you to go longer between washes which is intriguing i just saw volumizing at first and was like add to cart and then once i got it and was looking into it and doing research for this video i was like oh okay that's interesting so it's supposed to help to add volume and absorb oils so for me i already wash my hair once a week like i said and i'm not looking to extend that further but using products that do help to absorb excess oils it's nice for me in theory because i do have an oilier or greasier scalp and this is specifically meant for people that have fine thin and or limp hair so for me fine hair strands that's me right here my individual hair strands are fine to normal which multiple hair stylists have told me it looks deceivingly thick but i just have a lot of hair and obviously it's long so hair strands are fine to normal which is why i want to add volume because yes my hair can definitely look limp and fall flat unless i'm using products that are specifically meant to add volume so the ingredient here that they call out that's supposed to volumize the hair is maltodextrin which is actually a form of sugar that's supposed to coat onto our hair strands and help to add that fullness and then as far as the oil absorbing piece they say that the ingredients that help to do that are witch hazel and lemon so witch hazel is something i have talked about before on this channel it's an ingredient that for the skin is iffy because it could be something that's irritating and drying but it also does help to absorb excess oils and can also help to soothe and calm the skin so it's kind of like that one's up in the air it's not universal for everybody but no ingredient is going to be universal for everyone anyway on the hair i was like i don't know if i've ever used a product in it for the hair that has witch hazel so i wish i did more research on this product before purchasing it because once i started to dig into the ingredient label i was like oh i don't know if that's what i wanted so the second ingredient in this formulation is something called sd alcohol same kind of thing as witch hazel it's not going to be universally irritating but it absolutely can be irritating and cause dryness but in saying that it does help to absorb excess oils so i would say that's the primary ingredient in this formula that's helping to do that there is witch hazel and it is higher up on the label so it's like the two of those probably work together to help to do that but they're not going to be like formulated with sd alcohol to absorb your oils because that doesn't sound cute and that's definitely an ingredient that's kind of been demonized in the beauty industry so i'm not here to demonize any one specific ingredient but in a product that i originally purchased to spray all over my hair i was like uh i don't love that because like i said i have hard water in my apartment it's very damaging and drying i bleach my hair to maintain the blonde color a few times a year which is damaging in it of itself i want to add hydration not put things on my hair that are going to pull that hydration out of it so when i first used this because i hadn't looked into it yet i sprayed it all over my hair really i mean i got fully in here and i did not like it at all my hair definitely felt dry not super brushable i just was like what what's going on here because i was so excited about this brand and the ingredients that i had kind of seen at a high level and something just felt off so once i looked into it and realized that they recommend that you use it focusing it more on your roots i decided to switch up my technique and apply it that way so they do say to spray throughout clean damp hair with a focus on the roots for me i would recommend just like avoiding this part of your hair right here because it just didn't make my hair feel nice of course everybody's different everyone has different hair types and textures and preferences but i just would say avoid this area of your hair if you don't want it to feel a little bit more dry than normal so i actually just sectioned off my hair i didn't really have a rhyme or reason to that i just created some random sections and focused this spray just in those areas and kind of gave a little judge and then i also did spray a little bit on this part of my hair like what would we call this the top middle no you know just like this part of my hair so focusing it from like my eyeballs my nose up and then just left the rest of my hair be and used hydrating products on the rest of my hair and when i did that and then went ahead and blow-dried my hair i did really like the result at added volume but it wasn't crazy volume so i will say if you're trying to use a product for an insane transformation a ton of volume this is probably not going to be it you could use this in combination with a different volumizing product or avoid altogether but i liked the level of volume that it gave my hair when i focused it on the roots so i did use that when i styled my hair this week like i said i think that was like four days ago i think i still do have a healthy amount of volume like i like the way that it looks so for the way that the product is meant to be used and for the purpose of the product i think it definitely does its job and it works in that sense it's just going to be up to you and if you are okay using a product like this that has that higher concentration of alcohol in it knowing that it may potentially cause a little bit of dryness so if you have a super dry scalp but you're looking to add volume i would avoid this i don't think this is the volumizing product for you if you have an oilier scalp and you are looking to go longer