oh for the fire foreign [Music] hallelujah let us pray and so father we come before your presence this morning we recognize lord that you are god you are great and you are mighty to be praised we thank you father that you've blessed us and so with your blessings we come with our hearts with our right attitude we also come with our gifts in our tithes and offering to say thanks to you dad for you've provided for us even in this difficult times you have been our good god our shepherd our provider and we are blessed this morning and so we pray as we give out of the gratitude of our hearts in recognition of who you are that you are our sustainer our provider you receive from our hands this blessing for those who have given in virtual space we thank you for them and we also pray that you will bless them mightily and father take full control right now open the windows of your heaven and bless your people that we will continue to give according to your glory and according to your honor and for the further ends of your work here on earth until you come for us have your way now as we submit everything to you through christ's name we pray amen and hurtful at amen time as we invite sister stewart to home she's going to be leading us in her for our sister we will be doing this special item and for our pastor who will be bringing across praise god praise god praise god praise or god what in heaven lord we come to you this morning another time we come to you because we're your children we come to your god because it's our desire to come we come to you lord it's our duty to come we come to you this morning lord because we know that you are our creator we know that you are our provider we know almighty god that you are our friend we know lord god that you love us with an everlasting love so we come to you with confidence knowing god reminds that you will hear our prayers because you tell us in your word that if we pray then you almighty god will answer and so we have several examples of your answer and prayers with your children call upon you this morning present to you lord god almighty your daughter or your son who will be ministering in some lord you know all about the person i pray no that that person almighty god will come on the submission from you and that whatever she does or he does mighty god it will be done to your glory and to the honor of your name and that the almighty god there will be somebody getting something from a messaging song we are depending upon your lord we are your words for all we belong to yours we pray father god for your strength to god pray father god or whatever he said this morning we know it is coming from you and that it will go forth mighty god and somebody somewhere i will come to acknowledge you and to believe in your word almighty god because it's through your word when we know my god we can survive we are not able to survive without your word the word of god is alive onto our feet and light up your path and so god we are depending upon you for the word bless your hearts we pray help us to die just the word help us my god to take the word with us holy father and help us god that your word will abide in us and that as we go along from during the course of the week your word my god will keep us what can keep us daily from sin nothing but the word of god so we are praying for your anointing no in his song and spoken word that you will have known to your preachers your nineteen daughters and ninety seven holy god that your word will go forth in this medium in jesus name in jesus name in jesus down and glory fill our soul good morning brothers and sisters thank you for coming and celebrating with us this morning and those of you my brothers and sisters in virtual space i want to welcome you as you honor and glorify the name of jesus christ because we believe that he is the king of kings and the lord of lords we had some technical difficulties this morning so some of the services you would have missed we have having been having a wonderful time in the presence of the lord but i'm sure that you're unknown and i just invite you to invite your friend it's a very important part of the message and we want the word of the lord to go out and so therefore brothers and sisters just have your seat if you can and just open your bibles those in virtual space if you can just pull your bible beside you also and let us examine the words of almighty god for he is the king of kings and the lord of lord it is so wonderful to see my brothers and sisters sister taylor sister um stewart were away for a number of time but you're back in the house and it's really good to have you there some of you weren't here last week and i was here but you were out there but it's good to meet you face to face and to just smile with you again it is indeed a blessing from the lord and those in virtual space who are joining us for the first time and those who will be watching this broadcast after we are really happy that you could join us and to worship with us and we continue to pray your strength that you will indeed endure and overcome in this difficult unprecedented time we continue in the gospel of john and we continue to labor and to press to to persevere rather in our theme for this year forward together with discipline courage and hope forward together with discipline courage and hope and therefore we want to be focusing on the aspect of discipline as we go forward together as a church and as a people so the scripture was read already but i just want to for emphasis read just another couple of verses just to re-emphasize saint john chapter 10 from verse 25 to 31 or to 30. hear what the evangelist john had to say about jesus