the reveal one of the meat platters with the donor on top hey everyone hope you're having an amazing day it's Mark we and in a country like turkey that is so well known world famous for meat it's something big to say that we're going to go to one of the most legendary and iconic steakhouses meat restaurants in all of Istanbul and it's actually a bit far outside of the center of the city so we're waiting on a taxi which should be here any minute now uh we're going to take a taxi there it's about a 30-minute taxi ride outside of the center of Istanbul extremely excited to visit bayy restaurant not just because of the food well food is the number one reason but also because of its living legend history while the owner and the owner's family they went through meticulous details to create the restaurant the way they wanted it uh with a unique family history okay thank you my god let's go there's a spider really oh yeah by the way there's a massive cow out in the front cow sculpture so you know it's good and the restaurant itself actually dates back to 1945 is when it was first started by Mr bety Gula uh and his father wow look at this [Music] entrance oh man step inside here it's a museum so many antiques we're just going to actually be able to I think choose if we want to sit indoors or on the Terrace oh this one is the indoor section same times the 600 people in the eating wow so 600 people can see okay so we're going to go take a look at the upstairs the Terrace right now but it's absolutely gorgeous everything from the staircase to look at these tiles the outside Terrace s the photo is yes yes here do here in the person restaurant in the other Street okay 1945 in the little small area oh that was in 1945 yes this is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever seen everything is designed perfectly with the open like Windows Terraces look at the the floor is absolutely incredible the carpets the gentle relaxing fountain in the center the roofing structure is just magnificent look at these beautiful mosaics on the wall so we're getting a real behind the scenes exclusive this is extremely special coming behind at the grills oh man what a grill it's huge look at this look at the grill It Starts Here keeps going and going going all the way down is the Don is it a lamb meat or beef beef or lamb mix mix beef and lamb okay okay okay all with wood burning for the Donaire and the aroma coming out that meat I think we'll definitely need to order the Donaire as well finally down here the tour is not over yet it keeps on going now we're down here in the basement this is the the butcher The Butchery of the restaurant whoa here it is inside the fridge wow and this is what everyone comes for most famous for their lamb and it's a special I think it's a special type of lamb right is it a special type of lamb or beef okay this one be be oh wow this one be oh stick stick s oh oh my God are you C yes inside the fridge the legendary lamb yes okay thank you very much oh and it continues this okay I'm inside of here okay oh Mel you can wait outside this one probably will be suuk suuk yeah oh this is some of the greatest sausage ever sausage and you make you make all your own sujuk here yeah suuk oh I love this suuk sausage it's so good with the spices is it made from lamb also lamb or beef beef mixed with beef and lamb okay okay okay okay oh oh and these are some of the marinating marinating lamb chops lamb chops wow okay okay oh and this is the one this is the Batey Kebab lamb wrapped in fat some of the other kebabs ready to go for the day shish kebab shish kebab okay okay wow okay thank you okay thank you okay oh yeah you can go okay warm Hospitality amazing Hospitality here and we haven't even eaten yet so now I'm excited to eat one of the coolest restaurants most amazing designed restaurants I've ever seen in my life that was an incredible tour yes oh man thank you you're welcome thank you now we are finally back at the table like I knew this place was going to be incredible but just blew me away wow I love this place before we start eating I will reiterate that I made no contact about coming to film just made a reservation just a normal reservation but just out of the kindness and Hospitality they've just gone above and beyond and showing us around and just an incredible place um so your first start with some butter some bread some crispy bread and some pickles yeah which he showed us in the kitchen as well the pickles here let's try a pickle oh man now that's a good pickle extremely crisp salty acidic wow that's good a cheese pastry oh excellent eggplant salad yes thank you so this is the this is the Mets the Mets dishes okay me dishes thank you here we go hold on sorry oh exact same texture in Minecraft thank you that's sujuk looks like it's been grilled as well oh man I cannot resist the Aroma that immediately came out smells so good the smokiness and I love I love suuk and the chef had mentioned that the sujuk is a combination of beef and lamb oh wow that is incredible so juicy