[Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] welcome to lead we're all linked together from all generations to propagate the gospel around the world aren't we glad to be a part of a destiny changing meeting [Applause] 45 Nations 45 states 41 general board members 3025 ministers registered 137 global missionaries 117 named missionaries 237 evangelist 850 senior pastors 273 pk's 45 MKS 87 Wonderland 434 87 that's gathered here tonight aren't we happy about that [Music] we're here to surrender to one another there that white handkerchief all material that you've Airy much we're here to give up to one another when you look at the Wolfpack they ran in packs a whoops innate strategy for hunting or based on group organization they live in groupings or communities they take care of each other they depend on each other if the pack that makes the individual members strong and successful when you hear about the lone wolf it's when the younger whoops sometimes will challenge the alpha wolf the alpha wolf wins and that younger wolf would go off into the prairies of the mountains tonight the younger wolf died the older wolf the Alpha would would go off into the woods in the mountains to die we have no time for long wolves Wolf's communicate and collaborate and share knowledge across generation the older wolves are more experienced hunters they share hunting strategies and techniques for the younger wolves they passed down knowledge from one generation of woofing to the next maintaining a culture you for the youth for the Wolfpack the last one that you will see on this picture is quite an interesting story when you look at the wolf pack they are a group of wolf's this was taken by the BBC company and they are a group of wolves and the last one is the one that is always looking out for the rest of the pie he serves he serves as the bodyguard to the entire group and just in case anyone was really wanting to know what it means to be a leader it's not about being out front it means taking care of the team so we're here to surrender to one another so you can take your white handkerchief cuz we're gonna be doing it at many time you can take your white handkerchief and you can start waving it and that is your sign of surrender this white handkerchief not only means that you surrender to God but it means I surrender my brother I surrender to my family I surrender Dre God hallelujah hallelujah now God be with us in this place we ask for there to be a tremendous anointing for the next three nights in two days rest upon this conference hey going to do at a PK gym is my brother-in-law and Micky started seven our chemical dependency group here because of Trey and Jimmy and Jelena opened their heart and I remember one line who said y'all celebrate with your children's been missionaries he said we celebrate if my son is sober for 24 hours that was such a moving line to me me when old Trey asked him said how did it go he said well try you just watch the DVD and he played the DVD for Trey and at that moment trade made up in his mind he's gonna make his life change and they're training his dad Trey has been sober for 11 months [Applause] tre had been sober for lemon that's what God can do in this conference that's what God is gonna do in this conference that's what God is gonna do in this conference [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] let's call the name of Jesus Jesus but we worship You Jesus we glorify your name hallelujah this power in the name of Jesus there's deliverance in the name of Jesus hallelujah bless the name of Jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah praise the Lord praise the Lord you may be seated it's a privilege to be here tonight I certainly want to give my appreciation and thanks to pastor Anthony Mangan the Pentecostals of Alexandria because of the times the entire team and I just have a few minutes tonight but I want to express my sincere appreciation because they would not have to involve the organizational leadership in the way they do but I commend them because we understand that leadership is holistic whether you have a position or don't have a position God can use a variety of leaders and God does use a structure if the structure is submitted to the work of the Holy Spirit it's not either/or it's both an and I appreciate that because the x is always exemplified that scriptural principle I'm going to make just a few comments and then I'll preach a short while but I want to share some exciting news I'm I'm speaking of course as the general superintendent of the United Pentecostal church international but the the body of Christ the Apostolic Faith goes far beyond the UPC I so I would not presume to limit the focus just to the UPC I but I will say God is doing some exciting things our general board last September voted that every district would develop a strategic growth plan and likewise our global missions team in every nation we're developing a strategic growth plan what that simply means is we're trying to be more intentional and purposeful we have the power of the Holy Spirit but we've got to be wise in our generation and know how to approach each situation so I'm encouraged and excited about what God is doing I'll briefly mention also with arson college erson Graduate School of Theology because of the times is one of the key components to the existence of this institution back I think it was 2002 we had 90 days to raise the money to keep the school alive and because of the times did that praise God [Applause] as a result we now have an accredit accredited apostolic Pentecostal seminary graduate school with a hundred and three students as of this fall many of our pastors general board members missionaries chaplains are now graduates or alumni of the school some we can't even identify missionaries in places we can't advertise but they're graduates of U GST a chaplain with the Special Forces again we can't really say who and where but a graduate you've made that possible and the nursin College our Christian undergraduate Christian College we just had our site visit in December when they were in the process of accreditation I asked for your prayer because the final decision will be in June of this year and so please pray that we can successfully cross that hurdle in the process I was planning to step down as president as soon as we got that but the site team said no you don't want to make the change during candidacy you need to make the change before so I went ahead and resigned as of January the 15th I'm no longer the president I'm still an ex officio member of the board and of course I'll be advising them and guiding them through the process and eventually we'll get another president who can take over but the administration is in good hands it's going straight forward and and so but we ask for your prayers that we can