I always upvote for AiC
This whole album is absolutely amazing! I can listen to it front to back without ever getting tired of it. Plus I love the little bits of almost borderline glam-rock that creeps through some of the tracks that reminds me of Mother Love Bone too.
Bleed the Freak master cut was taken from a live show they recorded in '91(?) and is considered the best version of that song so it was cut for the official version for Facelift. Seeing the live performance will show you immediately why. Layne had an incredible gift for singing, coupled with Jerry's spectacular metal riffs. They both harmonized so well. Interestingly enough, Jerry says in a later interview that most of his best metal riffs are sped up country tunes; a huge influence of his was country music.
favourite band ever. my dad took me too my first show when i was around 12 and it was them. iβve been to 3 concerts and 2 of them have been them!
AIC is just the heaviest of the grunge bands for me, the perfect bridge between heavy metal/metal and grunge. Jerry Cantrell is a maestro on the guitar.
AIC is my quintessential grunge band and easily favorite band as far as overall work completed. Can never get past Layneβs haunting lyrics and melancholic screams.
Freaking classic
I'm a simple man I see Alice in Chains I start headbanging upvoting and giving nice wholesome comments!
I loved whole album, but recently I gut stuck how insane good is Confusion from this album. The moment when he starts screaming ON SKINNED KNEES YOU CRAWL I was like, MY GOD I forgot how good this man could sing! Love <3
I was in a discussion with my daughter about how my music when I was teenager growing up in Seattle in the 90s although awesome was extremely depressing. My daughter was trying to claim the music she listens to now is "waaaaaay more depressing". She put in something by the Weekend, not sure the song. I listened and gave her a pssshhht. Then played down in a hole. She quickly conceded. She has no idea who she is dealing with.
