Biden loves talking about crisis' except when it's his own: York

[Music] you know in a mere 92 days president biden has self-declared all kinds of crises so let's bring in our great friend byron york chief political correspondent uh of the washington examiner byron reading your column a few days back we've got climate crisis public health gun violence crisis we've got a semiconductor crisis we've got mental health crisis general public health crisis we have an economic crisis and we have a racial crisis byron that's in 92 days doesn't sound like that great administration help me out on this this white house is happy to talk about crises it does it all the time it just doesn't want to talk about the crisis created by president biden himself and that is the crisis on the border and you know first of all we should say there is a crisis on the border there's a huge flow of illegal border crossers uh stuffed into miserably overcrowded detention centers no real effort made to stop the flow instead just the the administration simply wants to house the migrants until it can release them into the united states there's no doubt it's a crisis but the administration has absolutely refused to call it one and then last weekend the president kind of slipped up and said it was a crisis but then a couple of days later the white house spokeswoman flip-flopped on the president's behalf saying that he didn't mean it yeah so the one crisis they won't talk about is the one they created you're right madame saki worked it back byron first of all i don't think there's an economic crisis i think there's an economic boom but i think their economic policies will create an economic crisis but is there you know their thinking to get inside their head never let a crisis go to waste so with all these crises they can have their whole ideological left progressive agenda is that the deal i think i think there's two two things to it and you're absolutely right the the famous rahm emanuel never let a a crisis go to waste idea is being used to justify unprecedented action i mean this this infrastructure plan they're talking about the the recent covid release plan the relief plan these are figures spending in the trillions of dollars that are simply not needed uh by economic conditions today the other benefit of calling it a crisis is to portray president biden as heroically working against these terrible odds that he was given by the trump administration by republicans making a superhuman effort because he's facing crises right and left i was just turning to look on the wall with all the crises listed but i we must have put it up on the full screen you know byron uh whatever happened to optimism whatever happened to the best is yet to come whatever happened to america is an exceptional country and we're going to pull out of this uh provided we don't let the government and the central planners run the place well you know usually that kind of uh that kind of pessimism everything is terrible is what you say in the campaign and then when you begin to govern you start sort of highlighting the good things uh and you're right this administration keeps talking about crises every single day except for one except for one what's the one number one crisis created yeah yeah in 92 days i thought you said except for one day you know today is earth day we've been celebrating it on our show uh for the you know the prior five segments i thought you were referring to earth day byron york top political writer for the washington examiner thank you byron old friend appreciate it very much
