[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] right welcome to another episode of warhammer 40 000 it's 2000 points tau empire versus blood angels right welcome to this 2000 points game tower empire vs blood angels this will be a league battle here the tower have played two games and have won both so if they win here uh they will surely go through to knockout stage of our season 9 battle reports so a late entry here for the tower but success for them so far for the blood angels they need a win here as well so you can expect a bloodthirsty battle between these two sides i think it's been a good while since you've seen these two armies collide definitely different lists to anything previous uh where these two armies are battled against each other especially the blood angels at the revamped list for them so before i run through the list here for the tower just mentioned the patrons at gold level and so they get the name shout out at the start of all of our games and also a patronic dice to use at some point during the battle as well so that's andrew swan chris heim frank furfecki jordan russell justin burton longbow bb luke schwengel marcus anthony maxfield knuckles evelyn huxley dave humphries nicholas lucas patrick nielsen paul cook peter almo ray cross tyler summers the artists falling known as veg dylan moore samuel pananuri at martin aka vagabond and then bruce zhao as well ak chasso marks so we've got a tau patronic uh player here to help out the tao in this game there's also silver level patrons i call their names at the end of the game and you can check out the credits the we have four phoenix lords uh supporting the channel on youtube channel membership so that's chris kaminsky martin aka vagabond uh michael fryer and devin matthews they get allocated units in the game uh we'll cover those as i go through at the lists for both of these armies so for the tower as i'm running a uh double patrol and i'm going to take them as towers so it's five plus for the overwatch when that happens hq choices uh in the enforcer battle suit that's the tao commander he's gonna be the warlord come on the ghost tide will take command here quadruple fusion blaster for him uh warlord traitors goes to walks amongst us so that's a guaranteed six-inch advance available uh for him and then he's also got the relic vectored maneuvering thrusters so a six-inch move uh after he makes a shooting attack in the shooting phase as well then second hq choice is ethereal just here then third hq choice is long strike here the character uh hammerhead gunship smart missile systems for him two seeker missiles and the hammerhead railgun being taken for that character then onto troops choices i've split the breaches up i was running two units of ten taking some advice uh from some of the comments and and split those down in two units of five so i've got four units of five breaches no further upgrades for them uh two strike teams here as well uh with pulse rifles no further upgrades for those and those are five strong in each of those units as well under fast tech four units of drones one unit four gun drones and then three units of four shield drones being taken as well then for elites uh two five site marksmen one and two then also taking uh the ghost kill loadout for him uh is the fusion collider double fusion blaster shield generator being taken two stealth drones uh being taken for him also and then the fourth hq choice here is four crisis battle suits uh one of them equipped with shield generator and double plasma rifle two of them taking double plasma rifle and or two of them taking single plasma rifles and also a single fusion blaster for each of them and the squad leader has taken missile pod and double fusion blaster for him then on to heavy supports it's hammerhead gunship number two so that'll fight alongside uh long strike same loadout for him but taking the high capacitance railgun option at the upgrade for the main gun then two units of two broadside xv88 battle suits as these ones across here double high yield missile pods smart missile systems and seeker missile for each of those and then the other squad uh the heavy rail rifles double plasma rifle and seeker missile for each of them that's the list here for the tower uh its potency has been demonstrated with firepower but can have vulnerabilities especially if the blood angels get stuck into close combat uh the towel be cut down without mercy here two very different armies very different play styles and strategies we shall see which prevails in this fight so that's the list for the tout as for phoenix lords michael ferreira is going to take command uh of these broadsides here the the heavier air rifles and chris kamiski will take command here out of the ghost kill take a look now see what the blood angels have in their list so it's been a very tough choice to make here these are two of my own armies but aaron allen will gladly step up to the mark here and take command of the blood angels so i've chosen to go xenos and to run my tower here but aaron will take command of this blood angels force again double patrol being taken for these uh so first hq choice is captain lazarus dornhammer so it's the smash captain jump pack upgrade for him at thunderhammer and stormshield been taken will trade his gift of foresight so in each turn he gets to reroll a hit roll a wound roll and a saving throw as well relic is the hammer of bale as it's a straight three damage no minus to the hit rolls uh thunder haven't been taken for him you can take a second warlord train uh it has to come from the space marine book so i've given him the imperium sword it's an extra attack and plus one strength on the charge then two librarian dragnots two more hq choices being taken it's romulus and remus just on the left hand side uh loadout for those is exactly the same as with psychic powers quickening and wings of sanguine has been taken on both of those trekknots fourth hq choice is a terminator chaplin he'll lead the deep strike assault when it comes in so he's been upgraded to master of sanctity uh this is an extra listening and plus one two reciting listeners as well world trade is wires orator uh it's uh so it costs one cp instead of two for the commanding oratory stratagem as and then relic for him is icon of the angel so this is one that's quite crucial it's a six-inch aura grants three-row re-rolls for charges for units near him so the idea is he deep strikes down other units nearby uh we'll get three rolls on the charges quite a crucial relic been taken and so he's taken litany of hate which is three rolls and then on top of that mantra of strength has been taken which will help him plus one attack strength and damage and close combat and canticle of hate being taken as well uh to give that plus two inches to charge rolls uh two units within six inches of him troops choices two units of five in curses just over there on the right uh two units of five regular intercessors with auto bike ride auto bolt rifles uh then onto elites five terminators here thunder hammers and storm shields then seven sangrenery guard all equipped with the blades uh and the angelus bolt guns add then two invicta tactical wall suits being taken as well and then finally it's plasma at interceptors here five of them as for fast attack so that's the listing of the blood angels there's a ground force to work on the ground and to pick up points for secondaries and hold objectives and so on and then there is this deep strike element of the blood angel's arm that the tower must contain and if they can in this game couple of phoenix lords taking command here as well so we've got devin matthews have put him uh on the plasma uh inceptors for this game uh and then also martin aka vagabond i put him on to the uh sanguinary guards it'll be the vagabond guard here for the blood angels so that's the list of this blood angels force the idea is up to the end of the year we're just virtually finishing off the qualifying rounds last chance the blood angels to qualify to the last state same for the tau as well just rushing in a few more games and then we will go on to the knockout stage of our season nine battle reports we'll take the top eight armies whichever ones that is uh what they'll go into a draw and we'll pit them against each other it will be the knockout stage the exciting part of our season battle reports uh so the winners of that then go through and work our way all the way through to the grand final hopefully at the end of the year for all to enjoy reckon we're roughly going to split these