Bike wiring (part 1)

hey guys welcome back to another chief pet video this week we're going to start with the wiring on the bike so welcome back everyone welcome back to a normal series because probably the last two videos that you've seen were special videos to explain everybody on YouTube how to test your electrical components on your bike and how to wire up these components but this wiring up what's just with helping taking you through a diagram this week we're gonna start with the wiring on the bike so what will you will see on this video and also in the coming two videos probably is that I use a specific type of connector and this is a super seal or amp super sealed connector and I really like these connectors because they are specifically for automotive and they're kind of water resistant and yeah they're just really easy to use and I like them a lot just how they look now it doesn't mean that I will use only these type of connectors but when I will use three or more wires in one place and I'll probably install these connectors so these are these connectors you will need a special pliers for that this is a special player that you use for these type of connectors but also four different connectors that I use so you will see me using this type of pliers as well now what I did in the last week's next to the painting goes to videos is I filled up my assortment of bolts I just love it when I have my balls complete and I hate it when I have to reuse old bolts or when I don't have the right size so I filled those up and I've also made a check if I'm complete with all the electrical parts that I need for starting this wiring project and luckily what I found in my storage was a pretty complete boxes so I didn't really fill those up because I thought I had enough for now so a really nice thing for you guys to know is you're gonna see a little bit of behind the scenes and what I mean by that is the electrical test video that I made you saw me testing all these things and he also saw me testing my stator on my bike now the in reality my still my stator was faulty and I didn't know that but luckily enough by making this video I was just checking everything and then I found out my that my stator was broken or was making short circuit so what you saw in the video is there's a really big cut in that and I just want to show you guys as my loyal viewers and what really happened behind the scenes so this is why it's so important to test your technical parts before electrical parts before you start any starting procedures because I just found out that this room this stator gave me a short circuit and if I place the positive in one of the white wires and gave a ground then I have a short circuit so something is wrong with my stator and now I'm gonna replace it with another one [Music] [Music] this is where you can see that the stator is having short-circuit I make ground on one end of my ohms meter and with the other end I measure my stator I get a reading which should be an open line I take one out of my spare engine I've tested this one first and all looks okay I will have to refurbish it a little bit especially the wires [Music] these wires look horrible first I thought I had to reconnect them but then I saw it was only a matter of retaping them I have loads and different types of tape for any occasion for this case I use tape which could also stand some heat [Music] I cleaned every part really well with contact cleaner then I tested the parts again just to check check double check [Music] and I tested one last time when everything was installed [Music] so as you can see I replaced my stator and then I finished making my video so I cut that part out of my video as if my stator was great and working but in reality I had a faulty stator and what's in it now is a replaced one so I just wanted to show you that so without further ado let's watch the video as I start my wiring on my bike first I insult my seat connector at its place to have a look where to put my distribution fuse box [Music] [Music] I'm glad I asked for that recess in my seat this made the fuse box fit exactly [Music] then I started with my grounds for this I always use this point of the frame it's nice close to the battery and a good point for the wire which runs to the starter motor if you use my grounding technique for your starter motor that is to have a solid ground make sure you really have a bare piece of metal that's why I send this point with my dremel tool now I take my 10 gouge wire for the ground of my starter motor [Music] [Music] then I started the soul during when you solder wires to a connector always make sure you first let the wire suck the electrical solder in by heating the wire and touching the electrical solder to the wire if the wire doesn't suck the solder in touch your soul during IR in a bit with the solder and then it will work [Music] next to that then put some solder on your connector otherwise the two won't melt together they only melt if both pieces already have their own solder now if both have their solder is really easy to melt them together this wire goes directly to the ground there it is combined with the ground to the starter motor here I also make sure the surface is free of paint before I attach the cable I can't stress enough how important this wire is for your starter motor of Tiago bikes now to run the cable from the negative of the battery to join the ground distribution bus of the fuse block then we have a solid ground for the body [Music] [Music] now to refurbish that starter solenoid [Music] look what I found [Music] somebody didn't really had a calling for electricity I would have run this where do I need a connector I would use blue and red for this this cable would have to go to the starter switch under the fuel tank these two would meet this will be an amp super steel connector I use a heat shrink sleeve to cover up the soldered ends [Music] [Music] first you add a yellow seal on the wire then you add the connector press it together with your special pliers and stick the added connectors in your main connector [Music] that's basically it I will do more of these connectors in the future videos and we'll make better footage of it then - nicely wrap these two wires and clean and redo the ends of this solenoid [Music] [Music] now this would be the positive end from the solenoids straight to the starter engine [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so they're coming videos will be me continuing to wiring on the bike I have to be honest I'm I hope I can edit it that it's also nice to watch because wiring isn't really the coolest part of the bike and it's not really cool to make a video out of that so I really have to work out if this will be yea enjoyable for you to view otherwise it will be really short videos but I know that you really appreciate seeing it how it works on the bike and how I lay on my wire so I'll just make a video out of that but it's not going to be there so sexiest for instance installing a distance or installing a cylinder house and so the coming two videos I think I need two videos for that it will be about a
