what's up my name is techno be here for troubleshoot and welcome back to another video in this quick optimization guide I'll be taking you through the best settings for Need for Speed and band to get reasonably good fps to really good FPS while still keeping the game looking pretty good obviously being a racing game instead of a twitch shooter anything above 30 FPS is usually fine however if you'd like to get more out of your system this is what this guide is for here I won't be touching any of the basic Windows things you should already have done like updating your graphics card driver Windows closing all of your background programs and anything that's unnecessary especially overlays like FPS counting overlays Discord overlay turn that off if you don't use it etc etc now this game is available on both Steam and origin however if you get it on Steam and play it here it will launch up the EA desktop application as well at the same time so if you're running on a really tight system with barely any system resources to go around do keep that in mind I'm pretty sure once you've launched it or rather signed in and linked your EA account and your Steam account you can probably exit out of steam completely and just have EA desktop open however if you do use theme for example you'll be able to shift Tab and use the overlay there to get an FPS counter otherwise you'll need to rely on third-party software in the description down below you'll find optimization guides for Windows 10 11 and Nvidia to get even more out of your PC for frame anyways with that out of the way let's get into the actual game itself so on the main menu what we need to do is hit tab or if you're on controller hit the settings button and inside of here we'll head across to Graphics starting off motion blur is something I usually recommend turning off especially if you're sensitive to motion and you get motion sick easily colorblind mode is your preference gamma correction as well as well as the full screen device here screen mode should be full screen for the best most stable FPS and of course your screen resolution should match your display or at least be compatible otherwise it'll be blurry or of course you'll be rendering more pixels than you can actually see vsync or vertical sync should be off unless you're getting the screen tearing with the top off and the bottom half of your screen don't match up then you'll need to turn it on otherwise leave it off Dynamic resolution scaling should be off as well but you can enable us and choose an FPS Target right below it so your game will dynamically adjust settings to get you better fps but usually you'll want to have this off up some blue this is what I'd recommend using instead of dynamic resolution scaling if we turn this on we have AMD FSR and if you have an Nvidia graphics card 20 series or above you'll have dlss usually you'll want to choose fsr2 and set the upscaler preset to Quality or maybe balanced if you need more performance the same goes for dlss we have the exact same options here upscaler sharpening for NVIDIA I'll usually have it around 70 and for AMD FSR a little bit lower maybe 50 or 40. though this is entirely your preference because I have an Nvidia graphics card I'll be choosing Nvidia dlss balanced and also the sharpening to maybe 7 or sixty percent Nvidia reflex low latency if you have an Nvidia GPU you can turn this on for better responsiveness though usually it won't really make too much of a difference unless you really CPU bottlenecked in which case you'll be selecting on plus boost then Graphics quality you can change this from Auto to one of the options here however if you push it all the way to the far right we get into custom now we can start adjusting things that'll really make a difference texture quality completely depends on how much vram you have if you have a higher end graphics card select high or even Ultra otherwise lower it down too low and forget about it usually this won't come at any performance cost however it has a huge impact on the game so if you have more vram available try and set this a bit higher Shadow quality you can leave this on high otherwise push it down to medium if you push it too low you may notice Shadows become really blocky which isn't too much of an issue however if you stop somewhere you'll definitely notice it so probably medium or higher texture filtering is anisotropic filtering and it usually has pretty much Zero Effect on your PC and performance you can leave this on high and forget about it ambient occlusion applies softer Shadows to objects and there's a couple of options here the further to the right you go the more performance this will cost usually you can set this off and forget about it it's just softer Shadows effect detail if you find yourself getting a really stuttery game whenever things are happening smoke particles Etc this is what you want to come back and lower otherwise you'll usually leave it on medium or high geometry detail because we're staring at cars a lot and things around we'll probably want to have this on the higher end if we can now anti-aliasing should be disabled if you have Nvidia dlss or amdfsr selected as an upscaler otherwise you can set this to your liking usually the lower you have the more Jagged edges you'll see but you'll see a huge performance increase terrain quality this has to do with vram once more usually you'll set this to high on higher end graphics cards otherwise you can lower the stem vegetation detail usually off to the side of the track and things like that so you're not necessarily going to be staring at plants and trees but pushing this too low it may become distracting so medium is probably the lowest I'll go here post processing quality doesn't have to do with light flares and things across your screen it's nice to have however not really necessary but then again it doesn't have much of a performance impact to begin with medium won't blow is good enough lighting quality once again this isn't a twitch shooter so you'll probably want a better looking game over a more performant game as long as you're happy with your input latency you'd probably leave this on medium or even high if you'd like how things look there isn't Ray tracing as far as I understand depth of field this isn't something we can turn off entirely however we can adjust the quality here usually pushing this down to low end games results in a flashy mess so I'd usually recommend leaving this on medium at lowest otherwise pushing it down too low you'll notice when things are supposed to be blurred in the distance instead they pop in and out of real reality or they just look really weird and distracting finally reflection quality obviously we're driving around cars if you're someone who drives in third person you'll probably want this on the higher end otherwise you can lower it down to medium or low and forget about it I drive third person a lot so I'll leave this on high and when that comes the end of the graphic settings here I'll hit escape to head back and in the audio section here you'll probably want to adjust the dynamic range to better match what you like full range means there'll be a huge difference between loud and soft sounds but you can adjust this to reduced that way loud sounds aren't so jarring and quiet sounds aren't so quiet then scrolling down further you can adjust the Music Volume especially if you're a streamer that's probably something you'll want to turn down pretty much completely then we have a breakdown of the rest of the Sounds here then at the very bottom voice settings you can set this to party or off depending on what your experience is or what you want from the game heading back that's pretty much it that we have here inside of accessibility there are tons of options that are especially useful for those who need it motion blurs you mostly because of the motion sickness it may cause so once again you'll probably want this off if you'd like an FPS overlay the easiest way is to do it with steam hit shift tab head into settings then in game at the very top and turn the in-game FPS counter to top left or one of the other corners and enable the high contrast color that way when you hit OK you'll see a green FPS counter in the top left or wherever you chose and you'll be able to follow it while you play even though I am on a really high-end PC because I'm playing in 2K the game is someone struggling and I'm sitting at around 80 FPS however it feels much better than it did before even if there isn't a huge FPS jump that went from probably about 30 or 40 to 70 or 80 it's double the FPS but it definitely feels far more responsive this isn't the kind of game you're shooting for FPS you're going for experience so once again customize things to how you like them once again in the description down below you'll find optimization and guides for Windows and Nvidia graphics cards as well as some other useful things thank you for watching my stream techno Behavior troubleshoot and I'll see you all next time ciao
