hey Brewers it's Paul here and today we're going to take a look at the bruzilla Gen 4 control panel I've got a lot of questions on how it works and that sort of stuff and because there's no instructions in the Box you need a video like this to help you out so first when we take a look just in general you can see the date the time is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connected which I'll show you how to do that later it'll show you the current temperature what your heat percentage is at so right now it's at 100 I don't see why you wouldn't want it on that unless maybe during your Mash if you find your temperatures fluctuating you could take it from 100 down to let's say 70 60 on the pass versions there used to be a 1000 and a 500 watt heater that you'd usually turn off the thousand watt during the mash so if that's something you wanted to do you would push this button right here and that'll cycle between the Heat your target temperature and the pump percentage so using the arrows on the left you can change that down you see as I'm going down the wattage is also going down but we want that set to 2400 Watts push it again let's say I was about to mash in I'd lower that using again the up and down buttons here and go down to you know 150 152 whatever you're mashing at uh and then the last thing you can adjust is the pump percentage uh some people ask me does that slow down the pump no it just makes it pulse so it's always at 100 it's just the lower the number it'll shut off the pump for a little bit of time turn it back on uh so that's something I'm just gonna also keep at one hundred percent the enter button here will get us into the settings so the profile if you had saved a beer recipe to your wrapped cloud account you can download it onto here and then start it I don't know if I have any in here uh but if you did you would press enter on whatever recipe you wanted to start just go back then in the settings there's a bunch of stuff so I'll just scroll all the way to the top so the first thing you see is temperature sensor from what I understand they either have just come out with or will soon come out with a secondary temperature sensor that you can connect to the brazilage Gen 4 and that's where you change it right now I guess it doesn't exist so we can't uh the show graph let me get out of here so I like seeing this I like seeing what the temperature is of the unit and nice big numbers but if we go into the settings here and turn on show graph we'll show you a graph of your temperature so you could take a look and see if there was any you know big changes in temperature during your Mash or whatnot I don't really care about that information I'd rather see the temperature in big numbers so back into the settings I'm going to turn that off units you can change from Imperial and Metric I've just read so many home brewing books from since I started Brewing that I'm just my brain works in Imperial so I leave it to that zoom level that's for the graph you can go as little as seven hours or up to several days again I'm not too sure why you'd want to do that but if you wanted to that's how the heating hysteresis from what I understand changing this value will determine when the heater turns on so let's say you were you want to match at 150. if I have it set to one Fahrenheit the heater will turn on once it gets to 149. if we turn that up or down I wouldn't put it to zero I think that'll just keep messing it up I think somewhere between one or two degrees is where you want to be I have mine set to one but again just using the up and down arrows you can change that and if I'm wrong about this please let me know uh heater enabled not sure why you'd want that if I push this right now there's no water in here it'll just turn on the heater um usually you would just turn on the heater by pushing the play pause button but hey you could do that if you wanted to Bluetooth enabled again I don't know why you would want this disabled unless you are for sure never going to use it but then again just leave it enabled anyway uh the sensor differential we don't have a secondary sensor on here same thing with the timeout not 100 sure on that I think it's once they add some more temperature sensors that you could add to the unit uh sounds enabled this will just make a sound when you get to mash temperature and boil I like to hear that you can turn it off or on from there uh now the calibration points I haven't tried yet but I did notice that both my Gen 4 bruzillas seem to be off by about two or three degrees Fahrenheit so let's say it was reading 154 if I checked with the calibrated thermometer it would actually say 156. so what I believe you can do is fill you know add a gallon or so water check the temperature of the water with a known calibrated thermometer and if it's off from what your Brazil is displaying you'll be able to go in there change the temperature so let's say I had a thermometer in there and was reading 34. I could change this to 34. hit enter and then it would be calibrated but we don't want to do that right now same thing for calibration point two you'd bring it up to a boil and then make sure that it read 212 if it didn't let's say a red 210 you could change it or 214 you could change it um and then if you mess that up you can just erase the calibration that you just did uh all of these things I haven't really looked into I'm not too sure what these NTC reference temperatures are for or resistance uh it might have something to do if you have the PID heating enabled might change some parameters there but I haven't had enough time to mess around with that and there's not a lot of documentation um so I usually have PID heating off [Music] and then from here yeah just some Wi-Fi settings again you could forget your Wi-Fi config disable Wi-Fi and then let's say you're selling your bruzilla you can clear the registration from your account uh low temp and high temp alarm not too sure what's left that's for maybe when you're chilling your wart you could set that to you know 68 Fahrenheit or whatever you chill down to if you're not near it you'll hear the beep same thing for a high temp maybe set that to Boiling so that when I hit some boil I'll make a sound or when you're close to a boil or something like that this will force a check for an over-the-air update so if there's a firmware update you can click on that it'll check it does it automatically so you don't really need to do this but if you wanted to make sure you're up to the newest firmware there you go our firmware is up to date that's pretty much it for those settings uh in the Bluetooth should be connected to my phone but it's not showing up there take a look at that later Diagnostics okay so that just shows us the MAC address uh the IP address that sort of thing what version so nothing we really need to know in the about same thing just shows you for more stuff and whatnot okay so I'm gonna unpair this from my phone and my account and then I'll show you how to add it to your wrapped account and pair your Bluetooth to it when you plug your bruzilla Gen 4 in for the first time you're going to see this message that says connect this device to the Internet by using your phone to connect to the Wi-Fi network so we'll go into our phone Wi-Fi settings here and then we should say something that says see somebody says keg land wrapped there we go and then I had already put in a password for this so it should connect if not you put in the password that's indicated at the bottom here this was asking me to sign in okay so now we're going to connect it to our Wi-Fi which for us is g to g I'm going to put in our password no peaking then it should connect to our Wi-Fi 6s awesome all right now what's it asking us to register your device by pressing the select button to enter the main screen and then selecting register device from the main menu right at the top register device now we need to open the wrapped um either app or website I already have the app on my phone and then there should be a registered device here and we want to register a brewzilla okay so next and then we just need to pop in the MAC address and validation code which I'm sure my cameraman will blur out so I'll just pop that into my phone all right so once that information is filled out we'll just hit next then we're going to name this I'll call it brusilla gen uh four 120 volts because we have a 120 and a 240. and then hit finish and then if you get errors here just wait it'll eventually connect oh connected first time so now we can see my bruzilla Gen 4 120 volt so put in whatever Target you want so let's say 150 you hit set you can see it change the target here to 150 and then if you want it to start heating you could push that button so and then hit OK which I know I wanna stop it right away because there's no water in here but this comes in handy let's say you want it to brew as soon as you got home from work you can fill up your Mash water and then when you're getting ready to leave for work you can just quickly open up the app set the temperature you want hit go and then by the time you get home it's ready to go and go in so comes in handy the other cool thing is you can make a a profile which I believe I have one in here um just remember how to do this okay so if you hit play choose your device so I want the that one there profile so I just have one that's uh 150 F match and a 60 Minute boil and I'll just call this uh today sure you could call it whatever you want the name of your recipe or something and that's it it started it for us so 150 again I want to turn off the heat there's no water in here so I think that sums up pretty much everything you need to know about the control panel uh again I'm at some point I'm going to try to go in and really understand what those PID settings are for it's the only thing I couldn't find much clarification on but other than that if I missed anything please let me know leave a comment I try to answer all of them as soon as I can otherwise please like And subscribe to our channel to see more content like this cheers
