[Music] hello everyone i'm editha sitar from laundry basket quilts welcome to quilting window life i am so thankful and so excited that you decide to join me in today what a fun day today we have i have filled up our table with all the brand new things that we have from laundry basket quilts and i can't wait to share some of the new things with you i hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend enjoy visit with your family you know we had an amazing weekend we had a family reunion a bunch of our family members come together and we visit and we cook and we talk and you know what else we did we did quilt because our family just is tied with fabrics and threads and the woman and men in our family can't stop quilting i am so excited that you are doing too and you wanted to see what's new and exciting from laundry basket quilts you know few weeks ago we had a brand new collection come out coast seamstress and i have to tell you if you have not got a bundle from that collection you must get one we have only a few left and the fat quarter bundles are my favorite because you can accommodate so many different designs and so many different quilts so the fat quarter bundle from seamstress is just beautiful look at the range of colors in that from beautiful reds and pinks and the red i add a little bit orange all the fabrics i designed for endover they're 100 cotton and they're amazing quality they're they're really nice you guys have to try it and my girls that do try the fabric the know they're just amazing so look at the range we started with the reds then we go ahead for some beautiful blues teals and gr and greens and i love this combination this is not the blue that i usually use for my four of july quilts from my patriotic quilts this is like the moa dusty are just lovely blue you guys going to love it and i included beautiful greens and light greens with this group and then a great selection of lights you need some lights in your stash and those lights have little details of a blue maybe a low polka dot in a low red all those nice little details that helps you mix and match fabrics and like i said we have fat quarter bundles another bundle that i absolutely love it it's the fat eight bundle notice this one fat eight is nine inches by or 20 inches look at this really nice bundle so you get the all the fabrics that are in a collection but in a smaller size fat quarter bundles are 18 inches by 20 inches so that really helps you accommodate any of the blocks and any of the designs that you planning to do for your quilts so we also have jelly rolls and jelly rolls are two and a half by width of fabric so jelly rolls already pre-cut perfect for any of those fun quilts and you know we have a pattern called flower wool that uses jelly rolls really really nice so that's another one and then we go ahead into charm packs and i have to tell you i love charm packs why because if i want to see piece of fabric charm packs lets me see every single piece that is in a collection so these days because we're shopping online we're going we're not able to touch and feel as much the fabric so what we're going to do is uh if you get a charm pack you can go ahead and look at through those five inch squares find your favorite and then get more yardage of it so charm packs are great to keep like a catalog of everything that is in the collection so charm packs are right there and another piece pre-cuts the layer cakes those are 10 inch by 10 inch charm packs a five by five ten inch by ten inch for the leg kicks give you a little bit more fabric so you can start making quilts play with it uh charm pack i usually use it for my table toppers and smaller project and my mini quilts from little handful of scraps those are perfect so once again layer cakes charm packs jelly rolls all of those wonderful fat aids fat quarters oh is that amazing those are great pre-cuts that you can get from our seamstress collection and we have a lot of beautiful patterns i'm gonna put this to the side that came out from that collection and one of my favorite patterns that come out from the um seamstress collection is the seamstress pattern in that pattern i mixed my secret stash fabric and seamstress fabric and we do have kits look at this kit this is one part of the kit and this is the second part of the kit look look at this kit isn't that unbelievable it is just amazing you have all the gorgeous color that i myself personally call selected for this quilt and i cannot wait to have a quilt along with you for this quilt we are prepping for that in just few weeks we're going to have a quilt alone when i'm going to show you step by step starting from the center notice it in a center you have a beautiful star right there some star i call it then you're gonna go ahead and do eight point stars those are nice and small and there are show keys twice in a quilt and then we're gonna go ahead and do just little finishing pieces of half square triangles for the border and add a beautiful applique and speaking of applique yes in the kit you have the applique included we do have few left of those but do not wait to last minute to get your kid because they may be sold out you want to get that kitten out prep your fabrics by opening the kit pressing everything really nice prepare read the pattern through what