turn with me if you would to the Book of Amos chapter 9 verses 11 through 15 this is the closing passage of scripture for the book and so I was really hoping to be able to finish but don't think that's gonna be possible so follow along with me as I read this passage of scripture in that day I will restore the Fallen house of David I will repair its damaged walls from the rooms I will rebuild it and restore its former glory and Israel will possess what is left of Edom and all the nations I have called to be mine the Lord has spoken and he will do these things the time will come says the Lord when the grain and the grapes will grow faster than they can be harvested then the terraced vineyards on the heels of Israel will drip with sweet wine I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again they will plant vineyards and gardens they will eat their crops and drink their wine I will firmly plant them there in their own land they will never again be uprooted from the land that I have given them says the Lord your God now this passage of Scripture is known as the restoration of the house of David and it pertains to eschatology now does everyone know what eschatology is eschatology is the study of the end times in fact the word eschatology comes from two Greek words the word eschatos which means last and the suffix ology which indicates a branch of knowledge or science so it refers to studying a specific field or branch of knowledge so eschatology is the study of the last days or what we would call the end times so Amos chapter 9 verses 11 through 15 has to do with the in times now to be honest with you as I said I thought tonight would be our last sermon on the Book of Amos because I thought I would be able to finish tonight but as I was preparing the sermon I realized that if you don't have a good understanding of the millennium what I was going to share with you would just go right over your head so I really need to talk about the millennium before we study this passage of Scripture because Amos chapter 9 verses 11 through 15 is a millennial prophecy it's all about the millennium and let me just go off-script here a minute if you don't mind how many of you like eschatology how many of you don't really care for eschatology all right now let me explain something about the Bible the Bible is over or I should say eschatology is more than one third of the Bible the book of Revelation and the book of Daniel as almost all eschatology it's about the end times the Book of Isaiah the Book of Ezekiel the majority of it is end times the majority that's written in the minor prophets is about the end times Paul wrote more about the end times than almost anyone Jesus spoke so much about the end times I have to be honest with you when I was a student going to school I took several eschatology classes and I have to be honest with you I didn't quite care for it and the reason I didn't care for it is because it seems so confusing to me I think the majority of my professors were confused but about 15 to 20 years in the ministry one of the things that I realized is if I don't understand eschatology then I don't understand the Bible well as a pastor what am I supposed to do so I spent years studying eschatology and now I love eschatology well this passage of scripture that we just read Amos chapter 9 verses 11 through 15 it's a millennial scripture it's a millennial prophecy it's all about eschatology so let me explain a few things about the millennium before we actually study that passage of Scripture and let's start with the basics the word millennium is actually a Latin word we've just borrowed it now it's become a part of our English language now as most of you know a millennium is a thousand years you see the word millennium is a compound word which simply means that it's made up of more than one word in this case it's made up of two words the Latin word me love which means 1000 and annum which means years now when you combine those two words it literally means 1,000 years but in theology it refers to a specific 1000 year period and the period that it refers to is the thousand years after the second coming of Jesus Christ you see after Jesus returns to the earth he is going to establish his kingdom upon this earth and he is going to rule and reign over all of the nations on the earth for a thousand years that period of time is time is known as the Millennium so whenever you hear that term in church it's referring to a specific period of time it's referring to that thousand year period after Jesus Christ returns and sets up his kingdom for he's going to rule for a thousand years upon this earth so take a look at the timeline on the back wall the cross on the timeline you see that cross right there it represents the advent of a new dispensation and that dispensation is known as the dispensation of grace so today we're living in what most people call the church age or what is known as the dispensation of grace but does everyone know what a dispensation is well let me explain what a dispensation is turn to ephesians chapter 1 verse number 10 this is a very important passage of scripture in fact the majority of people don't know that this verse deals with eschatology this verse is a millennial prophecy paul is talking about the end times in ephesians chapter 1 verse 10 that's why i say the majority of people who don't understand eschatology you don't understand the Bible this is one of the most important passages