Blood Bowl: Second Season Edition Match Report - Old World Alliance vs Underworlds

[Music] so [Music] hey everybody welcome to the blood bowl second season edition match report i'm here with mike and he's bringing his chaos underworlds to face my new team which is the midnight maulers so it's gonna be rats and goblins and trolls fighting against ogres dwarves hobbits and humans we'll show the teams show the pitch and get this underway here's my starting squad for the maulers we've got uh captain though over here he's a dwarf blitzer and then i got two dwarf blockers a troll slayer and a runner uh for the dwarf part of the squad uh i got three human linemen sorry two human linemen a human blitzer thrower catcher and then we got my ogre uh his name's egrock and griffo with a halfling who occasionally gets tossed around so this team changed quite a bit from the previous um season of the loner which is on the dwarves went to three plus uh the human thrower does have animosity however so he doesn't like passing to non-humans they don't like play as well together but you know they only have to roll uh two plus to do it it's just an additional dice really gets in the way um didn't think a lot of rerolls just one and a fan factor uh thousand dedicated fans for extra plus one which means just more gold during games which is nice uh and i didn't have much else to spend my extra 10 grand on uh and i figured that having more rerolls didn't make a lot of sense when i'm a loner anyway so i'm gonna lean into my skills now the dwarf blockers are a bit different from the true dwarf ones they have armbar and russell that's right wrestle armbar and brawler as opposed to having um a block which means that they're not they're not true blockers they don't have tackle uh and they're not quite as good at getting dodgers and stuff like that but they do get initial bonus when people fall down next to them uh to armor rolls trying to break armor with armbar and then of course uh brawler same as on the blackworks here's the underworld squad we got this is the eight peak pests yeah so we've got uh hungry hal is the troll and then i've got a gutter runner a blitzer and a thrower for the skaven three skaven clan rat lineman and then i've got four of the lovely underworld goblins and their three snotling friends who can swarm onto the pitch to get me some extras uh i don't have a lot of skills on this team that are gonna be any help in a fight but i'm hoping that i can just run away from his team effectively to get the ball score and maybe occasionally throw a goblin um so it's uh it's going to be underworlds versus old world alliance to these cool mix teams you can see here mike's beautifully painted this too using epic duck mics the battle the mics here um awesome comic book style painting so this is really nicely done you can i'll link uh mike's channel below for those tutorials corn slip uh heads is you which one's heads that one i assume the smashes heads yes all right balls oh geez tails it is all right i can choose looking for fans i get a two because i got plus one for my dedicated fans i got a four because i got plus one for my dedication sweet so seven thousand screaming fans arrive must be a nine which is nice perfect weather or perfect conditions in this sheet i'm not taking on any journeyman i think we're tired right now because i've got 10 grand in petty cash or sorry in um inducements which i don't really have much to do with uh then it's press the double table i don't have 20 so i can't get a prayer and determine team which is already done and you which means i gotta set up first oh no yep five seven first yes d3 ring extra wings because you do have uh some swarming one extra snotting all right uh and this is my my initial squad deployment so i got my runner my uh first my lineman and blocker blitzer lineman blocker troll slayer and the thrower across here the blitzer and the catcher to chase squad is out so we've got uh skaven lineman we've got goblin goblin and the snotling way back there's your thrower and then lyman lima with the troll your uh gutter runner and then wide it looks like your blitzer yep and then uh your other goblin so you have the kick let's place where do we want to go this guy is movement seven like all these rats are movement seven and i don't wanna cause a touch back though so just give it to hungry hal and that'll be terrible you'll give it to your god which would also be terrible let's see where it goes so initial scatter is going to be i'm just going to place this now we'll just use it this way for the whole game we're going five to the eights oh one two three four five sweet hopefully not that real spicy real fast all right kick off six or five sorry and ten d three plus three open players in the kicking team may immediately activate and perform a move oh my god one may perform a blitz action and one may perform either a pass or a throw teammate action if a player falls over or is knocked down uh no further players can be activated the blitz ends immediately how we can yeah the bot the thing's high right now so i don't know i guess if it was a touch back you could pass it was a touch back somehow like you'd be able to pass because otherwise you have the balls in the air we can't actually grab this is an open space right now um but i could put somebody on it to try and catch it so d3 plus three so four that's going to be five open