we're going to do if you want to start on your own if you want it wait for me and another thing that i want you to think about it is that tiny little set of templates with all the little diamonds and everything in it what uh i chose the templates because many of you girls love to do uh hand stitching or want to mark your pieces as you sewing and i have to tell you i do it i mark my pieces and this weekend i spent some time with my uh and jane and my cousin julie and showed to both of them how to make those low stars so get ready and i'm gonna show it to you how to do it so you're gonna be a part of my family now you know we're gonna be quilting together again so seamstress is another brand new designs that we had coming out with the seamstress collection there were a wonderful variety of patterns from the spotlight oh and this one the mandarin star so beautiful and we have a kit for the mandarin star look at this kit isn't it beautiful so you have all of the fabrics for the blocks all your background this is really nice for a beginner or anybody that just want to do a smaller project because this quilt is only 52 by 52 this one the spotlight is a little bit bigger but again it uses a lot of gorgeous fabrics from the seamstress collection and it's another great project to enjoy it with the bundles that we have all right so we talked about the seamstress collection but that's not all that it came out from the seamstress collection we had this gorgeous quilt called harmony did you see this design this one calls harmony and what i love about this one that the kid is just to die for all right let's open it up in the kit we did blocks and each block is packed separately all your appliques already laser cut fusible webbing so and the background is already pre-cut for you all that you're gonna do is take the paper off fuse it down and stitch around the edges using your favorite stitches and what i also included in this kit is all your finishing pieces your cornerstone your sashings your borders your outer borders everything that you need to make this quilt is included and i also have put a one embroidery needle and a beautiful embroidery thread from dmc because on their blocks you have low signs faith hope love dream this is a perfect project for you to do it this summer in the evening as you're sitting on a porch do a low hand work a little stitching and you have the directions in the pattern how to embroider write those beautiful signs and i love that the background has low lines on it so stay on a line as you're doing it but it's gonna be amazing so this is our harmony kit and this one i highly recommend for anybody that wanted to learn applique and do a little bit of embroidery all right we're moving along through all those beautiful quilts and beautiful project and another thing that came out this summer is linen texture and look at this card this one shows linen texture one and linen texture two so our original linen texture matches so beautifully with our brand new linen texture too and i want to show you this so you know why i'm doing this why i'm having this linen texture collection and it's a hundred percent cotton don't get it confused because in a name it says linen it's not a linen it's 100 carton it's just the texture it looks like a vintage french linen and i just love it because i can take a bundle from my seamstress and look at how beautifully it matches and i can add those fabrics so if i want a little bit solids i can use them with this beautiful collection but you know what they look amazing on its own and i have to show you the whole range wait wait wait wait so this is a pattern cause palm springs that it's perfect for this collection and uses the whole group you can use a jelly roll for that pattern if you want it or you can use fat aids or fat quarters but look at this i open a charm pack and i spend all the fabrics to show you the beautiful colors isn't that stunning i love the darker navy this would be a great background or one of those low taupes right here great background for any of this kind of designs and you can do a little either the palm springs but it's super easy beginner pattern really really nice i love this one i can't wait to play moa with it and you will see these designs in many of my collection it's so simple get the pattern and i'm gonna do a video on it to show you how i made it but we also have opened for you a layer cake look at this isn't it beautiful so the layer cake gives you the 10 inch squares and once again remember i have the best pattern ever called flower wall that you can make that beautiful beautiful pineapple big quilt and showcase jelly rolls like this so those are just amazing to add to any of your project oh as the table is cleaning up i'm coming to one of those patterns and this one calls moonstone and moonstone is perfect for charm packs and any of my collections because you can mix and match all the pieces and the simple templates for a moonstone is so helpful especially with this mark right here because you match the pieces and you can make a beautiful circle you start up with a drunkard's path block and then when you sew four of them it becomes nice circle and that's a great pattern to combine linen texture seamstress any of our fabrics from before now anything from your stash use a nice light