of scripture in the entire Bible notice what it says says that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ both which are in heaven and which are on earth even in him now I want you to underline that word dispensation dispensation is translated from the Greek word or economía which literally means house rules you see Boyka Nemea is a compound word again it's made up of more than one word in this case it's made up of two words as metaphor the Greek word boycotts which means house and the word namaste or rules now when you combine these two words it literally means House Rules or in other words the way that a man deals with those in his household does that make sense so technically a dispensation refers to a period of time in which God deals with the human race in a distinct way you see God has purposely changed the rules from time to time based on certain factors now this isn't unfair and it doesn't mean that God is inconsistent it simply means that as the circumstances change God's rules change in fact as parents we do the very same thing with our kids you see it's perfectly normal to change the rules as our kids grow up and they go through different stages of life so in a sense we have different dispensations with our children in other words we change the rules and we pair it differently according to our kids age mental ability maturity level and knowledge as an example you would never allow your toddler to cross the street by himself no not if you're in your right mind but if you're still holding your child's hand to cross the street when they're a teenager you've got a problem because the rules for a teenager should be totally different than the rules for a toddler if you're letting your twelve-year-old or your thirteen-year-old daughter date something is wrong but when they turn 17 or 18 and you're still refusing to allow them to date maybe something's wrong with you people it's the same way with God and man so think of a dispensation as the way that God dealt with man during a certain period of time now as I said throughout history God has purposely changed the rules from time to time based on certain factors and each time he changed the rules man entered into a new and different dispensation so let me list six of the previous dispensations the first one is Adam to the fall it's known as the dispensation of innocence you see before Adam and Eve fell they didn't know what sin was they were completely and totally innocent and they didn't even know what sin was until they actually experienced it in fact what's interesting is the Greek word for no means to expiry experientially no something in fact that's one of the since why it's used as a euphemism for sex when it says Adam knew Eve in other words he experienced her sexually and so Adam and Eve didn't even know sin until they actually sent they didn't know what it was I mean they were just totally innocent and that was the dispensation that's how God dealt with them they're innocent creatures now after the fall from the fall to Noah you had the dispensation of conscience God didn't immediately come down and say okay here's the rules now that you sin and start laying them out now so how did Adam and Eve even know what was right and what was wrong well they had a conscience in fact the book of Romans tells us that our conscience actually is a lawn to itself and so they knew when they goofed up that conscious became the law for them does that make sense and then from Noah to Abraham you had the dispensation of human government the Noahide laws after God destroyed everything and it was just Noah in his family and it's their job to replenish the earth to repopulate it God comes down and he lays out some basic rules for society and those are known as the Noahide laws and then from Abraham to Moses she had the dispensation of promise God started dealing with Abraham and his children in this promise race that this chosen nation through promises and for Moses to Christ you had the dispensation of law where God came down on Mount Sinai and he gave Moses the law we had that in the first five books but we also have it as we go through the law we have the moral law and then last but not least we have Christ to the Millenium that's the dispensation of grace that's the dispensation that we're living in for we're saved by grace over we're saved by grace through faith not of works lest any man should boast so we're living in this dispensation of grace we're not saved by what we do or what we've done were saved simply because of what Jesus has done we're in this dispensation of grace now listen to me there is one more dispensation to come this is the seventh dispensation and if you remember numbers are very important to God the seventh is the Sabbath so we've had 6,000 years and we're getting ready to go into this seventh one and it's a time of rest but don't want to get off on that we're coming to this final dispensation which brings us back to Ephesians chapter 1 verse number 10 this is what it says but in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ both which are in heaven and which are on earth even in him now notice that in the dispensation of the fullness of times God will gather together in one all things in Christ now what is the dispensation of the fullness of times well the word fullness is translated from the Greek word play Roma and it means complete in the sense of coming to an end so when you use that Greek word play Roma what