jesus answered them i told you and you do not believe the works that i do in my father's name they are weaknesses of me but you do not believe because you are not of my sheep as i said to you verse 27 my sheep hear my voice i know them and they follow me and i give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand my father who has given them to me is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of my father's hand i and my father are one i don't know these are just powerful powerful words hallelujah if you believe just lift your hand and glorify the mighty name of jesus ah just give god another shout of praise ah just lift up the name of jesus another time ah if you can just praise the name of the king of kings i know those of you who are in virtual space this morning could you get radical could you get courageous could you discipline yourself could you with hope just stand in your room whether you're in your living room or your kitchen or in the on the veranda or in your bedroom whether you're driving in a car if you're in the building right now i want you to stand up on your feet just for a moment and i want you to lift up holy hands hallelujah you are not afraid of the gospel of jesus you are not ashamed of the gospel of jesus just give him a shout of praise and so jesus we glorify you from this church blackwood's new testament we lift up your name hallelujah we shall back you this day we absorb your mighty name we thank you for you are the good shepherd we thank you because you are the door we thank you because you are the bread of life we thank you for the holy spirit we thank you for salvation we thank you for deliverance we thank you for our security in you we thank you that nobody can snatch us out of your hand we give you praise i don't know i'm just sent in the presence of the lord i don't care what is happening around you i mean the covid is going on real bad but we want to declare that there is a savior with jesus we want to declare that we will not sit down and wait until covet pass by we are going forward together we are going with discipline and courage and we have a lively hope that is in jesus christ oh lord somebody praise him [Music] you can be see that i i'm just excited i'm just excited about the goodness of god to me oh hallelujah i'm sensing the presence of the lord i'm sensing the presence of the lord oh hallelujah oh hallelujah glory to the mighty name of jesus let me engage you let me engage you in the text that i've read and let us engage ourselves as we listen to the lord and we are going to be speaking about the disciplined sheep the disciplined sheep and the question that i want to ask yourself am i one the disciplined sheep i had to serve that question am i one those in virtual space ask yourself that question am i one of the disciplined sheep isn't it interesting to know that persons who usually get the greatest joy out of their career their job their relationships are those who are usually disciplined and those who have disciplined themselves to the process progressing in on their career choice uh even when it's difficult and hard they're studying and pushing and pressing and persevering uh isn't it true that if you're gonna be getting the greatest fulfillment out of your job and out of your marital relationship there's a time that you need to press and push and persevere and say like paul i press to the mark it takes discipline this discipline means that you and i have to train ourselves to practice some things that we don't necessarily feel like practicing and necessarily want to practice but if you are going to have the greatest fulfillment you've got to discipline yourself to practice the right thing regardless of how you feel regardless of what you even think once you know that it is right you discipline yourself to practice it but you not only discipline yourself to practice it you discipline yourselves also to deny yourselves from some seemingly funful and pleasurable things hallelujah so this discipline that you and i need to have is not only to practice things that are right but doesn't feel good to do but it is also to avoid some things that are wrong and feels good to do that is the kind of discipline hallelujah my brothers and sisters that you and i need if we are going to go forward with hope and courage and discipline hallelujah the same is true for the believer and also for the disciplined sheep our texts today therefore provides some hints and that can help us to know if we are a disciplined sheep and if we are not it then provides us with some nice little nuggets to help us to follow so that we can become a disciplined sheep ah when you look at the text of saint john chapter 10 you'll realize that jesus paints a clear picture of the joy and the benefits of a disciplined sheep jesus pains a picture of the security and and and the love and the protection that the sheep of his has he what jesus says my sheep know my voice i know them they follow me i give unto them eternal life somebody say eternal somebody say eternal ah those in virtual space type in eternal i give unto them eternal life and if you did not get that he said and they shall never perish somebody say never somebody say never these are some benefits of the disciplineship i don't know about you but sometimes your little miner would want to confuse you and want you to be afraid and want you to think that you might drop out of the race but jesus says those are my sheep when you come to me as my sheep he says i give unto you eternal life you shall never perish i take the word of jesus very serious hallelujah hallelujah and therefore brothers and sisters in order for you and i to live in that