BOOKCON & BOOKEXPO 2018 (my first EVER experience)

[Music] hello and welcome to a new reading blog I skipped a reading blog last week I talked more about the reason why and my may wrap up so link that down below because that will be up before this video I also talked about it more on Twitter so you can look there and once again if I'm ever going to miss a reading vlog or a videos going to be late or whatever I always update you guys on Twitter so I recommend following me there if you don't want to miss anything but today is going to be a crazy busy day I'm not going to be updating you guys a lot and that's partially because it's going to be a really crazy week and this blog will already probably be very long and that is because tomorrow I leave for New York City to go to be a and book on I can't believe that this is like already happening it honestly doesn't feel real I'm so excited I'm so nervous I think it's going to be really fun I kind of just want to get there and then I'll be all set but I'm hoping I'll be able to get this glove up on time because I'm flying back on the Monday so I'm gonna try and I think like edit during the week I don't really know what's gonna happen but we still don't have Wi-Fi it has been two weeks we ended up switching internet providers because we were so upset with coach go for the absolutely awful service we were getting though now the new Wi-Fi is getting installed on Tuesday which is when I leave so super but next week I'm only home for like one day then my sister's get home then we have a wedding and then I'm off to California for a month so I have been pre filming videos like crazy this past week and now I need to get them uploaded but I need to go to a friend's house to get them uploaded do you see all the stress that is happening yep so now I'm going to go and do that because I still need to finish packing do some last-minute things it's fine look who's outside and vlogging in public with other people so I am here with Hanna and Kat and the talk show and we have been hanging out and now we're going to go to a showtune bar I don't know if you can see the sign this is why I don't blah but it's going to be really fun we're meeting some other people here but you should be proud of me for vlogging in public look at this we are having fun I know there are people everywhere and I am NOT panicking we're good hello I'm actually starting the vlog at a normal time today so today is be a day one and we are going to go and pick up our badges and stuff and I'm very excited to get there so I'm gonna do an outfit of the day because that's what Hanna tonight just doing whatever anyone else does struggle so Hanna has on this really beautiful it's like a maroon like burgundy color almost raspberry actually dress and these so cute truths I love it it is such a look and it's adorable woohoo I went for a kind of 1950s housewife look because that's definitely not me you know it's just like you know what if we're gonna be out of the comfort zone now is the time to do it so I have on this nice polka dot dress it has like roughly different sleeves that I'm totally not used to at all and then I have on these shoes that I don't know where I got them but they have like geometric patterning on the heel which is very fun and cool and then I have on my Alice necklace it's Alice and the little drink me thing and magic words are hard but yeah that's my look today it's super cute [Music] and also friends say hi friends here we have a Haley getting her photos taken by the last name don't fall Haley [Music] so we took photos and everything crew crew what's up what's up what's up oh my god I'm so sorry I didn't realize everyone was walking I clearly don't know what's going on but now I don't know what we're doing but once again lost puppy following everyone not as cute as a lost puppy though but still lost puppy yeah yeah so follow the leader please don't leave me a stray [Applause] [Music] but the Canadians are multiplying [Music] so we are gonna be a like actual day one today which would like to do my own today style it's a look word work yesterday I killed myself with these damn shoes No good morning this is delivered today the look can such a good sandals she doesn't die today best of both everyone is here everyone oh my god so we are in line to get an arc of bridge of clay here and I am so excited I kind of ran away without everyone because I didn't know this was going to be here but I was most excited ever so now we have to write something but of what we love about Marcus and his books and I put literally everything because like yeah I'm literally Richard plays I'm literally the most excitement it says on it in the beginning there was one murder one Newell in one boy I'm instantly intrigued and so excited oh my god we got our second arc which is Neil Schusterman and Jared Schuster man's new book drive it's really cool I loved all his other books so I'm very excited for it literally I'm an inner element [Music] what's going to arts up Hank Green's new book but they are not having arts which is really sad and disappointing but no no what we're gonna do cute this is so cute prior to more arts I got imposters by scott westerfeld's which was so excited didn't know this was going to be there but the ugliest was like the first series I ever loved so this is really exciting and also nerve-wracking and then I also got never contented thanks by Sarah Porter she is the author Vasa in the night and that was in one of the our creature with this North also there were two Corky's which is really exciting and overwhelming so I lost everyone but then this is what I found so like I'm not that undoing over well I found everyone [Music] I lost everyone if we grab a wild card which is so exciting this is the next book to work across I'm so pumped and when and who I actually got a sampler of Malthus days next but the miss Peregrine's who also was really excited for we got a John book this is Samantha Shannon was the author Authority is a new book and it's literally like look at this thing I could kill someone