the gentleman i'm about to introduce to you has a commanding presence in modern times unlike uh very many people in the world i don't know anybody who's had a more profound influence upon so many churches in such a short amount of time than dr fred price the no the more i get to know him the more i sense this thing that's scratching him he is so concerned that we do things right and understand god right and enjoy god like we ought to i think the more you listen to him and hear his heart and if you have the privilege of being around him and around his people you will learn something that we have failed to learn in many years it is a law of physics anything in motion causes friction if you cannot take the heat you just have to get out the kitchen because you and if you're not willing to take risk and dare and dr price we thank you for showing us a better way a more excellent way we thank you for being an example to us and i don't know a sweeter woman in the world i know he'll make mention but his little wife betty looks like the picture of a brand new rose she's full of love and life and she's our miracle tonight we love you darling but it's a great honor to have this man we wanted him to address you because you see he's doing something not just talking brother robert said to me uh when brother christ had spoken here some time ago he said if we could take his brand of faith and inject it into the mainstream of the church there'd be no limitations for us all across this country i meet people for years they have before i ever i i slipped away and when i was a freshman in college here i never even told too many people this because i was afraid it was going to get me but i never i never skipped class but when dr price came here and spoke at the sheridan christian sunny center when rhema was just starting i had never heard a black man talk like him that isn't the only reason i went it was what he was saying but i never heard a black man talk like that nice i went every day to hear him speak profoundly affected my life never knew that i would ever be able to invite him here to speak i was just a freshman in college just a young man which shows you how incredibly old he is and uh but i looked good but he looked good what can i say what can you say fred price give him a great big god bless you he's here the one and only [Applause] [Music] oh glory oh thank you thank you thank you i couldn't pass that up i meant i looked good for 85. you know i wasn't bragging i mean i do look good for 85. you know you you hope you look this good brother praise the lord but uh let me say on behalf of my wife betty that we certainly are privileged to be here tonight i counted a very a high honor to have been asked and i was so happy that scheduling permitted me to be a part of this conference because i've heard about it from almost its inception and so i'm very honored to be here tonight now let let's let me lay a few ground rules before we get started so that uh we don't have any misunderstandings okay i am your friend okay i want no i want you to understand that i am here as a part of the family okay i'm in the body of christ along with you i have my assignment from the lord and it's different than everybody else's just like everybody else is different than mine we all have our little part to play and do what we're supposed to do and what we're anointed to do and so i know that i'm going to get into some areas and say some things tonight that may sound almost antagonistic and i only say this from previous experience and i just was led to say this tonight i've never done this before what i'm doing now but i didn't come to this conference to be sour grapes i came here because i believe that god ordained it amen i talked to a guy the other day i took my took my wife somewhere and i dropped her off and i was coming from the parking lot and i guess this man recognized me from television i sure didn't know him and so he had pulled his car to the side in this parking lot and he stopped when i walked by i said brother price and i said yes and so he began to talk and boy he got real serious i mean he really he got real serious and and he said you know i've never met you before i've seen you on tv a few times but i i i've really heard some well i don't guess you you probably don't want to hear this anyway i said man go ahead and say it you know we may i might learn something don't be don't be concerned he said well i've heard some well you know it's like gossip in in and it's really it's really bad brother price he was really serious he looked to me like he was a baby christian he was real serious about this and he said you know i heard that you drive a rolls-royce i mean he was really serious about this and i said man don't let that bother you i do no problem i do oh yeah i drive a rolls-royce sure yeah i said what's wrong with that he said well but we're supposed to be yeah i know we're supposed to be poor huh well no we spoke you know we're supposed to be you know we're supposed to be humble and and and and and and and and you know we're not supposed to i said well wait a minute have you ever thought about this i live in a community where people are killing one another young people by the droves and some of the people that are doing the killing are driving around at 16 and 17 year old in 70 000 mercedes-benz automobiles and a lot of our younger people who have become disenfranchised with the educational system look at that and they say why go to school and spend all that time getting a degree so i can have me a mercedes-benz i can have one like that all i got to do is push some drugs now that's not all life is about understand believe me i have enough sense to know that but we all affect people in different ways and i consider myself to be uh a lamp i'm not a light because jesus is the light but i'm the lamp that holds the light and i want people need to see that that's just one facet of it but i want the drug pusher and i want the kids that are that are tempted in that direction i want them to see me drive up in my rolls-royce and then when we engage in conversation i want them to know that i don't have to kill my other brothers and sisters to get a car like this that i can serve the living god and exalt the name of jesus christ and still drive a rolls royce now that might not be your calling so keep on driving your forward and be happy about it but don't get upset about me driving my rolls cause i asked my father ford and he gave it to me okay so don't don't knock it but but but and he said well i i never thought about that i know you never thought about a whole lot of things and i started rapping on him and i gave him the word on prosperity and uh when he when i got through with him he said well i praise god praise god bless god brothers good to see you see and all because of ignorance we've listened to the devil's lie that that god has created all these wonderful things for the pimps and the pushers and the and the drug pushers and the drug dealers but christians we should be more humble and drive around in chariots okay now understand again to each his own that might not be your calling but don't knock me you don't know what god told me to do okay so the best thing to do is just keep your mouth and your hand off of this anointed vessel okay and drive your smoking rattling beat up broken down chinchy oil burning wreck leave me alone [Music] yes leave me alone oh yeah oh where am i now here oh yeah praise god hallelujah praise the lord
