hey guys welcome back so today i'm going big box plant shopping but i'm specifically looking for rare plants i love these videos i hold off on going big box plant shopping i used to go all the time and now i wait and i do all my big box plant shopping all at once during these episodes i've been seeing people finding amazing uncommon rare hard to find plants i also love hearing if you guys have have some outside as well but i'm just going to take a quick look and see some cute little bonsai some zzz's here um peace lilies i love all the different planter choices that are here [Music] these are 20. looks like we have some zzzzs and therium down here little maranta wow these bromeliads are huge i have to have to back up so that i can show the full size of them look how beautiful they are even flowering 14. pretty amazing [Music] underneath here looks like there are some birkens some skin depths is pectus um trubia moonlight beautiful angel wing begonias look at that oh the color stunning difference aglionima i keep going back and forth on these it's so lovely i you know this is one of those i probably end up getting one day loads of gorgeous calatheas and some more of that aglionema i'm interested in for 19. look at that leaf [Music] loads of san severia 1698. i've been seeing people finding some interesting sense of areas out and about lately like someone found a whale finn area i think at a big box shop i think i saw that on someone's youtube video that's interesting [Music] aglionimas and different bakias when i was at perfect choice nursery recently i saw they had a different different baking of variegated i'd forget what type of different baking but it was so cool it had white all along the outside of the leaves sorry my voice is doing something funny today but [Music] i might be hitting perfect choice nursery up sooner rather than later again because i can't stop thinking about so many of those rare plants i saw money trees always on the hunt for a variegated one one of my favorite types of plants but no luck finding a variegated one yet but we just keep looking right guys we can't find exactly what we're looking for bromeliads all sorts of beautiful ones so many varieties bromeliads is one of those i don't know much about but i do think they're gorgeous [Music] look at all these bright colors love them taking a quick peek succulents and cacti um in some of my previous big boxwear plant shopping videos i found variegated apoontea varigated bearpaw some you know some of the more uncommon ones and it's always surprising what you can find at big box shops i always think these are really nice variegated jade you know i tend to really like variegated stuff i know not everyone does which is totally understandable um i really like the way it looks i think it adds more something interesting to the plant and i just think for you don't see it all the time i'm surprised they have it here but i'm a fan [Music] all right going to take a look at their outdoor section i have noticed quite a few houseplants out here so take a quick look over here we have some spathophylum here peace lily they are seventeen dollars nice big fiddly figs beautiful large sansevieria here forty dollars for that massive plant there aglio nemas wow so vibrant some more aglionema's 12.99 ferns some crotons looks like some cute little spider plants coffee plants oh it looks um looks like either pearls and jade or an enjoy which is a nice find for um for a big box shop isn't that pretty great plant taking a look at some of their smaller plants out here tradiscancia so beautiful and shimmery some red photonia jade um pylia friendship plant over there it's more pink pink photonia green photonia different some nice peperomias here a whole assortment of them sansevieria crotons everywhere [Music] pepperomias up here optusofolia verragata 1698. this looks like an aquamarine a rainbow moss so cute you know that one you don't see it all the time um a jade spider plant maybe green spider plants [Music] loads of golden pothos up here there's some nice um heterasium chordatum hartley philodendrons over there it'd be so cool to find a variegated one they're so crazy expensive to purchase it would be so exciting to find one i don't know if anyone has found one at a big box shop but i just think that would be you know the find of the year if we were to find one beautiful um green philodendron here maybe an imperial green huge [Music] [Music] all right i am at lowe's my second location and there are some caladiums i want to peek at first these are so pretty ten dollars i love the colors of them there's some other ones over here these are nice as well i love the texture of these leaves and how they look they crinkle up then they have the beautiful green on the outside and the red and the shape of these leaves there's a caladium and if i can find that picture i'll post it here for you guys i cannot staring at on instagram it's like pink kind kind of translucent and the shape is similar to this leaf and i just i just can't stop thinking about it so i'm on the hunt i'm sure it's impossible to find but um and with coming