hello everybody Carleton Pearson here at streaming consciousness live every Thursday just about we get to come together and chat and talk if they could rethink and consider and discuss and occasionally debate we're spending this whole reach this is a different model that we're doing tonight and we're on our new come Sunday dot org site which has just recently launched come Sunday was the movie come Monday is the movement the movement away from traditional modules and modalities to a different way a new way of thinking and being and experiencing and expressing yourself in the universe you're taking greater charge of your life we're not gonna be so manipulated and monopolized by presuppose religious traditions or cultural traditions this is a changing and challenging and transitioning world we're not in trouble we're in transition you're on your way to a wealthy place in consciousness you're on your way we're all are to greater in like a minute we're gonna meet each other there in consciousness so let's say it's new to me too in so many ways but I'm loving every bit of it and I want you to become a part of this movement so goes comes come Monday org and sign up become a part of the great movement and we're evolving and expanding and revolving and involving there's an inward thing that's taking place in your soul in your heart in your mind I'm about to say to you tonight and but it's ongoing because I've never in all my years of ministry or talking or preaching or reaching teaching I've never had such a rush of information constantly 24/7 I'm always thinking and I keep my computer close to me I'm constantly writing it's like bam bam it's like the universe doesn't wait though I'm ready I have to always be prepared instant in season out of season is the old because used to say but before I could move forward to what I call expanded consciousness or expanded ways of thinking and being to reprogramming I went through several years and I'm still actually going through the years of deep programming I'm learning as I learned I have layers and layers at least 50 years of layers you know I'm 65 years old the last 15 years I've been I've been debunking and unloading and disrobing if you will divesting my selves of layers and layers of presuppose notions and religious presuppositions it's been a cleansing cathartic sometimes frightening time because I'm having to rethink what I believe in why I believe it and how old's the beliefs add to or subtract from the quality of my life you hear me say that a lot you been following me you hear me repeat that on concept leery think that's what the word repentance means in the scriptures John Baptist came preaching as did Jesus repent for the kingdom of heaven that is lofty thinking the kingdom of the the ether of the author of their higher reaches and regions and rhythms of consciousness is at hand repent or sometimes repair the road the route by which you access your spiritual self repent though Metanoia needs to think to reconsider rethink repent think again after you thought think again I am reconsidering everything I've ever been taught I'm not denouncing or denying everything but I'm rethinking everything I'm not trying to rewrite the Bible as I say in the movie I'm rereading it I don't completely just discredit it there's a lot about the Bible that that I don't consider relevant today but I'm a student of the Bible have always been when my dad did the barely read me that Bible his dad did too it's been in our family around our family so I rethink scriptures and interpretations of Scripture I take the Bible seriously I just don't take it always literally I think it's more important what Jesus says about God than what the church says about Jesus that's a daring statement but that's where I am and I make these religious references because many who follow me or what I'm calling recovering fundamentalist it's like we've been addicted to a religion culturally psychologically emotionally devotionally commotion we all our lives and now we're going through sometimes cold turkey are kind of a detox I know I am I mean I'm I've been going through this several years I probably will go through it as long as I was in it fifty years and I'm 65 so that that puts me past a hundred years old all right at fully and by the time I get there there'll be something else different something more I'm totally for that so really I'm going through this deep program and I think you are too and I hope you'll be willing to go through even if not eager at least willing to make these changes because I have various depths and layers of tradition and religious conditioning and coding what I call artificial insemination the word seminary comes from the word semen it's you're being seeded with something and most seminaries cater to a particular denomination and they're thousands of them in our country in our culture in variations of the denominations within the denominations there's no consensus on scriptural interpretation the problem with the Bible is we don't have any of the original manuscripts manases the Latin word for hand the handwritten copies don't exist as far as we know none of the originals the ones that seem to be most reliable are those who are the oldest if you go back to the oldest manuscripts to the most recent you'll find a lot of changing in the wording in the phraseology Hebrew is not a language that has punctuation there were no paragraphs in the original letters most people don't know that we read the Bible in English thinking that's the way it came across when the first writers wrote it and the problem with the writers writing is a lot of the Bible chapters we don't know who wrote them including Genesis we presumed to be Moses who was there when God spoke to Adam did Adam write the experience down or Eve we don't know and we don't know who told Moses that not that it wasn't the burning bush