Black piggie the guinea pig came to us for help with a large sebaceous cyst

it feels very very soft and the fact that it's growing very quickly at the moment indicates um that it will come away relatively easily it's very very tight and freezing cold which is great so I'm just going to quickly announce that hi everyone I'm Lynn from cavi Central Guinea Pig Rescue hi everyone we've got black pig here today now blackpink has a sebaceous cyst which I'm just going to show you here at the back of her which is growing in size and the problem with it growing in size is that they can get very very large so you can actually deal with them very easily if the guinea pig has already started to nip at and remove here because it's tightening around the skin area so what we're going to do is shave this section back let's do that quickly [Music] thank you [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] we're just keeping a wide margin so that I don't have that area clear for when we check what's going on so that piggy will get you to sit there I'm just going to pop some gloves on and uh actually before I put gloves on how about we just make that area quite numb um we're just going to Lance the top surface of it so we're going to make it numb with this well that's happening let me just pop some gloves on excuse me it's gonna be a messy business [Music] it feels very very soft and the fact that it's growing very quickly at the moment indicates um that it will come away relatively easily it's very very tight and freezing cold which is great so I'm just going to quickly announce that and with all sebaceous cyst material you can see there's almost a clear liquid coming out there it tends to be very had keratin based and that's coming up very very easily you can tell how quickly it's growing because it's still quite soft and icky I'm gonna put that down there for a minute but clearing this out now very simply enables it to heal being a sebaceous system unless the cell wall actually comes away which most times we can get that away but if it doesn't it has the ability to to then restart but what we can do is clear it out now sort it out you can see she hasn't even made one squeak it's very very and it's of course look at the loose skin that's around there that will soon seal right back down and not be an issue we're going to flush it with what we call Deborah Zona de Brazil is different to Betadine and I totally recommend it because debrazole removes necrotic skin cells and the wall of the the sebaceous cyst often consists of narcotic skin cells so by using it and flushing it with debrisol which we have here in through this little hole I'm just going to fill it wow let me take this off and swish it out clean it out for any additional loose skin cells that's it and this is going to heal beautifully absolutely beautifully we may find there's a little bit of residual build up but hopefully hopefully not that's a really very neat neat neatly dealt uh sebaceous cyst now that little hole that so you can almost not see it because it's automatically joining because it's so big we just need to make sure that this stays clear of any debris you can see why we've shaved back the area so that we can see if anything builds up in there again so I'm just going to continue to squeeze that she has not felt any of it which is brilliant that's exactly what we want so easily treated so easily treated and a lot of vets would actually say that an anesthetic is actually recommended and you can see oh sweetheart we should get you some nice food to chew on now but it hasn't affected her in any way it's been very quick and easy and we don't have the issues with gut stasis and anesthetic that can mess up with their entire system so take care everyone and uh I'll be back soon bye for now [Music] [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music]