into summer caladiums are about to be out of season but you know never hurts to just take a peek all right let's take a look and see what we have going on here [Music] it does give a whale finn vibes doesn't it money trees um cute little succulents all of these are 498 nice little pothos pretty syngonium looks like there are two different types here this darker one and then this lighter one i'm starting to get really obsessed with zinconiums to be honest let's see what else we have down here fern i think that's a small quarter line i'm not sure though crotons sometimes you can find good stuff in here so let me just really browse through ferns all right ooh some nice strawberry but gones some fish oh my gosh it's not big ivy little gardens there and therium [Music] looks like some white antherium back there bamboo look how cute okay they have this birkin i like the birkin and the um i think there's an urban jungle yeah they're urban jungle ones um that's the collection that does these types of pots fiddle desert rose i have some rubber trees back there a lot of trending tropicals here trubia moonlight calathea mosaica birkins learned a lot about al it's so neat seeing all these plants after my costa farms tour because i just feel like i have a real understanding and appreciation for each of these plants and the um you know behind the scenes look it's it's mike's mom's neighbor's plant sorry inside joke for those of us that have watched the costa costa farms tour um these i have one of these and it's growing like crazy growing growing growing rafter for high here's the zz raven's easies some cute um what were kids beautiful monster deliciosa this huge one is 59. interest though look at that leaf perfect of course aglionema just the owl i always mess this one up raindrop peperomia diffembachia naglionemas rojo congo bird's nest ferns oh look variegated a punsia over here pretty see what else is going on some of these look pretty thirsty look at this little fat guy that little round fella so cute oh here's another regular ponyta if this one is super thirsty you can tell because it's puckered when they're cacti pucker up like that it means it's thirsty which is fine it's fine for them to be thirsty just give them a drink when they her up means you're not over watering so the fact that they're they have paper spine cacti here is i find that this is an uncommon cacti the fact that they have them in the big box shops is really exciting it's probably one of my all-time favorites as you can see why it's called paper spa and it has the cool it has the cool little spines on there feel like they're made of paper there's a big boy back there i would one hundred percent be buying one right now if i didn't already have two or three already at home some more variegated upon two they have a nice selection here succulents these are cute oh my little variegated jade that i keep buying oh my gosh look how cute that is a little white or a little pink planter five dollars girl you so cute hmm wow this star aloe is massive massive massive oh bear paws guys know i love me some bear paws so cute looking like some low paws look at all the little babies it's making oh my gosh look at those perfect baby paws just taking a look over here first of all look at this croton i mean the colors on those leaves are beautiful next level really cute peperomia there and then i saw this and i'm so curious at first i thought it was apache clotta hoya but i don't think it is because it doesn't have diff like divine faint defined veinage on the leaves like what i saw in pictures but i'm curious i'm curious as to what this might be if anybody knows i just post on my instagram story if anyone knows what it is cute uh brazil back there anytime i see a brazil i always check for creamy variegation you know with brazil it's primarily just gonna be a really light green like a lime green color but there are so many other varieties that have really creamy like white creamy variegation and some people have commented that i need to start looking a little bit closer with all the brazil's that i run into but this one definitely appears to be just um just just a normal brazil still absolutely stunning one of my favorite plants [Music] here we go bird's nest um san severia zz's some of these really amazing aglio nemas that just have that beautifully delicate thin leaf and then the new growth is like that white with the pink can't get over how gorgeous it is [Music] that rex begonia and the underside of the leaves are so pretty too [Music] i just noticed out here they have bird of paradise orange which is a harder bird of paradise to come to like stumble upon the bird of paradise orange does have smaller leaves they also have this you can tell us bird of paradise orange because it has this like dark this almost orange um looking part of the inside of the leaf oh look it's really noticeable here and you just don't see them that often so the fact they have so many of these here is really exciting um 17 definitely not rare or uncommon but not nearly seen as much as the white and over there they have white show you the difference