successfully accomplish that mission I also want to say exciting things are happening I mentioned we're not limited to the UPC I every year I participate in the Apostolic Fellowship summit which is hosted by UGS T the of the seven largest Apostolic or oneness Pentecostal organizations are represented things have been happening behind the scenes and this group decided for the first time ever we're going to have a national Apostolic day a prayer in Washington DC on May the 4th all everybody's invited but everybody on the platform will be apostolic baptized in Jesus name receiving the Holy Ghost and following our guidelines for leadership that we believe are appropriate for apostolic all seven organizations voted that's what we needed to do so if you want to come we'll have information on facebook but it's going to be unprecedented it's going to be exciting I've also been asked to participate in the Wesleyan Holiness connection some might say well why would you go to groups beyond apostolic well I believe we should be a witness and if we have an open door where we can identify who we are and what we believe without compromise we don't go in judgment either we don't go either in compromise or in judgment we go as a witness who knows what God can do and I have some powerful testimonies that I would only be able to share in private of what God has already done but I could tell you about prominent leader in one of these meetings of another large organization who came to me and said I just wanted you to know brother Bernard when I need encouragement when I need inspiration I go and listen to because of the times messages he said I thought you'd want to know that we can have an influence far beyond our borders and if we do only God knows the results but I'm willing to be a witness wherever I can I just wanted you to know that I'm gonna read a text I'm not gonna ask you to stand but first Peter 2:5 says you also and I'm it may be in the King James here I'm gonna read the new King James because of one word there first two-five you also as living stones are being built up a spiritual house a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ and I'm speaking for a few minutes building God's house notice the imagery of stones the Bible likens each one of us to stones a stone represents something that's solid something that has structure something that is stable something that has strength and I believe we individually draw our strength from the Word of God we're not just a house of cards we're not just a house of paper we are structure of stones and that strength comes because we believe the Bible is the infallible inspired in errant Word of God we don't want to add to the word we don't want to take away from the word the reason why we don't follow traditions of the church councils and subsequent centuries is we don't want to be guilty of adding to the word the reason why we preach the first century biblical teachings of us whether it be sexual morality or modesty of dress is because we don't think we have the authority to take away from the word our strength does not come from our ability or our intellect or our education our strength comes from the Word of God without the Word of God we don't have the structure of a stone but notice the King James says lively stones the New King James says living stones wit and the analogy of stones takes us only so far a stone is dead inert it has no life it has no propulsion it has no momentum it can't go forward it just sits there but that's not the Church of the Living God we are living stones we're anointed by the Holy Spirit we believe in revival if we have a church of 10 people so what you can have more revival in a Pentecostal church of 10 people then a church of 200 or 2000 that doesn't have the spirit do not be intimidated do not be discouraged you are a living stone you will have revival you will see people delivered you will see lives change you will see restoration because you are a living stone and our life comes from the spirit it's not either/or it's both an we must have the word and the spirit and then the Bible says we're built up into a spiritual house the Bible compares us to a temple in which praises go forward a spiritual house or a temple you know many people say we're a ministerial fellowship well we are but we're more than that we're actually a church it's not just a group of ministers having fellowship with one another no we're doing something far more serious our mission is the whole gospel to the whole world by the whole church it's not a group of ministers getting together to have fellowship it's the Church of the Living God marching forward I'm not saying that you PCI is the whole church by any means I'm saying we are a vital significant part of be Church of God we're linked to the Church of ages past we're linked to one another and if we're not something's wrong we must have unity think about it a pile of stones have little value one stone sitting in the field has little value but the value of each individual stone comes when it's connected a pile of stones of little or no work can be built into a wall and a wall on a foundation four walls and a roof can be a very significant structure it can provide shelter it can provide safety it can be a fortress those same stones in a pile don't provide anything those same stones within one long wall do no good but put together according to the master architect that group of stones can be a fortress of truth it can be a lighthouse of truth it could be a launching pad for worldwide revival it can provide safety protection security we are to be joined together unity is not an option unity is essential some people say unity means compromise I'm not talking about compromise stop Punk in that way we're solid on the Apostolic doctrine we're solid on the life of holiness we're solid on the gifts of the Spirit we always will be I'm talking about unity with living stones [Applause] unity without compromise but without judgmental ISM what I mean by that is the church does have authority to judge situations but as individuals if you are baptized in Jesus name you receive the Holy Ghost you believe in the one true God you believe the Bible is the Word of God you're endeavoring to live a holy life you're in derry to follow the Holy Spirit I don't want to stand in judgment over you I'm no better than you are I'm not trying to evaluate your ministry I want to link with you then if there's any deficiency I believe in the body it will supply whatever you need without me having to attack you or tear you down I'm not going to compromise but neither am i going to stand in judgment instead I'm gonna link I'm gonna join if I see somebody's falling I'm not gonna stand there and point my finger and to put on social media I saw somebody who felt no I'm gonna reach out a hand and say come