battle reports these league games 50 50 so you'll see half of them on youtube and then half will be on youtube channel memberships if you want to we'll take a look now at scenario and deployment for this league battle okay so we've got a scenario it's retrieval mission it's been randomly determined from grand tournament 2021 strike force size games uh so deployments are looking something like this uh aaron has elected to go at this end here with the blood angels that's their deployment zone marked by the orange dice got no man's land across here and then this will be the tower deployment zone on this side there are six primary objectives now four of them in like a box just inside no man's land across there and over there and there's also a home objective for each army as well one just there for the tower and the blood angels one uh just there next to the admik terrain so then for primary objectives here take and hold at the start of the command phase if you control one or more objective markers it's worth five points two or more is worth another five points and if you control one the opponent it's worth another five points on top of that for secondaries there is the minimize losses option here for each player but each of us will need to choose three adds then we'll just cover terrain briefly here as well add it so it's like this terrain we will play as munotorum armor containers it's exposed position on top but infantry and so on can take position behind it and receive the benefit of light cover same for these and these this because the height of it will play as uh line of sight blocking terrain and then there's some ad mech terrain here on the board as well uh which will play the usual uh for that and that large structure over there those large containers will play as large unitorum armored containers as well that's terrain and we'll go on to choice of secondaries each of us will choose three all right so secondaries have been chosen for both sides uh the blood angels have gone for a tree of octaria state and engage in all fronts that's getting units into table quarters and then performing actions in each of those table cultures for a tree of octarius data as well and then aaron's gone for uh it's not commonly used but it's chosen to go for death from above uh so that's rewards for uh destroying units either with shooting as or in close combat as with units that arrive from reserves on that turns the idea is to have an effective deep strike attack and then raking a load of points when that attack goes ahead uh retrieve octaro stays engaging all fronts for the tower as well so you can expect a good spread of play across the board also chosen assassination uh three points available for each of the characters there's four of them for the blood angels four points available if we can bring lazarus down secondaries for both sides we'll start alternating placing units on the board all right just to mention the battery mat and terrain that we're using in this game it's the battery maps from gamemake.u on this really nice martian uh landscape see it rolls out nice and flat we just mark up the boundary here with these pipes for this size battle also using their industrial terrain set that's this building here that one over there these buildings across here all from video description below all right so deployment is done for both sides here uh blood angel's intercessors here in this corner uh in cursors deploying just outside the deployment zone uh double drag knot here romulus and remus the two librarian dragons side by side just making use of this lannister blocking terrain also shielded by this blocking unit here you can see the other unit of intercessors just there at the back and then the other universe curses is just over there in that corner and the two at invicta tactical wall suits have paired up uh one this side of the containers and then the other one's just over the other side but uh infiltrating in getting ready to make an early moving aaron's hoping to go first here it's a 50 50 chance for the tower some aggression from them as well there's a ghost kill this is like the first time on the channel clash potentially between these two infiltrating dragnots and the ford's deploying go skill tactical warfare suit ready to move out uh so turn one is going to be important this game for sure again making use of the line of sight blocking terrain and then just forming a gun line across here that's ready to fire but ready to move out at the same time smaller units are breeches one and two broadsides through the higher missile pods here ethereals just tucked in there next to them drones spread across the other unit broadsides deployed across here commander surrounded by drones both of the hammerheads these are the last units to put on the board fireside marksman here on top he doesn't get terrain uh but if he's tucked in here for infantry he will and then the other ones just tucked behind the barrels there two units of breeches across that side and then for reserves i'm flanking uh going into tactical reserve here with these two units as of uh fire warriors and then the tactical drones going with the crisis battle suits uh here to deep strike or manta strike onto the board for aaron add plenty deep strikers here terminators deep striking in plasma inceptors sanguinary guard uh lazarus and the chaplains the usual deep striking assault force here for the blood angels it's a tower gonna need to keep one eye as i say over their shoulders at one eye up in the sky to keep an eye on what's going on there with the deep strikers coming in but then at the same time uh they need to spread out and claim objectives so a tough match up here for the tower they need to play with caution uh but aggression at the same time deployment's done for both sides uh we'll roll up to see who goes first all right so we'll roll up to he goes first it's a big roll and go patronic if you wish i'll just use my trusty towel dice you can okay you can use my towel dice if you want to uh it's after me i'm xenos it's a one blood angels are going first it's a two okay it's enough blood angels will go first and so there's no choice involved here blood aims to take the first turn tau we've deployed with some caution here but is it enough blood angels we'll make the first move here term one coming up next for them [Music] so so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] all right so movement's complete the bullet just here so intercessors at holding position encourages holding position they're already on an objective so happy enough to sit there uh dragonite's moved across taking advantage of this line of sight blocking terrain so too has the other librarian dragnot and across here the marines against the building here have moved across onto the home objective to hold that these small infantry units just doing their job being used tactically at this stage two drag nuts have moved down aaron is glad to be going first here this one heading off towards the ghost skill and the other one heading off in this direction plenty of daca available from them and they've moved close enough to get some charges off as well uh it's not moving with the other encouragers in that corner and they have performed retrieve octarius data that's movement done psychic phase next this one here it's romulus or remus not sure but it's sad aaron's going to put the psychic powers on to him so i think he's planning to go for a kamikaze charge of one of these [Music] first first yes if it moves four no so command reroll okay here it comes perils oh no right that's annoying so he's going to take d3 more to win which is a shame he'll take three oh okay three wounds taken it won't be destroyed won't affect uh the ability of the drug not at all but three wounds taken all right five left so question is now he's damaged he might just send him in anyway oh nice wings isn't it wings came first oh so he's stuck there oh boy right okay whether it's worth using the other power or not probably the charge is too far away at the risk of another perils yeah i'm just gonna risk it here with the plus one to charge it's actually a nine inch charge to go around and to reach the ghost kills aaron thinks it's still worth going for six required okay that's gone off there we go all right so quickening on him as that psychic phase finished we'll go on shooting phase next i'm sorry i'm rushing along here uh smite is available here it comes it goes off on an eight nothing i can do d3 multiple wounds two inch taken i'll yeah i'm gonna have to take and keep those drones