and Smoky with the flavor of the cumin the chili pepper that is that's a flavor overdose of a sausage oh man I'd be happy eating that suj every single day rotating right around to the dlma oh that's different from Doma that I've had it doesn't have that much of a sourness or an acidity but it has this really amazing almost cinnamony raisiny sweetness to it oh that's delicious okay so we finished with the medes now time for the meats okay oh man that's glistening that is incredible oh wow okay okay okay thank you Chef this is mixed girl yeah okay for shish kebab shish kebab yes and that's the Bey Kebab goes on sry Ste Silo and steak okay lamb trop lamb chops okay meatballs meatballs okay meatballs Ka okay goes on so 100% you won't be able to decide on which meat to get so the probably the best option is to get the entire mixed grill and that's what we're doing [Music] [Music] [Music] oh and the donor goes on top of it oh that Aroma coming out of there is incredible oh man oh it's like meat on top of meat oh with the juices okay go in the table oh this one is ready yeah and here it is the reveal all the one of the meat platters the first meat platter with the donor on top oh look at that meat oh thank you okay the Kaa thank you okay and also the mushroom rice also something very special and iconic here oh mushroom rice yes must mustard okay this hous oh okay housemade mustard yeah mashed potatoes this spinach and here it is the Batey kebbab the legendary BTY Kebab oh a little oregano goes onto the the BTY Kebab oh thank you okay and the Turkish salad with tomato Peppers olives onions a little bit of Rocky to eat to drink with the the meal [Music] oh we're finally sitting down for this meat Feast the mixed grill everything cooked perfectly and again the hospitality the friendliness it's truly outstanding just on the next level I can't wait to dig in we have so many Meats to try I'm going to just start with that donor since it was freshly sliced thin strips of beautiful meat and they said it's a combination of beef and lamb oh so oily and juicy and dripping with flavor oh wow that is spectacular the flavor keeps on coming as you keep on chilling the juices start to release the tenderness of the meat that's just like buttery ultimate meaty flavor that's incredible I think it's okay to pick this up since it's on bone with a handle wow just the tenderness the flavor of the fire and the fat has crisp ified m M man that's a good piece of lamb extraordinary Lamb Chop man the flavor and it's tender but as you keep on chewing it just releases that flavor just then that is lamb Paradise it's time for the famous Bey Kebab oh so you remove that fat or do you eat the fat ah oh you can see the juice of it the inside my first bite here of the Bey Kebab good it thank you oh wow pet in the in May love you in the eating okay oh that deserves a moment of silence that's a lamb memory to to just contemplate the texture of it is incredible the flavor of the oregano the Aging the preservation of fat just like layer upon layer oh man they figured out a way to just Mr I mean Mr Bey himself has figured out a way to add even more flavor to already quality lamb and it does go through a really unique process what I was reading oh man what a EXT extraordinary piece of lamb and that flavor of the oregano as well the Bey kebab and wait till you hear how it's made I have my notes here um the meat rests for 12 days so it ages for 12 days then it's marinated in onion juice vinegar and extra virgin olive oil for 3 days then it's wrapped in the lamb back strap the entire the entire uh meat is wrapped in the lamb backstrap fat and then rests for another day and then finally it's ready to go and that's what we're eating now but the technique the beeti technique which Mr beti G himself he invented the technique and this is still still where they make the authentic recipe even though it's a dish now that you'll find AC cross turkey and every Turkish person knows Bey and Associates their name with meat and especially with this cut with this technique that is so good that's like Flavor upon flavor okay I'll go for my next bite of the Bey Kebab I might go with a little bit of that that fat which they kind of like actually actually took off but that's actually kind of just preserving the meat I think and then maybe some of that mustard you said it's a spicy mustard to go with all the meat just step on it the horseradish mustard oh delicious and that fat I'm not totally sure if you should I mean it is lamb fat what you can eat it's a little bit chewy but it's mostly I think the job of the lamp head is especially to preserve the meat on the inside but there definitely a lot of flavor in that fat as well and a lot of that flavor also skeps into the meat let's try the grilled pepper oh yes I got a spicy one well that immediately goes up your nose a little bit some of them can be spicy some of them are not spicy oh yeah that one spicy oh that's wonderful we're moving on to the next meat the kafta as soon as you bite down on that