game time on the field hot start for the wildcats and then mississippi valley took over for a majority of the middle part of the first half and then the wildcats found their groove and found the hands of kamari averett yeah they really they really got it going right there at the end of the half and uh we're going to see it we're going to see a lot more of kamari everett here in the second half as we mentioned it is delta devil ball they'll corral the kickoff and run it all the way out to the 20-yard the line down in 10 for the delta devils wearing their rode silver gray uniforms green helmets and accents across the body bethune cookman in their home burgundy uniforms with the golden accents and chrome bright helmets the delta devils will be attacking towards the east end zone towards the new scoreboard for this third quarter coming out on the field grad student quarterback jalani eason out for the delta devils trying to get back in this game they trail 7-14 after giving up a late touchdown to the wildcats in a two-point conversion to make it a seven-point lead eason will hang on to the snap fakes the handoff gains two yards and flushed back behind the line of scrimmage it'll be second and eight if i'm this the theme cookman defense i'm really feeling great coming out of the com coming out of that halftime i mean you take the lead going into the half and then you're just you really ended on a high note and you're going to come out the second half and really just play with your hair on fire for the most part and this is a delta devil team that handled the ball for 14 minutes and 28 seconds as eason gets the handoff to caleb johnson for another short gain third down and about six coming up for the delta devils 14 minutes and 28 seconds of possession time for the delta devils only seven minutes and eight seconds for the wildcats but they're taking advantage of the opportunities given to them yeah if i'm if i'm mississippi valley state i'm really going to keep to be a rainy saturday evening but the clock the clouds have cleared away and it is nothing but clear blue skies here and beautiful temperatures as the sun starts to set here in central florida i mean it is just a beautiful saturday afternoon 14 to 10 excuse me 14 to 7 is the lead and we're gonna have lots of miscommunication and a false start against mississippi valley state we do have early we are towards the start of quarter number three to seven is the lead for the wildcats here on homecoming saturday second down and 15. for mississippi valley state they've had the ball the entirety at the start of this third quarter and this pass goes down the left sideline out of bounds it'll be third down and long yeah it looks like they're going to start throwing it down the middle and further running game was going to be the efficient part of the delta devils offense and they lead that category 60 to 25 but it is the quarterback for bethune cookman devin black making a name for himself here today yeah i mean he's really been putting it on uh number one kamari avery i mean six six two two sixty i mean he's just a man among boys like i said before earlier in the broadcast and over there at the end of the half you saw him in the end zone it was either they played it safe and they got the field goal or they took a chance and they they went for it and with 30 seconds left they got they got the score and they took the lead going into halftime it was really a big momentum booster third down and 12 for mississippi valley state in offensive territory at about the 45-yard line eason flushed all the way back to his own 35 well out of the pocket fights for extra yardage he's got an opportunity for a first down and more he ran a mile to get that first down and he got it by two yards i mean my goodness he reversed field reverse sides twice he was going towards the home ends her home sideline then he went towards the away sideline and then he just went north and south he ended up getting the first down it was about a 30-yard run but for probably a 12-yard game jalani eason started that at the line of scrimmage at the 45 he was flushed back to his own 30-yard line and he got the ball all the way to bethune cookman's 31-yard line for a first down unbelievable and he'll take the shotgun snap looks left looks right and he's sacked in the backfield second down and 15 coming up for the delta devils yeah that was that right tackle number 70 joshua taylor letting the defensive end come up come out of out of containment and um it just ended up in a sack and ended up getting him on the back side let me bring number 35 out big tight end and again just three burgundy jerseys piling on top of jelani eason for that sack second and 15 for mississippi valley state caleb johnson in the backfield with jelani easton taking the snap this one pass is caught behind the line of scrimmage and another tackle for a loss by the wildcat defense third down and long for mississippi valley state there's a screenplay right there in the number three and on screenplays you want to you want to block for a good second or two and then you want to release and go to linebacker so it throws the defensive line off right there it was just way too quick for the offensive line to get to that second level to throw the defensive line off so it was a great job by the defensive line sitting back insane on their heels and ready for that