alive so two wins will go on the ghost skill it's a bit out of sync this one can smite through here i should have done that oh there's no problems that can go ahead seven so it will go off and further d3 mortal wins two more okay a bit reluctant to move out but happy to to smite um dog i'd have to take the damage on him again so we'll drop down to six that is annoying there for the ghost skill taking damage early on it's pretty obvious it's going to take more but damage flowing in here in the psychic phase we're going shooting phase next yeah we've uh we're trying to remember the rules here for this we did declare its line of sight blocking trains we're both happy enough we've taken those wounds put them back on uh smite is it's visible targets required and that ghost kill is hidden by that large generator perhaps loads of electrical power coming out and smoke and so on uh making that line of sight blocking terrain so no damage coming through there on the ghost kill okay so shooting phase you're gonna start over here uh with the invicta tactical wall suit minus one firing through the admix terrain and aaron's declared all his firepower so he can pick whichever weapon he wants to go for here and start the shooting lots of daca available and some damage to weaponry on those things as well yes we'll start with the autocannon it's going into long strike yeah it's going in here it's damaged twos it could cause a bit of trouble and it's a pretty good start okay falls to wind oh no this minus two isn't it because it's devastator so i'll take five ups i've passed none that can't be six damage straight away uh crawl i'll come on reroll one of those straight away because it's about the highest caliber stuff that's going to come through um so we'll go peter elmo here close but no i will have to take six damage i'm going to immediately drop down to seven wounds left now that's not good not good at all okay next okay the heavy boulder into the closest squads in there yep it's missed okay okay so then we'll go for the heavy stubborn shots this is going into the farthest unit this student here yep i'm looking for fours not so good and threes to wound no okay uh frag strong grenade launcher um there's only five so it's six yeah okay look for fours two threes just the one and not saved so we'll take him away one casualty okay that's it okay it's just the one casualty there but a brilliant result against long strike only seven wounds left on him i'm sure aaron's gonna be tempted to offload the other auto cannon shots into him as well but we'll see we'll let him decide what to do lots of stacker available from the second drag knot and much of what it fires at probably be three plus to hit now okay five power has been declared so auto cannon and heavy bolt this time is going to go into long strike uh and the rest of the decker into the breaches across here okay so um yeah see what he gets [Applause] this is good now if you can get some wounds diced on it again four out of four that's ridiculous i've got to get some five pluses if i found all of these i'll be dead come on okay good result not bad now dice kicking in okay that was a good result okay okay heavy bolter yeah uh two hits yeah five's to win one comes through and this one's at minus two yeah so another five plus requires to be two damage blocks that one as well oh we've just blocked 10 damage from coming through frankston grade launcher next two just shots threes one hit no one no end okay and then the eight shots from the twin iron how heavy stoppers threes wow seven and a load of wounds i've got to feed these are minus two as well yes they are yeah it's a potential wipeout sixes nope they're gone they've been gunned down one volley that's the end of those well that's not bad from those scout dragons so that's not too bad at all add initial strike here from the blood angels the scout drag knots doing well good decker from them uh softening up one of the vehicles as well and they're more than happy to fight in close combat so shooting phase finish don't need to ask if there's any charges there will be uh we'll go on to charges and overwatch next okay bit of a trick here i'm going to try the invisible charge here because i can't see to overwatch so i'm not going to declare it if aaron get him in it will stop the overwatch from taking place across here so we know it's a nine inch charge with the plus one and he's gonna double up there's loads of uh imperial players here it's quite a heavy number of those chris heim yeah his imperial space marine sister is a battle player die hard imperial player longbow bb right you can roll those separate just to see how each one contributes here so uh chris heidi gets me a two two and then uh yes a six longbow bb for six uh eight nine no is right okay so see what he gets because if you re-roll you have to roll both so this one would have been a one okay so the question is do you want to reroll that now the other ones are fairly safe yes i think so we'll spend our say pay for the reroll okay so chris again come on chris come on ah it's over he's order one all right yes his longboat no they don't don't want him going in maybe no that they trust the mayor and trust them that they've decided to keep him back and all will be revealed later on so these experienced imperial players there is a reason that they're forcing your hand back from putting the drag knot in so on to the next charge okay so we'll put this guy in here okay they're saying trust us the overwatch will not harm him so i will overwatch on a nine the charge will go ahead he can that's charging anywhere it's no problem so fusion collider number of shots just the one um i'll combine it with the three or the other two fusion blasters five pluses is good get one uh threes to wound yes straight through the armor and at that range ah no fusion blasters the old rules it's 26 choosing the best [Music] and we'll take the four so four wounds coming through dragnot survives that yeah she tucked him in there didn't declare against the drones that's as far as he can go but contact has been made against the chris kaminsky ghost kill here which is stripped away somewhere he's dropping down to nines the other one is going to try and go for infantry so saying aaron can't get through the terrain with the walker uh but if you can tuck him in uh it's a close combat then he can try and take on those infantry that'll be a five inch five inch charge with a plus one easy peasy four yeah seven and he goes okay both drag knots have made it in just cause an early disruption here against the towers doing their job against the tower really there's no point trying to hide really on the board you might as well do something with them um so and it's going to pick you up some victory points because you've got engaged in fronts of them as well yeah okay so uh helping to pick up an objective always drag the objective of them now you're not allowed to do that it's a good move though um right so we're going to combat resolution here there's no danger of us interrupting as aaron can uh fight at leisure here right so voratex plus one the ghost kills it's okay because uh we've got a couple of drones i believe we can use those if wings come through in close combat and we've also got a shield generator as well which counts in close combat also so not the easiest of targets to bring down four attack space plus one on the charge needing threes so four out of five is fine it'd be twos for wounds which they'll win you could dash around here so far from the blood angels minus three minus three so take the shield generator of four pluses yeah we passed three that's fine and this one uh i'll s i'll take it on a drone so two plus yep one of the drones has gone so we'll play it that way that drone there can disappear and that's it no damage taken at all interesting result and then across the other side five attacks and get all of these to hit almost okay four of them have and there'll be twos to kill okay so three would i okay i've taken the three that nearest the dragon i'm actually too far away now to count as being close to combat so they're no longer in combat um and then we'll fight back here with the ghost kill which is needing fives and it does kick back and it causes a wound and no more i'm sorry past all right so no damage in return combat's resolved a bit of morale i think we'll be okay but we'll figure out morale and any points picked up here at this stage but so far so good not too bad blood angels causing some damage a bit worrying about launch strike taking some early uh wounds