Good day to all of you. In this video, I will teach you how to make a sweet chilled beverage, black gulaman (sweet grass jelly drink). And I will also teach you the delicious fragrance of this cold drink. This can be served as a snack, for celebrations, and most of all, for business. I will also teach you how to do the costing for us to know our capital for each glass, and how much will we earn because many are selling cold drinks but they don't know how much is their capital for each glass. So I will teach it here. Just watch until the end because I will also teach here how you can make this your business. So if you are interested in this video, join me as I make a sweet cold drink, Black Gulaman (sweet grass jelly drink). Tipid Tips Atbp Black Gulaman (Sweet Grass Jelly Drink) Ingredients for Sweet Chilled Beverage Black Gulaman (Sweet Grass Jelly Drink) We will use 1 kilogram of brown sugar. 1 pack of black gulaman (black gelatin). I will also use agar-agar (gelatin Powder) so that the gelatin will harden. Later, in the end, I will tell you what agar-agar is for and where you can buy it since many are asking. We will also use 2 liters of water. And most of all, the banana essence. We will now cook the syrup and the black gulaman (gelatin). We will cook it at the same time. Let's put in the 1 kilogram of brown sugar. Let us now put in 1 liter of water. This is also 1 liter of water. Let us also put in the gelatin. 1 teaspoon of agar-agar. Then let's stir it. We will now bring these in our stove. Now we will cook. We will just wait for this syrup to boil. Same for this gulaman (gelatin) When it is already boiling and there are no more lumps, that is okay already. So we will just cook this for a while. This black gulaman (gelatin), you can add sugar in it or not, just like this one I made. Because we only need a few gulaman (gelatin) in one glass of cold drink. Since the cold drink is already sweet, so I am not putting sugar in the gulaman (gelatin). The syrup is already boiling well and we will now turn off the fire. We will just wait for that to cool down. And this black gulaman (gelatin), this has boiled-well as well. This is cooked as well. And we will now bring this in the molder. Let us just wait for the syrup to cool down and this black gulaman. We will return later. The black gulaman (gelatin) has cooled down already. We will now slice this in cubes. Or you can also grate this. That depends on you. Let us slice it now. I washed my hands. This is the difference when it has agar-agar. It is harder and firm. Even if you do this, it won't break. That's how firm it is. Even if you use 2 liters of water, just add agar-agar, the gulaman (gelatin) you will make will still be firm. I have a previous video of the mango jelly where I used agar-agar. Many are askin. This is the packaging. The brand name is Don Frank. This is the manufacturer of this agar-agar. It is a powdered gulaman (gelatin) as well. It is quite different compared to the other gulaman (gelatin). This is the only gulaman (gelatin) that is clear, firm, delicious, inexpensive, hard, and last long enough. So this gulaman (gelatin) is nice. That's why when I used to sell mango jelly before, and this black gulaman (gelatin), I am really using this Because with ¼ of this, you can use it in many recipes. You can buy this at the market, bakery supplies store, and you can also find this online. Just a disclaimer. This is not a paid promotion. It is just that many are asking me about this so I included it again in the video. In the mango jelly, I mentioned this in that video. Maybe, some didn't finish it until the end that is why they were not able to watch it. So now I repeated it again. Okay, we are now done slicing this into small cubes. Let us transfer it in a tumbler. The next thing that we will do is the syrup. This is the syrup we cooked. I transferred it in a liter of pitcher and a 500-mL pitcher so that we can measure properly the amount, in liters, of the syrup we cook. Let us put it in a clean tumbler. We need a clean muslin cloth because we will filter the syrup since the brown sugar has some dirt. If you will not filter it, there will be black substrates floating in your cold drink. That is why you will filter the syrup made from sugar. The next thing that we will do is I will teach you how you can sell it. Now, we will start. For example, we are already in front of our house, or our garage. This is the table that we will use for selling. And the things we need should be in front of us already so that we will not run around when someone buys. The gulaman (gelatin) is here, the syrup made from sugar, the cups that we will use, and this water container. It is advisable for you to use a water jug because the cold temperature lasts long in a water jug. You will save the cost from ice. The one I am mentioning earlier, the delicious fragrance in our cold drink. It is this one. The banana essence. Banana essence, okay? Not banana flavor. Those two are different. We will just add a drop of this in the syrup made from sugar. You will only put a little drop of this because if you overdo it, your cold drink will taste bitter. So just put some drop of this then taste it whether it is okay already. I will use ⅛ teaspoon. Then stir it. It smells good. I will put a little bit more. So we were able to put ¼ teaspoon of banana essence. After putting it, stir it very well. We will now put ice here in our jug. But if you will make this your business, it is better if you will be the one making the ice so that you are sure that the ice you will use is made of mineral water. All the things that we will use are ready. I have 12 ounces of cups here. Now we will do a sample. For example, someone is buying from you already. The important thing is you should know the amount of syrup you will put here. But I measured this I will place 45 mL here. 1 tablespoon is equivalent to 15 mL. I will put 3 tablespoons. When I used to sell this before, I have a ladle in that size. But I left it at the other house. That's why I can't show it to you. It also looks like this but it is much smaller. 