straight pass to come in again third quarter 14-7 lead for the wildcats third and long for the dealt to devils decent flushed out of the pocket taken down from behind the third consecutive tackle for a loss by a wildcat defender and it is fourth and a mile and the punt team will come out for the delta devils a big stand-up defensive play for bethune cookman yeah that that mississippi valley offensive line just fell apart right there it ended up getting bringing more bringing more pressure on the defensive side of the ball and ended up getting two sacks in that one possession and those three consecutive tackles for a loss not only brings out the punt team just to punt it away on the fourth down but it means that the field goal unit can't come out to try to get three points on the board excellent job all the way around by the wildcat defense this is a high spiraling punt the fair catch is called for at the 15 yard line and bethune cookman after a long time waiting on the sidelines they will finally get their offense out for the first time in this third quarter a 14-7 lead here eight minutes in the game looking for their first win of the season yeah nick right here you really want to focus on number three direction eight minutes to the third quarter number one in the third floor absolute unit coming into that uh coming into the halftime and uh we'll see a lot of him in the second half he's gonna be out here on the left on the left side on the home sideline and single coverage again we'll see if they play zone or man them up devin black sends jimmy robinson in motion he'll hang on to it throws it to the right side a couple of blocks and here go from the wildcats to a first down it'll be first down in 10 from the 25-yard line officials timeout for an injury i think they should keep him in single coverage and really i think that's going to be their best bet because his two big plays are when he's in when he's been manned up on a on a corner that he probably has five six inches on and with a mississippi valley state delta devil down step aside real quick with a 14-7 lead for the bethune-cookman wildcats uh so with the scoreboard back up and running seven minutes and 45 seconds remaining here in quarter number three a 14 to seven lead for bethune cookman as andrew bloodsaw junior was helped off the field and the handoff for the wildcats on first and ten here's a good run out for a nine yard gain excellent footwork from i believe that's quiche on bird yeah we really haven't seen a big running play by bethune cookman i mean they really gotta they really gotta open up that hole or either that or he can really just get out wide and break it open jimmy robinson rather on that nine yard run and he'll move to the right pocket of devin black black to the right side a little bit of a screen pass move to the left sideline here's queichon berg showing his speed down the left sideline kweishan bird makes it to offensive territory and thrown out of out of bounds at the 47-yard line here we go the wildcats showing off their athleticism a little bit i mean eason in that last possession just flip feels about six times he flipped field once and that's all he needed to get to break it open on that big run officials time out for an injury there is another delta devil down once again with 6 41 left here in the third quarter a 14 to seven lead zach we're already halfway through this third quarter this is bethune's first offensive presence in this quarter with how much time the delta devils took off the clock and now allowing bethune cookman an opportunity to kill some more time yeah they've really been in the air a lot for this game and we we kind of said it in the at the top of the broadcast mississippi valley state was going to run the ball a lot with uh caleb johnson and uh i mean you can see number one uh he's just been going downfield and they've been throwing it up to him and i mean they they've really been in the air a lot on the offensive side of the ball and that's really why they haven't really had a lot of possession because they haven't really caught a lot of passes but i mean the passes they have caught have really have really been the bigger plays so i think they need to stay in the air in mississippi valley probably need to stay on the ground and keep that ball as much as they can if they want to get the lead before going into the fourth quarter dion reed will make his way off the field for mississippi valley state linebacker helped off after the injury timeout first down in 10 in offensive territory for the wildcats from the 47-yard line of the delta devils black sends robinson to the left side stepping back in the pocket sends one to the near side for kamari everett tipped up in the air good defensive effort from kenneth martin as that one was under thrown by devin black second down in 10. first time they throw it to amari everett and it's on the three receiver side but there was single coverage up top i think he could have had a chance right there if you were to let him break free but uh you really gotta you really gotta start throwing it over the middle especially to number one and um yeah just keep throwing it over the middle keep throwing the deep ball just keep keep throwing it in general really second down in ten nine seconds left on the play clock three receivers to the right kamari avert the lone receiver to the left