you mean is it's coming to its finality finale it's coming to the end it's complete in the sense of coming to the end so this is talking about the end times or in other words the final dispensation so the dispensation of the fullness of times refers to the final dispensation or what we would call the final time period on this earth at that time God is going to gather together in one all things in Christ that's what Ephesians chapter 1 verse number 10 is saying but what in the world does that mean that just kind of sounds religious doesn't it now remember I told you that the majority of the Bible you can understand without knowing the original languages you don't need Hebrew and Greek to look to know or to be able to understand 99% of the Bible but there's one percent of the Bible that if you don't understand the original languages it's very difficult to understand those passages of Scripture well Ephesians chapter 1 verse number 10 is one of those verses so what I want to do is tear this verse apart and I want you to underline the phrase together together in 1 that's a very important phrase if I were you in your Bible I would put it in parentheses together together in 1 that phrase believe it or not comes from only one Greek word one Greek work on a kfl our yama he that's a mouthful isn't it and onic if a yama he is a compound word which again means that is made up of more than one word in this case is made up of two words kif al a yon which in this context means to bring everyone and everything under the submission of one person and to gather around him does that make sense in fact the root of this word is calf a leg and it means head in the sense of Lord or master now who is the head who is the lord who is the master of all jesus what this is saying is that in the last dispensation everyone and everything is going to be brought under submission to Jesus and they're going to be gathered around him in other words Jesus is going to be the focal point of this final dispensation and we're gonna have an intimate relationship with him and we're gonna have fellowship with him and everyone and everything is going to be in submission to him in this final dispensation but don't forget that on a calf al qiyamah he is a compound word and that means that it has another word that's joined to it and that other word is a prefix it's the prefix on ax and on amines again now the word again implies that it was like this once before you see if I say that I'm going to town again that implies that I've at least gone to town once before right if I said well I'm gonna go back to town again that implies that I've already gone to town at least once before so the prefix honor implies that there was a time once before when everyone in everything on the earth was under the submission of Jesus Christ and gathered around him when every person had an intimate relationship with him and they had a personal or they had a personal fellowship with him and everyone and everything was in submission to him and when was that does anyone know it was before the fall you see Jesus is part of the Godhead one of the things that I want to do after we finished The Book of Amos as I want to teach on the Trinity but you need to understand that Jesus is part of the Godhead so before the fall Adam and Eve had an intimate relationship with God they walked with him and they talked with him in fact remember that old hymn okay never mind and they had fellowship with him and they were in submission to him so do you see what Paul is saying in this verse he's saying that in the final dispensation everything's going to return to the way it was before the fall so during the Millennium everything is going to revert back to the way it was before the fall and that's the best way to describe what the Millennium is going to be like it's going to be like what it was before Adam and Eve sinned well let's get more specific and let's look at some examples of what it's going to be like during this thousand year period first of all the curse that was placed upon the earth will be removed so the original curse that was placed upon the earth in Genesis chapter 3 verses 17 through 19 is going to be removed so that there will be peace productivity and abundant prosperity upon this earth a good example is the animal kingdom every animal will revert back to the way it was created to be before sin occurred which means that they won't be carnivorous they won't be carnivores they'll be herbivores in other words they'll only eat plants which is what they were created to do in the first place look at Genesis chapter 1 verse number 30 this is in the beginning to the book Genesis means the origin of the beginnings notice what it says and I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals do you see that I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals originally the analysts were supposed to eat green plants herbivores the birds in the sky and the small animals are scurry along the ground everything that has life and that is what happened so God originally created all of the animals to eat plants so in the beginning all wild animals were herbivores animals will also lose their ferociousness and their venom turn to Isaiah chapter 11 verses 6 through 9 says in that day the wolf and the lamb will live together the leopard will lie down with the baby goat the calf and the yearling will be safe with the line and a little child will lead them all the cow will graze