just that and the two dragon knots causing disruption here so far so good and for the blood angels on their first ten okay so morale's been resolved uh drones okay uh the one casualty squad is okay but the other squad attacked by the dragon did found morale but just the squad leader at left just there points picked up two points for engaging up fronts thanks to the early movement from the two dragnots so two points to zero at this stage and a retrieve octarius data has been achieved over in that table quarter across there by the blood angels as well pretty much other than that charge there it's pretty much all you could do really at this stage so aaron making uh initial impact around the fringes here trying to erode that away as much as possible the ideal situation is there's a gaping hole here the ideal situation is for the deep strikers to get in amongst this slot here if possible so that process has begun uh but we'll go on to the first turn of the game next for the towers they need to add bring their guns to bear need to move out but at the same time need to position themselves embrace themselves for potential at deep strike attack next turn we're going to turn one for the tower next all right so movement's done for the tower we have backed out of close combat here with the chris kaminsky ghost kill just making use again of this line of sight blocking terrain uh then we have to collect coin here with the commander you shifted across here just a little shots against the drag knot it's kept everything else stationary the idea of him i think is perhaps to shoot and then use his vector maneuvering thrusters to get back into position to grant the the six inch bubble free rolling hit rolls reposition these drones just watching the back door here shifted these across uh to claim the objective uh the go skills head off in this direction as well the drones on the objective also and then the lone breacher has moved across to here and performed to retrieve octarius data and the other units moved out and has claimed that objective that's it from the tower going to take advantage of koi on now as tempted to use it later perhaps the deep strikers arrive we'll find out whilst we're stationary that frees us up to move out in later turns it's a case of let loose and fire power clear away some units is the plan and then await the deep strike attack if it comes in next turn sarah's choice doesn't have to blood angel's more potent if they do arrive on turn three so there's no guarantee they will turn up next term but tell me to be careful then across here uh two wounds restored it's two cp it's quite costly but wanting to bump the wounds up on long strikes is back up to nine uh then the ferry as well as where i forget uh sense of stone i think it's called the six plus field no pain uh for units nearby as well we're gonna shooting phase next okay so we'll start with the commander uh we'll start with him we're going to try and put a marker light hit onto that direct knot and we do okay so it's taken one i think do i let loose of these rockets early i probably should use them early on against vehicles [Applause] so i'll pay the cp for uplinked market light and put another d3 on him yes another two marker light hits on him i don't mean the missiles can be fired from different units this one here or check line of sight but i think he's pretty much got no target heads at aaron's units tucked away so now i could see this stroke note but there's no point putting any marcus on him so we're going to shooting now we'll fire the commander so get his reroll ones for shooting against that target needing twos scenario three fives and six threes to wound these will punch straight through the armor two make it through uh i'll leave it at that there's no panic kiss or go for um 2d6 damage and we'll go patronic they can help us on our way andrew swan over feeling he's an imperial player but it's too late now he helps the tower three and then we'll go frankfurt a six will blow the drag knot sky higher two no okay so five wins taken dropping down to four left on the drag knot okay we may not even need these rockets so i'm going to play it with these next uh all the higher missile pods into the drag knot and and then we'll we'll leave the rockets the second missiles and then we'll go smart missile systems across here and try and flush out these in cursors so 16 shots here against the dreadnought with the high or misappoints tag got a lot of firepower to call upon it and that's not so good queen gives us our reroll everything the commander's relocated by the way she's tucked himself back to where he was it's a brilliant rule it really helps out to try and make use of it whilst have as much firepower as possible i've just dropped a dice there and then we are on i think your toughness six yep yeah threes to wound oh not so good but still six have come through so there is trouble here minus two with advanced targeting systems here fives yeah nice gun trigger's gone does it explode he doesn't okay i'm trying not destroyed here in a hail of rocket firepower okay markle lighted up but dispatched quickly enough i wanted to fire those first that freeze the rest of this lot to go after him uh we'll do these smart missile systems next this is what's helped tao in the previous games there's this coordination of firepower here so we're looking for fours with koian being particularly helpful that's your usual shooting phase and then korean gets three rolls so looking something like that straight five so minus three pluses not so good just the four uh minus one then you're on cover but then we ignore cover with smart missile systems so four pluses might bring one down no just a wound okay okay we'll go long strike next smart missile system is actually in range of the incursive so we'll go after them uh and then the rail gun uh into that drag knot so twos uh this one because of uh queen and then threes wound no minus on this one though so five saves of uh regular not getting cover so it kills that way okay so i managed to get one casualty caused send the railgun gotta be a patreon for this one now there is one tower patreon here a new patreon bruce zhao aka chaso marx here but uh i really i'm not sure what a point to use that one but that's an important one um well yeah i'd say now yeah yeah we'll go now long strikes about as pointed as shot as you can get so we're looking for twos threes do i still think i'm on twos because i start on twos of him then it's minus one and then it's plus one is hit rolls so it sort of cancels out so i sit back on twos again oh okay um so it's got a three anyway so that's gone through so then we will continue on the debut roll here for shaso marks uh twos to win because i'm plus one to the wound rolls that goes through it's gonna glide straight through effective enough here we can't sit like this with ninth edition we can't sit here for too long but owe the joy when they are able to uh to form up like this and let loose with their firepower that shooting done i don't think there's anything else here to do missions pretty much accomplished breaches could have shot but no target for them now they sit on that objective so we'll leave at this point obviously no charges take place uh no morale that unit there's gonna be fine just taking one casualty so lend it here we'll calculate points the tower constricted it's engaging in fronts is going to be a no this term uh and we've performed retrieve octarius data across this side here so that's been marked uh but that'll be it for points for zero points at this stage assassination no the two dragons still look uh here at the back term one finishes for the tower they've deleted a few blood angels units we're going to the second turn of the game as battle's far from over and the big question does aaron bring in the reserves now or does he hold off those questions will be answered as as we're going to turn to the blood angels next all right turn two here for blood angels as you can see that aaron's gonna try and go for it he's been checking around for chinks in the armor here for the tower i think he's found a few so dragnot's moving out romulus and remus flanking either side of this building and curses have moved across deep striking in with the captain who's landed here with the plasma inceptors he'll grant the rear ones for the shooting so that's devin matthews they're in charge of that unit now across here holding position with these these rodded this turn yeah it's just doing their job uh helping to bring in victory points for secondaries this units here