black from the shotgun with robinson to his left the handoff to robinson he'll move to the right sideline a stiff arm gets him some extra room and he'll pick up three yards on the play lost his footing a little bit right there i think if he would have kept his footing that probably would have been a first down and maybe even more because i mean he had the outside there and there was nobody there for about five yards to catch him so that was a marshon lynch-esque stiff arm there to send the defender down to the turf with authority i mean would you dare say derrick henry stiff arm potentially that was emphatic for jimmy robinson third down and seven under six minutes remaining here in the third quarter wildcats working on a 14-7 lead delta devils come with a full rush devin black deals with it well out to the near side overthrows the intended receiver of daryl powell and it will bring up fourth down and there we see a good look at the pride the bcu marching band with a spectacular halftime performance just a few moments ago as they start to see themselves on the brand new video board we see them acknowledging what a beautiful video board that is by the way i mean it's brand new literally just came in a couple days ago had some technical difficulties with it but i mean it's still even even if it's not working it's still it still looks amazing and the wildcats are gonna send this one away with the punt team just at about their own 45-yard line this is a high spiraling punt this is a beautiful punt but it just bounces into the end zone a bad bounce yeah like you said like you said earlier even with those spiral spiraling points and going the wrong way [Music] and the new mason hall 92 judas mackenzie in 44 marcus reeves i mean they've really been holding it down when it comes to pass rush short yardage runs four and a half remaining in quarter number three 15 seconds on the play clock third and two the delta devils 28-yard line eason from the shotgun the handoff to johnson he'll dive one yard past the first down marker first down and 10 from the 31-yard line for the delta devils yeah i mean like the the defensive line really isn't giving up much when it comes to the run game i know they just got a first down but it was it was a 32 it was two yards to get to the first down market the delta devils from the 31. jelani eason he'll throw this one to the left sideline spinning off a couple of tackles and diving for the first down did he get there no he's one yard short second and a little bit of one here quarterback trying to hurry him up eason with options to the right and left of him he'll go for the handoff johnson he's going to cut right through the center logo and be taken down right at the 50-yard line one of the biggest runs by the running back group this game for mississippi valley and i think if they need they need to keep it on the ground here because they haven't really shown much in the past right at midfield easton again the handoff to johnson we mentioned him at the top of the broadcast gonna have a big game and he's finally showing out here in the second half that's two straight first down runs for the running back clock runs with 245 left in quarter number three delta devils down by a single score 7 to 14. now eason if it works don't mess with it as eason will hand it off again to caleb johnson he'll be snuffed out after a five-yard run so far johnson only has 17 yards but they've been giving it to they've been spreading the love around a lot this one is going to be held by eason back behind the line of scrimmage he'll dive to get back for no game the slide started right at the line of scrimmage so that is where they will spot him down it'll be third down and six 150 remaining in quarter number three a fast moving third quarter because of the run game in the time of possession held by the delta devils caleb johnson comes out he'll be replaced by dadarian williams in the backfield jelani eason in the shotgun he'll hang on to it drops back in the pocket looks left the pass is completed right at the first down marker it is called a completed catch we'll see where they spot him it'll be one yard shy of the first down marker so fourth and one and down by seven this will be four down territory fourth and one mississippi valley state's gonna go for it wildcat sideline getting a little bit excited trying to get the fans excited here the handoff to darien williams gets there with ease and he'll pick up an extra three yards first and ten from the 26 yard line final minute of quarter number three a couple of more substitutions for the mississippi valley state delta devils on the o line you know the wildcats bring in a couple players from the sideline the official letting everybody get under control with 13 seconds left on the play clock here we go the snap to eason the handoff to williams he'll go right through the blocks and pick up about five yards he fought for the extra three on that play absolutely he tried to he tried to bounce it outside a little bit and he was like you know what no i'm gonna i'm gonna be a big boy and i'm gonna put it up in the middle i've got about four or five yards on that play officials time out for an injury and we'll stop the clock with one of the mississippi valley state players down he'll get back up and get back in the play but the injury timeout had already been called so this will be