near the bear of the cub and the calf will lie down together the lion will eat hay like a cow the baby will play safely near the hole of a Cobra yes a little child will put its hand and nest of deadly snakes without harm nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain for as the waters filled the sea so the earth will be filled with people who know the Lord my gosh that's amazing and when we think about when God created Adam and Eve and he brought to him all the animals of the earth and he named them all but you know he didn't have to bring them in cages in front of Adam in fact brought the line and Adam reached out there and grabbed it by its mane and pulled it up and says lion the tiger comes in and it grabs it by the tail oh no it doesn't have to be in a cage God didn't create it that way but now because of the curse you wouldn't dare do that it's gonna revert back to that way secondly there's not gonna be any sickness or disease look at Isaiah chapter 33 verse 24 the people of Israel will no longer say we are sick and helpless for the Lord will forgive their sins now that's a very interesting Scripture does that remind anyone of a story in the Gospels anyone how many of you remember the man that was brought to Jesus and Jesus says your sins are forgiven rise up and knock and all of the leaders get upset because who can forgive sin only God but do you know why Jesus made that comment he made that comment because of Isaiah 33 24 he's the Messiah and here's what he's saying you're gonna get a taste of what it's going to be like in the Millennium because I'm the Messiah who's gonna rule door that time and when I reel during that time this is what it's gonna be like and he's actually saying this right here in that story the people of Israel a longer say we are sick and helpless for the Lord will forgive their sins so instead of saying and I said or instead of saying your he'll stand up and walk he says your sins are forgiven why because of this now this doesn't mean that there won't be any death in the Millennium but if there is a death it's a result of sinful behavior and it's seen as a just punishment now remember even though there is no satanic influence during this time the mortals living on earth still have a free will so there will be those who are unrighteous and they will be punished you know many times we look at this and we go oh I don't like it when we hear this this comment when we read that verse that says that Jesus will rule with a rod of iron how many of you read that and you didn't like it you did not like that why does Jesus have to rule with the rod I are a rod of iron why would he have to do that because during the Millennium those mortals who make it through the tribulation and are living in the Millennium they're all believers but they had children and those children still have the Adamic nature and because of the Adamic nature there will be those no matter that they see no matter that they're living on an earth where they see Jesus and they see all of these good things and they understand that Jesus is the Messiah they still have a free will so there will be those who are unrighteous and they will be punished look at Isaiah chapter 65 verse number 20 no longer will babies die when only a few days old mm-hmm no longer will adults die before they have lived a full life now we're going to find out a little bit later that a full life means the age of trees and when you go over to Israel what they're referring to are all the trees and how long do all the trees live anyone know they can live up to 2,000 years some longer oh my gosh yeah so no longer will adults die before they've lived a full life no longer will people be considered owed at 100 you know it's kind of a stone when a person makes it to a hundred right no longer only the cursed will die that young you know it'll be like this in the Millennium oh my gosh they died as an infant they were 104 yeah I'll expand on that in just a little bit thirdly every deformity will be healed at the inception of the Millennium and there won't be any deformities during the Millennium look at Isaiah chapter 29 verse 18 and that day the Deaf will hear words read from the book and the blind will see through the gloom and darkness now look at Isaiah chapter 35 verses 4 through 6 say to those with fearful hearts be strong and do not fear for your God is coming to destroy your enemies he is coming to save you yea when Jesus returned that's what it's referring to and when he comes when Jesus comes he will open the eyes of the blind and then plug the ears of the Deaf the lame will leap like a deer and those who cannot speak will sing for joy Springs will gush forth in the wilderness and streams will water the wasteland fourthly there will be freedom from oppression in other words there won't be any social political or religious oppression during the millennium look at Isaiah chapter 14 verses 3 through 7 on the day the Lord gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon how the oppressor has come to an end how his fury has ended the Lord had broken the rod of the wicked the sceptre of the rulers which an anger struck down people with unceasing blows and in fury subdued nations with relentless aggression all the lands are at rest in a peace they break into singing now you need to understand that Babylon is kind of a figure of speech after the Babylonian captivity so when they refer to Babylon they're referring to evil government