with this it is ridiculous camping out camping out camping out we're camping out waiting her pride and we have been camping out for a very long time it's literally forever but it is finally almost time we moved from one line to another for a book we literally don't know what it knows I think it's the Asian fantasy it's the girl I'm also girl I'm intrigued which is usually a queen so I'm interested why is it not a quick we shall find out it's a real struggle it's like what I don't like and we can't iron either so like everything is good no Sasha find my dress yes we need Sasha to also close down ironing board apparently I'm - oh my god it's fine it was a rough day yes yeah we had dinner and then we came back here and now we're just dying and never want to stand up again and apparently we just can't close an ironing board so I'm gonna help now rather than just when you're literally just done with everything kena was literally oh my god she was two seconds away from finest finest she know finally finishing the vlog and it had taken a very long time in the camera battery died okay and I just need to go to bed 9:30 we have not consumed any alcohol but like harder you know are we actually fine we can say we laughter fake news basically I can say that right I'm Canadian the money is weird it's smelly it all looks the same there's just so many things that I don't know it's happening it's weird I'm a weird it's a weird all of us hated my mom we FaceTime my mom and she helped us put away the iron did it yes Michelle to the rescue our hero so now we are going to go to bed because we have a full day of things tomorrow and you're clearly very tired like fully ready for bed so that is what is going to happen now it is time for bed good night we are here I've worked on let's look dawn what am I even do Book Expo day - it's technically day three but like we didn't really do anything on day one so it's really a day to you but we are just hanging out and we had a really late start to the day because we wanted to sleep and we were just exhausted but now we are getting started and yeah it's gonna be fun when you're a hard-working security Doge and you're literally the cutest thing in the universe just working it working it constantly working it she's beauty she's grace she's holding a book near her face [Music] 9 for jihad Rumaki literally dying just looking I don't even know what I'm assuming it's like a puppy earthside oh my god I love it stop it we are in line for Tahereh Mafi and oh we haven't look at this outfit of the day killing it today like absolutely Wow I'm jealous if I tried to choose I would not look like that it's such a look panel it's adorable as for you i'm slumping it bring pants today so I feel like the possibilities are endless to use let's can you do the sweats now don't try nice also wearing my company shoes because your girl's feet are dead but I've had this jumpsuit which has things here and then fluttery sleeves very cute beauty guru also my button here which is behind etosha to my shop allez we have this adorable fangirl on button it is so cute to not complete also your hair all my hair I braided it it looks really bad in the back so hopefully no one looks at the back of my head but like at least the primer time and so that's all that matters she showed them the back if you imagine all the people living at the front of the line hello front of the line how does it feel to be at the front of the line excellent yeah so I mean you deserve to be here we just got here we're at the back so you saved you a spot it's a great time you know we have lots of fun over there you just sit there yes I did the split so I feel thoroughly stretched again so you know can't complain it's good times pants are fun all right hi friends goodbye friends I'm going back to the back of the line with all the peasants so I got two more arcs that I wanted these are my first arts of the day I got girls of paper and fire which is fine discussion began which had probably said incorrectly but I also got one that I didn't know was gonna be here I'm so excited my god literally kill me I can't wait yeah everyone hello hello all hello hello then this happened and I never bought it because I suck sorry we're at sourcebooks right now we're taking over their Instagram story today for so it's very exciting doing it but there's also a coach here so because I just want to chill forever they are hooking it up vlogging vlogging blogging blogging we are on our way to pick one day one we are showing it very excited we have our meet up this morning they have some meet-and-greet stuff and we're clearly in New York I don't know why it's so blurry right now humanity accident so it's great you many cons as you can see very clearly everyone that was fun right oh no how could you not be in it naturally it just wants to be present it wants to make itself know it's amazing but you're here at VidCon we have our meet up at 10:00 so we have a little bit so we're going to take some photos obviously you should vote but I'm really nervous / excited because it's my first book on but it's gonna be really good and yeah you'll be amazing I'm so calm and since I didn't do an outfit of the day this day but this was like one of my favorite outfits enjoy this awkward boomerang of me trying to be cute and failing me is the lines with my which is super we're on the book on floor on our way to our meeting dreams so exciting who is excited [Music] they're very cooperative that asked me like what covers I like it what covers they don't and they were like do you have a Pinterest board and I was like so I am here with Sophie and she brought me alice in wonderland' she's so sweet oh [Music] I'm so sorry oh thank you everyone freezes what struggle that's another one we just finish so fine with you later Brad it was amazing I really liked it was crazy someone gave me an Alice in Wonderland book I have a note in here like I'm so excited so this was amazing we're waiting for the panels right now well not panel it's not a panel I don't know what I'm talking about is anyone