background and speaking of light background i have a little surprise for you today i know you're getting excited already just slow down slow down if you are like me and really love light backgrounds today we have a special only for today one day this is one of my my favorite collections right here called signature style it's a a half-yard bundles and those half yard bundles are on special today we have limited amount of them so if you want one grab it this is probably last time we're gonna have to have those and those are like i said half yards and this is the most beautiful selection of lights i have been using them for last year and a half in many of my quilts and many of my customers and my fans have been like hey your background is so nice where do you get it guess what i just go to my collection like this the uh and this one is just amazing pick up my lights and i love how i design those i add a tiny little detail of blue pink low cream tone on tone if you want something darker their few pieces they're a little bit darker and sometimes that's what we wanted we want something more muted more tea dye so this is a really nice half yard bundle perfect for you if you would like those and just notice that i have to show you this if you pull those out okay and you need moa lights look at how nice this look together oh if you wanna use it with something like this with a jelly roll and look at how nice the teals pick up the blues all of this will look great together so those are perfect lights they're not too light and not too dark they're just that perfect cream so those are our signature style collection so now brand new coming in next week i am so excited for you guys for this gorgeous collection look at all these pieces this is our brand new blue and white collection and this one calls bluebird let me open this up can we see it erin yes perfect aaron is helping me make sure that we brought the camera nice and close for you girls and guys so you can see it so let's go through some of the pieces from ton on town from just beautiful little tiny flowers look at those daffodils the tiny little flowers a little stripe like my father's shirt and look at that little tiny zigzag isn't it beautiful you have the most amazing selection of pieces and notice we have pieces like this that i'm gonna showcase in just a little bit this is our labels for back of the quilt how nice and it's in turn on tone so it's going to match with anything so those are just gorgeous and in case you wonder what quilts to make with those we have the most beautiful book called patches of blue in patches of blue this is our best-selling blue you have 17 quilts excuse me 17 quilts that are a white a light and blue and you can choose any of the designs and make just a gorgeous quilt with all those beautiful fabrics look at it and i went for like a lighter dustier blue right here and then we went all the way down here and i did a little accent of a navy because sometimes you want it for that low center or something that it would work so that way you have the most beautiful pieces isn't that gorgeous so michael knows i'm getting a little tickle in my throat you know that happens at the live show so let me grab a little drink oh thank you michael and you know girls remember to drink your water do you know that in our office we have a timer set up that rings and every half an hour all the girls in the office we drink water together this is our new habit we're trying to bring into our daily routine make sure to drink lots of water i hope you're doing too as you're quilting and stitching make sure you have a nice big bottle of water next to you and drink drink drink that is so important so take care of yourself so we can be quilting together for a long long time but look at that blue bird okay we just looked at those pieces i'm gonna put them to the side because i want to make a room let's keep that book here to show you something i know you're excited about seeing this quilt but not time for that yet hold down one moment so i told you about some of the fabric in that new bluebird collection a fabric like this they call them cheater panels i call them convenient panels okay because it is so convenient not to have to make eight point stars yes you're right they are printed on the fabric look at how beautiful and i can cut a piece and make a whole table runner without ever making any of those stars and i just want to show you my panel what i taught as i was making this as i was designing it first of all i want a piece of fabric that i can cut it and use it right away so i did a eight point star with a filler block right here but if i want a fussy cut i can take a ruler like this from creative grits and i can go ahead place it right over and i can cut a small square this way look at how much room i have between them do you see it and my lights are so delicate that even if i cut it right out on that light you're not gonna notice it make sure you stay away quarter of an inch from your points so when you seam this into your quilt you're not going to lose your points if i want a little bit bigger block i can keep going to i come all the way here and i don't have waist you can cut it this way you can cut it this way but you have plenty of room to fussy cut your blocks and incorporate them to any of your designs