they're referring to things that are not of God and what they're saying is you know governments have oppressed the people no longer will it be like that fifthly parents will reproduce children as I've already stated remember those who survived the tribulation will enter the Millennium as mortals we won't be mortals why will we not be mortals because when the rapture occurs when Jesus comes for his church which is a totally do thing it's the rapture right there now the rapture doesn't start the tribulation that's why there's this little dotted line before you get to the tribulation but the seven-year peace treaty is what starts the tribulation the rapture will only occur a little bit before then we don't know how long a gap there will be before the seven-year peace treaty but what's going to take place when this rapture occurs is that those who are dead in Christ their bodies will rise from the grave to re reunited with their soul and they're gonna have a resurrected body just like Jesus and the rest of us who are alive we're gonna be snatched up in the air and our bodies are going to be transformed and we're gonna have a resurrected body yeah that's what's going to happen so those who go through the tribulation they weren't caught up in the rapture if they live through the tribulation they're going to be mortals and they're the ones that's going to enter into the Millennium and they will have children who will have children who will have children so the Earth's population is going to soar because as I said there's not gonna be any sickness or disease and death will be rare but those born during the Millennium will be born with the Adamek nature and a free will so salvation will be required for the mortals look at Isaiah chapter 65 verse 20 no longer will babies die when a few days old no longer will adults die before they have lived for life no longer will people be considered Oded 100 only the cursed will die the young Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 29 says the people will no longer quote this proverb the parents have eaten sour grapes but their children's mouths pucker it's taste all people would die for their own sins those who eat sour grapes would be the ones whose mouth we'll pucker in other words everyone will be responsible for their own soul during that period so those born during the Millennium must accept a knowledge Jesus Christ as Lord but their parents faith will have no bearing on that child's relationship with God just as it is today but there's something different that he's actually quoting in this verse and did anyone pick it up how many of you remember that it says that God will pass the sin down to the second third all the way down to the fourth generation anyone ever read what does that mean does that mean that God is punishing children for their parents in know what it means is our sin doesn't just affect us so if I didn't raise my girls right they won't raise their children right who won't raise their children right there for my sin is passed down and it's not that god is doing that is just the way this sinful world works but during the Millennium that won't be if the parents eat the sour grapes in other words if they don't raise their children right the children were going to grow up in this world this millennium where they're gonna see Jesus they're gonna see God in the way it's supposed to be the the earth is gonna be filled with the knowledge of God everyone will know about Jesus so the kids won't have to pucker their mouths if the parents eat sour grapes that's the Millennium people so if you were raised in a dysfunctional home and it's really screwed you up I want you to take hope in the fact that that's not gonna happen the Millennium even if your parents aren't acting the way they ought to act it won't affect the children because they're still gonna be living in this perfect world and they're gonna be in the system of justice and equity that's fantastic but you might not care about that I just see the ramifications all the time of people who live in dysfunctional homes and how it's really screwed them up and how it just keeps getting passed down to the next generation to the next generation when I read this I think oh my gosh to live in a society like that number six we'll all speak the same language if you're not good with languages don't worry about it don't worry about it and the reason I say that is because we're gonna be transformed we're gonna know as we're known and it's gonna be like oh I know Hebrew but notice what Zephaniah 39 says for at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech that all of them may call upon the name of the Lord and serve Him with one Accord in fact if you stay this in the original language is what it means is we're gonna have the same language last but not least there will be global economic prosperity contrary to what most people think the Millennium is not going to be a time of idleness and laziness I don't know why people think you know everything there is no more work I got bad news for you honey man was created to work Adam and Eve were created to work before the fall we're gonna work in heaven and we're gonna work during the Millennium because God created us to work and if you don't like work well thank God he's gonna transform you there's going to be a perfect economic system in which the needs of men are abundantly provided for through labor under the guidance of the king so there will be