one you can just feel the juices squeezing out all it's delicious going to chase that with the rest of the chili that chili is amazing it's a type of heat that really opens up your taste buds makes you start salivating okay and then also their signature mushroom rice to go with it [Music] all pean carrots in there has a little bit of a a cinnamon flavor to it as well so it's more aromatic not spicy but aromatic really good like everything just really clashy and taken to the next level and the terms of quality flavor balance of ingredients and I think this is the last meat on the plate it's the lamb shish kebab oh nice juicy pieces of fat as well oh this one is cooked more rare again that is so flavorful this has a little more chewi to it and then it's very common for people to come here to have rocky or actually wine they specialize in wine they have a long wine list uh they're known for their wines and drinks but traditionally with meat like this rocki which is the Anis infused liquor cheers oh that's fantastic oh man the flavor of Ana seed goes great with meat goes great with a meal like this hanging out socializing part of the culture oh that's refreshing this one is a Turkish white bean salad and this one is the hot side of spinache oh man I love Turkish white beans so creamy soft I just melt in your mouth I love the flavor of the parsley the olives in there the crunch of the onion and the dressing feels kind of like olive oil and lemon juice maybe vinegar that's just refreshing and Hearty from the beans I love it and then we've got the spinach maybe some onions in there a little bit creamy but not overly salty just mellow focuses on the flavor the greenness of that spinach roasted eggplant chunky cut tomatoes peppers onions olive oil I think lemon juice as [Music] well all the ob in it's so creamy and so Smokey oh it's so good it's almost like a like a creamier mashed potatoes but all eggplant what okay thanks mea pepper all over okay thank you mashed potatoes are very good too wow sorry wow dessert time and the kunafe or oh pumpkins oh rice pudding rice pudding oh kimak kak that is the kimak oh thank you oh man and they just brought out a selection of all the desserts this is the grand trays of desserts all sorts of baklava the pudding the Quint kaaf Micah has already devoured the the pudding look at Micah he knocked off that in a hurry m is it good yeah okay well where to begin here we go oh man so many pistachios look at the insides of that one's just loaded with [Music] pistachio the pistachio the layers of dough that melts in your mouth sweet and just gushes with syrup delicious oh and a kunafe one of the kings of all desserts that's your dessert you your favorite kunafe cheese on the bottom vermicelli on top and this one was grilled over the fire with sweet syrup and pistachio wow oh thank you kunafe one of my absolute favorite of all desserts cheese vermicelli syrup um pistachios as well well this one has a lot of compared to other versions this one has a lot of verelli oh yeah man all the layers of crispy verelli the sweet syrup again the flavor of the ground pistachios is what really comes through sure thank you very much okay oh yeah I just want to play yeah you need some tea with all these sweets really are like of extraordinary quality though okay let's try the next one I really want to try that stuffed uh fig stuffed with kimok let's take a look on the inside oh maybe it's not kimak but there's definitely a fig with a a walnut in the center W it's [Music] bur delicious fig syrup Walnut next up for the baked pudding is it the rice pudding oh look at that crust on the top it is rice pudding oh oh that's really creamy and milky superb okay and then the other dessert that we have to try is the Quint this one is impressive that's huge and the kimok just resting on top not even totally sure how we go about eating this it's like a feels like a blob of jam Quint Jam that's impressive M oh man the sweet and sourness of the Quin with the ultra creamy kimok that is intensely rich and Incredibly good thank you please partway through dessert couldn't resist some Turkish coffee oh yes all that hits the spot what a just outstanding meal totally exceeded my expectations from the food to the actually atmosphere and architecture of the restaurant to the service and Hospitality they have it all here really one of the legendary meals of is dbol okay thank you thank you again thank you thank you thank you very much thank you very much thank you thank you thank you goodby thank you thank you goodbye thank you Mya come on y you're going to go in [Music] here so again a huge thank you to Batey an absolutely astounding experience once in a lifetime meal I mean I can guarantee every time I come back to Istanbul I'll be there to eat [Music] we made it back to the center of Istanbul uh there was quite a lot of traffic coming back but again well worth it highly recommended Bay restaurant outstanding uh if you love food if you love meat it's a place you have to go when you're in Istanbul