essentially a free timeout for both of these teams a lot of injuries oh no one has scored yet in this third quarter the 14-7 lead for the wildcats carries over from the first half this is only the second offensive possession for mississippi valley state they have controlled the ball this entire third quarter the wildcats have only had one offensive possession and this is a long one here that turns into a second and three from the 19 yard line the clock will continue to bleed down eason with the handoff williams goes around the block he's got room down the right sideline forced out of bounds at the last second and that will take us to the end of quarter number three and it looks like there may be a flag on the play once again head official jarvis walker defense number 95 the penalty would be enforced half the distance to the goal first down so first down on a holding penalty against the wildcats the quarter will be extended to one on time down to the play so essentially inside the one yard line on a first and goal i think they get a free play because of the penalty yup so we'll have one more play with zero seconds left in the third quarter now the officials are actually going to have a discussion as to whether or not we'll have that free play now or if we'll start it at the fourth quarter i think mississippi valley really needs to keep it on the ground right here they've been 95 percent run pretty much this entire time and uh that's mainly why they've with you cookman has only had one possession this entire quarter i mean they want to keep it out of number one's hands and they just they just want to keep it going and we are going to have that free play so with zero seconds left in the third quarter first and goal from the one-yard line and the wildcat defense stand up at the goal line and the delta devils are short of the goal line it'll be second down and goal at the start of the fourth quarter that's the end of the third quarter so a 14-7 lead for the wildcats they hang on but on the second offensive drive of the delta devils here in the second half they are threatening to get on the scoreboard inside the one-yard line two blades of turf short of the goal line will flip sides head toward the west end zone into the sun setting and i don't know if anyone else in the country has ever assembled a football crew quite like ours but it's a mixture of students and teachers from area high schools colleges and universities seabreeze high school daytona state college bethune cookman university and full sail university and get a look at all of our wonderful crew manning the game tonight on homecoming for the with cooking wildcats here at daytona stadium yeah i'm a part of that cruise for today actually and um i'm from wholesale i'm in the damp school sports casting and uh it's a really great program it false start number one offense five yard penalty remains second down instead of third down and one it's gonna be third down and six so now potentially devin black is gonna be forced to go through the air instead of giving it into the hands of pueshawn bird everett moves to the left side of the line of scrimmage two options to the either to either side of devon black bird in the backfield black hangs on to it looks left all the way down kamari everett is missed incomplete and it'll be fourth down and six just a little bit overthrown there to kamari everett it's it really if he should have if he could have thrown it a little bit higher i think he could have found the high point of that ball with his 6'6 frame and that would have been a big play really big momentum booster and the punt unit is going to come out on the field for bethune cookman so a short offensive presence at the start of this fourth quarter in the delta devils after tying the game at 14 they'll get possession back now we have a little bit of sun setting in the eyes of the delta devil jarius clayton this one sent through the air the fair catch will be waived for and caught at about the 13-yard line so potential for territory one man goes in motion all the way out of the pocket to the right sideline a late throw goes out of bounds and a heavy collision will throw jelani easton out of bounds i don't see a flag for a roughing the passer so a good hit on the defensive side of the ball for the wildcats it'll be second down and 10 after the incomplete pass they really got to be careful right there with those late pass those light hits on the quarterback that's gonna that's gonna really hurt that defense right now bethune cookman with five penalties for 45 yards mississippi valley state only with two penalties for 10 yards says our live scoring two minutes into this fourth quarter eason he'll hang on to it goes right down the middle the helmet pops off and he'll be peeled off the turf after gaining the first down on a good run and i believe because his helmet popped off he's going to be forced out for this next play so connor regan is going to have to come in for at least one snap here so expect to run into the hands of dadarian williams on the first down in 10. there is the handoff to williams he's got tons of space down the near side forced out at about the 38-yard line close to the first down and it looks like they're gonna give it to him just keep the ball on the ground and keep your offense going down the field and potentially even maybe even get three points out of it