a fully developed industrialized Society provide providing for the needs of the Kings subjects and agriculture along with manufacturing will provide employment look at Isaiah chapter 65 verse number 20 I love this no longer will babies die when only a few days old no longer will adults die before they lived a lot of full life no longer will people be considered out at 100 only the curse will die that young now the reason I read that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about and so you know this is that passage of Scripture that deals with the Millennium notice what it says in those days the days when everyone lives this long people will live in the houses they build and eat the fruit of their own vineyards that they worked unlike the past invaders will not take through houses and confiscate their vineyards for my people will live as long as trees oh my gosh do you go to Israel you go to the Garden of Gethsemane you'll see trees that tradition says they're about they were there when Christ was there over 2,000 years but actually there are about 1400 years Oh but still 1,400 years old yeah and my chosen ones will have time to enjoy their hard-won gains you know what when you have the time to do what you want you don't have the money and finally at the end of your life when you have the money to do what you want you don't have the time you ever notice that and then when you finally have the money and the time because you're retired you don't feel like doing it you're too old it's like my hard-won gains but that's what it's saying it's saying they will have the time you'll live long enough to enjoy but here's the thing you still have to have you still have to win it your hard-won games they will not work in vain and their children will not be doomed to misfortune in other words your kids won't be poor just because you report for they are blessed people by the Lord and their children too will be blessed I will answer them before they even call to me while they are still talking about their needs I will go ahead and answer their prayers and then he goes on hand he talks about that I just want you to see this whole passage of Scripture is talking about the Millennium now look at Ezekiel chapter 48 verse 18 I love this because not everyone's gonna be a farmer thank God I don't want to farm outside the city there will be a farming area that stretches three and a third miles to the east and three 2/3 miles to the west along the borders of the sacred area now you need to understand this is just talking about Jerusalem but everything there be other cities there will be other nations with all these cities and they'll be farming ears but notice what it says this farmland will produce food for the people working in the city so that everyone has to work on the farm everyone with me some of you go I can't wait to work on the farm will you get it work on the farm and I get it work in the city now that gives you a pretty good idea of what the Millennium is going to be like now let's look at what's going to happen at the end of the millennium because I'm going to give you the six major reasons for why then the Millennium is necessary in just a little bit but you need to understand something first turn to Revelation chapter 20 verse number three and it cast him who's him Satan into a bottomless pit now remember when you go to show there were two compartments in between the two was a chasm that chasm is a bottle of spit so this is where Satan is going to be cast and he was cast him into bottomless pit and shut him up can't get up out of it and he said a seal upon him that he should deceive the nation's No More till the thousand years be fulfilled and after that he must be loosed for a little season now once you dunder line that phrase must be that phrase must be is translated from the Greek word die and it actually means it is necessary yeah so what this is saying is that it's necessary that Satan be loosed for a little while after this thousand year period of just bliss wonderful utopia now why do you think it's necessary for Satan to be let loose for a little bit what's the purpose well the purpose is to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that sin is evil and powerful and that eternal punishment is a necessity you see even after the thousand years of Jesus ruling on the earth without any satanic influence as soon as Satan is let loose he's able to deceive mankind and incite them to rebel against God and they will literally surround Jerusalem in rebellion to God proving that sin is powerful and that eternal punishment is necessary is is a necessity in other words Satan and his followers cannot be given a second chance for they will never submit to God therefore Satan and his followers will be condemned to eternal punishment the truth is if you won't submit to God now and allow sin to be condemned in your flesh you will never submit you think you will well you know how high flows in that I would no you wouldn't that's why Satan and his followers are eternally damned and God is justified in doing so and that's why it's necessary for Satan to be let loose for a short time it proves the necessity of eternal punishment this is why you can't give him a second chance but he's going to prove it to everyone now what's the purpose of the Millenium does anyone know you see when I read this I'm always asking why a lot of people just read things and they don't ever ask me how many of you never