1 scoop from that is enough for this 1 cup already. I found that in the market. I bought that in a store that sells pots. It looks almost the same like this. It can be hung. Then it is quite smaller than this. Since this is larger, I will not use this. I just showed it to you. We will use this 1 tablespoon. Let us put 3 tablespoons. Let's tilt this a bit since it is deep. 1 2 We will now put 1 tablespoon of gulaman (gelatin). The next thing that we will put is water. There is your black gulaman (sweet grass jelly drink). We will now taste our cold drink. This cold drink clenches thirst especially when it is very cold. So it is more advisable if you will sell this, you will make your own ice. What makes this delicious is this banana essence. This is the secret in this cold drink. The next thing that we will do is its costing, on how much can we really earn from this. Since we will not serve all of this for the costing, I will teach you the right way on how to do the costing of this. If you remember earlier, we were able to make 1.5 liters of syrup after we cooked. Let's start with the syrup. 1 kilogram of brown sugar, 44 pesos. The banana essence, let's estimate it at 1 peso since we only put a little amount. Let's also add the gas expense when we cooked it for a short while. Let's also include the water even though we only used a small amount. Let us also include the labor for cooking it for a short while. Let's estimate it at 30 pesos. So our total capital is 75 pesos. In our 75 pesos capital for the syrup, we were able to make 1.5 liters. Let's divide it by the one tablespoon that we used for measuring. This is 15 mL. 1,500 mL. We will divide that by 15 mL which we used for measuring. The result of that is 100. For us to know our capital per tablespoon, our capital of 75 pesos, we will divide it by 100. That will result in 0.75 centavos capital for each tablespoon. Now we know our capital for the syrup for each tablespoon. We will now proceed with the gulaman (gelatin). Let's start computing our capital for the gulaman (gelatin). 1 sachet of gulaman (gelatin), 13 pesos. Agar-agar, 2 pesos. Let us also include gas, for cooking it for a short while, water, and labor. Let us just estimate it at 30 pesos. So the total capital for the gulaman (gelatin) is 45 pesos. If you can remember earlier, we dissolved the gulaman (gelatin) with 1 liter or 1,000 mL of water. Our 1,000 mL of water, let's divide it by 15 mL. We can get 66 tablespoons from this if you will put 1 tablespoon in each cup. For us to know our capital per tablespoon of gulaman (gelatin), our capital of 45 pesos, let's divide it by 66 tablespoons. That will result to 0.68 centavos capital for each tablespoon of gulaman (gelatin). Let us now compute the mineral water that we will use in our cold drink. This is what we usually buy nowadays. If it is not this gallon with the faucet, it is this spherical one that we use. The volume of that is 5 gallons. 5 gallons is equivalent to 19 liters. Now, since we know the price of this mineral water, there is 25 pesos or 30 pesos, But I will estimate it at 30 pesos. Let us divide 30 pesos by 19 liters. That will result to 1.57 pesos will be the price per liter. The water is very cheap because 1 liter costs 1.50 pesos only. That is mineral water already and not tap water. So if you will sell cold drinks, you should use mineral water. Now we know. Even if we price the water for 2 pesos in each cup, that is more than enough already. We are now done computing for the capital of the syrup, the gulaman (gelatin), and we already calculated the capital for the water. Now we will compute for the capital of each cup of cold drink. I will show you again the way we will scoop and we will do the computation at the same time. Let us start with 3 tablespoons of syrup. Our capital for 3 tablespoons of syrup is 2.25 pesos because each tablespoon costs 0.75 centavos. And now, we will put 1 tablespoon of gulaman (gelatin). Our capital for each tablespoon of gulaman (gelatin) is 0.68 centavos. Let us now put 2 pesos of water which we estimated more than enough. So our capital for this cold drink is 4.93 pesos. Now, I will add the expense for the cup but it still depends on the cup that you will be using. Of course, it is better if you will use a paper cup so that we will not produce more waste. Since this is what we used, we will estimate this at 50 centavos. So the total capital for this is 5.43 pesos. This is commonly priced at 10 pesos. Let's deduct our capital of 5.43 pesos. We will still earn 4.57 pesos. Let's just say that it is 4.50 pesos so that it is easy to compute. For example, you are able to sell 100 cups in one day. We will earn 450 pesos. Your capital is reduced from that already. That is all your earnings already. For example, you are able to do that every day, the 450 pesos earning, let's multiply it by 30 days. In one month, you will earn 13,500 pesos. Your expenses are already deducted from that. Labor and gas are already deducted. The 13,500 pesos is all your income. As long as the things that you will need, such as this gulaman (gelatine), place it in the refrigerator if it will not be finished, this syrup, place it in the refrigerator if it will not be finished, so that ants won't infest it, because once there are ants already, you cannot use it anymore, and this water, you can make it ice so on the next day, you can still use it. As long as you will be neat with your materials and things, you will not waste any of your product because nothing will spoil here. So on the next day, you can still sell it. Now someone might ask, "How will I sell 100 pieces in one day?" For example, in our previous videos, if you will include selling this with our previous videos of peach mango pie, donut, empanada , turon (banana spring rolls), camote cue (camote fritter), lumpiang togue (mung bean sprouts spring rolls). We still have a lot of products where we can partner this when your customers will be thirsty. For sure, they will buy a cold drink as well. Just like myself. When I eat snacks outside, I buy cold drinks even though I am only eating kwek-kwek (hard-boiled quail eggs in orange batter), I buy 2 or 3 glasses of this I tend to be thirsty. You will surely earn a lot from here if you will combine our business ideas. As long as you will include hard work, perseverance and some strategy, you will surely earn.
