g'day Bros and welcome to my Channel today we're going to put the 65 watt pump into my 65 liter Gen 4 bruzilla got a bite all right all right yeah yeah I was joking that's a 65 that's a 25. we're going to put a 25 watt in I saw someone do this years ago and it was exactly the same 25 watt motor as this and these old ones only have the screw thread or the one I have had the screw thread and so I had to put barbs or nipples on the ends and it just takes up a lot more space than needed and I saw Ollie do it recently on the Facebook page where he used one of their new pumps which is one of these again a 25 watt just as powerful except you know it hasn't got the thread just got barbs so I can put the hose on and clamp it on there and just save a bit of space why why would you do it well you might not need it in the mesh my pump that's in there at the moment in the 65 liter uh you know I still back it off during the mash most of the time so I probably won't be using the power of this in the mesh but for transfers yes uh when you're moving 60 liters of water speed is a good thing uh you know if you even if you it could be at the end of The Brew or the start of the Brew moving water around things like even the whirlpool it might make a really good Whirlpool so I'm going to have a play and we'll see how it goes we'll try it in a brew now before we start of course there is going to be some Electronics play with electricals that can kill you they can burn your house down they can void your warranty and they can void your insurance and I've mentioned before that I am trained in electronics and people might go they're just saying that for the video or whatever but it was years ago I did my what do they call associate diploma of electronics uh with a as a digital technician at kangan in Broad Meadows actually and I found my notes and I've got books and books and books and books of my notes uh from that course right here and right at the back you've got power control circuits and then you've got DC fundamentals and AC fundamentals alternating current so by the end of that course I was legally allowed to repair you know fix or even make and construct anything on this side of a PowerPoint I wasn't allowed to be an electrician even though you know it's only wires it's just we were trained to repair on this side of the PowerPoint so I was legally allowed to do this kind of work I've also bought some reinforced sort of braided silicon hose I have a packet of stepless clamps I was going to use these bigger stepless clamps uh you know the crimp type but they're really hard to get off so if I don't like it or I make a mistake with the configuration of the hose by mistake I mean somewhere that might catch air bubbles and cause the pump to block more often than I'd like to I might not use those when I was ordering those I noticed on keg land's website that they have these uh newer clamps I hadn't seen them on there before I used to have ones like this in the past that had a plastic handle here and after a few uses that plastic handle used to crack and come off so you'd have to use a spanner or other ones that were a screwdriver and they're a little bit of a pain and you've seen me use other ones uh that have the sort of bolt head and I had a little screw tool to use it like a key but these look much better hopefully they last a lot longer and I'll leave a link down below because these are handy in your Brewery anywhere from you know connecting up chillers and hoses you can do them up and undo them quickly and hopefully because it's got a steel handle they'll last longer link down below let's do it so that's the six watt pump and that's what we're going to try and change over let's have a look in here eh foreign to the side there and got the active and the neutral and if you follow them we'll find where they go okay there's a short one the brown okay so that terminal there and the blue because the N terminal by the looks of it I'll double check that but yeah go to that end terminal so that's going to be quite easy by the looks of it the biggest issue here is going to be hooking up the pipes of course you do not need to use the same configuration you could go only to the pump and out to the recircum and avoid the tap altogether if you wanted to or hook it up any way you like all right let's just Mark that set if we don't forget so that's a brown there there's no good putting B and B for banner and blue so I can put a for brown and the blue double check goes through there to that N1 the elf he might not be able to see that but I can now of course this is unplugged if it was plugged in there'd be a power cord in there make sure it's unplugged I don't know I've zoomed in a bit I don't know if that makes it any easier you can see that you probably see it on there yeah that's the Brown I should just slide out like and cut the wires of course there we go and it's actually looped under there that one don't forget that one needs to go back on there I'll just put it on there for now the other big problem we face are these things usually they're not usually much fun just like there's several parts to this thing there's that start bit which was sitting in this in that Groove and that sits up like that and that screws over the top all right and they can be awkward to get on but we'll see how we go you get them off easy now you want this thing on first just take your time and if you really want this thing on this is going to get Squishy squeeze it through squeeze that through as well and then this one not easy that's quite easy sometimes these things can be tricky to get one but so we have that on that now this one now it's going in Easy too foreign don't forget put them through there like that and also don't forget the nut foreign as well but you don't have to do that up yet we can adjust that they have done the chords sort of the right length you know the short one should be there just double check the short ones that are for the brown and that's there and the long ones the blue the L so that's that's good the most awkward one to get out was this N1 so it's probably going to be the most awkward one to put in so if we do that first a pain to get to sometimes can't even give it a slight Bend and then you'll be able to maybe poke it in easier there we go it's in the right spot there it is nice and firm double check yep we're in there the other one round one guys in this in one underneath the top plate a bit in between is just pour it nice and firm again check yep nice and firm I can close it up now and don't forget the Earth and make sure they're sort of facing the other way otherwise you don't want them sort of touching on the ground and wearing out nice and tight you can actually do with a washer on there well really that's it of course we can cable tie them in again probably skip that first one um yeah that'll just