even thought what's the purpose of the millennium everyone's thought why is there a millennium ok I'm glad you did you should be thinking that way well believe it or not the millennium serves several purposes and I'm going to give you six of those purposes these are what I consider to be the six major reasons six major reasons for the millennium there might be more than these six but these are the May reasons why the millennium is necessary my saint millennium you know sometimes you get some distant millennium okay so if you're taking notes here are the six major purposes of the millennium the first purpose is to fulfill the promises that God has made to the Jews all of the promises that God has made to Abraham to David into the Jewish people are going to be fulfilled during the Millennium they will be gathered back to the Land of Israel and their borders are going to extend all the way from the Red Sea in Egypt all the way to the Euphrates in Syria it will it will take up all of what is now Lebanon God will pour out his holy spirit upon them and they will be the most prominent nation in the world you can read all about it in Isaiah chapter 60 through 62 and almost every one of the prophets talks about these promises that are made to the Jews and people it says that the house of David will be restored that's what we're going to be looking at next time because that's what Amos chapter 9 verses 11 through 15 talks about in fact it's such a major prophecy about the Millennium it's quoted by James in the book of Acts but anyways the second purpose is to fulfill the promises that God has made to the church you see God has promised that we will rule and reign with Christ during the Millennium look at Daniel chapter 7 verse 27 I think most of us we never even read this notice what it says then the sovereignty power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be given to the holy people of the most time people did you catch that the sovereignty the power and all the greatness of all the kingdoms on this earth are going to be given to us yeah because we're gonna rule and reign with Jesus then it goes further his kingdom will last forever and all rulers who's the rulers what SAS will serve and obey Him Jesus so we're going to reign with Jesus as judges as administrator and spiritual tutors you know what I think I'll be in the Millennium I'm gonna be a Bible teacher do you know who I get a teach the mortals I look forward to that and people this promise of us ruling and reigning with Jesus is repeated continually in the New Testament it's all through the Old Testaments all through the New Testament let me just give you a few scriptures 2nd Timothy 2:12 Revelation chapter 2 verses 26 through 27 revelation chapter 5 verse 10 Matthew chapter 5 verse 5 etc so one of the purposes of the millennium so that God can fulfill his promises that he's made to us the third purpose of the millennium is to fulfill the promises that God has made to the nation's God has promised in Isaiah chapter 2 verse 4 and many other places that the nations on the earth are going to be able to dwell with thee with each other in peace he's promised that he'll flood the earth with peace righteousness and holiness and all the earth will be filled with the knowledge of God that's in Isaiah chapter 11 verse number 9 you know that scripture that the United Nations has that they're gonna come in and they're gonna beat their swords into plows and all of that happen that's the Millennium people no human government can do that or organization the fourth purpose is to fulfill the promises that God has made to his creation God has specifically promised to remove the curse that was placed upon creation as a result of sin he's promised to deliver all of creation from its bondage to decay in corruption and restored to its original beauty balance and peace the carnivorous animals will become herbivorous Isaiah chapter 11 verse 6 the plant kingdom will flourish and produce bountifully isaiah chapter 35 ezekiel chapter 34 verses 25 through 31 in fact that this is the reason that all of creation is waiting patiently for the Millennium well I shouldn't say waiting patiently actually they're not even being patient about it all of creation can't wait for the Millennium look at Romans chapter 8 verses 19 through 23 it says for all of creation is waiting eagerly for the future day when what God will reveal who his children really are see right now I don't know if you're really saved I have no idea in fact if you're not raptured that means you're going through the tribulation and then you hear they're gonna have to take the mark you're gonna have to accept Jesus Christ if you don't take the mark and accept Jesus Christ you're probably be martyred might see you up there but if you make it through the tribulation I come back Oh will you finally were you finally became a believer but you're immortal ha ha and I have a resurrected body sorry you see what I'm saying now let's keep going for all of creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are against its will talking about against the will of creation all of creation was subjected to God's curse but with eager hope all of creation looks forward to the day when it will join God's children in glorious freedom from death and decay creation was not designed to be like this it's going to join God's children and glorious freedom from death and decay for we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time