so if you ever wanted to make eight point star quilt and you just couldn't do it those eight point stars something didn't work right for you right there you can go ahead cut it out set it in and you have a beautiful beautiful quilt and now just crinkle your eyes please and think about it cutting part like this doing some red and white stripe you have a perfect four of july quilt and just hold down i'm going to show you some of those two but before i do that i want to show you a few moa panels that come with this beautiful collection bluebird collection and i have two rulers also from creative grids this one is six and a half this one is five and a half those are both rulers that i like to use it and like i said the five and a half it's really nice and easy because you can put it right over cut your blocks and you can make a smaller cut i like the six and a half because many times my blocks are six and a half so either one of those will work really nice so five and a half six and a half those would be the ones that are in my stash if you want to add a nice new ruler to your stash and you can get one at a time you don't have to purchase everything at once but now back to the fabric that it's coming next week so countdown to it this is one of my favorite and this is original this is one of my designs for cross stitch that i did and we put it onto the beautiful fabric this is printed right on a fabric notice this beautiful design that you can cut it and frame it and it's a beautiful home with christmas trees some stars beautiful alphabet and a beautiful design on the left and the right and yes if you are recognizing this is my design that i did for you guys my aspen quilt so there it is in a cross stitch if you wanna you can cut this and cross stitch right over beautiful use beautiful thread from rfo or dmc and do a low cross stitch over if you want to add a little bit of a hand work if you don't it's okay and notice that on one cut of fabric let me open that that you see it on one cut of fabric you have two panels so you have one on this side and one of this side so you have two panels so you can fussy cut and i add additional design on the side of the fabric in case you want something beautiful for the borders so that's one of the fabrics i'm a huge fan of those i can't wait to show you what i did with that fabric we also printed with andover this beautiful piece and for anybody that love hexagons there you go you can go ahead and now cut a piece of fabric use it for the back of your beautiful quilt that you make or use it in the front you can fussy cut use it in a borders you can do so many wonderful things you can cut out circles and applique add a little stem to it and have a beautiful flowers i myself going to make a jacket out of this one i always want a hexagon jacket how do i look michael can you bring the camera so the girls can see how i look with this one and it's going to be a toss up for me a jacket from a hexagon oh jacket from eight point stars i take a vote from you girls you tell me which one you think i should wear it but definitely i love this for jackets this is gonna be amazing all that you're gonna have to do is get a sweatshirt line it quilt it on your whole machine put it back together and you're gonna have a really cute jacket so for the winter time perfect in blue and white i'm gonna look like a little snow angel now this is that fabric that i told you about it this is the one that has labels on it so i did a wonderful little labels and on it it says made with love on only some of them for you this is thinking of you so just small little simple messages and i used all of the beautiful designs that i use in my fabrics to accent around the edges or right here oh i love that thinking of you and i always think of you girls because you are my favorite i quilt with you all the time so many of you reach out to me i cannot tell you how thankful i am for all your kind comments and like i said i hope you had a really nice holiday weekend and were able to get together with your friends and some with your family members and enjoy four of july and maybe quilt a little bit so this holidays i released this brand new pattern called sparkle and we have only few kids left if you want this kit make sure grab it because it is amazing in it you have fat quarters in lights in darks all your reds this is for their border right there we're gonna need the reds and on the back right here that's your binding so this wonderful kit is for sparkle quilt and we have a beautiful directions i want to say thank you to michael because he was so helpful to make sure to bring this to life and keep editing for me so we have wonderful patterns for you girls so this is the sparkle one and i know you're just waiting because i promise you this quilt remember all those beautiful bluebird panels i took and made it into this lovely design and i'm gonna we have a pattern called the pattern called um carbine fever carbon fever you know when you have a low carbon fever and you need to make something really quick imagine this this is done with only three fabrics three fabrics this is the center panel with the cross stitch this is your eight point star panel this part is part of the eight point star hold on i'm going to show you look at this when you look at on the bolt i did we