players can do something and it's on the kicking team so it's me that gets to do stuff so i guess we blitz with the yoga because that's the open players and nobody you have marked so i can go with all four of these guys and them particularly one and so let's move blitz or pass basically right now uh the dwarf could blitz but i can't get where i want without having to move this guy first and he's blocked so i don't have to do any dodges so he's gonna be the ogre uh he's got a bonehead first he's fine uh so he'll go one two to blitz we're gonna throw something on this goblin two yeah yes sir and problematic for you uh i will you have dodged so it's gonna end up being a push um and sorry that's both down i'm not gonna do that it's gonna be a push so you get to pick i think because you have i don't have sides oh you don't have side step the snot links have sides oh well then we'll push you there and i guess follow up that was two i could move four i can move two more so i can go one two and stand here instead which is what i'll do two it's in the air so my blitz and i can still move with four more guys and also yeah well let's do that then let's go move uh he would want to catch it and he has catch i could just try and get it to him i guess that's what we do we go one two three and be done that's number two go one two three four five and just sit there uh we oh it's gonna scatter though i he'll get to try to catch it first when it comes down yeah oh this guy's before bro it's already scattered and then it'll come down it'll bounce that's right uh we're gonna go so that was one two three four we're gonna go one two three four five and then we're gonna go one two i'll be done when the ball comes down i because i try and catch it it's gonna be my catcher this is an amazing opening for elsa uh he has a agility of three plus catch now we roll with catch we got it well uh the kicking team starting to possession the ball is pretty great on your turn but it's still your turn so so you two you goblins leaving the center open was not the wisest idea for our kickoff role yeah didn't didn't anticipate welcome to blood bowl nothing ever goes as planned all right so i'm gonna start with this guy he's gonna come around one two three four and up there now this goblin is going to throw two dice with his two assists yep you got it cheers block into my lineman uh a batter a push yep we'll take the push so he's going to go back to there and i'm going to follow great making a big play pushing a human hey gotta get what you can get that's right get where you're going all right he's gonna toys get troll smash i mean i'm gonna ask him if he's gonna smash that's true he'll rub his shoulders real good and say of course we will of course troll troll two guys black he gets a push and a smash okay i was good so you can push him back it's gonna go back to there i will follow because you don't want to be unengaged as a troll you wanna waste your blitz on a guy he's gonna roll two plus that's not gonna break his armor though because he's a dwarf definitely killed that wow yeah i would have gotten through the halfling that's true griff griffal wouldn't have liked that have the gutter to fight the yogurt it's the only way i'm sure he'll be fine i'm sure he'll be totally fine that would go great one two three four five six i have to go for it are you going a long way probably this guy here stalling he's gonna come around he is titchy one two three yeah he's gonna stay there fourteen then we're gonna do a blitz with the blitzer so he's going to go one two three four five six seven go forward once go forward to blitz because he is seven so two plus or whatever they cut rush yeah that's push push it's go for it we're calling it go for it we're calling it go for it and perfect blood bowl weather that's right nice for bubble water and double push all right that's what we're going for trying to try to open up this alignment but you've used your blitz now so there's no knocking them down yeah falling into the troll sir it doesn't seem like a good idea yeah that's fair yeah this guy move take it right here yep get in the hole and then we'll have that guy give a little push being cautiously optimistic i'll get the ball back later two days block the smash push so he can go down to there i'm gonna not follow that one up i'm not sweet and then it's a nine plus armor yeah that's got it sweet and then what happens to him he's stunned oh right in the squish the final two on number clan rats live their best lives six there you go i get a friend this one yeah you got a friend too that's okay though i gotta do a one die cuz because why not we're feeling gutsy it's late in that late in the turn wait let's turn yeah no down four all right well i got three re-rolls now nothing else was gonna good was gonna happen i'm gonna do it okay uh he's not just fine don't my turn one okay well we've somehow got the ball on the first turn the purple and white feeling strong the ogre's ready to make a hole uh as ogres are want to do uh my dwarf blitzer could also make a hole and we could just start start caging up uh we also have the potential of a big old surf with the troll slayer if we want so i think we start with just getting in deep with the we got time here i don't need to rush if i if i get if i get hasty here i'm going to lose the ball to these sneaky sneaky skating we need to do is we need to protect this ball