here comes jelani eason back into the play after getting his helmet knocked off on the previous run so a good one snap drive for connor regan into the hands of dadarian williams and a first down run first and ten here's williams again hit right as he crossed the line of scrimmage it'll be a two-yard gain second and eight look at the big fella just coming in there and causing havoc up up there at the nose guard position right there on that center we're on the guard i'm sorry darion williams goes to the sideline replaced by caleb johnson in the backfield two options to the right of eason one to the left with the handoff caleb johnson unable to get the spin move to work so he's only able to pick up about three yards on the play it'll be third down and five delta devils still in their own half of the field at their own 44-yard line a running clock with 11 15 left in the fourth quarter tied at 14. his defense really needs to he really needs to fight back on that run game wildcats are going to come with a full-on blitz and a missed snap turns into a heavy sack it looks like the officials are going to spot everybody down at the 39-yard line even though jelani eason was taken down well behind the play i guess they're saying he turned into a runner and his forward momentum and forward progress was stopped at the 39-yard line instead of a quarterback sack wants to replay here progress definitely stopped after about four or five of the defensive lineman came and just absolutely trampled only four so fourth down again forces a punt this one goes all the way to about the 10-yard line of the wildcats that's handled ran to the right sideline and taken down at the five yard line officially at the six so an excellent punt from orlando fernandez and the wildcats are going to have to start deep in their own half yeah they're really going to have to start running the ball here and just get out of there out of out of the end zone really because if you take a sack back here you're in deep trouble so with 10 minutes and 11 seconds left in quarter number four a 14 to 14 game on homecoming delta devils looking for their second win in a row wildcats looking for their first win of the season out of the west end zone devin black in the shotgun clayshawn byrd in the backfield with him one man goes in motion to the right and the pitch to quash shawn bird he's got a little bit of running room gains a couple of extra needed yards out to about the nine yard line officially spotted at the 10. a good four-yard run yeah you really need to get out of this end zone here so you can have some breathing room when it comes to throwing the ball and that's been their bread and butter for pretty much this entire game i mean for pretty much all almost all of the second half number one's been sitting out here on on the bottom of your screen and it's been in single coverage running clock 9 40 left second down in about six again one man goes in motion to the right devin black looks to the left this one will be picked off by mississippi valley state at the 14-yard line kamari everett the intended target and that is a massive misfire from devin black 9 23 left in quarter number four and it's a turnover the interception will only fail his interception territory by the defense for that one throw tomorrow or average and it came back to bite him after two big 50 yard plus bombs going to number one they finally they finally pick it off from him and uh now they're now they're deep in the wildcat territory and looking to knock on the door to even extend their lead to 21 or possibly 17 here and again with the end zone that kamari everett was facing to turn around and try to catch that pass facing the west you gotta wonder if the setting sun had any issues with kamari everett trying to see that pass as it was a little bit behind him now here's the delta devils forcing the entry towards the goal line did he get there the pylon has been knocked over and they call it a touchdown all it took was one play for mississippi valley state to get into the end zone after the interception 20 to 14 with the extra point on the way and it's their second lead of the day i mean this mississippi valley off of the line has just been putting in work and this running back group they've been all splitting carries and they've been they've been fresh when it comes to splitting carries and on the especially on these long drives and that eventually led to them getting two touchdowns here in the second half here is orlando fernandez with the 20-yard p-a-t a bad snap and a bad hold and the delta devils are forced to just pounce on it and be down all the way back at the 16 yard line so there is no point after so it's only a six point lead so potential for a touchdown and a p-a-t to get the wildcats in the lead with nine minutes and 14 seconds left here in the fourth quarter now if you remember the kicker for the wildcats has yet to make a single kick so correct it was a missed field goal and a p-a-t that went off the left upright and then a two-point conversion after a touchdown to allow the wildcats back to that 14-point total so that is where we stand right now 20 to 14 as the sun starts to set out of the west end zone just behind high school municipal stadium a beautiful shot the sun goes back behind those tall trees 19-14 left in the fourth quarter as the pride their offense really needs to come in