had a tiny room so i put a low nine patch on a quad on a side of the edge isn't it beautiful so what you can do you can cut that and put it all the way around your cross stitch right there and then i add a little piece of fabric right here to shift things and match things out because you know when you fussy cut the panel you have to sometimes accommodate things so i put a really nice light and lift some of that nine patches right here in color and that's all that i did so one two three fabrics binding and a beautiful backing and you have a beautiful quilt called cabin fever and that pattern is available right now on our website so if you would like to please visit our website for carbon fever we will have the pdf shortly so uh hopefully by tomorrow we have it so you can download the pdf and then we will have kids and we will have the fabric for you to purchase so do not fear okay so we talk about those look at how my table is cleaning up only because i'm preparing my table to surprise you with something super special i have to pull things to the side to make a room and once again for uh the blue bird if you're looking for designs before our new book comes out the seasons of blue i recommend patches of blue 17 most amazing patterns and a huge selection of antique quilts to tease you a little bit eye candies to get you inspired and if you would like to we have on our blog a beautiful beautiful quilt remember uh two years quilt alone and you can see the quilt how i made blocks from all the different quill uh quilts and put them into one collage one sampler what is just wonderful i love this quilt but the last quilt that i want to share with you not the last or two more that i want to share with you one of the new things that i have been playing with and over the fourth of july i needed a new quilt and i took one of my favorite patterns called cranberry chain and guess what i did took the pattern looked at what i have available and we have the cutest cotton candies and i hope you had some cotton candies this weekend and enjoy some sweets i took a beautiful perfect union jelly roll and a sweet 16 fat eight that's all that i had all these three items of course if you wanted nice macro text thread beautiful threads from aurofil and if you want a bigger stash of threads we have the signature style of threads i took those i used my jelly rolls for my nine patches can you see it right here is the camera on it yes i use my jelly roll for my nine patches from this and this i cut my reds and lights and i made this version let me put this to the side because i have to open this quilt for you guys you're gonna love it i made this version of cranberry chain quilt look at how cute it is oh i just love this one look at this look at this and as i was sitting and visiting with our family members i just was so proud and so happy that i did this and you know what i have to tell you if you didn't make it for four of july there's always a good time to make a patriotic quilt and be proud to be an american so please if you think about it for beginner advanced this one is super super special and i love how it came out i quilted with a edge to edge design of waves and stars they're like a little waves to it and can you see the stars right there so and i chose like a little bit larger design because i didn't want the quilt to be tightly quilted i wanted to be fluffy and special and one that i can enjoy it and i have to tell you already now i cannot wait to play and display this quilt in my household it is just beautiful the last thing that i want to share with you today is sew in love and i'm pretty sure you're going to be so in love all over again with all this wonderful projects just get a nice little kit of blue fabrics maybe from bluebird i'll pull up something out of your stash and start stitching and enjoy a little bit moment of a quiet as you embroider or applicate on your front porch this summer and i hope you're gonna have fun with it sewing love was our book that came out a few collection and we're gonna be doing a quilt alone on this quilt so if you wanna you can join me in we're gonna be playing with this one so look at all this amazing plans we're gonna be making seamstress quilt learning how to make eight-point stars we're gonna be making a quilt alone for sew-in love and in case you love that beautiful cranberry chain i'm going to show you how to make a simple nine part in our next video so make sure you tune in sign up for our newsletter uh make sure you visit us for our live show and i cannot tell you how thankful i am that you always come in and website at laundrybasketquilts.com for any of your quilting needs thank you so much and before i go i'm going to ask aaron if we have any questions do we today we did have a couple perfect do we have time uh yes we do perfect let's answer some questions i'm so excited i missed you guys missed your question so first off i wanted to let you know that the votes are in yeah your jacket yes which one stars stars you got it you got it i'm going to make it definitely a star jacket should i do a long or short one guys we'll have to find maybe both maybe i will surprise you i'm going to try uh i tell you when this collection comes in i'm going to be making quilts i'm going to be wearing i'm going to be enjoying i can't tell you this