between washes or just help to control some of those oils and add volume then this could definitely be something that is up your alley so this one i'm not as in love with as i was this blow-dry cream from just an ingredient perspective i guess i would say also the way it feels on my hair i'm not as obsessed with this one but i think there are certain people that this could work really really well for so i'm going to continue to play around with it i'll keep you guys updated in future videos maybe like an empties or something if i think i'm going to repurchase i don't hate it it's just not my favorite so aside from that there are a couple noteworthy ingredients in this formula and they're pretty much just the two that are called out here so the ginseng root extract and biotin which are going to help to condition and strengthen the hair it has glycerin but it's towards the bottom of the label so while that ingredient does help dehydrate since it's in a lower concentration it's not going to be something that hydrates enough to offset the sd alcohol into the witch hazel okay last leave-in product is from their don't despair repair line and it's their strength and moisture leave-in mask this has four ounces of product and retails for 28 dollars so this is a leave-in deep conditioning treatment to help to repair the hair it's meant for people that have dry hair severely damaged hair chemically treated hair and or lifeless hair so again dry hair is a concern of mine hair damage is a concern of mine lifeless hair i mean i wouldn't go that far because i use products to help to fix that on its own sure if i just let my hair air dry and didn't use anything on it oh that would look lifeless 100 and ingredients that they specifically call out here include argan oil algae extract panthenol and biotin so all ingredients that we have already talked about that were in these two products but there you go we have a nice variety of ingredients that are going to help to condition strengthen and nourish the hair okay i'm just going to drop those on the floor aside from that this also actually does have coconut oil and rosehip oil so the two ingredients in that blow dry cream that i was really obsessed with they're also in this and then there's a variety of other conditioning and moisturizing ingredients as well so things like shea butter which is a really rich nourishing ingredient that's going to add moisture and just help to soften and smooth the hair and caprylic triglycerides which are really nice moisturizing plant extracts so again another ingredient label here that i was very excited about something that i am happy to have in my hair care collection something that i want to spray all over my hair the one thing that i'm not in love with yet i'm not fully sold on it yet is the way that you apply this product to your hair i would say i am more so accustomed to leave on masks that i can squirt out of a bottle or pump out of a tube i don't know what i'm trying to say something i can kind of rub into my hands to finger comb through my hair to make sure that it is evenly distributed all over my hair with a focus on these ends i do have like i said those deep conditioning sprays that i really enjoy but that's not what i'm using as a leave-in mask that's more so for detangling heat protection plus just some added hair loving benefits so when it comes to a mask like this i just wasn't expecting it to be in this kind of packaging so it has this little spray at the top it looks like a mini hairspray or dry shampoo bottle and it's this really fine mist it's so interesting i've just never used a mask like this i mean don't get me wrong it feels really nice like the product itself once it's sprayed out feels super conditioning oh it smells so good too oh my gosh yum that smells amazing i feel like i would have to spray a lot out of this bottle to get that effect that i want and with only four ounces of product in here for 28 dollars i was like oh this one just feels i don't know a bit steeper to me so while i love the ingredients while the actual product itself feels amazing and that's very very important of course i would say that is top most concern i just am not fully on board yet with the way that you distribute this product on the hair so i would still recommend this one if you guys are looking for a really nice leave-in mask that has ingredients that are going to treat your hair well but if you're not going to be into that sort of fine mist then now you know maybe something to avoid if that sounds right up your alley check it out okay let's move on to the two different masks that i have so the first is their don't despair repair deep conditioning mask this one has eight fluid ounces in it and retails for 36 dollars so this is a weekly treatment that you're supposed to rinse off to repair restore and hydrate the hair and it's also meant for people that have dry severely damaged chemically treated and lifeless hair there's definitely quite a bit of ingredient overlap with this mask and the rest of the products we have already talked about so i would say this has almost everything we've already talked about plus more so this also has rosehip oil algae panthenol biotin panax ginseng root and then on top of that there are more that are really nice for the hair as well so b vitamins to help to strengthen and nourish the hair almond oil which is going to help to continue to add that softness and shine and this also has keratin in it which will help to strengthen the hair and that's why they say to only use this once a week because you don't want to be using keratin too often so for some that might even be too much and you may prefer to use that