Breakfast at Circa: Downtown Resort Walkthru & Saginaw's Deli!

[Music] good morning everybody and welcome to another sunday morning vlog happy sunday good morning everyone we're not on the strip right now we are in our studio obviously but paula did go down to i went downtown to the fabulous new circa first first time first trip down to circa since they opened at the end of december and really excited to tour it a little bit and continue our breakfast series yeah and i've already seen this is friday and i've already seen the footage and it's looking pretty good i have not seen the edits so i'm excited to see what dale has done with all my footage so i think what's this is going to be this is going to be episode 3 of the breakfast series and i think probably the last one for right now right yeah we'll we may resurrect this a little later but we're just going to do three for now wanted to end with a bang so we'll be down at circa and then we're having breakfast at a fabulous delicatessen all right this adventure starts right the days are slowly getting longer and if you want to catch a spectacular las vegas sunrise like this one you need to be out early we are headed to downtown las vegas this morning for a long overdue visit to the fabulous new circa resort check it out it absolutely dominates the view on main street this is the tallest building on fremont and the first new hotel casino built here in 40 years [Music] but even before we get there we have to talk about garage mahal directly across the street from circa it is the brightest cleanest parking garage we have ever been in it's sandwiched on two acres between the plaza and main street station with nine floors and almost one thousand parking spaces and here's an fyi you do have to pay to park [Music] accessible from the second floor is this cool pedestrian sky bridge across main street let's take a minute to check out the view looking north and south [Music] you can actually feel the downtown excitement ramping up even before you go in [Music] all right before we go exploring let's take a quick look at circa from the outside the fremont street experience even at 7 am the fabulous canopy and music selections are setting the mood and making us really really glad to be here [Music] circus address is eight fremont street right at the corner of maine it is in the spot that the las vegas club mermaids and glitter gulch used to occupy circa is owned by detroit natives and brothers derek and greg stevens who also owned the golden gate and the d construction began two years ago in february 2019 and the casino opened in october 2020 the hotel in december pretty amazing turnaround considering all that 2020 has handed us circus outdoor bar running almost the length of the building is the longest outdoor bar on the entire fremont street experience project bbq is the only permanent food truck on the fremont street experience and its first ever carolina barbecue it actually opens at 11 and we want to come back just to walk by and smell the smoke [Music] circa occupies a tiny 2.78 acres but with 35 floors it can pack in 512 guest rooms and a whole lot more this is the hotel lobby rooms are all equipped with a mini fridge and tablet computers to control your environment [Music] now if you've been watching this little series you know we just love to put in a few clips of the staff making everything perfect for the day so here are a couple we captured just for you [Music] circa's casino is a total of seven thousand square feet on two levels it can't compare in size to those big daddies down on the strip but it is colorful and inviting with all the latest slots and table games as well this lady certainly commands all the attention on the main floor of circa and in case you haven't met her this is vegas vicki she made her debut on fremont in 1980 out of the imagination of the infamous bob stupec she's 25 feet tall and originally resided right near here over glitter gulch and sassy sally's in 2016 she was acquired by the stevens brothers and since then she's had a fabulous makeover now she resides over her own namesake bar right here in circa's lobby vegas vicky's has an elegant mid-century design retro lighting and vintage cocktails this is a terrific spot for a mid-afternoon pour now this the mega bar is just inside the doors when you enter from fremont street experience it is the longest indoor bar in nevada at a whopping 165 feet it actually tops the long bar over at the d which used to hold that title there are 120 beer taps 53 video games and it's open 24 7. how could anyone ask for anything more [Music] if you've heard any hype about circus since it opened you will know about this place the three-story stadium-style sportsbook the biggest in las vegas you can seat 1 000 people in here i'll tell you what i wish we'd have been here just a few days ago during the super bowl this massive set of hdtv screens cost 20 million dollars and takes 10 people to operate it derrick stevens always intended circuit to be the center of sports wagering in downtown las vegas and it's on its way to making that a reality there are three circus sports locations now including the golden gate and the d and online wagering as well well we are going to need to book a room here once the weather warms up because we cannot miss this the website calls this the best pool in history stadium swim is circus pool area built on the casino rooftop with six pools on three levels and room for four thousand guests you can watch all the games while you're lounging poolside and gather at the swim up bar here on the second level is a bit of shopping you know in case you need a souvenir [Music] a new shirt [Music] a bathing suit or anything else you can't live without [Music] okay