kind of benefit and joy then we need to practice and ensure that we are a part of the disciplined sheep hallelujah for when you are a part of the discipline sheep you can jump on plants you can say to the devil and that you can't get me for jesus has me hear what the text says hear what the text says that's the first thing about the discipline sheep first little nugget first little hint that jesus gives verse 14 of the text i am the good shepherd i know my sheep somebody said no k-n-o-w i know my sheep hallelujah and i am known by my sheep you see the relationship i know my sheep but i am also known by my sheep hallelujah i i just feel good in the lord hear what he says and then he says my father knows me even so i know my father i wonder watch what jesus is saying there's a link between him jesus and the father and that same link is between us the sheep and jesus the shepherd hallelujah there's a there's a knowing unknown sometimes you know some people and when you go to them for favor them look at you and said i do not know you but you know them and you feel that because you know them they are going to give you certain things but they look at you and say but i don't know you but jesus says when it comes to the discipline sheep it's a two-way connection i know them and they know me oh my god i love this hallelujah hear what jesus says the first hint about the discipline sheep if you want to know if you're the disciplined sheep one of the first hint the disciplined sheep stays in the presence of the shepherd what did i say the disciplined sheep stays in the presence lord jesus of the shepherd who is jesus christ here jesus clearly says my sheep now let they say dear sheep my pronoun my sheep it such as what ownership jesus says i own you jesus says i know you jesus says you are mine somebody lift your hand and praise the lord give god up shout out praise the man i know you i have a stamp of approval upon you i have sealed you with the holy ghost i you are mine jesus uses that terminology that they will understand because in those days and even now we are understanding it well because when the farmers know everybody is making sure that they brand them sheep they put a mark on their sheep to ensure that wherever that sheep is they will know it's theirs wherever that animal is they will know some used to put a mark on their ears some put a branch on their rear end but they have a mark jesus says my sheep as a mark i know them that's why the apostle paul says i have the mark of christ i have the what the mark of christ within me every disciplined sheep has a mark of christ within you for you're in the presence of the lord and guess what satan know that you have the mark he knows that you are mark with that price for you are in a relationship you still in the presence hallelujah of the shepherd here we are seeing that there's a stress on ownership of the sheep knowledge of the sheep and intimacy of the relationship this shows that here is a loving a caring a protective relationship with the shepherd hallelujah i said there's a what loving and caring and protective relationship you have with your shepherd with jesus satan sometimes don't want you to embrace this truth hallelujah he wants you to run out of the presence of the lord but i want you to know that you are a sheep all of this shows that the sheep dwells in the presence of the shepherd if you are going to be having a caring loving protective relationship with your sin that means that you must know him well you must be in his presence you must be able to recognize his voice you must be able to understand his mission his values his intention you are having a relationship and to have a relationship you have to be close haven't you realized that most of the relationship that people are trying to have in they are the long distance relationship don't you realize that those normally can't survive the long-distance relationship in sister briscoe it's difficult to survive there's too much train and the relationship it's only a video card and a whatsapp and a phone call but you cannot have that kind of bond and that kind of fellowship and it doesn't matter how much you call and the food there's a longing for this closeness views are longing for this intimacy feel the longing for this touch and know and feel part of the relationship jesus says my sheep they stay in my presence hallelujah hallelujah and it will take time to know jesus and that's why the long-distance relationship they're under pressure for it takes time to know the person to sit down and know the heart of the person and understand the thinking of the person and the philosophy of the person it will take time to know jesus your shepherd hallelujah hallelujah and that's why when the shepherd and his sheep they're in each other's presence the shepherd just roped the sheep with some olive oil because there's in those days they used to have some flies that fly around the sheep and when the sheep is feeding the flies are just buttering the sheep and every minute the sheep have to get up and get some nice food but the flies coming around and the sheep have to move and the sheep have to move but when the shepherd sees that he calls his sheep he pulls out his olive oil he anoints the sheep and just rub the sheephead with the oil and when the sheep is feeding them no more fire can fly around and this lord god and disturb the sheep so the sheep is taken care of that's why david says he anoints my head with oil my cup [Applause] run it over hallelujah surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and hear what he says and i will dwell somebody to do it i will abide i will stay in the presence of the lord all