is held on the home objective and then over on the other side you can see the terminators right in that corner a little gap has been found through to hammerhead number two across here chaplains with them as well so i thought i had that covered but aaron's managed to squeeze them in just there on the edge and sang grenade guard they're staying off for now so the idea is to keep the captains alive and then bring those in perhaps a bit later on uh turn three onwards okay so the attack has begun attacking on two sides here we'll go on to psychic phase next yeah wings of sanguine it's not like i can look at this here aaron is going aggressive against the tower it's not looking too good at this stage we're going for this dreadnought this time so now he can see oh doesn't matter he's going for gonna kill off bunch of drones first of all yeah what's the damage is it damage the super charge right you got the captain so he knows most of it's going to be absorbed on drones but if the damage does come through it'll be damaged too but is it worth it yeah it's going to it's going to supercharge hoping for a lot of hits and winds coming through and getting past the drones and then damage onto the broadsides so i'm just going to roll up two at a time here just for super charging purposes four shots yeah i'll do these one at a time okay all right so three hits threes to win two come got him finally get rid of that drone really good and the last one takes it on the drones from the other unit but stays alive okay that's why i take the shield drones uh just for that five plus feel no pain and with them they've done their job they've protected him from being destroyed although four wounds have come through so one plasma inceptor self two self incinerating was costly could have gone either way that it's not too bad one drone unit completely destroyed and almost bringing down uh one of the broad sides as well so that's shooting from them complete and that's it across the board okay um chaplain as yes he does have a storm bolter yep so i'll just stick two shots into give me four because he's a terminator yeah all hit see if you can do this all wounded thing no no and not saved uh casualty taken just one of the regular dudes yeah you can go all right okay shooting phase finished charges uh next for the blood angels yes commanding oratory uh here by the way so that's uh that can be used that's traction is used uh in a phase other than the command phase aaron's using it now as that means he can then play canticle of hate which will give the six inch aura four plus two to the charge rolls just to try and really help those terminators out as they prepare to go in at the relic on the chaplain as well will grant reroll charges so that means you'll need a rerollable seven to make it in against ham head number two the question is where to charge first this charge is possible he could go in if he wants to uh librarian drug not here here terminator is also available to charge okay patreon is at the ready sarah's picking up the dicer uh so these are going to charge first uh we're just checking the rules for tau so i'm not it's not a strategy anymore so i've refunded the cpa i paid a cp for overwatch they have the ghost kill shouldn't done that it doesn't cost anything it's an army ability now uh so the other question i had is uh if found charge is here and i use overwatch across here it still means that other units are going to get overwatch for free it's not going to be strategic based so for example if i overwatch of these two for the greater good and not overwatch of those i can still there and then charges i could still overwatch with them so there is good flexibility here with the overwatch here for the towel and we are tower setbacks it's fives hits as well so i'm just going to decide what to do how many units i arrange are going to fire at the terminators as they go in so i'm going to overwatch of these two so for the greater good with long strike and then hammerhead number two is gonna fire as well okay so we'll go high capacitance rail gun first of all two solid shots one hit does come through and then we're moves they're all made in comfortably here against this vehicle um yes fear of the first being played as well so minus one to hit rolls then plus one again you know threes oh come on all of them the other twos two still as well one's fouled uh so that's five five plus the one plus the one right okay now i'm pretty sure for safe you probably just noticed this here drones on standby to absorb potential damage here we'll just double check i'm 99 sure i can use it for shooting or close combat we'll just make sure this is very important but drones could save the day to a degree yeah just as if i'm wounded which i have been we're shooting on close combat so we'll use these precious drones here which are rapidly gonna become unit of the game here for the town pretty much anything that's keeping the tower alive so uh here we go so the first drone we'll take this sorry about this mr dreangirl but we'll we'll try and tank your halberd first of all so yes we do and we survive it what an insult okay precious drones uh so then we're gonna work our way through five of the uh fist attacks here takes it on the drone and it dies okay so if he goes then the next one two five up to stay alive we don't okay so it's cost us another drone this is all good i'm happy enough for the results so far no that makes it through three damage ap minus three five plus to save no all right so we'll take three damage sense of stone sixes we block one so we'll take two on him and then the next one twos just about fives to survive neo drones depleted here and the next one the last one tanks on the drone and it doesn't survive so the drone squad has sacrificed itself flying into the dragnot here as it lunges at the broadsides but it's kept them alive vitally both of those models have survived they have saved the day for that unit next across here so four attack space plus one for charging then another dice may as well yeah go patronic there's still loads of imperial players mark symphony uh not declared but suspicions he is an imperial player okay so threes oh the patrons missed okay so they're all hit two strings four wins come through so add our tank it on the drone which we do so that leaves three wounds remaining that drone is dead there's no five plus of him all right and then we'll go for uh four plus shield generator rolls we do block two this is on the uh the chris kaminsky goes skill here yeah i'm going to come over here on this one just try and give him a good shape which we fail so we'll take those wounds which is three isn't it yeah yeah okay so we dropped down to seven ghost kill is alive i'm a monster i might be able to stay in combat and shoot i think we can we may pull back a little unit shoot here okay so that's that stage dragnots have gone in but they haven't brought down their primary targets and it's drones here that really have helped out the tower but it's a nasty situation for the town it's not looking particularly healthy all the edge units here units on the fringe have pretty much been destroyed and now blood angel units in amongst the tower at this stage i'm sure commander ghost tide is um beginning to sweat a little inside his suit and we'll go on to uh is at any point we'll fight back here we get a hit and um strength six no no wind comes through uh we'll calculate uh this one will be three attacks no hits and we'll figure out what we need across there just on the attack with the marks from no hit two hits come through a wound comes through against the drag not normal i'm a save fouled okay wind calls dropping down to six that's it okay we're out to resolve next yes morale's all good across the board no problem across here that's how infantry units have been wiped out and so morale is fine we'll calculate points here for blood angels as but they have done very well this time all right points wires uh it's ten points for primaries to the blood angels retrieve octarian state won't count the points those yet but uh two table quarters so those points are coming later on occasional fronts has improved he is just over in that quarter he's swung around to here so all four table quarters now so three points picked up for that and they're from above was the terminators they arrived by deep striker got in and destroyed him hit number two so two points picked up for that 17 points tower on zero yeah are we going to get any points for primaries that one on model count yeah just about oh and went across there yeah yes