carrier and just start grinding forward i think so i think we start going deep with the oh gray and he's just going to smash this this little guy three nice block on that goblin because everybody else is marched out so give him the hits we just need to push uh we got a smash though so we will put you here because dwarfs yeah oh sorry and i can't put you there what am i doing i don't have this isn't this isn't block works ash um we'll put you here that's the only open spot yet unless i want to do a push and then we'll follow up and let's see what your armor is looking like that's looking like a six which doesn't do it a nice nice big pile of bad guys directly where he wants to be uh and we've got a sweet speed hole open for the runner now we've got a blitzer who can go protect him which is nice you got a couple clan rats that could come out after this i'm a lineman who with a push could do it and a blocker who could do it as well do we go the short way do we go along the wrong the long way and have the dwarves help out but i think we just we start with the easy stuff and we're just gonna start moving i'm gonna go one two is it yeah these spots are both covered by oh they are both covered sorry i need to mark this guy out then yep that is correct or i send the troll slayer with the blitz and have him start just shoving people everywhere uh i do like that idea we do that troll star is going to blitz he's going to go one two three to blitz block uh i'll take the push because i've got i have um frenzy so i'm gonna go push you to here and follow up uh yeah cause i'm zoned i'm dauntless though right there oh i could do two nice two pick does he have block he doesn't block stay there that's fine we're happy with that oh i have to keep going don't i yeah that's right or i have to push so i have to either push you both down put put you put you here and stay where i was which i could do and that's just a one nice block or i use the both down to put you down there well because i was i was here yep so anywhere you push me you follow up into the spot he was in oh that's true so the both down is going to be the one i want to do then yeah yeah but i ignore it because of blocks yeah we'll just do that then let's see what we got [Applause] let's go i guess do these stuff here and go one two three four five six seven eight and we're gonna go one two three four five six seven we're gonna go one two three four five six we're gonna go start gumming up the works these guys can move four you can move six so one two three four five six we're gonna go one two three four we're gonna go one two three four five six uh this guy's knocked down yep he's just knocked down he'll stand up just you left and do you want to throw a block just one nice block in that thrower you strike three right yep let's do it one day's block see what happens hooray historically yes they're [Applause] all right we're gonna see if the troll wants to encourage him to be on the ground again rub the answer is yes oh double block not a great start to the turn uh all right we're gonna spend a re-roll that makes sense four plus loner he is not a trained troll no we're both going down okay good start and i am on a 10 for you nope not quite same for me not in my turn too do we just get cheeky and give this to the blitzer i think we do and be like hey bud wanna wanna score a touchdown sure because i mean the worst thing that happens is i end up in exactly the same place i was last turn but the ball's on the ground so handing off which means it's a three plus for that blitzer he's got it got this ball and then we'll just go score all right do i want to foul anybody first do you want to follow the troll no one two three four five six td blams let's touch down for number seven human blitzer uh around uh so i'm kicking again which means i'll set up again and uh i mean it worked last time so let's do our thing this time kick the ball to me i will kick the body i mean i'm in i'm into whatever these guys are doing i like it uh let's stand up on the line i think you guys are going wide this time go like this and you're just as good as a human lineman so why not and then our chasers don't want my i want you to be a chaser actually again just in case because you're fast starlings it's three this time oh the coaches decided all right well when in doubt send more snotlings the same that you had an excellent plan it can't fail twice oh this is going in the middle so my squad's redeployed a little bit we got blocker blocker uh the two linemen my blitzer ogre runner because he's basically a human lineman um my uh trolls here with the thrower and then back here chasing just in case something breaks through i've got my catcher and my blitzer you've got linemen linemen uh linemen your goblins the sacrificial goblins in the wings got one and the snotling there's two snowlings with the blitzer just there for backup to throw out some strength gotta runner and your thrower in the back let's put it on him this time and see where it goes can't possibly go up again that's not even a d6 ash it's gonna go six to the four so it's gonna go one two three four five six touch back give it to everyone it might scat you might bounce for a might pass for not a touch back that's true yeah okay so kick off yep hey uh 12. is that pitch and vision equation both coaches roll d6 and either fan factor the cursor rolls the lowest random slicks d3 