this is the white bird of paradise as you can see totally different you know style of leaf here it's much bigger it's broader it's flatter it has white it doesn't have orange on the inside really beautiful um and these are 26 larger larger plants really nice quarter lines here as well all right let's see what we have going on in here i already see a lot of trending tropicals and urban jungles so yeah i'm excited um sansevieria money trees anything very white but not exactly what we're looking for spider plants um some of the which kind is this dog tail cactus dog tail cactus very cool kangaroo paw fern interesting golden pothos this is cool tradiscantia i love this kind it's so it has ultimate fuzz factor fuzz factor 10. i'm total oh you know stan sitting here just talking to myself like always so gotta laugh right we have um uh what i always call belgian waffle plant but it's just waffle plant this one's purple yes purple waffle and crotons beautiful some nice rex begonias here that one's interesting looks like a potentially an escargot variety once it gets bigger and it has the two that's cool how much are you five dollars we'll see if we see any more that look in a little bit better shape okay yeah that's definitely an escargot variety rex begonia so pretty pink on the leaves hmm that's interesting i wonder what kind it is five dollars really really pretty wow some really nice ones down here just standard varieties though crotons and there was the pepperoni obtusifolia over there looks like i think this one's aurelia i always call this one golden goddess but what is it called again you know it is golden goddess okay so pretty where did my say this one comes from um thai sunrise maybe something like that such a beautiful plant golden pothos down there so here we have holy it's santa soma look at her she is so beautiful oh my gosh okay i am so excited i had no idea do i try to see if i see any other ones wow i didn't know these were in charlotte yet i mean this is the only one i've seen i haven't heard of anyone else wow look at that leaf it's so beautiful [Music] okay lucky lady today i am just in awe in complete all ravens easies philadelphians oh i'm so i just can't stop staring at this plant it's so pretty [Music] i have some begonias more zzz's birkins ant calathea mosaica rapidophora hyes wow [Music] sansevaria so many amazing beautiful plants we have down here some more sansevieria potos some interesting looking different bacchias aglionemas monstera deliciosas always keeping an eye out for variegated still have yet to find one maybe one day these look like philodendron hope really nice large ones they're so pretty um ponytail palms and ethereum they have the chocolate antherium ones that you don't see very often gonia maculata birkin trubia moonlight let's see lots of fiddle figs but there's a bunch more over here so let's go see teardrop peperomias aglionema here's that really cool aglionema i keep on and on about more trubia moonlight peperomia cane begonias so many amazing plants just awesome and these are twelve dollars for that plant with the planter it's so pretty tiffenbachia syngonium cute little peperomias staghorn fern that looks nice in that planter uh beautiful skin daxus here maybe silveryann because there's quite a bit of silver on some of those leaves [Music] wow look at this i'm not sure if this is a regular brazil the the um white is really i don't think the camera is going to do it justice cause i'm on my cell phone it is so creamy and white and the leaves are shaped kind of long i'm wondering if this is something you know a different variety than brazil like a cream or a white stripe or a rio or something like that let's see gosh i wasn't expecting anything in here i can't tell what do you guys think i mean that leaf doesn't look like a brazil to me and that some of them are really long i'm just kind of spinning it around [Music] hmm interesting look at that that doesn't look like brazil to me pothos here i haven't even looked at the price wow look at that nice trail gosh this thing is huge and gorgeous i'll check out the price for you guys in a minute see what else they have here some fern nine dollars four kids twelve jade five dollars cute little um african violets fatonia these are four dollars for the small plants variegated chiclera cute little bonsai oh my goodness nine dollars it's a great deal for a little bonsai like a little golden back there lots of irrigation little succulents these are all six dollars dracena ivy little um cordatum philodendron back there traduscantia the leaves on this trattos cancer are huge look at that shiflera [Music] we have some more orchids there's more on the other side let me look and ethereum six dollars okay so we have another brazil they're ten dollars which is first of all fantastic this one looks more like a brazil to me this one it doesn't have that very creamy variegation it doesn't have those very pointed leaves this one looks more like a brazil with the exception of that leaf [Music] i guess it does have some i don't know maybe this is a hybrid of some sort this one looks more like