okay so i'm gonna get some points of primary it's not gonna give up yet there's no way we need to give up here got plenty of resources available uh but we've been strangled by the blood injuries here we need to create a breathing space for the tower and at the same time uh we've got to push out and claim objectives and so on we have reserves some reserves available questions as to whether the tower bring them in now uh or hold them off aaron has kept some reserves in his back pocket as well uh critical situations for both armies as the tower prepare to try and fight back with firepower and as the blood injuries have committed themselves to the fight here so a key stage of the game here victory uh is not guaranteed for either side at this point we're getting a nasty and vicious match up we knew it would be but it's playing out that way here uh deadly firepower and close combat taking place good game though so this is a matchup that stretches back through the the eons of time on the channel but as per usual no mercy being shown by both sides we will go on to the second turn for the tower as they desperately try and fight back we'll see what commander goes to if he is going to be king of the channel he needs to rescue uh this situation right now we're going to turn two for the we've elected to stay in close combat across here the go skill battle suit there's a monster so reckon it gets to shoot at the drake knot it's remaining stationary of these granting rear ones uh here if the ferry was just tucked himself around there i've moved the third final unit of shield drones across to lend support for these units ghost tides remain where he is for now i hope these terminators deal with at the back hammerhead's pulled out uh long strikes pulled out and headed off across this direction he'll not be able to shoot those i was planning to shoot into combat with those but they're not monsters so i can't fire those uh into the uh drag nut there so we've pulled back i'm just over three inches away from him but i've kept just being three of the objective to contest it at least and i pulled out close combat add it with the marks when he's headed off in that direction as the breeches have moved just behind the containers but keep him in range of the objective and have performed to retrieve add arctarus data with them so just a slight correction with them they need to be there if they're going to perform rod so just adjusting there with the breaches that's moving down tower across here though we are constricted we're getting no points again for engaging in fronts uh but that's the way we're going to play at this stage it's just uh an awkward situation for them at this point but we're trying to create a breathing space for us here by destroying this blood angel's assault at this stage if we can we're going to shooting phase next for the tower that's the battle against the blood angels okay so i'm going to try and mark light up the terminators first of all three's for a hit he can see through to them this is very important role six okay so then what i'm going to do is play up blink marker light put another d3 on that'll do just so i can find my rockets so that's two on those it's the first stage just putting a marker on them okay so i'm going to fire here the commander is going into the the drag node aaron's just played smoke screen just the nick of time so minus one to hit rolls there's gonna be threes no rerolls available bit of pressure here i need to try and bring this thing down and what do we get god what do you say to that oh dear uh yes but aaron puffed smoke and it saved the day confusing the targeting stephen matthews squad they've been picked on here by the town and tao not tolerant of superior firepowers they've picked on that unit stripping them away lazarus though unharmed at this stage so we'll take him away as well closest target is the captain we'll pepper him with some drone shots so drones are going to shoot across here lots of shots needing fives the captain should be fine it'll be threes to wound in there strength five okay she's got five saves to make two plus because of the storm shield fine ting ting ting okay so that's that fire power resolved it's going quite well here not too bad dragnot's gone destroyed this unit down here we've still got this problem uh with the terminators and i'm not sure what to do about him right okay so i made a decision i'm gonna fire these as there was a temptation to go smart minister systems across that we're not just gonna unleash everything we have into the terminators including the two missiles which you can fire because of the two uh marker light hits i think this is the last of our firepower it is okay two second missiles we'll do those first so needing fours we're all in ones yep because the marker light hit uh threes to wind twos to end actually string fate they're both wounded right okay minus two so aaron can tank these one at a time you can use imperial patronic dice if you so wishes yeah there's the red cross dice if going to be enough to wipe out the squad yeah i've got twos in there that's rerolling the ones so we're looking at something like that um threes to wound uh we might be able to bring one down ap minus one so three ups just one point taken half destroyed them terminators still on the rampage here and they better kick out a fair amount of attacks as we go into town three for the blood angels is there any other kind of firepower here we've unleashed as much as we can it's not been too bad it's been damage caused across here but it hasn't gone according to plan entirely dragnoll is still on the loose terminators as well uh there's no doubt they're going to cause trouble for the tower but we're quite compact tightly to give us overwatch again could help us out to some degree but the tower really been enclosed in here by the blood angels very effectively in the game so far really it's still quite early stages it's just turned two we'll calculate points see how well the tail i've done uh this point in the game okay so score lines 13 points to 17 at this stage three points picked up for assassination we killed romulus or remus and ten points picked up for primaries as well uh two rods have gone ahead the same as aaron so we're equal on that one at engaging the fronts no we're only in two table quarters at this point we're going to turn three now the middle stage of the game blood angels as do have units that can keep the pressure up on the tower and it may be the case that if they can keep the tower constricted in this corner then they may well be able to go on to victory there could be one unit that could tip the game in favor of the blood angels and that's the the vagabond guard as we've called them uh the sanguinary yard could turn up uh to really put the tower under pressure uh and cut units down but we'll see what happens we'll go into the third turn of the game for the blood angels next okay so guys this is a good move again from the blood angels here just talking about the way aaron's used the army in this game it's pretty much uh how i planned to use the list uh before the blood angels so you saw the dragnots go in early they're scouting dragons just to throw them in uh against the enemy the second wave of dragons romulus and remus going in that was done exactly right and then during that time the infantry units just scattered around the board harvesting points for primaries and secondaries as well so aaron's done that exactly correct and then a second wave here of deep strike units well coordinated by iron as well and it's kept the tower continuing to keep them at in this corner just can't shake ourselves free from the blood angels at this stage so well done to aaron for commanding the blood angel as well just one step ahead of the tower just constantly on the back foot trying to salvage the situation lazarus has jumped across round to here we reckon if he can make it in against the crisis battle suits he'll wipe them out potentially sangrena guard have turned up to fire and charge possibly against the ghost kill that hold position here with the incursus these have moved out heading off towards object i think to to pass on to those uh staying on the home objective across there and then the drag not poised and ready to charge terminator's going after as ghost tired potentially could bring him down so some potential nasty charges and combats take place are only saving grace for the towel is this army wide overwatch could possibly save us but we'll have to see what happens so i'm just around the other side of the table