their players from amongst those in the pitch in the case of a tie both coaches randomly select d3 all the randomly selected players are placed prone to become stunned oh no your fans are mad i got a three you have six so d3 of my guys two of my guys get pigeons so your fans are super mad that we scored in that first round so pick two and they'll be stunned is it random 16 here so do you have a number 16 probably not oh you could just select oh i get to select right no it is randomly select sorry randomly selection oh i yeah it doesn't matter who uh 14 14 i don't have a 14. keep wrong until you get something that's not one one is thor veer my blitzer so he's stunned ow good start nine nine is torsten the human lineman so that is this guy also stunned good start and that was it was two wasn't it good start to this all right then it bounces and then it bounces uh it's going to go to the we need a high number here three through six four so it's going to go back off and let's touch back back let's just give it to make sense now you've got this nice open hole to the back to my right to my end zone i feel like that kind of blood bowl game today folks everything the fans are getting involved crazy things are happening and it's your turn three first yeah easy stuff first cause one two three four five six seven yeah we'll form the cage back here one two three four five six seven go for it yeah he's nine oh he's nine that's right eight yeah let's go for that oh and we'll go we'll take this little chump he's going to go one two three four leave him alone all right get away from me blitzer i don't like what you're and help after i think this guy might do the seven blitz yeah that'll work yeah for sure that'll work real good all right so yeah let's do that one first so i'm gonna blitz with my blitzer strangely as as he does one two three four five six seven go forward what's he's gonna go for it to hit yep okay he's got two dice two dice yeah comes right two and i got a block which is actually good for me this time it is i don't know i got a block so i'm down in the square he'll be uh eight plus i believe that'll do it oh no they're maddie yeah good enough oh right in the squishy block over here against my alignment or my block rather i got a pal and i'm gonna take the bow yeah i'm not gonna take the block that seems bad and we'll follow up for good measure and does not break my invincible arm he's a troll he's trained for hitting that's well it's all he's trying to do so two plus from the shoulders heck yeah he's right into it all right give him the sticks uh yeah you don't have dodge i do not have dodge well that's also a smash yeah yeah from your legible devices i mean they're super cool are they the official ones for this team uh yeah they're the yeah they're actually glow in the dark too well that's cool great i almost almost got him almost got him uh so close one's gonna fight both these guys yeah hey oh yeah for sure and then and then snotlings go up the works snotlings come up the works all right so snatter one two three four five sure uh they're both stunned he's down he's not dodging anywhere let's have this guy go one two three four five six seven he's gonna go for it to there sweet two bus perhaps not gonna make it there um what are we on three two one two he used one yeah we're back oh he's good almost all right i want to do this yeah somebody fighting they don't like this game very much that's true uh we'll do this one first because there's no there's no arm bar on either of them uh so he'll go one dodging into one tackle one but he doesn't care because he's just puppy he makes it is it titchy that stops them four or five no titsy means that's one there's yeah plus one but they don't but they don't have tacos for dodging yeah they don't exert modifiers super fun this guy's gonna be real bold and go one to there [Music] yeah uh two to there oh they're scrambling nope nope nope nope dodge though yeah three to there they're close no uh do we break his legs i'm fine the whole time all right and that's true three and what a mess i have to clean up right now i've got four of my players three of my players stunned one of them down i've got loose a whole loose line over here but the problem is that almost no matter what i do unless i kill unless i knock this guy out i have no chance of stopping him from scoring he can score from almost any position right now so he has to go down this turn i have no other choice there's standing and i could i could easily get him loose um the easiest way to do so of course is going to be to uh throw that troll slayer into the mix with a blitz and then just trying to explode this guy but i can't blitz twice which is problematic so he's probably gonna have to dodge out that means one two three four five six seven and then go for blitz which means i need to get somebody standing here as well to ace these guys right very unlikely i'm getting more than one guy splits that way tag these guys then i'll be able to do it so he's done though so he's no help the troll slayer can get there the thrower could probably get there one two three four five six so the thrower can get there so let's start with that so one two three four five six i can also get there one two three four five six if i need to now i do need to at some point just start tying people up but we're gonna try and get the squad over here so one two three four delete my