the days not someday but all the days of my life to be in the presence of the lord is not a one-night stand somebody said not a one-night stand it's not a one-night stand it's not a room florence supply within when i run out you run in you must abide you must stay there you must be there you must wait and you must stay in the presence of the lord hallelujah hallelujah jesus jesus wants to develop a personal knowledge of him and that's why you have to stay in his presence do you remember in the gospel when the disciples were going over with jesus and jesus says to them let's go over to the other side of the lake and sister stewart as they went into the boat and they went over the bible says there was a great swallow and serious storm that comes on the sea and jesus was lying in the bottom relaxing having work hard day was no resting the bible says the disciples tried all that they could and the more they tried is the more the boat was swamped hallelujah and when they felt that their life was now in danger somebody went down into the middle of the boat wake up jesus and said master don't you care that we are perishing the master woke up and looked at his sheep and said peace be still the wind and the wave obey his voice when they saw it the bible said they looked at each other and said what manner of man is this that even the wind and the waves obey him i don't care how much storm is blowing in your life i don't care how much the waves are blowing in your life i am here to tell you once you're in the presence of the master you will calm your sea financial crisis be still heart righteous be still sickness unto jesus be still for the master is here [Music] isn't it interesting isn't it interesting brother adrian that they said to each other what manner of man is this question why did they wake him up why would they wake him up they woke him up because they want him to help them no he perform an extraordinary miracle and they're saying oh this they never knew that he could do that i'm wondering why did they really wake him up to do what to do what to help build up the water to help the water help most lord to get out the water but when you're in the presence of the shepherd he will give you a deeper experience of himself he knows that he is powerful he's saying i'm not helping you to peel out the water i'm commanding water to be stale i want to encourage somebody stay in the presence of the lord for you are safe in his presence glory glory glory glory glory glory watch this if you run away from the presence of the shepherd you become fooled for the prayer dr evan says that if you run away from the presence of the shepherd you become what food for the prayer see it and it's waiting on some people to just jump out at the present of the shepherd because he's hungry the bible says is like a ruin lion walked about seeking who he may devour but i'm here to tell some of my brothers and sisters you feel like you're on backslide you feel like you're tired of this you feel like you can't go anymore i am here to give you a warning stay in the presence of the lord but that's where your deliverance is that's where your power is that's where victory is [Music] hallelujah glory the psalmist knew that the psalmist knew that so in psalm 84 and verse 10 hear what the psalmist says better is one day in the courts of the lord than a thousand days elsewhere better is one day in the presence of the lord than a thousand days hence we'll hear what he says i'd rather be a door keeper i'd rather be an osha i'd rather be an usher in the house of the lord than to stand in the gates of wickedness here what david says in psalm 27 4 one thing of i desire of the lord and what will i seek after [Music] somebody said david what's that one thing here it says that i may dwell in the presence of the lord can i get some person in backwards to say one thing that i desire of the lord and that will i seek after that i may dwell [Music] i'm gonna stay stay stay in your presence almighty father hallelujah hallelujah the waves are boxing but i'm staying in the boat the winds are blowing but i'm abiding in the rock for he's my strength [Music] hallelujah hallelujah in other words god's presence is better than anywhere else because out of god's presence you're like fish out of water out of god's presence you're like living without oxygen i'll let those who are suffering from the breathing problem tell you that when they are going out of oxygen they start to gap when you come out of the presence of the lord you start to gap you're getting out of breath you can't survive if you put the fish out of the water it can flop a few times but if you leave it long enough it will die can i talk to you there might be some backsliders who are flapping out there am i talking to somebody there might be some backsliders who are flopping out there it seems like you're surviving but if you stay long enough you will perish but i encourage you this morning come back come back in the presence of the lord there is joy in the presence there is peace in the presence there is fullness in the presence of the lord come back to home for its better home [Music] somebody lift your hand and praise the lord somebody lift your hand and praise the lord if you think i'm lying ask the practical son when he went out there and he thought that he was surviving but all of a sudden his life started to move away from him he said i will arise and go back to my father and i will say of my father i'm coming home i'm not worthy but i'm coming home i've done wrong but i'm coming home i don't care what you have done i don't care what you have said come home it's better home for in the presence of the lord