and we believers also groan even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering we to wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children including the new bodies he has promised us and the older you get the more you hang on to that my wife has never had any injuries I started falling apart in my early 20s and she's I won't tell you how her birthday's tomorrow but anyways her body is starting to give her little problems you know lady old age makes you really look forward to that the fifth purpose is to fulfill the promises that God has made to Jesus God has promised that his son will have dominion over all the world and that he will reign over all the nations from Mount Zion in Jerusalem you'll find that in Daniel chapter 7 verses 13 through 14 Isaiah chapter 2 verses 2 through 4 in Zechariah chapter 14 verses 1 nine through the Psalms to almost all of the books of the Bible God has promised to give the nation's to Jesus as his inheritance and all of the earth as his possession and Jesus will rule over them with a rod of iron you'll find that in Psalms chapter 2 verses 7 through 9 and last but not least you're gonna like this the sixth purpose is to prove once and for all that humanism and liberalism is crap if you don't know how to spell that it's craap crap you see humanists and liberals believe that man is innately good and that evil is the result of all the inequities in life it's because of the environment that people are raised in but if they just had a good job with the sufficient income with all of their needs taken care of and as and if they were only treated right with justice and liberty man's goodness would come out and he would do the right thing in fact I think many of you probably said this before well you know I just believe it all men are really good at heart I've heard you say that I am news for you that ain't true I think of myself as a man of God I believe in Jesus but I understand what Paul was talking about when he said the things that I want to do I don't do and the things I don't want to do I do I spend half of my prayer life asking God to forgive me and if I'm doing that lord I know that's probably why most of you don't pray I'm here to tell you man is not innate ly good the Bible says that man has a sin nature so in the Millennium this theory that man is innately good is going to be tested and proven false God will prove this by using the Millennium as a experimental laboratory he's going to place man in a perfect environment of peace and prosperity for a thousand years with justice and equity for everyone in fact even Satan is going to be locked up during this time so also 10 influences are going to be removed and still there gonna be those who have to die young still there's going to be people who act and righteously and even worse when Satan is released most people and I'm talking about the mortals will rally to him and they're gonna rebel against God in His Son Jesus they're gonna march to Jerusalem surround the city like they're gonna overthrow God and boom God's gonna wipe them out so the millenniums gonna prove that what man needs is a new heart not a new society it's going to prove that humanism and liberalism is pure crap let me tell you the difference between conservatives and liberals the number one difference the number one difference is that liberals believe that man is innately good and if you just put him in the right environment and if you just give him enough help he'll make the right choice conservatives say that's not true man is innately evil because he has the Adamek nature and even if they're not Christians and they're conserve they realized that it doesn't matter man will look out for himself and I can tell you you put a million dollars right there and if I could get away with it without anyone knowing ever knowing no I still wouldn't because I know God would know but let me tell you I would still be tempted and you would too why because we have a sin nature so those are the six reasons why there must be a millennium number one to fulfill God's promises to the Jews number two to fulfill God's promises to the church number three to fulfill God's promises to the nations number four to fulfill God's promises to alteration number five to fulfill God's promises to Jesus and last but not least to prove that the only cure for sin is Jesus and listen to me because there are so many people who are a millennialist listen to me without the Millennium God's promises would go unfulfilled which means that God would be a liar you either believe what the Bible says is going to happen you either believe that God is going to gather all the Jews back to the Land of Israel you either believe that Jesus is going to return and he's going to establish his kingdom on earth you either believe that it's going to be a time of peace and prosperity justice and equity you either believe that Jesus is going to rule and reign for a thousand years or you believe that's a bunch of crap and if you believe that's a bunch of crap then God just lied because he made all those promises the whole purpose of the millennium is to fulfill the promises that God has made now why is this so important because when we get to this last passage of scripture Amos chapter 9 verse 11 through 15 it is a millennial prophecy it deals with the restoration of the house of David and most of you don't even know what the house of David is but that's what I'm going to explain