ogre over this square to get him anywhere and that's a terrible idea um i guess you could just stand up so we're gonna do that now because otherwise you're gonna get murdered later also stand up and be done doesn't work where do i want the ogre to be i want the ogre to be fighting somebody his own size i think he's getting no shoulder rubs right now which means i think we just go pile into that i can go one two three four five that's not really gonna help me i have to go for it this guy's being a problem these idiots are stunned so there's no way to get him off there so really the only way to get him relevant is to go one sorry one two three four five or go into here one two three let's do that roll first that's right yeah two balls oh great we're good i should have never doubted him that's uh that's egroc egroc knows what time it is uh all right well we've done everything we can the troll slayer's just gonna go stand over here and look you're gonna block so down you go and let's see if we break your armor or this ball bounce first ball bounces first yeah it goes to the three which will be right there right there and then armor no go for it otherwise i'd go try and grab that and i don't have anybody else that can do anything so the ball is loose these guys turn over that's your turn for yeah they're doing things things and stuff things and other stuffs all right this is damn stalling that's crosstalk but this damn snotling yeah one two three four five to there yeah because they're so strong that they help they do help i mean maybe they just wave their arms and distract us his name is lowly lowly lily the snotland all right now this fella is going to punch that fella and we're the help he's a dwarf getting the boots uh i did i don't have dodge actually this is the smash yeah well i'll take i'll take the dodge because it's slightly more insulting fair uh i am a runner and i am armor of nine i need somebody to tag the blitzer so that that guy can hit him and to do that i will bring this goblin around so one two three four and five another tackle zone on the ball and now i'm going to try to punch your blitzer do it [Music] push and a down well i'm not going to take that down push will do yeah it gets the decision out there i'll let my goblin i forgot the word goblin first hilariously i'm pretty sure that because i didn't stun that guy he can score right now pick up and go for it but you could definitely do it uh two up two up hey that is the most dangerous kind of roll you have one roll left you do have a roll but a two f is definitely the least likely to happen yeah what do we got first we're going to with no uh yeah okay this guy's going to move over to here okay just because it's going to try to activate to vomit on that guy because that's a no risk sure two plus wasted the two plus that was the two balls pickup right there that was the two plus pickups now i'm going to not roll a one to not puke on myself hooray don't puke on myself and no number's fine all right nine plus now i've saved up all my ones okay so we'll go with that all right we're gonna send this guy in so please stand up before we go grab the ball yeah two plus pick it up we hope he said you got it and then it's a go forward to score four oh there's a dodge in there too oh you can go five six seven oh it's still a dodge that's right five we'll dodge anyway six so two up seven eight nine go for it don't do it don't do it don't do it don't do it yeah scores td for the underworlds all right that armor break i probably should have spent actually you can't spend reals on armor so it doesn't matter yeah so that if i just stunned him i was probably safe for a term but otherwise that's it you're kicking i mean three once again they figured out that extra snotlings means extra power how many players this is a lot of players so you've got goblins in the troll line of scrimmage uh being hopeful and then uh we've got every single one of these rats backed up by a little guy so snotlings with the two linemen stallings for lyman blitzer you're throwing you gotta run in the back hopefully just to chase me i mean sure do we go like that do we just have him live his best life it's in the name after all so why not get to dauntless into it we cannot listen to him exactly uh we can even give them supports if we if we smash the heck out of these guys so let's go for that go for go for murder go for murder folks uh let's do some folks on the wings this guy was crazy in this one okay uh yeah we like all these things let's get ready to punch a hole actually go there you can go here you can go here all right we're down so i've got my blitzer catcher lined in with the ogre my troll slayer my door blitzer uh lineman straight blocker rather blocker with the other linemen and then back here my runner and my thrower for some sure hands pickups so what are my runner in my throat insurance pickups so go ahead and get involved for sure and uh we're going to play everyone it's just a snotling in a ball suit that's my favorite one yeah two two squares so one two right there good kicker awesome you do have a good kicker i got a one and a one uh it's gonna be get the ref each team gets a free bribe inducement is described on page 91. we'll get a bribe which means we can start fouling that makes this game even better and then where's the bounce to oh yeah i assumed your catcher was under it to catch it already five right