there's fullness of joy so the the the disciplined sheep will stay in the presence regardless of the many voices that are crying and making noise calling for its attention it will stay in the presence there are many voices calling for our attention you know hear me some voices of fear calling for your attention voices of lack of money calling for your attention voices of i don't know what will happen tomorrow cause then for your attention but still in the present hallelujah i'm talking to somebody you know stay in the presence and wait upon the lord and be of good courage for he shall sustain you and he shall give you the desire of your heart hallelujah time is running out let me run on the second thing about the disciplined sheep the second hint is not only will the sheep stay in the presence of the shepherd who is jesus but the sheep will stay away from false pleasure remember i said discipline is doing what is right even when you don't feel like it but it is also avoiding what is wrong even though you feel like it can i talk to somebody so the disciplined shepherd is the one that will stay away from false pleasure hallelujah hear what jesus says in verse 10 of john 10 he says the thief comment but for to steal to kill and to destroy then he said but i am come that they might have life real life an abundant life and life to fool in saint john 28 he says i give unto them eternal life the word eternal and the word abundant life is what real pleasure is all about real pleasure hallelujah is all about life in the presence of the almighty god i hear jesus are clearly shown that the reality is that some of us are misinformed about the idea of pleasure and some of us are bought into the world's philosophy of pleasure talk about the discipline sheet now when you're the disciplined sheep you can't buy into the philosophy of the world's idea of pleasure what do i mean by that pastor let me quickly explain that there are two types of pleasure there is true pleasure and there is false pleasure how do you know that let me quickly help you to understand hallelujah what then is true pleasure give me let me give you the definition this is anything that refreshes you without distracting you from the will of god i want to say that again what is true pleasure because we can't allow the world to teach us the world doesn't understand and their knowledge is deadly true pleasure is what refreshes you but at the same time does not distract you from the will of almighty god for your life true pleasure will refresh you but will not turn you away from the purpose of almighty god in your life take that definition let it sink in you hallelujah therefore i further propose and declare to you that no matter how good you feel once it destroys the sacredness of your body or the sacredness of the body of another once it distorts your reality which will ultimately lead you away from jesus it is and must not be classified as true pleasure it must be classified as false pleasure in other words it's a deception it's a trick that satan wants to use to cover up your eye so that he can have you for me and have you to destroy you and have you to steal your joy and have you to steal your peace and have you to steal your eternal life but the disciplined sheep will stay away from false jesus pleasure disciplined sheep understand this sister briscoe and ensure that it stays in the presence of the lord and false pleasure that the devil is showing at it it will look at it and cut it i hallelujah if you want to understand what i was saying about false pleasure check many brave bible men ask people like samson and samson will agree and said yes pastor edwards you're right for i went after false pleasure and delilah caused me to lose my sight they tied me up as a donkey and i end up losing my life in the process it's a false pleasure talking to some of my unsafe friends don't let the enemy tie up in false pleasure that gives you a short amount of good feeling but long eternity in hell ask david a man of god's own heart he will tell you it cost me continuous family feud in my household my daughter was raped by my son and my other son killed my son and my house was in problem for i had broken the command of god and sought to satisfy my own self and the consequences his family feud family feud i don't want to walk back that road again ask david axe his son solomon axe's son solomon when he was reached and filled with wisdom but because of pleasure he decided that he want to search it out for himself and when he's treated from the presence of god and one thousand women pull him away from the presence of his shepherd he wrote in ecclesiastes chapter one vanity affinity and fixation of spirit all his validity somebody said all is vanity all is vanity it feels good for the moment but the end is vanity it is like bitter girl wrapped up in sugar bowl it tastes nice but when it bursts it's bitter truth is all pleasure is bought at the price of pain all pleasure is bought at a price of pain why am i telling you this because if you don't understand this you will fall for false pleasure i don't want you to be falling for false pleasure there is a real pleasure hallelujah [Music] so hear what good pleasure comes from hear what so i said what all pleasure must be bought at the cost of what pain good pleasure is the pain comes first in good pleasure you have to feel the pain first then you enjoy let me give you an illustration those who want to excel educationally i have to feel the pain of discipline and studying and beating the midnight oil burning the midnight oil and as they their friends are enjoying partying and having a nice time they will discipline themselves the athlete