here fernandez sends this line drive bouncing at the 20-yard line handled at the 14. run right up the gut and finally take it down at the 33-yard line i think he has a little bit more breathing room here going to be right past 35. uh knocking on the uh i really think [Music] correct they only had one offensive presence one offensive possession rather in the third quarter and then their second offensive possession of the half at the start of the fourth quarter turned into an interception so devin black will send this one to the left sideline a little stutter step in a five yard gain on the play second and five upcoming so this is only the third offensive possession for the wildcats in this second half so they've got to make something of it and that's partially why this homecoming crowd is in their seats and kind of out of it because they haven't had a whole lot to cheer for out of the offensive side of the ball yeah they really haven't gotten much into a rhythm here because they i mean mississippi valley has been running the ball they've been running the clock out so i mean that's how you that's how you keep the ball out of the other team's hands if you just run the ball and keep moving down the field with a purpose three options to the right one options to the one option to the left of devin black queijon byrd goes out from behind his quarterback gets the pass behind the line of scrimmage fights for the first down gets the extra yardage into offensive territory taken down at the 44-yard line i mean that was a great block by number one right there and i mean it was a great great run by the running back and here's some tempo from the wildcats offensively two options either side of devon black and the shotgun the hand off and here comes question bird right through the middle a first down run and he wants more inside the 20 taken down at the 17-yard line quest back-to-back first down that is the biggest offensive and now the crowd is back into it and the wildcats feel it they're down by six so a touchdown and a p-a-t would give him a one-point lead seven and a half left in quarter number four nick they're smelling the barbecue they're getting excited i feel it black with the hand off snuffed out right at the line of scrimmage no yards gained on the run as jimmy robinson heard after a couple of stellar two plays clock runs to under seven minutes remaining 20 to 14 is the lead four for mississippi valley state second and ten robinson in motion he'll take the pitch from black to the left side he's got blockers he's gonna go down the left sideline can he stay on his feet he does touchdown wildcats what a beautiful play i mean that's how you that's how you do it when it comes to running plays you really just have to read your offensive line and if they're pulling around it those are big dudes those are 300 plus pound dudes i mean they don't like running like that so you gotta you gotta reward them with the touchdown after that one well we were gonna take a second look at this i guess they're saying that jimmy robinson stepped out of bounds at the four yard line so we stay 14 to 20. the initial signal from the referee was a touchdown but they bring it back to the four yard line for a first and goal i think what you need to do is you need to put that wing back on the left side of the field where it where it's on that tight side and then come back to this left side wildcats get to snap off in time robinson runs it inside the two yard line down right there second down and goal we'll take a second look at this run from jimmy robinson here he had blockers down the left sideline and he did step out of bounds just before he made it to the goal line so by the officials right there opposite side of our broadcast position just a couple of blades of grass out of bounds so second and goal from the three yard line five and a half left in quarter four wildcats down by six here on homecoming night devin black over the middle into the hands of kamari everett and he couldn't bring it in third down coming up i mean that couldn't have been more perfect he had it in his hands i think the db tipped it a little bit but i mean he it was right there and there was nobody on him i think they need to put him back at tight end again and score like they did the last time the previous time and i mean nobody on him nick with 17 seconds left on the play clock devin black looking over to his sidelines get the play call only five seconds left on the play clock they got to get the snap underway or take the time out and they will take the time out it looks like too much time looking over at the sidelines in the wildcats second charge 30 second timeout called by the offense 5 17 left in quarter number four 20 to 14 is the lead take one more look at that impressive run from jimmy robinson there's been a feed all day for both i'm teams they didn't take a second look at that so it will be third down and goal from the three yard line wildcats [Music] a delay of game penalty the wildcats need to keep it on the ground right here they've been they have mississippi valley on their on their heels and when you're backed up in your own end zone it's not a good feeling so i think you need to keep it on the ground and just punch it in kamari avert the lone wideout to the left in man on man coverage if kweishan bird does not get the handoff look for him devin black third and