because he his first encounter with the voice of God was from a bush you think that he literally heard a voice coming out of a bush I think I I used to wear big throat y'all heard a voice coming out of a bushel from my pulpit so I've seen a lot of bushes and trees in the pulpit that weren't truths so people say stuff and then you you edit it and you audit it and you you you tweak it and they did that over the years and we'll talk about that for repeatedly on different because when I discuss to somebody who text me today or email that said why do you use the Bible to discredit the Bible or use the Bible to when you don't really believe it take it literally the reason I use it is because it is one of the most important and impacting codex's of information in Western history no single book has influenced this culture the Western culture for the last 400 years since 1611 when King James in with King James English headed translating and for many many years only in the last maybe 40 some years 45 to 50 years that people begin to to reinterpret and different translations and interpretations and paraphrases have come out and and most of them are not as accurate as they could be as far as trending from the original language whether that's the Old Testament Hebrew the new 10-degree la I don't even - too much scholarship or academia but what I discussed the Scriptures I have to refer to these things hermeneutics ways so you can understand that you shouldn't necessarily base everything on the way you understand scripture or the way it's even talked to you until you've done the resource person or personally and for quite a long time so we're coated with a certain it's like in our religious DNA I won't talk about biblical bigotry or Bible based hatred as it no longer works for me and never really has I just came up with the term biblical bigotry today because I was thinking how I along with others have used the Bible as a as a vegan I've used it to exclude people I had preached and wrote the book called but gospel I've inclusion all of you who want further explanation on the movie come Sunday so what I was saying because the movie was more than I want to have or something they couldn't put all the theology all the scripture all the philosophy in it and so it leaves you with a lot of questions how can somebody say there is no hell with the Bible references it many times of the 12 times that's mentioned I think about 10 or 11 of them are Jesus but he never used the word help they used the word the Hebrew word Gehenna his name wasn't Jesus in he he was his order to chuck his name was Joshua Yeshua in Greek hisses in Spanish Zeus to Jesus he had a name but if I cast a devil out of pray for somebody in the name of Joshua it wouldn't be inaccurate because I'd be speaking in the Aramaic or Hebrew language but some of y'all would have a fit if I came preaching in the name of Joshua or you see oh so it's language it's lyrical its words verbiage remember we we spell words but words also spell us or cast spells on us that's what you call a spell bounding speaker or preacher you really under his or her spell they're enchanting enchanting you or the you've heard of the Gregorian chant or the repetitious verbalization of some line or some motto or some scripture was a proverb you say that repeatedly and you're conjuring it a certain energy everybody goes into a kind of a trance on their way to transcendentalism or transcendence when's the last time you were in a real trance and you weren't on a drug I know some of y'all been using cannabis which you know was in the garden at least sometime I think maybe John who wrote the book of Revelation if he did write it might have been on something because he was seeing seven headed horses and all that Custer he was out on the I have a patent as it was called he was around 90 years old all the other apostles have been brutally killed I don't think he had a lot of I think he had some trouble getting some sleep there were many sing animals out there mosquitoes as well as is just wild animals do life-threatening animals we don't take all that into consideration and his eyesight might have been a little dim they're riding at night even in the daytime my character all whenever we walk through it I see this is in his 90s and they lived rough rugged rustic glides didn't live in comfortable homes with air conditioning and heating and running water you know that kind of thing so just take all that to consideration when you read the ancient scriptures and consider the ancient thinking of the people who supposedly wrote them or those who copied them the scribes who listen to somebody talk and then wrote down scribbling or scribes the scribblers who wrote him down that that's not just of our Bible but the Quran the Bhagavad Gita and other sacred writings of different groups and it's all cultures and cult groups cult or cultivations of thought cultivations of mind how people guide and guard your institutions or organizations do that now there's a shaking going on in the universe people are shaking off some of that stuff we're questioning things how can you have a quest for God and never question God or have questions about God if God is in finite and we are finite infinite means without finish suggesting also without beginning though nobody getting or in we don't know where God came from God is not a name God as a title referencing some supreme entity or being Jesus is a name Yeshua the our way Jehovah all these are our name self-existent 1 Yahweh but God is something that is referred to as some supreme reality that people imagine to be real and sometimes to actually physical or to dwell any particular place some of our statute stationary gods you know statues and one of the references in the book of Genesis and and critically Exodus is that the Israelites got him he who got seemed to move with them cloud full of