She's using her full voice!! And it sounds amazing! I always figured that she would step up her vocals even more now that she's not a minor and people will judge more harshly.
At 2:17 you can really see her breath control
This was a bold choice for the performance, that two octave run in the verses is brutal. She was definitely struggling a bit to hit the highest note in the verses, but she overall sounded damn good considering how hard it is to sing as softly as she does. Also I totally called that she would do this or I love you to make the boomers view her as a real artist
I really liked the performance, I’m glad that other people liked it too because I got downvoted to hell praising it yesterday.
I love that she can do the edge all year and then pull it back and serve beautiful vocals, Gaga teas tbh.
Best performance of the night. Tyler was awesome. I missed half of Lizzo but I assume she was awesome. Demi was also phenomenal. But this performance by Billie is perfection, and watching her sing with her full voice for a brief moment was very powerful.
This performance showed that she can actually sing, even really good. I want her to just sing like this instead of adding anything extra.
One of my favorite performances of the night. She missed a couple notes but the rest was so good that I didn't mind.
It was a beautiful performance but I can't help but feel The Grammys told her to perform this. We've seen they can be quite controlling with the Ariana snafu of 2019. And we know Billie is extremely creative. I've no doubt if given the freedom she'd have given us a more creative and daring performance.
Nevertheless, this was beautiful.
I wish she had done Bad Guys or something upbeat tbh. There were too many ballads this year and I think she got overshadowed.