i actually haven't been around here yet because i've been stuck in the stuck in the corner over there with my tail force but you can see aaron's holding unit here at the back that's quite how empty it is around here no one's on this objective yet i'm holding this one uh and cursors have turned up though as flanking aaron has brought them back on from reserve they've linked up with the chaplain and i think they're going to try and uh flush out the breaches that holding on to the objective just there oh no they're not they're rotting aren't they yes rocks that's three out of four uh completed and champions moved across so that's movement done yes there is psychic phase got one of the uh dragons still alive so there's the psychiatric knot yeah so we'll do uh quickening the phoenix lords here it's martin aka vagabond with the sanctuary guard against the chris kamiski ghost kill here what oh yes their base of three now plus one for savage echoes plus one on the charge they're five attacks each 35 attacks yeah you're joking okay and he keeps dropping his dice don't feel sorry for you right here comes two twos for hits oh look the dice are starting to stack up with level two if the dice is taking away the ones there are a few there's loads of them there's another one in it oh yeah every little help sir i think you're going to be on threes to wound i reckon that's the dice feeder roll as well supposed to end yeah strength five against chapter six then plus one to the wind rolls so three if we might survive no oh maybe nine eleven eleven yeah eleven minus four four ups there it is there's ten wins dead don't know if we blop gone sorry chris but that's the end of him had bold and ambitious plans for the go skill but it wasn't to be he's been mercilessly brought down and you've claimed yourself an objective as well so just moving the vagabond guard across they've claimed their first victim a little bit late what a nice middle of the game i suppose they're arriving at sort of the right time they've now well and truly claimed that objective uh blood angels have um shrunk the tower now we've got a even smaller sphere of influence on the board okay so we'll fight back with some units here again it's nothing to get too worried about here so fives with these nothing the commander will come back to the squad leader and in fives two hits a wound against the drag not regular save of three plus four attacks of the commander one hit and a wound against the terminator yeah two up past no problem all right so that's all our attacks uh back here at this stage so the situation we've got here looks like tower gonna lose this one here i don't think this situation we can't recover from this that base of firepower here we needed them uh but they've been tapped out by lazarus excellent play with him as there's no way we're really going to break out across the board but having said all of that we've got two wins for the tower and what's separating a lot of the armies is victory points it could be the case that the tower just need to try and rake in as many points as they can admit the fact that they've lost here but rake those points in as much as possible so but then blood angels are going to want to do the same they're going to want to rake in as many points as they can because they have ambitions of their own in the league it's not going according to plan here the script was the tao were to get their third win but aaron's taking command of the blood angels and used them masterfully here in this game and they've wreaked havoc against the upstart towel yeah aaron just pointed something out here he's teaching me how about the blood angels at this point he's picked out the which one did that from above this is very interesting right score two victory points the end of your turn if any enemy units were destroyed by a blood angels unified army that was set up on the battlefield in the reinforcement step of any of your movement phases so what's interesting is for example the terminators they turned up last turn but because they are a unit that arrive by deep strike at some point during the game they can continue picking up points for destroying units fascinating aaron's just picked up another six points this turn he gunned down a unit of drones uh lazarus who did arrive on a previous term but he can still be used charged in here and destroyed those they turned up this turn charged across and destroy them so six points being added for that secondary but uh that one which i thought wasn't that great there from bob it's actually if you do have a lot of deep strikers pretty good yeah okay so interesting one good choice of secondaries and picked out a good one and has raked in eight points for that so far yeah yeah if you go on a rampage of that secondary you can get tons of points for that good choice okay we'll give you an update on score uh but blood angel's starting to bring in quite a good total here yeah so it's 36 points of blood angels at this stage with three rods completed as well uh the towels still on thirteen so when the turn here we will press on for the towel they can still pick up points so not give up at this stage uh there's there's bigger things in mind with the legends on and points that we've picked up for that so we've gone to turn three for the tower they've lost we reckon but by how much how many points can they rake in perhaps a fighting retreat here but we'll try and bring in as many points as possible all right so add movement here for the tout 3 just moving the breaches that uh but still maintain within three inches of the objective five points picked up for primaries this turn across the other side you can see a small unit of fire warriors across there they've turned up from reserve and will perform rod that's moving back across here to get a range of this objective uh with him just pulling back and forming a cluster getting three inches away from him three inches away from him just because of the heroic intervention rules are available but there's nowhere to go we're just pulling together and hoping overwatch will save us if aaron is tempted to try and charge in again that's which he probably will movement dumb yeah that's all we can do we'll go on to shooting phase next everything's pulled back it's only long strike really that's available to shoot hello a pulsed pistol hits and doesn't wound breaches out of range and marker light isn't really going to do anything i'll see if i can see the dragon yeah i could i could put a situation in the league just to give an idea of what's going on aaron's death guard have qualified but just about they're the army that could get knocked down by another army coming up one of those armies that could do that on two victories is actually the tower here so there's a big incentive for aaron a bit weird uh he wants to use the blood angels to help his deaf guard through to the knockout stage but to do that needs to keep the tally for the tower down as low as possible to try and wipe them out stop them from scoring as quickly as possible so there is that massive incentive to do well the blood angels in turn if he does do well the blood angels that'll help them with this victory to potentially go through as well so this is the real uh the the rush at the end of the season here to try and get armies to qualify here which makes for exciting stuff that's firepower finished no charges turns over we'll calculate points for the tower and three so tao picked up some points here 23 points now three more points for assassination for bringing the last drag knot down engaging the fronts for three table quarters one two and three so two points picked up for that uh and then uh the rod over in that corner uh achieved as well so 23 points to 36 we'll go on to turn four now for blood angels can they deliver the killer blow against the tower uh it looks like they possibly can okay movement complete so this squad has moved up and taken their place 15 points picked up for primaries so uh nice lot of uh points coming in uh for primary objectives this turn now now he snaps that objective as well with the incursus this squad of incurs is moving up sanguinary guard moving across here i was wondering what unity gonna charge looks like he's gonna charge everybody all in one go he's nodding his head lazarus is poised to charge as well terminator interesting move uh rotting across here just to get all four of those done and that's pretty much movement complete no psychic okay uh well it loads to the missiles because we're gonna die so i'll put the two missiles in they need sixes