cloud by a fire by a cloud by day fire by night and their God was it wasn't just a statue and that don't seem to reflect or flex its muscle and sometimes be very intimidating these are imaginating imaginary and and some fantasies about God and you know someone else's interpretation we buy it it's handed down to us or traded down that's what we mean when we say tradition so deep programming is really important before we reacting to me and some of you are writing you just oh by the way if you don't like the the writing on the wall just on the face just slide to the right there right now just push it wipe wipe the screen to the right and all those names and little symbols will go away and you won't be distracted by them some people actually carry full fledged arguments like I don't see that I'm just looking at a camera lens and talking to you directly and I assumed you were so if you don't like all the discussion with all the people to say what they say because I I'm an inclusion it's that I want people to express themselves and show themselves sometimes it's complete ignorance but it's still there when I say ignorance I don't just mean not knowing I mean not noticing or refusing to make note of a reality or something that's quite obvious people just you know reject certain things biblical bigotry or Bible based hatred which I used like millions over the years it no longer works for me I've actually changed my beliefs so I invite you and that's my purpose tonight and and every night that we share it I dare you to change your beliefs to reconsider what you believe in why you believe it and how those beliefs add to or subtract from the quality of your life now why am I doing this I look at my years of ministry and I'm really triggered by our conversation I had with the late dr. Billy Graham 22 years ago in Oklahoma City in the governor's mansion where we sat together for hours he arrived about 10 o'clock in the morning we stayed there to a two o'clock on the afternoon memorial service where he was the eulogists and I was to close it at the governor's request over at Frank Keeney the dear friend of mine he just broke into the conversation it was almost just me and him talk to his wife Ruth was with him Franklin was beside her my wife was on the other side of me Gina and we talked but mostly dr. Graham and I he just started volunteering his path all's he was he was distressed that morning he was concerned about the audience he would speak to there were over 10,000 180 people have been killed it was the worst act of terrorism on American soil up to that time that was way before 9/11 first we weren't sure we thought it might have been Islamic trigger perpetrated by Islamic terrorists we were stunned to find out it was an American white young man Timothy McVeigh I think his name was part of the militia and that whole nationalistic mindset that did this this terrible crime but he was bothered by here's what he said to me and that has impacted me a lot I hadn't gotten fully into inclusion I hadn't seen this scene on television with the children walking from the Hutus and Tutsis coming back from among Rwanda to Uganda Edie I mean I was not aware of at the time I was so preaching pretty much of a fundamentalist message I just finished it as loose a conference with Jim Baker on the stage the same night Wednesday that the bombing took place in Oklahoma City the governor called me the next day already told me dr. Graham was coming then President Clinton in the cabinet and satellite CNN caimans live when the governor sort of was stressed out he said you come in and entertaining dr. Graham that was all good he said to me dr. Graham did I've been preaching the gospel son for a little over 50 years and and I don't know that I can note any major impact that it's had out see the world changing in fact the world to me he said seems worse I was stunned by the comment it became a conversation I thought sir what do you mean he said I I've traveled the planet I neglected my family sometimes and he pointed to his little wife Ruth who was already shrinking with osteoporosis and constant pain to the day she died he said she raised our children I wasn't there for the basketball and football games in the ballet lessons and and I was trying to save the world traveling the Indian agent I'm gonna all over staying sometimes weeks at a time because we're to take ships we couldn't get on supersonic jets in the earlier days and go to place an hour so we had to get on ships and beyond the ocean for days the open seas I couldn't stay two or three days or sometimes two three we'd sometimes we stayed a month or longer holding great grand crusade and preaching to upwards of a million people but it was huge sacrifice great passion great commitment but I I don't see the results of the work and I find that bothersome he started confessing that he was rethinking what was actually happening the effectiveness of his ministry and the effectiveness or lack of effectiveness of his message I too have done the same thing we call ourselves a Christian nation you know our motto is In God We Trust though it looks like it's more inconstant trust the way they're being touted especially by evangelical Christians out of a group of which I was reared I was a Pentecostal brand of it a little bit more edgy group that shouted and Hobbit and ran and spoken tongue it's a promise I practice so you can cast it out that was I don't deny anything those are real experiences for me not just learned responses or some of the world then real genuine transcendent moments and I still do for those of you that think I he done backside I've never back slidden in my side sleeve and it's coming down through it but I gave my heart to Christ when I was five years old I knew what I was doing received what we call the bats in the hole to go to the manifestation of speaking in tongues when I was