[Music] thank you good day Learners Welcome to our new lesson for today's video we are going to discuss biotech and abiotic components of an ecosystem but before we go further I would like you to look at this photo what makes this plant grow what do you think are the non-living things needed by this plant to grow and what are the conditions needed by the plant to grow healthy yes you are correct the plants need water sunlight fertile soil and some other factors in biology an ecosystem is a community of organisms and their physical environment the notion of an ecosystem recognizes the many ways that an organism interacts with and depends on various parts of its environment an ecosystem is composed of two components and those are the biotic and biotech components abiotic components include rocks temperature humidity precipitation water air sun and other non-living factors while biotic components include plants animals insects birds worms fungi bacteria and other living organisms in an ecosystem now there are three biotic factors and those are the producers consumers and the decomposers the producers are also called autotrophs or what we call self-feeders producers can make their own food through photo autotrophs or chemo autotrophs for the autotrophs use the process of photosynthesis to make their own food while the chemother drops use the process of chemosynthesis chemo autotrophs are commonly found in environments where plants cannot survive such as the bottom of the ocean or in acidic Hot Spring now let's talk about the consumers this is what we call the heterotrophs meaning they cannot make their own food and they rely on producers in order to stay alive and these are the herbivores carnivores and omnivores [Music] herbivores are consumers that eat only plants carnivores eat only animals while omnivores eat both plants and animals now let's talk about the decomposers this is what we call the Earth's major recyclers these are the organisms that break down waste and dead organism while returning the raw materials back to the ecosystem now before we end this lesson let us have a recap by answering this concept map please pause the video for a while and try to answer this concept map all right let us answer this concept map and let us check if you got the correct answer an ecosystem is composed of two components and these are the abiotic and biotic components or the non-living and living components now there are three biotech factors and those are the producers the consumers and the decomposers the producers such as plants are self feeders and the consumers such as animals are called heterotrophs now there are three subcategories of consumers and those are the herbivores carnivores and omnivores herbivores are consumers that eat only plants such as insects carnivores eat only animals such as snakes and omnivores eat both plants and animals such as chicken [Music] the decomposers such as fungi are called Earth's major recyclers macro decomposer are called that rewards such as worm I hope you learned something today see you in our next lesson that's it see you in our next lesson and if you are new to my Channel please don't forget to hit the Subscribe button and hit the Bell notification so that you will be notified for more videos like this [Music] foreign