goal from the four yard line one man in motion black hangs onto it rolls out to the right quays sean byrd is open on the near side and devin black misses him on the back shoulder pass i think this is four down territory right here nick you've you gotta go for this you gotta even if it's a turnover they're backed up into their own endzone the defense could potentially get a turnover and you can have it right back but i think you need to go for this right terry sims agrees with you this could potentially be the play of the game with the way mississippi valley state has controlled the time of possession 5 12 left in quarter number four a six-point deficit fourth in goal from the three-yard line queichon bird in the backfield kamari avert the tight end on the line of scrimmage and we have a flag on the play a delay of game before the penalty timeout called by the offense that is the last 30-second timeout of this half cookman gets the timeout before the delay of gain penalty so it will be their third and final timeout again with five minutes and 12 seconds remaining here in this fourth quarter 20 to 14 after a botched p-a-t on the most recent touchdown from mississippi valley state that's been a theme with the kickers here today pickers fourth down at the three yard line fourth keep in mind they have number three and number one and here both six devin black in the shotgun he'll take the snap rolls out to the right he's got a running lane to the end zone a stunner step he tries to cut right down field and he stops short at the one-yard line mississippi valley state takes over on downs at their own one-yard line i know the defense is excited but you really got to focus right here on offense you really got to get out of this end zone and run the ball and try and try and get some breathing room for your offense so you can run the ball and try and run this clock out to see the win 505 remaining in this fourth quarter still plenty of times [Music] just to the west of the stadium that is where the delta devils will try to run towards the west end zone out of their east end zone eason with a pass up the near side excellent defensive coverage it'll be second down and 10 from the one-yard line there is a flag the defense was in the nutri zone at the time of the snap five yard penalty still first down the defense is lucky that he didn't look to his right because he had he had that single receiver on the right side wide open at the bottom of your screen and it is going to be a flag against bethune cookman so it's going to be first down in five a free five yards at the wildcats cannot give up in a scenario eason with the hand off the wildcat defense snuff it out no gain on the play second down and five jalani eason and dadarian williams teaming up for that handoff a run for no gain this is where the delta devils are going to be more than willing to utilize all the time on the play clock and just control the time of possession 15 seconds left on the play clock and the clock runs under under four and a half minutes jalani eason and the shotgun catches the snap at the one yard line he'll hang on to it walks the goal line cuts right through middle and he's got nothing but green grass in front of him but a good defensive recovery by the wildcats and jelani easton runs it all the way out to the 38-yard line that is not what you want to happen when you're on the defensive side of the ball when they break a big run like that it kind of sucks sucks the life out of you and especially in a late game situation like this where you need to get a stop and they're just going to run the ball and pound it down put it right up the gut really so first down and 10 from the 38-yard line for the delta devils again a run play that is going to bleed the clock down to 3 minutes and 45 seconds and counting inside of 10 seconds left on the play clock look at this tight end on the left side right here wildcats looking for an all-out blitz and here's the handoff to caleb johnson he'll fight for the first down and he gets there out to the 49-yard line wildcats nearly with a defensive stop right along the goal line for the delta devils turns into midfield possession three minutes and 15 seconds left on a running clock the wildcats only have one timeout they really need to be smart with this timeout right here if they don't if they don't get a first down right here on this play then i think they need to call a timeout and stop the clock delta devils still with all three of their time of their timeouts if they desperately need it first and ten from their own 49-yard line eason will shuffle johnson to the right the handoff complete here comes johnson over the bcu logo into wildcat territory for a two-yard gain at the wildcat 49-yard line second and eight looks like he's going to save this timeout probably wait until he gets under two minutes i don't think that's a smart idea but i think that he needs to the defense really needs to stop this run right here and get it to a third now terry sims trusting his defense because if the delta devils get one more first down that is going to really be close to ending this game but if the wildcats can get a stop before the delta devils get the next first down got a game on our hands the handoff to caleb johnson snuffed out after a three-yard game third down and five coming up one of the most important plays of the game i believe