around eight so you don't have a rich I can talk the way I'm talking because I know the mentality I know the the psychology I understand that that the the philosophy and the theology the God logic the God thought and God taught I understand all of that I majored in the military English Bible i minored in his theology and historical studies I did more studying after college and university than I did while I was in it I've been hungry for this truth and for reality for expansion and for ways to have not just income I was net in the ministry because of income I was in the ministry and remain in some aspect but for impact and I realized that I was just impacting or maybe slightly imprinting or if not any of that just maybe impressing a bunch of church folk I wasn't and neither were we as a as a movement impacting positive significant with who are feeding the hungry clothing then they kept visiting people in prison passing out rags I evangelize that a radio and television I preach to millions I produced albums that I wrote I think I wrote probably about 18 books 18 to 20 books and now Mike and I published last published books are with Simon & Schuster the gospel of inclusion and God is not a Christian nor Jew Muslim Hindu god is with us in us as us around us so I I did it I mean I I had these conferences I had we were creating traffic jams every Sunday my church I was what you considered a successful mega church minister but I wasn't fulfilled I was bored I wasn't satiated I felt lean and and sometimes more annoying than anointed I was frustrated I didn't see the impact in a globally transforming way not even in the city of Tulsa the we evangelical Pentecostals dominated the culture and we were proud that we dominated the world we own Christian television Pentecostals particularly where that was Pat Robertson and Jim and Tammy Bakker or Paul and Gen Crouch Oral Roberts was like The Godfather of the movement if not the grandfather I was studying William Seymore the one night self-educated son of former slaves who was the founder and father of the great Pentecostal Azusa a Street revival that took place three years in a row without succession with without stopping 19 606 in 1909 the founder of my denomination Bishop Charles Harrison Mason attended that revival in 1907 received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the manifestation of speaking in tongues and turn the Church of God in Christ out of his bath background to a Pentecostal denomination laid hands on the First Assembly of God right past preachers sent some to South Africa started the historic church over there in the blacks and Indians Native Americans but each Cyndi's didn't know a black man founder their church I have to go into all that apartheid I was the one to declare that to them so I have a lot of experience in religion and Christianity and the customers and for generations constable and now I'm rethinking and look getting thousands of responses from people who are doing the same thing so I want you to see this I told you that comes Sunday was the movie movie come Monday his little men not I'm gonna talk this is come Monday move and I'm gonna show you just a short spot of what we'll be offering in you every Monday to start your week off and a number of other things that are gifts to us you go to come Monday dot org and I have a free gift for you and you can browse the website it's brand new launched and there's so much we have on there and a lot more they're gonna put I'll be doing these videos these little proverbs or meditations there's gonna be music really interactive of webbing and all kinds of things are exciting and insight into you so watch this short spot and we'll be right back to this live stream [Music] I don't know how to tell you to ever have fear but I do know how to tell you to shift the energy of fear and make it faith fear is faith in Reverse if you are afraid of a snake that means you will have faith in the snakes power to destroy you if you are afraid of debt then you have faith in the power of debt to destroy you so it shift the energy around and make it what you want it to be the scripture says God has given us the spirit of fear but of love and power and sound mind the better translation will be self discipline that I could teach a whole whole sermon on fear the Greek word that they use that for fear was Daniel's and it means cowardice or timidity or to be intimidated not just terror there's all kinds of I see that that went off just to let you know don't sometimes I talk about biblical bigotry there's some terrorism in the scriptures the the biblical God is say in the exercise in the King James Version I am a terrible dog and there's a lot of fear there's a lot of terror there's a lot of ambiguity there's a lot of people who call themselves saved but they never felt safe I didn't I got quote-unquote saved when I was 5 years old but it up till now the last few years over 60 I'd never felt safe with God I felt saved by God and saved from God by God Jesus I'm just thinking all that theology and I if you asked me some people do what do I think it's the greatest threat to the human race I wouldn't say a nuclear bomb or nuclear warfare I would say religious fundamentalism fundamentalism in any religion is filled and guided by war mongering more than whoremongering anger territorialism tribalism bigotry exclusion and I think that's a threat to the culture so as audacious as it may appear we are trying and there are thousands and thousands of people coming just weekly into a new awareness and millions who have already left religion as they've known it but they're spiritual they still want to experience God and faith and some kind of devotion and emotion in the midst of all of a commotion we want to offer a positive alternative spirituality a new paradigm shift to spiritual progression or progressives cultural creatives