what's the American League Conference Series?
Great video. Except "American League Conference Series" killed me each time it popped up.
That really is a great video.
Honestly though? I think this misses the point. How can you warp from from 1985 to 2014? No mention of the disappointments of '80, '81, or '84? Isn't that what made '85 so special? No highlights (or lowlights) from '85 to now? There was a lot of could be's and Cy Youngs and ROYs that were completely ignored. You have to understand the lows to appreciate the highs, and this video ignores them as if 28 years didn't happen. I like the Royals because of what they have gone through up to this point. I think that their long time fan base has got to be some of the most die hard fans in baseball simply because of what it's taken to get here. 2014 has been a tremendous reward for the true believers, and a hell of a ride for the bandwagoners as well. Life long fans are made because of years like this, and it's great for those that still view St Louis as a 'rival' of sorts due to their recent success. The true reason for this being so special is due to the suffering endured until this point, which this video ignores completely.
And on a personal note, I have felt pretty terrible for not being able to enjoy the Royals success in the post season up until this point as much as I would like. I am from the Bay Area, and I cheered for the A's in the Wild Card, so that was a disappointment. I cheered for KC against the Angels and against the O's (though, the ALCS was more of a coin flip for me since I want to see the O's succeed as well), but I will be cheering against KC in the World Series since they are playing my Giants. Against any other NL team and I would want you to win. Hell, even if you beat the Giants, I will be sad yet still happy for you all. I hope this series is fun, competitive, injury-free, and respectful.
Gave me the chills.
Amazing video