got one two stoned yes minus two four up you're blocked okay and now the final final final final roll ghost uh come on a ghost tide himself a ghost who walks among us join the tower oh boy we're gonna have a bit of a hollywood finish here twos to wound four of them one at a time no patronic help goodbye lazarus four plus past no past stop it pass don't you dare leave me alone oh man that's crazy what would the damage have been blade destruction oh then he goes to both ah no no no any other charges oh boy what a way to finish up here right okay right pick a combat right here come the attacks this is lazarus here base of four charged savage echoes and imperium sword yeah okay so splitting the attacks yeah so three on uh long strike first okay twos twos oh come on minus three sixes we've stayed alive that one six has kept us alive but we will take six damage dropping down to three left ouch the commander now facing four attacks which have all hit two still won't oh come on six is double six but it's not enough we're dead that's six wounds we're gone and that's the end of come under ghost tied okay sangno guard next of their attacks three of them into this large unit two of them into the michael fry unit just there so aaron's just calculating out his attacks they'll fight well next to their captain maybe on plus one to hit roles and re-rolling once because they will get their hits okay now you'll be on i'll just check my toughness i we're bound to be toughness five in which case you'll need threes yeah so strength five toughness five but plus one to the green drawers so threes are good i think your blades are deadly now they start off ap minus three yeah so six of them need sixes we've got one so it's gonna he's got a long long long gum damaged two so that's the end of the michael fry unit they've been destroyed again another unit that's been picked on by the blood angels throughout this battle and then the rest just ripping the heart out of this tower force no stopping the blades all these ones all hit you roll so many dice and get all of them to hit ridiculous threes to wind this is a good view yes there's almost no point wrong yeah oh boy i'm weeping tears like prince l'oreal here so two that'll finish him and then eight wins like long gone gone gone gone i have been destroyed very very swiftly brutally by the blood angels just gliding through the armor of the tower here and therefore it's not even facing the right way this happened so quick there he is reading an imperial poster okay right they could go into him if they want to or yeah right we'll start we're happy to accept the terms of your surrender and he goes all this stuff can go well done that's the michael that's the vagabond guard there cutting through the broadsides fight back okay ready hit wounded two up save that's about the most contrasted combat on the history of the channel i think okay right so that's the end of that uh i've got no morale no who's left one marksman oh both marks are alive okay okay so they've survived at least uh but unemployed nothing to help them out right we'll calculate points here but it's uh oh no you've gone into the um the affair he can fight back with his sticks yeah we could strike back here three attack space plus one having equalizers equal is the one word that we should not use to describe this game uh he gets two hits come through try and wind on fives we get a wound it's actually a p minus one this will slay one of the sanctuary guards which it does the heart serves you right for charlie again okay so there's four of them left okay so morale you know they might have just in case you roll a six because i've actually lost three no no okay all right i'll calculate points here but a smashing turn from the blood annuals so a heap of points being scored this time uh we've not included rod but aaron's completed all four of those 15 points for primaries occasional fronts number three and then death from above aaron's maxed out on that uh these units here wiping out two units of broadsides taking out the commander you get an extra point for him as well so seven points coming in so fantastic score i think um i may well be using that secondary in games in the future the blood angels it's proved to be an excellent choice so at this stage we are going to carry on with the tower because there's a possible points to pick up here if i can bring him down perhaps with longer strike of shooting that may prove useful i've got another unit to bring on for a tree octarius data so not stop at this stage uh but we'll quickly move on to tower turn four coming up next okay so not too much to do here but i've turned these up here that's completed retrieve octarius data for us we've rushed across to claim that objective i've picked up five points holding that one and we stayed in close combat with him that's it we'll go straight into shooting phase so four plus to hit i'm gonna fire everything on into uh lazarus here it's all heavy weapons minus one's hit rolls then plus one's hit rolls it's long strike so fours so i could blow his head off here with the solid shot if we get a hit which we don't come on reroll thank you very much indeed missed oh there it systems ye those have hit and they all wounded three saves of two plus will not bring him down past no problem shooting phase finished all right combats after you yeah okay well maybe you might want to go there first just because my final final score here uh but well done to the imperium they have smashed the tower to pieces in this battle it's been a whirlwind of gore okay so we've got a final score here we'll show you how to work this out just to give you an idea of how this will go in the league uh so aaron will add max out here for primaries 45 points picked up for that rod was completed 12 points for that on his last return he'll get to 14 points for engaging all fronts very very well done with that one then death from above maxing out with that excellent choice of secondary 86 points of blood angels a huge scoreline for them a massive help for them in the league that means for them they will need another victory a chance to go through for the towel i had quite a high score line for the losing army five points we did a bit of rolling up dice for fire power across there at and points would have been picked up uh holding on to that primary on the final term for the tabs we've given him another five points twenty five points of primaries which is like k ish rod was completed as uh engaging the fronts we already were cut down in this game and limited uh two points would have come at the end of our turn uh there just before that aaron would have closed and wiped us out so four points in total and assassination we did bring down the two dragons six points so that 47 points to the tower it's not too bad at all for the losing army that'll go towards their grand total to see if they could still possibly make it through because of their two previous victories so it's all a rush at the end of the season here to get the last few armies to qualify blood angels could tau could or and his death card could linger in their eighth spot it's all up in the air at this stage uh as we finish off the last of the qualifying games for the season nine battle reports the plan is that once these games are finished we will then put eight armies through the top eight armies whichever they are into the random draw and then we will play knockout games to establish the channel champion for season nine still no idea who it could be lavar different armies are qualified this year and still qualifying uh yet to be completed but this particular game a smashing victory here textbook destruction of the tower uh by lazarus stonehewer who's led his army well and survived to the end and ended up right where my commander started started the game right so great game keep a lookout for more battles on the channel and over on youtube channel membership as well and we will now talk about units of the game for both sides yeah some contrasting choices here for the tower for keeping me in the game shield drones oh dear it's a desperate situation you have to choose them but they did help for sure if the blood angels multiple units performed very very well hard working infantry raking in the points one turn after the next romulus and remus were good for disrupting the tower uh the battle lines for picking out key units lazarus was superb uh but aaron's going to give it to the vagabond guard the sanguinary guard and whatever they touched died and melted before them uh that's so an excellent unit to