sacred activists sacred humanists many physicians I call myself a meta meta Kosta and I speak regularly at the Unitarian Church here where I call myself a unit Ășnico so I believe in the unity of the race the vertical garden and humanity or humankind and horizontal humankind and humankind love the Lord your God with all your heart mind Street and your neighbor horizontally as yourself the word English word neighbor comes from two English words nearby you love the one that's nearby next door across the people that you work with every day you walk around the fellowship the connectedness the club the cooks the clans that we all sort of have somehow gravitate toward it's becoming global now we live in a pluralistic society it's nothing strange to go to school with a Hindu or a Buddhist or Muslim or a Jew who's not going to regular Jewish school a Hebrew person no black white or any other Asian or Native American somebody that speaks a different language or speak the same language was from a totally different culture or speaks with an accent just different people in different ways different times this is the world the world's getting smaller because of the Internet I'm talking alive to somebody who can who can tune it depends on whether their wig and I have friends that are awaken in London and way down in South Africa that set their clocks because they want to see it live but we archive these and they could see it later some people are not sleeping well the biggest response to the movie so far as Brazil we're told by Netflix that's all they're telling us they play their cards for enforcing the press we don't know Brazil or spanish-speaking Catholic oriented countries they like this whole idea of a held less Christianity the Pope recently said that even believe that hell was a literal place so whatever that raised a lot of eyebrows and perfect a lot of years within the Catholic Roman Catholic religion has a billion people right there there's about two three hundred million Protestants or protesters people who protest upon the Catholicism the Martin Luther Martin Luther was very very anti-semitic and Hitler read a lot of Luther's books and Luther was anti-catholic but he did not like Jews and you know there's a lot of things we need to learn in history about our bigotry and our anger and our tribalism in our territorialism it's dividing us especially when those thoughts are are built on religious lines listen to this the Jesus Seminar my friend Galen McAuliffe at CU team in Chicago simplest to it the Jesus Seminar mainstream New Testament scholars are writing about the movie come Sunday it's a lot of discussion people are watching the movie four or five six seven times that's very rare for a movie that's been released only for a few weeks for people to watch it that many times even the most blockbuster movies are watch the once or twice sometimes they forget over months and sometimes years but to have that many people who are watching it repetitiously in a matter of weeks it's pretty much an unusual it's almost a phenomena but they just saw the Jesus Seminar their churches that are meeting just to have they're having watch parties then they're discussing now there are certain church that are getting together the past circles led to denounce it and to you know to we but what I'm saying and take every point that I'm making go to the scriptures and disprove it but he doesn't know that things don't like to take the same Bible and prove everything that I'm saying cuz the Bible contradicts itself repeatedly the Bible is not in error it is not infallible anybody who tells you that hasn't read it completely through I'm not being unkind and I don't mean to sound sacrilegious but I can say these things now because I don't particularly that's gonna determine the African American College of Bishops or whatever that group was there they in there when they took their throw to call me a heretic you know I can wear that if I want to I'm a card character can they do nothing else to me okay no Bohr is gonna come and take my papers of my credentials so I'm free to say stuff and I people that love me and listen to me and some support and I hope you'll support what we're doing there's a little gift button there we don't often ask and I haven't asked but when I started people are starting to give an I appreciate every single one of you we've supported ourselves through this I don't have the regular income that I had back in the day you know I have to do this and I travel them for each and I speak I really I said I haven't missed much of a beat people who have a few people have reached out to help us not large numbers like once did but everyone's no one will get a real huge gift and that'll carry us for a while it's amazing where we're now having new staff a whole new social media group so people are helping us with technology because we're gonna make this global our responses have been from from England from Israel from Pakistan and India all the way to Japan way up in Alaska and all countries in Europe there's a huge hunger and interest in to come Monday dot org ideology of what happens between some Sunday the sun is shining everybody's in church who wants to go there's a different kind of energy you see more clearly Monday is named after the moon just like sunday is named after the Sun Moon day and there's a little orbit that the little planet that shines at night and gives you the night like night light is never as bright as daylight you're not supposed to see us clearly at night as you do in the day we add light but sometimes you don't feel quite you don't have to fight the club you don't pen you're not supposed to have the high definition at night time we want to be there for you offering positive powerful alternatives when you can't see as well or the vision is not as clear and you don't have quite the precision sorry to make quite