every other week that's really going to be up to you and your hair but it is a very nice reparative strengthening ingredient so really really loving the ingredient label here for this mask and this one they say to apply to the hair while you're in the shower and leave it on for five to ten minutes unless you want even deeper conditioning and in that case you could put on a shower cap leave it on for up to 30 minutes and then rinse it off and be good to go so the consistency of this one is unlike any other mask i own or have tried before i would say it's actually the thinnest hair mask that i've ever tried i mean it's not a thin product but i would say it almost just feels more like your average can not average either that's not right but yeah i mean your regular conditioner that isn't that kind of thicker waxier texture that a lot of hair masks can have it's very nice and soft it feels super hydrating on the hair it's just different i do like it as a lighter weight option i will say it's not the most hydrating hair mask that i own so the one that i have from amica i always say that wrong feels much more balmier it's a lot thicker i wouldn't go as far as to say it's waxy but it's more on that side of things so it's a totally different experience than something like this and i actually like to use both so something like that amika mask is more so going to really like act as a seal on the hair where this doesn't do that as much but could be a really good thing if you don't want to weigh down the hair because of course anything that is heavier and thicker like that is more likely to weigh down the hair than something like this so i think this is going to be more widely tolerated by a variety of hair types and i think it's a really really nice option like this is just a good staple hair mask to have in your collection and i'm freaking happy to have it i'm happy you're here and finally we have the be gentle be kind avocado and kiwi mega moisture superfood mask this one has the same amount of product eight ounces and also retails for 36 dollars this hair mask is meant to nourish the hair add moisture and make your hair more manageable and is meant for people that have dull dry and or parched hair so right off the bat kind of high level differences between these two is that this one while yes it's going to help to nourish the hair like this is more so meant for added hydration than repair like this like this is more focused on strengthening and repair this is more focused on softness moisture shine and this has an ingredient label that's actually quite a bit different from the others yes there's still some ingredient overlap but i would say the biggest difference here is that this has so many plant extracts in it that have really nice beneficial properties not just plant extracts added for the purpose of fragrance but things that are actually going to condition smooth soften the hair so of course the avocado oil and kiwi seed oil are the two highlighted ingredients here those are really nice nourishing softening ingredients and then aside from that there are more plant extracts on top of that that are going to give you similar benefits add hydration just make your hair look good so cocoa seed butter chia seed oil actually spinach extract which is a nourishing ingredient but this also does have some of those ingredients that we already mentioned like biotin panthenol aloe glycerin it also has sunflower seed oil so there's just a lot going on here that i was very pleased with and this one says that you can use it in the same way as this mask in the sense that you can leave it on for five to ten minutes but this you can use a couple times a week if you want to because it doesn't have keratin in it or is this one you only want to use at max once a week and the consistency of this is definitely quite a bit thicker than this one and i actually prefer this formulation to this i just love putting on a mask that feels intensely hydrating it is really really nice but again it's not too heavy it's not waxy it doesn't weigh down the hair it doesn't feel greasy it's super super nice so i really love this and i like having both of them in my collection now because like i said i can kind of go back and forth for which ones i'm using sometimes i will actually just use both in the shower and i like that as well kind of like this first seal it with this it's just really good this one smells super nice too oh yeah i don't even know how to describe that i do like the smell so i would say both work well on my hair i'm glad i have both of them i would recommend both if you were to choose one over the other i think it really just depends on number one if you're looking for a hair mask that has protein or keratin in it and number two what kind of consistency you prefer in a mask so if you want something that feels more like conditioner is a little bit lighter weight go for this if you want something that's a little bit thicker and feels intensely hydrating this is going to be the one for you so love this love this so that is everything those are all the products that i have from briogeo that i've been testing out for you guys so we almost have a home run here almost with the exception of that volumizing spray being potentially iffy for some but across the board i really am very impressed by this brand i'm excited about this brand and it's one i would definitely recommend i'm obsessed with almost all of these products and i mean the volumizing spray it's like we'll see like i said as i continue to use it but i think you have some really good options here for blow-dry products hair masks leave-in treatments and they have so much more on their website as