a brazil so pretty look at that leaf yeah ten dollars hanging baskets those potholes are massive that's pretty tempting compared to this i'll show you guys when i'm not under these fluorescent lights in person this is almost white yeah that looks doesn't look like like 100 brazil to me little cacti five dollars some more hanging baskets chattisgantia i'm not sure what kind that is wow some more traditions here i wonder if it's catching how shimmery those leaves are in the light i'm seeing a little crystals in the leaves so beautiful cute little leaves on that guy then we have some roses four dollars fittonia some more golden pothos back there in aurelia they have some little gardening supplies here as well all right guys i am back and it is the plant hall portion of the video i had the best time i had fantastic finds so i can't wait to share with you what i got so first up is not an uncommon or rare plant but i had to get it because i wasn't sure what it was and it is um part of the urban jungle collection and it is an autographed plant at first i really thought it might be a hoy apache clotta but i didn't think it was because it doesn't have venation all that anyways yeah it's an autographed plant um these are really really cool it's obviously in juvenile form these have really interesting textures to the leaves once they get older and more mature and these are called autographed plants because people literally will sign their names and leave autographs in them when they go traveling places and see these plants so they're famous for people leaving autographs in their leaves i don't think i'll be doing that to this poor plant but um it's still a cool bit of interesting information about this plant and its history as far as care with this plant it is a tropical plant so i will be very careful not to over water it i'll just continue to try to provide it you know the tropical environments that they're used to i've seen these kind of near the beach and stuff before in tropical places so you know i'll just when it dries out i'll water it and see how it goes leave your care tips i always always appreciate that but and i love this little planter that it came with 12.98 such a great deal on this guy i just think he's cute as a button i'm so happy with this plant but let me show you the other ones i got as well next up is this beautiful xanthosoma xanthosoma um i couldn't believe when i found one of these i saw them when i did my costa farms tour and i thought to myself oh my gosh i cannot wait till those come out and sorry sorry but uh they had mentioned that they put some out in the in the market kind of as a test and and to see how it goes so i was shocked when i saw one of them in charlotte i didn't realize they put some out in the charlotte area so yeah so happy that was a real this was really like a very pleasant surprise the leaves are so so gorgeous oh my gosh like the color of them i just i'm just totally in awe and completely in love as far as care i've heard they make very wonderful house plants and are very easy care so you know knock on wood i hope that is the case now when i have seen these in stores there are upwards of a hundred and fifty dollars for a small one of these so to be able to get one this massive this mature with an awesome planter for uh twenty dollars oh my gosh it's a dream come true i just love to see plants becoming more accessible to the house plant community so more and more of us can just grow to love these plants and add them to our collection also you know help the species along and the different varieties all right so this next one you guys are going to have to tell me what you think because it looks like a brazil but then in some ways it doesn't look like a brazil i just don't know what to make of it because off the bat it does look like a regular brazil and i think it probably is but it does have some leaves that are a little bit different than regular so maybe it has a little touch of another variety mixed in or something like that some of these leaves definitely have a white and creamy variegation to it this leaf is very creamy there's another one here this one is pretty uh it's creamy as well you know there's like this one and this one i don't know the camera's making it look kind of green but in person it doesn't look so green i don't know either way i'm good with it this leaf you know looks a little bit different than your standard variegation which is something like that you know or something like that so who knows it's just a fun plant i i it probably isn't anything but uh you know the more i look the more i'm seeing leaves with white i'll show you an example of um a white stripe so this one is a white stripe philodendron um and as you can see here like the leaves are quite pointy on the ends and they do have a lot of the creaminess so here's the difference and then this is the brazil so you see like this one definitely looks like brazil with the exception of a few of these leaves so i definitely see similarities and i see differences too so i just think it's fun so those were the three plants i found let me know if you guys