the decision or the incision it's hard to cut it to pattern when you can't see as well the rubber meets the road on Monday differently than it does on Sunday in in general that's a generalization of course now the Jesus Seminar is writing about that will become Sunday I know this is a brief excerpt I'm going to read from the author here Alex Wagner this just came out on April 24 this year come some be produced by Ira Glass with this American Life and Netflix is the true story of a successful preacher evangelist in revivals Coughlin Pearson he led a mega church in Oklahoma founder on fundamentalism event angelical teachings but came to the conclusion in the early 2000s that hell is not real and began preaching universal salvation the movie chronicles this huge sea change of recording exactly from the writing of this gentleman its effects on his livelihood and the charges of heresy brought against him who else have you heard that official charges of heresy were brought against the Paul says that his teachings were considered heretical he says that in that's the only time the word is there hurry Asus I think it is a Greece it just means opinion or choice out of the mainstream flow what struck me this writer says was an interview portrayed in the movie where minister in a minister in san francisco state that the position of universal salvation is nothing new fact i'll tell you that for the first 500 years of Christian history the early church fathers from Greg Lee of Mesa too Clement of Alexandria Origen those guys would call the church fathers all believe that the finished work of the cross or of the Christ redeemed all of humankind to God and the good news was that they didn't that that was true and they didn't know it you're already saved you just don't know what saved by God from God you know I even had some questions about that kind of theology I mean time i got anyway as a christian for point of view it was it begin to change when the church moved from the east to to rome to the west to europe some people think that going into all the world and preach the gospel was spoken by king james rather than king jesus they get a mixed up when jesus said that i don't think he knew or anybody else knew that that britain or europe because this is the way it goes there were no Maps quite exactly then there was no aerial stage i mean nobody was flying around you know taking pictures of comments and stuff like that so the world is different we think the King James Version is the most accurate it actually is one of the most inactive translations of scripture I heard that when I first went to school to go are you I was so upset with print for the professor dr. Rory Hayden who said it till I called my mom after I got out of class and I wrote a letter the whole Robert said they should fire him because he said that the King James Version is inaccurate and when you say King James Version I saw my mom a dad their parents their parents every church service I've ever been dude everything that was holy and sacred and culturally sentimental to me was being assaulted this guy you know the King James Version wasn't right so I've been to a lot of evolution and revolution and in Volusia in my soul and I'm proud of all that this way this guy says but what's new is that someone like Pearson he's actually quoting the event from the bishop event planner who I was with two weeks ago in Oakland California to do a screening of the movie he's portrayed in the movie as a lesbian Bishop has a church called a House of Refuge and her mother was a bishops dollar in the Church of God in Christ and her saw her husband pastors in Bishop well the Lanson came to me when I was preaching a theme of Cathedral for praise in San Jose California came to me after service that night and said I want you to meet my daughter she's in temperature Clemens and she just said why don't you meet my daughter she has a great ministry example let's go at that time she helps women who are abused at home HIV positive people and it was very beautifully presented she never mentioned her sexuality now she's a kojic woman Church of God in Christ all runs to help type woman and teaching so but she accepted her what her wife's her daughter's ministry burned hardly so I became friends of her to make a longer story short she is the one that washed my feet after I had been excommunicated the left finger fundamentals been accosted group and I preached there and that's when she said when you finish they should walk down the aisle and let us love on and I walked very emotional there was a scene in the movie but they didn't put in there at the restaurant around agenda there's a very powerful personal scene way to walk down to that crime no Christians really had embraced me or touched me or love me I was pariah I was a demon I was the entire false prophet I was a devil and so they could barely look at me but this group just held some of them were dying of AIDS and I can tell her some of them you would never know that they were sick or game they just were hugging me and was a powerful it's like angels handling me when I turned around on the back to the front she was down on her knees below warm fat and water in it and she asked me to take my my shoes and socks off and she washed my feet she liked baptized me into inclusion you bet funded this should be of that Flender she's a powerful speaker all over the country now she's a theologian and a scholar she professor adjunct professor said several from Union to to the Pacific Theological Seminary in the California anyway she was the one that's portrayed in the movie as saying that Universal salvation isn't new but what's new that someone like Pearson is proclaiming it in his conduct now I didn't know her at the time but she was she didn't like me at all she said I hadn't that five minutes per person and now that shocked me because everybody I