[Music] [Music] cheers man cheers [Music] that's really good man that's really good it kind of reminds me of like when you're a kid and you're like at a you had a family campfire family fire or something you're roasting marshmallows and you and you see your granddad's little pocket ball of scotch just laying there on the chair and you grab it and you take a swig real quick and you're like oh there's someone did someone see me and you stuff your face full of marshmallows that's what i'm getting here [Music] we had uh well let's see here i'm gonna run through my my steps okay taking notes having steps i'm kind of blown away notes and steps i did this on my own it was a challenge filming i'm a horrible brewer not much better videographer all right so the first thing i did put the grains in the crush matic 5000. seven pounds eight ounces of biscuit tea marisatter we had a pound four ounces of flaked oats a pound of chocolate eight ounces of crystal eighty eight ounces of roasted barley all right so then the next step was uh the massification so 156. just trying to get a little fuller body a little sweet more sweetness type of deal or i just felt good about it why did i choose that number that was completely arbitrary as this guys are most things that yeah gotcha it worked out it worked out yeah [Music] yeah so i think the hops went in 60 minutes one ounce fuggles okay 30 minutes in another ounce of fuggles okay that's when i added so like during the last half of the boil is when i toasted the marshmallows i actually used butane i did some reading on this if you're gonna if you're a chef and you're gonna make like some food and you're gonna like you're gonna blast it with heat yeah with the torch afterwards you have a couple options i think the two most common are propane and butane propane i think is the better option in terms of not leaving an aftertaste of any sort gotcha butane will work like for like a creme brulee creme brulee or whatever i don't know what creme brulee is so that heats up like okay i see right yeah [Music] [Music] and then added the lactose okay at that time as well turn the heat on finish the boil and that was that the marshmallows are pretty they do a lot society has benefited greatly from they absolutely you got cereal clearly you got hands down you got movies uh-huh what's wait movies like it's the stay puft marshmallow man thanks marshmallows yeah i like to think that marshmallows are the love child of clouds and diabetes diabetes [Music] i applied some coolnessity and uh chilled it down to i don't know roughly 70. seems fair added british ale yeast white labs wlpoo5 cold crashed it kegged it yeah see as you as it warms up it's nice it's nice when it's cool but yeah because it warms up it opens up too yeah and you get more of that sweet kind of marshmallow no i i feel you on that diabetes yeah all right so plan a holy was to just dump this bottle in there that's a lot yeah it's a lot yes it's 750 milliliters um it feels like it looks like a type that's like a gallon yeah yeah so what this is it's uh uh well can you read that lay [Music] lay drop day is it does that drop is that they drop day toasted marshmallow yeah toasted marshmallow premium gourmet oh it's premium it's premium and that's why i got it because it was several steps are from just standard it's premium so i'm sure a little goes a long way [Applause] that much i don't know yeah sure we'll start there yeah oh god so you were gonna put it like in the boil um or in the furnace i mean as per usual i had no plan gotcha gotcha definitely uh the aroma that comes through [Music] hey [Music] i mean this is not good yeah kind of makes my tummy hurt that's great man that's great without it it is it's really good so if i do this again which i probably will i would probably like dial back some of the grain and probably triple this and i might i'm kind of tempted to maybe just blacken them yeah toast the out of them because that's really what i want man that's yeah that toasty yeah that roasted toasty flavor yeah if you're looking for a good winter beer so technically this is a milk stout so if you're looking to brew a nice roasty toasty sweet stout with some actually is it milk salt and sweet sound are they two different things no i'm not i don't care that's what i'm saying i hate it i don't care at all it's yeah it's a sweet style yeah totally top to my taste buds i don't give a sh this one yeah i just wanted to taste good i don't care like what the style is that's what the ibus are what the abv that's the beautiful thing about homebrewing you don't have to people often comment on this channel on there like oh you're not professional you know you're doing this wrong you're [Music] if you're looking