there and that'll be my turn well then we've got some plays to make i don't want to throw too many dice i could easily throw to my catcher and start the line moving i could also hand off to him and run it let's take control of the ball first my thrower we're going to go one and i don't want to hand off yet i want to be where i want to be first and where do i want to punch the hole is going to be the question i think we punch a hole i'm set up to punch it to the left let's just go for the completion but we'll throw some blocks first see where everybody ends up oh gray two plus no no all right not throwing it i guess uh mr blitzer though your first block of that goblin and i have block see you down on your square oh that's the blood trigger yeah as fast as armor casualty but it's not a roll on the table because he's just hunting yeah yeah he's all done uh he's standing around chewing grass so he's all done too my follow up though uh but we could start following up and just like building a pocket so we could go one two three and be done we can go one two three four and be done one two three four and be done so i'm gonna go one two three four five six it'll be a quick pass to him more likely than not from that square yep so let's do it uh we're gonna go one two three pick up the ball we got it and then four five six and we'll chuck it over to my catcher sorry it's a four plus we got it catch number three check your pass we got it completion frame fashion fawn so we are finished with him and now it's about building a pocket i think we build the pocket on this side away from that gross gutter runner here we go one two three four five six seven eight we go one two three four five six we're gonna go one two three four five uh the i think we're gonna go with the troll slayer now and chuck a dice of this troll all right because we'll be equal plus one let's walk equal yeah and then plus some for him yeah you're gonna make your dot let's roll oh dolls rockstar d6 is adding my strength for dollars i get a five so i'm not dauntless to re-roll that i have two assists right now which makes me strength four but i'll still be lower yeah let's do it re-roll why not let's get it away no doesn't do it so it's two days blocked you pick uh both down or smash block guess i'll take the both down because i like where i am triple t um yeah down you go and don't break up hi buddy you did your very best uh and then i guess i i was gonna say i might as well uh i can blitz this goblin and i will one two three four five the blitz i'll take the push and i'll push you i guess there and then i don't think i follow up but i do think i go six to here ah now i will follow up he'll be done control no he does not he's having a nap he's very comfortable there your turn five yeah my is it yup i'm really bad at that you had the first turn yeah yeah so he's gonna come to here okay and help and help make it a one dice block oh there's a strong word but he's gonna do that all right then this guy is going to move to here and also help not not actually but but it is helping he's going to throw one die block do it come on block is not what i need both down yeah both down we're gonna re-roll that okay spin them like they're hot down better there yeah yeah that makes sense uh well then did we just start snapping next because snapping next is what we do when we're facing nothing but snotlings there's oscavan um and he could also have his neck snapped if we were lucky we don't really i think we use our blitz actually to make the hole happen but we're going to start off by beating up some snowlings so this guy's going to beat up this snotlight we have strength one yeah yes sir so three dice yep uh you do have dodge i do and sidestep and sidestep so you can choose where you go sweet we'll be all done that uh so then second verse same as the first actually we'll do him into this one see if we explode uh you have dodge so where would you like to get this one yep he is going to go here so then we go with i guess him and he'll like that that one get four dice can i get four this is true there we go that's what we're looking for so you pick where you go uh yeah i'm going to be the most in the way here please unless i explode you which i don't possible snotling crew go pits yeah man they're they're not uh they're not messing around we slowed things down that was not that was not what we wanted um now we couldn't foul your troll into oblivion can i have a bribe right now and i feel like that's just like in the card so this guy's gonna file your troll with plus um three we do that first or do we do something else first um plus three armor ten after all seven i want to be plus four because that's almost a guarantee so i think we make it a plus four with the ogre he does he wants to do this he wants to do he's like oh kicking stuff i love kicking stuff one two three just gonna stand in the square sorry this guy's enormous body is slightly in the way yeah and then yeah we'll follow this guy that plus a bunch so plus one two three four we got you didn't didn't didn't even need the bonuses seven stunned it's done didn't get you uh which is good because it takes someone for another turn that's our foul for the turn finished i think we hand off to my dwarf blitzer because i could push forward and try to make another run for it but i think we do that so i think what we're gonna do is we're gonna start moving up