knew liked me I'm used to people not liking me now but I wasn't in those things in general you know I was doing good and then I start preaching inclusion and I started I wasn't doing that I was just treated that way by people why I thought loved me and that was a glimpse to me that a little bit of experience of what marginalization really feels like for people to stop liking you and no stop lovingly they just stop liking me they didn't turn against me they just turned away from me about the thousands you know it's going from hero to zero seemingly within hours it was you know a few years altogether but I was shipping anyway this writer refers to then I thought it was very powerful and I'm so very close to the ship remember I was there part of her consecration to the mission but she wasn't a vision when I met her we officially made her the college admissions that consecrated to the an elevator the office of the Episcopal leader of the Episcopal CFP / school / citizen anyway the movie this gentleman says is stop is a thoughtful compelling and painful meditation on the pitfalls of biblical literalism that's remember that term and religious tribalism biblical literalism and religious tribalism the literalist worldview sets up a system or often no threads can be pulled for fear of the whole system unraveling the literalists hold the scripture actually says the letters where we get the word literal the literal or natural tear killers spirit gives life people who literally translate the Scriptures tend to be murderers or killers because it's very confusing the Bible is as I said not in it's full of fallacies and repetitions and reiterations and there's I could go through a whole list of inconsistencies in the Bible because it was written by men and most people call it the inspired Word of God I don't believe this the inspired Word of God I think it might be the inspired Word of men the women men about God how can the finite being really capture infinite supreme intelligence how can we find out people really get a grasp on who God really is I haven't say I know God I don't really know God other than knowing me I think the closest of knowing God you'll ever get is knowing yourself the God in you God as you the infinite being that you are the bridge in your humanity to your divinity that's a term that I like to use I've never heard it before read anywhere but I believe that there's a possibility of bridging my humanity to my divinity they actually live in the same residence and they're not enemies of each other they help define and refine each other the partners the friends so a science and spirituality they don't oppose one another science is a version of spirituality and spirituality is not without knowledge and that's what science really means conscience con science gone is the Latin word for with conciencia with cn with knowledge with knowledge not just with faith we emphasize faith religiously but when you are spiritual progressive you emphasize knowing yourself the guardian you the God with you the God for you to you through you and as you oh my I'm about to do my old Pentecostal quickening a glow wreck I felt that we are gods I see you Jesus wants his referred a recording scripture of saying to the premises that you will is it not written in your loss he's quoting David that ye are gods with a little G the you are deities and entities and spiritual energy that you are ethereal extraterrestrials your aliens the old song reasoning this this world is not my home I'm just passing through treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the Angels beckoned me from heavens open door and I don't feel at home this world anymore we had who wrote that song lose the thing that I know are you if there were election of singers unlike some of the old lyrics I remember my tradition didn't really know the verses too many songs just the the choruses I came down here and I started learning the verses and I think the people who write religious music and some secular music is actually really just when you read the words of some of the Beatles songs the lyrics of some of the things that Michael Jackson wrote I was forbidden from listening to any court of secular music if it is the habit of secular people presumably to desecrate what is holy it will be the same habit of holy people to consecrate what is secular and defined a certain divinity in all things to the pure all things are pure according Scripture so in Kirsten's case the writer says he faced criticism because he believed hell is not real then everything he believed must be fraudulent too so I said well if you don't believe in Hell Bishop do you believe in heaven I say everything is consciousness and everything is imaginary everything outside of this realm it's all fantasy we don't really know what happened before and what will happen afterward we have ideas and conjectures and holes I kind of sense in my soul and my soul and my cells doctor was also I was talking to a cardiologist last weekend in California and he was telling me that cells have memory cells have mines cells are intelligent and have intelligence so Lugar muscles so does your sold the word is nephesh in hebrew means the animal sentient the animated you and in greek it's the word net sookay we're giving each for its psyche psyche thought the seeded reflective conscious your mind your soul your spirit your essence when I say your essential you gonna mean that the permanent rather than the accidental you the immediate immortal immeasurable immutable immeasurable you the part that cannot be contained constrained by the confine by the flesh or by religion the real you the authentic original idea that spawned and sponsored through existence on this plane net or plane of consciousness the language is a little bit different for you you may call it new-age help yourself this is a new each even Jesus said lo I'm