terry sims if you were to hold on to that timeout if you are the bethune cookman crowd you need to be on your feet and getting ready for probably the one of the biggest defensive plays you're gonna have this game if you get a stop right here and they go for it you need to be excited smell the barbecue get excited here we go wildcats showing an all-out blitz waiting for the run game eason looking at the play clock he'll get it off with two seconds remaining the handoff will not be completed eason will hang on to it blocked down by the wildcats it'll be fourth down in about two really need to call your timeout here it's got about a minute left terry sims holds on to his timeout the wildcats will get the ball back potentially with only about half a minute remaining but here's the big thing if this play is going to continue the wildcats need to not jump off sides be prepared for the delta devils to take the delay of game penalty back their punter up a little bit give them more room to get it inside the five yard line and instead there's going to be no attempted play at all so we'll hold seconds up delayed game offense five yard penalty still fourth down there's no timeout on the play no timeout once again the score right now 20 to 17 in favor of mississippi valley state trying to ruin homecoming for the wildcats had a 14-7 lead going into this second half very unlike the wildcats throughout this season they typically score most of their points here in the fourth quarter mississippi valley state has flipped that script right around here's the punch from fernandez the right foot sends a spiraling ball into the end zone after bouncing at the five yard line that will stop the clock with 29.5 seconds left in this fourth quarter pure bethune you need to have number one out wide in single coverage as much as possible and you need to throw the deep ball to him or even if you can catch him catch him sleeping on the other side you can even throw a deep ball to them on the other side we'll see who he goes through here i'll be very surprised if they run the ball we said it earlier if terry sims holds on to his final timeout there will be about a half a minute remaining for the wildcat offense that is exactly what we have with 29.5 seconds left one timeout in the pockets of the wildcats three options to the right one option to the left as the sun starts to set on both the game and on the skyline and a timeout will be called by mississippi valley state no play looks like they were in cover two right there they had two they had two safeties far back and they were they were ready to help first 30 seconds go receiver and potentially probably get three people on that one guy because it's hard to get two people on that one guy because he's still gonna catch it over you so if you can get three on one and they're not and devin black isn't gonna worry about the rest of the guys then i mean it's gonna be hard for them to get moving on the ball so again 29 and a half seconds remaining here in this fourth quarter devin black has had a night he's really controlled this game for the wildcat offense from start to finish after shannon patrick has gotten the start in the past five games had a good showing last week against south carolina state university a six for 16 and 127 yards the defense has two timeouts remaining the offense is out of timeout three wide outs to the right one to the left looks like they're gonna be favoring number one side right here black from the shotgun looks to the right completed on the near side he's got to get out of bounds i don't think he did the clock's gonna run and they're gonna try to spike this ball they're well short of the first down the clock bleeds inside of 15 seconds ball is placed here's the snap under center and that has snapped down to the field 12.8 seconds left if the wildcats are not going to use their timeout or get to the sideline there's only time for potentially two maybe one more plays goes all the way back at your own 29 yard line you've got to give your receivers time to get down the field that's going to take a lot of time off this clock you need to look at number one over here you need to throw it to your big playmaker even if he has three or four people you have probably one or two more plays 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter a three-man blitz for mississippi valley state this one over the middle caught and goes out of bounds i believe they're going to call it a catch for kumari average and no they're going to call it incomplete now the officials are going to have a discussion on the bethune-cookman's sideline it is a catch and because everett got out of bounds that stops the clock with six and a half seconds left the ruler on the field is a catch much at the 50 yards forgettable the clock hail mary the clock will start on the snap potentially the final play of the game cookman down by six with six and a half seconds left now i may be crazy but i think i know who they're going to in this situation devin black in the shotgun everybody's going to go downfield black flushed out of the pocket he'll send this one to the left side nobody is there for bethune cookman that's going gonna be it mississippi valley state ruins homecoming for the bethune-cookman wildcats 20-14 it is their second win of the season second win in a row and the wildcats will go to 0 and 6 on the season
