Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
then beeeeef, sautéed with peas and onions
What's not to like? Custard, good. Jam, goood. Beef, goooooood.
I was telling my husband about those new layered trifles that just showed up at Walmart and Sam's Club recently, since someone brought one to a potluck party. (Side note - the chocolate one is quite good and not as rich as I had expected! Pretty fluffy, in fact. Worth a try if you're at a loss for a dessert for an event.)
He didn't know what a trifle was, and standard explanations couldn't place it in his brain, so I brought him back to this episode and started describing Rachel's trifle. "You know, a layer of ladyfingers, then jam, then custard, then more jam and ladyfinger, then beef sauteed with peas and onions..." It clicked. Friends references work every time.

MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMM
oh dear god...
I made one of these last week for a friends themed tailgate and it honestly tasted pretty good. Lots of folks just can't get past the idea of meat with sweets and didn't try it
You're all crazy. Rachel's trifle would not taste good. Now, the improved version made by Babish. . . looks delicious.
So, this is something I have always wanted to try. Honestly, I think it sounds good.