didn't know you were so hydrating uh we are waiting for the meet-and-greet for their booktube panel which i am not on but i'm gonna crash it anyway as Ariel is also in it she's just sitting over here but [Music] [Applause] hi [Music] [Applause] [Music] I don't think did I talk about the meeting free night I don't know it was amazing it was awesome I don't know if I talked about it because then I lost my backpack which had my passport in it so I'm super on brand in all the ways I found it someone accidentally took it but we got here so now we are just walking around because we don't know what to do we got some bubbly I mean I Hannah how's your ice cream an inspiration to us all wow so we are books in bubbly it is a penguin random hosts mingle and we indulged in some bubbling so we're just sitting here having a fab time with all of our friends will they ever stop singing no yeah it's amazing I said amazing probably it's not number one I said it or seven times now yeah but it's fine I've almost led that in draw many times but we're gonna go down Quebec I didn't give you any warning and he started talking so I don't even remember the last time that I've looked because I'm really awful at this but it is booked on day two so today this morning I'm going and I'm interviewing Marissa Mayer on Facebook live which is going to be really fun I'm excited for that and then there's a booktube panel I twelve something that I'm going to be going to which will be really fun 12:25 I don't know I just follow everyone but yeah it's gonna be a fun day and I will show you my app and I know we're in my shoes because my feet are still in rough shape but this is my outfit the radiators been done so that's fine but this is my outfit I've got this jacket here and then I've got this jumpsuit that makes me feel like I'm wearing pajamas which is always really fun Anna also looks absolutely adorable so I'm gonna show you her outfit I hope I was in facebook or in facebook in focus look at this space Queen my god it's so cute look it has little like moons and stuff on it oh my god so adorable yeah obsessed obsessed with a look there's no cure I love that but now we are going to go so we will see you at the convention center I'm here with Marissa Mayer so this is the amazing author of heartless the lunar Chronicles renegade so many amazing books and I just interviewed her on Facebook live and on her Instagram page the Facebook live is probably saved so go and check out epic creats page and then you can watch it there but it was amazing you were so there's a lot of fun great yeah we had lots of fun having it your message for everyone yeah they do carry on seek a waiver sun's coming out 2020 I still need to read Terry on site I've read it a million times it's so beautiful I'm going back to Jersey now as Ethan C's book on kills me my dad [Laughter] [Music] like my clothes facing I just want them to really be able to see the mustache and everything that's happening on my face so it's there it's there I forgot to get rid of it before you can sew so I'm back home with my little man who just wants to sleep and wants me to leave him alone but it won't because they love you I also have my giant pile of books here that I will be hauling very soon I'm now upstairs that's confusing by Ella is somewhere but we also have new friends that I want to show you really quickly so say hello to little Lucy Lucy is one of the kittens that we got she is Lily's sister so we were still able to like have a part of Lily with us which is nice and this right here is little Luna look at the precious bean she's just a little baby so anyways I wanted to give you guys a really quick update I'm literally going from one kitten to another I know girl this one just wants to play though she wants nothing to do with me right now anyways I just wanted to talk a little bit about my experience at book on NBA and really what I wanted to say was that it was absolutely incredible I wasn't really sure of what to expect going into it I was really excited to get some arcs but I didn't really know what was going to be there because I was most excited to finally meet my online friends the Internet is a really funny place where it's really easy to feel like you're part of a social circle but it's also easy to feel like you're on the outskirts of that social circle and I feel like I'm definitely not alone in saying that I think everyone at one point feels like they're an outsider no matter what online community you are a part of and I know that's definitely something that I've struggled with but the main thing that I think this week taught me is that I'm not an outsider and none of you guys are outsiders even if you feel like it obviously it's never easy when you're not always able to go to events and you're seeing all your friends having fun and stuff but that doesn't mean that you're not just as much a part of the online community as they are this community is incredible to be a part of because everyone is honestly so accepting and so absolutely incredible and I just love how many people I was able to meet and I loved meeting old friends that I've known for years I can honestly say there's not one person that I didn't feel welcomed by and it was just such a beautiful experience I can't even put into words how full my heart is everyone in this community is so incredible so successful and it's so amazing to see all of my friends being so successful and finding themselves in this community it was just I can't even describe it honestly I sound stupid but I just love everyone so much and it was so nice to be able to meet everyone and I just can't even wait for next year and to go to like all of the events that I possibly can now I also really wanted to say thank you to all of you guys who came up to me and came to say hi it was so amazing to meet so many of you I was overwhelmed but like it was so worth the experience I just absolutely loved it in particular I wanted to say thank you to the girl who gave me a copy of Alice in Wonderland that was absolutely incredible I didn't get your