help keep some tidy so we can push that through fit all that one make sure that sort of sits over the top of those little feedy things feedy things that's a technical term push it out a bit sitting sitting like that I've come off those feet I think that'll be all right all good and screw them okay I'm just going to take this last one out actually I might take them all out now just so I can lose them down a bit down the side just so I don't flick them out somewhere else oh that's gonna fit in there it's just the only thing I'm worried about you might have to take that foot out if yours is any tighter than mine I'll loosen It Off but no no wearing very nice it's not pinched put those in before I lose them it's good to see that the electrics are you know pretty well done up there so we've got everything hooked up so now just to put the pump into place as you can see there is screw holes here there is you know enough holes to probably put it any way you want it nearly I think I saw Ollie do a loop I was a little bit worried about the loop and air bubbles um just depends how you want to go really I might try the loop but yeah as I said I'm a little bit a little bit dubious about a loop that we could try it on there I just don't think it foreign I think Ollie from when I just looked has taken off the picture off the website of him with the loop because maybe it didn't work maybe it was the air bubble but I can't see that that's not very good like that I can't even get that one on to be honestly but it's just not a he's not very happy with that and that's fit that's the trouble with this it's not going to bend like that though there's no harm in trying is it let's get that off see they have a bent piece like that and I just I just don't think that's gonna fit actually be all right if you could actually build a bit of extension foreign like a razor a riser these are pretty sure they're font screws I think oh and they do fit there's an extra centimeter oh I wonder I even have the old KK Rusty ones and they fit two and they're even longer because I'm going to have much more chance of these things fitting if I can raise that up by like a even just a centimeter so here's a little bit of an experiment I've been looking at washers and things I don't really have enough just to carry off this experiment just yet but I do have these large nuts that are you know they're all the same size and it will just raise it up a bit and should be quite stable it's not going to touch the ground still even if it's just for a test and then I can make it get a better mount for it at a later date now Kent this can be adjusted a little bit it has got a little bit of play but we can shift it a bit so I don't know how much we're going to cut this yeah it's too long still no still too much all right so that's a bit of a no-go all right so maybe we forget the reinforced for a bit now it's still just gonna it doesn't stood it's gonna kink way worse I kind of wonder if see this one's like shorter take this one off put that one on there and that one on there I can't it's still not very good well it seems better though I'm gonna cut a bit off and cut a bit off there that'll be enough to grab we're going to remember that this is going to be up the other way so this part here even though we could take this off and reorientate it but this part here either has to be facing that way or that way and there's not really much room when you face it that way so it's kind of got to stay like that yeah so I can just say the best thing for me is I think to try is to cut a bit off here and of course my battery ran out of my camera I didn't notice oh yeah I cut the end off that just for the Dremel I gave it a quick sand just by hand just to knock any sharp edges off you know but now that that's there this should fit on there a lot better it might remind me to put a clamp on I was gonna use one of these and then try and fit that in there yeah it fits on well easily that is much better much much better that's sitting nicely now it's hardly kinked at all those marks are from I over timed a little bit before but before I reload the camera had stopped be careful with that but yeah you can see that sitting nicely now I actually bought this this is a piece for uh but one of the the old gen threes from the pump to the reset pipe I believe or from one of them anyway I was just wondering if they'd probably sit on there nicely too you know but at the moment I'm pretty happy with how it is put that up here I've gone with this one just because yeah I haven't got much to hold on to and I think this would be a little bit tighter I don't want to go like I did before and start splitting the hose I think that'll be plenty and I often after I clean these I do turn them up to dry upside down to dry anyway so I can always keep an eye on these things but that is not going anywhere it goes onto there and that goes on to there no Kinks and that looks good to go let's get some water in it foreign [Music] comes out heaps faster one of the problems I can see a stronger pump causing is the vortex in the middle and normally I'll have the bottom end or something in there because of this demonstration I was just going to try and try it do it without it and hopefully I'm not leaking oh nope I did spill some water down the front but it's not coming out of the middle good quite the big test I guess I'm gone oh it's working nice and strong that will do a cool Whirlpool I reckon yeah it's a nice strong Whirlpool like let's go see it's starting to fall Vortex with uh 16 liters in my next batch is a single batch so I don't want any more 50 liters is more than enough I don't want to waste any more water so I don't know it's a little bit hard for you to see it's definitely going around already like I said making a current around the past the tube hello is that going to make a difference to The Brew day besides speed and transfer I don't know the whirlpool I think is a little bit better for 50 liters it's got quite a Whirlpool going up which is great for transfer it's going to be much better for the mash I'm unsure I don't think I'll you know you can't have it running for born I've never have on any of my meshes I don't think I've ever had it before on any other systems but it's a success whether it's needed or not I'll leave that up to you I'm just timing a cube Phil it was two minutes 15 seconds and I reckon that's a fair bit faster than before I could tell by watching it how fast it went up that yeah it was he's faster than it was before thanks for watching like subscribe share thanks to my patrons and I'll see you in the next one it's time for a beer cheers now they said in the newspaper that thumbs up is rude these days it offends people apparently I'm sorry I'm old cheers didn't it come from that means to keep people alive like in the Roman times or something like that