with you always even to the end of the age some translations must interpret that Greek word for cosmos world it's the word AE on where we get the news 40 on the eons of time age with you to the end of it you know it we may be coming to the end of that age and into a new age that some people call post Christian age not post Christ there's always been a Christ presence on the planet before Jesus ever walked it there's always been a scent principle or person or personification in the earth since humans existed on this planet and even if they existed living intelligent beings on other planets we don't know that only speculate that because the galaxies in the universes are so there billions literally billions of galaxies now they're finally what they call black holes which are infinite nobody knows where they go to but inside those are so many things I mean if in these they're so very possibly since Earth is such a small planet in the in the full galaxies of planets there could be intelligent life on other planets that doesn't bother me now your question is do they need say them hmm are they going to hell you know those are really superficial faults that whole consciousness is man-made it's fear-based it's fear born and I denounced it as inaccurate and something that's not really working for us anymore I don't know that it really ever really did work for it look at the planet look at the world where there's root our excuse me where there's fruit there's rules look at the Western world America I have the motto In God We Trust but I think we should so we substituted for with guns we trust we have the largest prison population in the civilized world so one of the highest crime rates multiples of every other the ten highest crime ridden countries on the planet we're way ahead of all of them where churches on every corner and steeples and and denominations thousands of them and conventions and and and and denominations or excuse me conferences and and organizations and institutions and moral codes and doctrines and dogma and look at the lawlessness and the arrogance and the impoverishment of the culture that's what Billy Graham was referring to when he said I think the world is worse than it was when I started one of the things he also said is I think I need to probably stop trying to convert so many people and just try to convince people you can't convert people that you haven't convinced convince them of what that they're loved that they're good that there's no talking Christian Lingle that there's no issue between them and God that hasn't already been resolved by Jesus or other cross or by either Christ if you believe in world Redemption what redemptive virtue or value do you find entity eternal torture chamber a customized torture chamber where billions of people are assigned there by God forever while mercy endures forever how could Mercy in Dover ever and torment endure forever one cancel out the other I know I say that but I want you to read the rethinking in Pearson's case he faced criticism because he believed hell is not real then everything he believed must also be project literalism provides very little daylight between these two options and certainly isn't helpful in providing a framework to explore the nuances of a question or even raise the possibility that what you believe or we believe might not be true that has been the most rude and liberating awakening a recognition of my in tire of 65 years on the planet am i in mourning yes I'm mourning the death of the old angry fresh fractious jealous vengeful paranoid God the one with serious anger-management issues who would even dream up something as hateful as eternal dam doomed condemnation what God except a demon or devil would come up with torturing billions of people forever that's not punishment or justice that's hatred we need to face it we need to stop playing these can't we got that wrong and because we've allowed that mentality to pervade our culture it has made us all paranoid made us psychotic we're struggling with some kind of mental illness and it needs to be discussed I'm glad that the Jesus seminars are discussing it many seminaries are many churches are and many groups are watch the movie look at it as many times as you need to send me questions we're gonna be taking questions here live at in the future we're gonna really expand everything that we're doing here in our Sunday night eventually we'll have seminars around the country webinars we're gonna do cruises we're gonna us tonight I have four free gifts there for you there's lots of information Instagram is changing all of our sites are changing and being renovated and innovative less religious you don't even have to call me Misha because a lot of people just told me or son of a bishop anyway they don't you know one Esfahani I think what your calling is what your respond to it right what you answered it so I'm so detached from titles and that kind of a thing it's all right if you call me Bishop Woodrum the most affectionate term people used for me many Tulsans call me passed across that's uh that's a loving term and that's a different kind of intimacy that the people who call me master the most don't handle the bishop and you know some people don't excellent don't call me of a sorry Bishop I'm not stuck to that title I really not you can call me Carlton my mother doesn't like him hey she want you to call me pastor of Reverend but I'm not really into that at all I just I mean and I love being me and I power to destroy you if you are afraid of debt then you have faith in the power of debt to destroy you so it shift the energy around and make it what you want it to be come Mundy is the movie come Sunday is the movement I'm bringing this to a close there's so much more I never get to go through all my I ride everything because everything is gonna be in a book at some point so I write everything