if you saw breakfast at house of blues i peeked in the ladies room i wasn't gonna do it again but come on how intriguing is this entry art so here you go circa ladies room second floor [Music] and outside it a cool red phone booth minus a phone hmm one more attraction on the second floor that you cannot miss this incredible gallery of lego art [Music] banker turned artist chris elay channels the inner child in all of us and makes life-size lego sculptures out of famous las vegas personalities we actually saw this fabulous marc-andre fleury on tv last week before the golden knights game and here it is in person this is an amazing whimsical gallery [Music] let's take a quick look at circus food offerings before we grab our own breakfast on the upper casino floor of circa you'll find a number of tasty food choices [Music] right here as you enter from the second floor skywalk is jackpots circus version of a coffee stand jackpot serves lots of tasty grab-and-go items and michigan's own small batch zingerman's coffee something the stephen brothers brought in specially for circa this has got to be a great place to work because we got a song as soon as we walked in the door [Applause] victory burger is just to the left of the sportsbook it's the ultimate sports restaurant with burgers wings and appetizers and of course a huge selection of brews on tap eight east is in a quiet corner near the high limit slots and is circus offering for fresh and flavorful pan-asian cuisine it's also open for lunch and dinner barry's downtown prime is on the lower level of the property and is the largest restaurant at circa it's got vintage 1950s and 60s glamour and the finest steaks and seafood it's open for dinner nightly 5 to 11. check out this place it's saginaw's delicatessen founded by the legendary sandwich shop icon paul saginaw we absolutely love the decor in here and it's a huge space the sandwiches are two handers and even after a matter of weeks they're already famous for traditional deli favorites like rubens matzo ball soup and lattes but today we're in search of breakfast and the security guard who greeted us at the garage mahal skywalk said this is the place to be for breakfast it's a 24 hour operation and no reservations are needed so grab a menu we're going in hello everyone don't know if you can hear me there's lots of music playing but i just wanted to pay homage to this amazing french toast breakfast fifteen dollars for the french toast an extra three for the bacon oh wow it smells amazing i am going to dig in i did talk while i was eating my food but the motown music was super loud in saginaws in fact the music in general in circa is incredibly loud but suffice it to say i really enjoyed the french toast the berries there were blueberries raspberries and strawberries it was delicious crispy bacon really really delightful breakfast well good morning everybody it's me i just left circa the music was so intensely loud everywhere even in garage mahal that i had to leave the property in order to be able to give you my impressions of my breakfast i actually had to stop and check with the fella i ordered it from because there was almost a crust on the french bread that was made of brown sugar butter and cinnamon and it actually had a little bit of crunch when you cut into it it was very unique incredibly delicious there were six wedges i could only make it through two of them they were so delicious and so filling bacon very crispy um they give me a cup of tea and an extra pot of water which i love because i always want to um it was a wonderful experience at saginaw's deli for breakfast and actually everyone there that i interacted with at circa could not have been nicer it must be a good place to work because they were all just incredibly sweet and nice hello future paula here it's been several days since i had that initial impression as you can see i had such a good time down there i just love these early morning dogs with the interacting with all the people that work there the breakfast was fabulous and i loved circa and i just want to say this was all paula's idea i needed a break i needed just i need some time off just to unwind a little bit so paul decided that she would all this on on her own go down there on her own and i'm telling you she did a terrific job as you just saw yeah dale needed some chill time and i think we've been able to accomplish that with our little breakfast series i think it worked out pretty good in fact i actually enjoyed them a lot yeah like i said i think we'll do more but we do have some news for you that we wanted to share for those of you that may not follow las vegas news our governor spoke yesterday and wanted to give us the update on what's happening with our restrictions and limitations right so come monday february 15th we are going from 25 to 35 in terms of occupancy wow a month later march 15th we're going all the way to 50. that's a big thumbs up right there that is that's a big thumbs up and the big one yes in may we are supposed to be 100 open in nevada cross your fingers folks i i'll believe it when i see it me too but we are cautiously optimistic plus dale what's the other thing we're very excited about i don't know convention oh yeah conventions they're going to start the convention just a little bit at a time i don't you know the capacity won't be as much first of all they got to get everybody back in how do people get here but that's that is one of the most exciting things to know that conventions are coming back that means las vegas is coming back yeah that is our lifeblood so we are super excited about this news and what it's going to mean for the rest of 2021 all right if you're not subscribed please subscribe don't forget to hit that