on up because tomorrow I might need you to pull me up we're gonna be joined together as living stones building a spiritual temple hallelujah a spiritual temple a holy priesthood we believe in holiness the analogy shifts we're not in the stones of the temple where the people in the temple or the priests in the temple every single one of us preacher or not we can go to God and intercede for our own lives and for our neighbors lives we are spiritual priests in a spiritual temple and our job is to offer sacrifices unto God there's the sacrifice of praise there's the sacrifice of commitment the sacrifice of consecration the sacrifice of service that's our job and I want you to notice something when you go to first Corinthians chapter 3 it talks about the church it talks about his fellow workers in a field it talks about a building it talks about a temple and then there's a well-known verse of scripture or two verses in 1st Corinthians 3:16 through 17 it talks about you are the temple of God and if anyone defiles the temple of God God will destroy that person now many times we think of individually our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and that's true actually chapter 6 says that individually each one of you and I all of us together I am the temple where the Holy Spirit dwells therefore I need to be a good steward of my body and we teach about avoiding things like drugs and alcohol in tobacco and sexual immorality so forth that's all a valid application but the illustration is not merely singular it's also plural and in chapter 3 the emphasis on plural ye that's plural you and the King James in King James II glisten you was plural v was senior we don't have that in modern English we have it in Spanish we haven't French but if I say if I go up to the front row say and say I'd like you to come you don't know if I'm saying I like brother Gleeson to come aren't like the whole row to come so what we do in the south we say I'd like you all to come that's the plural or if you're up north I'm Lauren I'd like you guys to come or sometimes you ins or use or use how about all that that's our way to try to create a plural so the literal translation in Louisiana which i think is paul's preferred because he did say i speak in tongues more than you all he was Vinick hostel and he had a preference for the South but the literal translation is you all are the Temple of the Holy Spirit you guys are the temple of Holy Spirit all y'all are the Temple of the Holy Spirit you ins are the temple of the Holy Spirit so if anyone of you try to disrupt the body if anyone of you trying to tear down the body if anyone of you try to attack the body you're going to be in trouble because God's plan is for us to be linked together God's plan it's us to be joined together Church we have an apostolic heritage going back to the first apostles going back to the early 20th century going back to GA Mangan we have a link we're not isolated and we must be linked horizontally to one another it's not just vertically but horizontally we're part of the church we're part of a temple an individual stone has not much worth sitting out there an individual stone may have a flaw but when it's part of the wall that one flaw doesn't really matter does it because it's part of something bigger than it is building God's house what I'm saying and I'm coming to a close we are linked to an apostolic legacy both from the past and the present we must respect one another in our speech in our conduct the way we treat one another the way we speak on the conference or the way we talk on social media whatever it is there's an awareness that's my brother that's my sister this is my family this is my church just like you would talk about your pastor you should really respect every pastor and you say but but I don't like that pastor why don't you leave that to God why don't you leave that to spiritual authority if he's doing something wrong you can relate to spiritual authority but it's not our job to fix everybody's problem I should respect every Minister like I want to be respected I should respect every pastor like I respect my pastor isn't that scriptural isn't that part of being in the body working together I believe this is a key to a worldwide revival and let me just say this I'll be very brief but as the opposite movement the UPC I we formed in 1945 we've been around 70 years the one is true in about a hundred years were more than just a movement we're here to stay until the Lord comes but of the infancy of the UPC I the 40s and 50s we faced the Lateran which tried to pursue spiritual achievement minimizing doctrinal structure we survived that the 60s and 70s the charismatic movement God was moving in many different groups but some of us tried to imitate again drop the structure that didn't work there was a backlash so some felt we were weren't strict enough we're gonna compromise and we're gonna be like everybody else and so they left us some of my father's closest friends left so we faced that in the 60s and 70s we're still here and in the 80s and 90s so we faced another wave and we faced the affirmation statement and the emergent movement and so on the 2000 we faced some more another generation said they're not going to last they're not going to survive we've got to get out before it all collapses we're still here and we're stronger than ever before we're not perfect we've got only share of problems 10400 ministers of the US and Canada I could pretty much guarantee at least one of them is not living right at least one of them is compromising if you had a church of 10,000 people you would say the same thing too if you had a youth group of 10,000 people you'd say the same thing too but look for 70 years we've had people on either side saying they're not going to make it they're not going to survive they can't they can't hold on to their strictness they got to compromise or they're gonna compromise and fade it we're still here most of the naysayers you don't cannot even trace you don't even know where their heritage is give it 20 years and it's hard to trace their heritage and I'm not trying to be unkind I'm just talking in generalities don't apply to any person because that's against what I'm trying to say I'm just saying in generalities when we stop respecting the body and we isolate ourselves in the body we're the ones that get left out as a stone in the field and we're no longer Livingstone we're just barely surviving if that I'm challenging us and I'm not talking about organizational lines per se I'm talking about spiritual unity I challenge us let's build God's house together let's be strong in the word let's be strong in the spirit and we can win our world for Jesus Christ this is the hour of the greatest revival in the church bull let's praise the Lord together and let's claim the promise [Applause]