is beautiful isn't it and you can mix and match you can add some pieces to it i think this is going to be stunning i can't wait and it feels so good make sure you use hubs beddings if you're doing a bedding instead of sweatshirt and in this quilt i use just the 80 20 mix very thin nice and thin oh i love it how it lays and how it drapes and when i wash those it really gets nice and soft so hob's bedding it is okay what's other questions do we have any questions yes we have a few so stephanie would love to know can she buy patterns separately and templates the acrylic templates absolutely yes so we have all the patterns available as a printed patterns or pdfs and like i said sometimes when we have a brand new pattern give us a day or two till we get the pdf pdf pattern on our website it just takes a little bit of time but we try to have as many pdf patterns for our patterns as possible and you can buy the templates separately in the pattern i always put the paper templates so make sure you open the pattern match your acrylic templates to your paper template and speaking of pdfs i'm going to take a moment to talk to you about this if you're printing your own patterns make sure check that you print it the right way when you go into printing don't scale to fit the paper because then the design will scale down and you don't even notice it because it's maybe just one eight or a quarter of an inch and you don't notice and you start cutting your fabric so always select print do not scale to fit the paper and then check the one inch square that it's one inch and then everything is fine and if you ever need help our customer service is ready to hear from you and help you with anything you needed so just email us and we help you through it great and in regards to bluebird collection curious when you think it might be available over in the uk so we're hoping that it should be available uh the next two weeks so we are expecting our shipment from bluebird next week and i would give another week i think uh both areas macauer is a sister company to end over and do they do an amazing job distributing our fabrics in uk do you still have any um pineapple flying geese patterns yes and guess what oh my gosh i cannot believe who asked this question i'd have to check she is reading my mind guess what guys i actually pulled that pattern yesterday because i'm gonna do a quilt in the blue bird for the flying geese pineapple it is going to be stunning oh you have to you have to you have to try that one so flying is pineapple it's a foundation piecing i do have a video on that one that you can watch but i am going to do a beautiful quilt with the bluebird collection for that one and we have a new group coming out later on called the compass collection and it's all wovens and i have been playing with the wovens because you know sometimes wovens they stretch little funny and they have little different weave to it and using them in foundation piecing is spectacular and not to tell you too many secrets there may be a crazy quilt coming in from me you know how that works once you start that foundation piecing you can't stop it oh so many wonderful things i have prepared for you i'm so glad we're back from our holidays and we can do some more quilting together and that was nikki reading your mind nikki thanks nikki you must be reading my mind girl in regards to your colors fabrics for backing how do you decide what color you want to do so many times i look at it at the backing and i want to like flip to my quilt and look at it how it goes with the front of the quilt i wanted to tie it together and i always pay attention also to my binding the matches both the front and the back because you know what there is nothing wrong with sometimes displaying your quilt this way isn't it and look at this one so when i choose my backing i want something spectacular and i myself love big flowers so why not putting something amazing big beautiful flowers that normally we would have cut it to pieces and lose the design and display on the back of the quilt look how pretty this one looks with the flowers onto it and that little cream that low cocoa just really goes nice and warms up some of my blues not the red but this goes really nice with my blue so this is what i like to do when i choose my backing and notice another one this one turn on tone but what a wonderful idea to do a nice beautiful floral something that it's amazing that when you flip a corner of the quilt it just goes really nice with the front and goes nice with your binding and i put a polka dot binding and i know many of you wanted everything exactly and guess what i thought oh my gosh sometimes they're bigger they're smaller but it gives me like an extra design of like a loopty loop all the way around the edges and i just loved how that look and not everywhere was the same you know how the design sometimes it's printed in slow but off i didn't mind it's my quilt i'm enjoying i'm gonna do it it's not perfect but it is mine so that's all that is to it i encourage you to grab some fabric stitch something beautiful this weekend and enjoy and i can't wait to quilt with you with our brand new bluebird collection and keep your eyes open on that sew-in-love book and the low sweetheart fabric thank you so much and i hope to see you again next week