who want to reach the top while the others are running up and down and having a party and putting drug in their body they have to discipline what they watch what they eat when they train and what is going into their body it is a cost and it is causing them pain but when they get on the field and start to participate that lasting gold medal is going to be something that they can't take away from them hallelujah [Applause] get in the picture get in the picture so don't be deceived i'm helping somebody right now i'm helping somebody right now hear what jesus says the master shepherd in luke 9 and verse 23 he says if any man would come after me let him what deny deny himself take up his cross and follow me that look like pain don't it of course it's pain but it's the pain that comes before the pleasure it is the price of the pleasure that you shall receive for when you discipline yourself and deny yourself the joy will be unspeakable and full of glory jesus hallelujah hallelujah and therefore false pleasure pain come last in false pleasure pleasure come first and the pain comes last so watch this that's why satan is so deceptive he's dangling false pleasure before your eyes right now he shows you what you can have he shows your fame he shows your fortune he shows you riches he shows you how you can become big bull dangerous happy right now he says satisfy that sexual ego right now satisfy that entertainment satisfy that desire right now because this one life you live life mattel you have another life to live for after death comes the judgment and you shall appear before god false pleasure hedonism false pleasure hallelujah these kinds of philosophies that are coming in our days false prejudice you have only one life to live and you better leave it upon earth it's like they may tell you for after earth there is an eternal life or eternal damnation notice the bible don't call it life it says eternal damnation for life is pleasure but damnation is condemnation and punishment and pain so the believers enter into eternal life pleasure but the unsaved enter into eternal damnation not pleasure so you're existing so life don't mean you're existing existence different everybody existing but some living life who find the shepherd present hallelujah that's why it's satan tried tried it with jesus hear what he says in central matter 12 i said mata for radha he dangled the world before jesus and said all these things will i give you right now will i give you right now if you just bow down and worship me false pleasure but jesus picked it up and said get thee behind me satan for it is written you shall worship the lord your god and him only out sir somebody needs to tell satan get me behind me i want you to type in right now get me behind me satan i want you to tell somebody when they're enticing you into sinful things tell them get thee behind me satan i will not be deceived by false pleasure for god must be saved and i'm keeping my discipline hallelujah for i am looking for a city whose builder and ruler is god so the sheep who is disciplined not only stays in the presence but he also stays away from false pleasure and finally the sheep who is disciplined he submits to the shepherd's power he submits to the shepherds poe i was smiling when i heard sisters say what praying i said lord help us to submit yes i said lord yes that's what the disciplined shepherd does the disciplined shepherd submits to the father and the disciplined sheep submits to the what shepherd hallelujah here verse 27 and 28 of the texas it says my sheep hear my voice they follow for you to hear and follow me that you're submitting it mean you're obedient don't it it means that you come under authority you are saying i am under the authority of the one who calls me i am under the authority of the one who leads me i am under the authority of the one who is guiding me he's at the front of leading and i am submitting i am giving myself to the instruction of almighty god and it will take discipline it calls for total obedience this is not selective obedience ah the shepherd who is not disciplined we obey when it suit us but when it get tough on us to deny ourselves we say no this is not what i come in church for this is not what i joined the race for but that the discipline shepherd says like peter to whom shall we go when thou alone has the word of eternal life this is illustrated by jesus christ in the garden of gethsemane when he prayed if it is possible let this cup pass for me but then he said nevertheless not as i will but as your will be done walk to that place the sheep who knows their voice will listen to their shepherd and start to follow watch this i can imagine that as the sheep follows there are times the shepherd is leading the sheep i to some nice little green part and there's some rocky road and something might be coming down hallelujah and the shepherd might the sheep might look over and see some green grass over this uh hallelujah and all the sheep he's there wondering why mr shepard now see that you know see that in a city the grass green winelessly why am i coming so far why is it it's carrying me he's carrying me so far can i not stay here and feast because the grass look green on that side but if it's a disciplined sheep it will continue to follow the shepherd ignore the grass on the right and on the left and said i believe that my shepherd is leading me to the right pasture like that look green but i don't know if there's danger there that look nice but i don't know how many serpents are there but i'm following my shepherd to the place where he will lead me to feed and to lie down in green pastures [Music] follow your shepherd follow your
