hey guys welcome back to my childhood all being incredibly well today so last week I uploaded my hooded eyes dome shape makeup eyeshadow tutorial which had a great response from you guys all of you in the comments that seemed to love it and you loved how in-depth I went with it and you laughter it also talked through tutorials and not a really speedily done voiceover now in that video I really wanted to include fake eyelashes and what to do about your eyelashes if you have hooded eyes or more leaves or mature eyes any kind of eyes like that I wanted to include the lashes part of it and I did I actually filmed it but when I was editing it the video was already so long as you guys all know are sequels over half an hour by the way if you haven't seen that quick card to it right here for you can watch that after this video so yeah the video was already so long so I ended up just chopping that whole part out and I just left the entire lashes part out of the video because way too long so that's why in today's video I'm going to take you all the way through lashes for hooded eyes so I'm going to talk to you about mascara and fake eyelashes which ones you should use which ones you should steer clear from and how I think the best way to apply them for comfort longevity and flattering this to who the guys is now this is anything like my last video it's probably going to end up pretty well because it is going to be a talk through so if you have already grab yourself a cup of coffee or team I put mine right here I let's get straight into it now the first thing we need to talk about is lashes in general with regards to hooded eyes hooded eyes can have one of two identifying aspects to them either you have a really puffy top eyelid which kind of protrudes and always covers your lashline and because of that you have a really really low crease to your eye the other kind of hooded eye which I explained in my last video we're way more in depth in my last video so definitely go and watch that first it's kind of like the part one to this year but here's brief run-through it's for you the other kind of hooded eye is the droopy kind of hooded eye which is what I have and people like like lively and more mature aged women and men would have now the two common themes of both of these clients of hooded eyes is that the hood of the I kind of drips down and protrudes a little bit so the reason why lashes are so important when it comes to hooded eyes is because when you have these lashes really thick and voluminous poking up it kind of pushes the look of the hood of the eye back if that's making any sense so instead of having a protruding eyelid which is kind of all you can see we sorted eyes the eyelash is kind of a fleck put it this way right you know when you put a horizon so like here's your horizon for example and that's all you can see like the straight line here that's your horizon eyelashes are kind of like the trees that poke up in front of the horizon so instead of seeing just is one great big blank line of horizon you have these bushes and trees growing up in front of it and that's kind of what using is dead and the horizon kind of States into the background that's my analogy for hooded eyes and eyelashes and that's why they're so important because not only do they take the focus off the cord of the eye but if they're long and seeking voluminous they can actually push the look of the whole entire back so first of all mascara is very very important my favorite mascara of the moment as you guys will know if you watch my videos is this one here this is the Tarte lights camera lashes mascara hopefully my camera is focusing on that the reason I love it is mascara so much aside from the fact that it's cruelty free is because it really really lengthens the eyelashes but it thickens them up as well and it's super black so if you're not a fan of fake lashes or you are just going out during the day you don't want to be wearing fake lashes but you still want to have that great eyelash effect for your hooded eyes this is the mascara I would recommend for that I use the non waterproof so the mascara I use is just the regular lights camera lashes mascara one thing I would suggest however if you do have water included eyes is you invest in the waterproof version of this because to my knowledge it does come in both waterproof and regular I just use the regular because it works fine for me I don't find it at smudges or anything like that so this is perfect so in this video I'm going to take you through mascara first and then false lashes so let's apply the mascara first and I'll show you what I'm talking about so at the moment I've got absolutely nothing on my eyelashes and I'm also having a non footage eye day I spoke about this in my last video some days I wake up on my eyes are super hooded and some days I wake up like today and my eyes are hooded and honestly I prefer these days because then I can do winged liners and I can do all these crazy I looks and not have to worry about doing a dome shape and I'll have to worry about doing a car crease or anything like that today's one of those days box 3 will the two or three days ago I woke up with the most hooded droopy eyes ever I don't even know what causes it please excuse us Marik you guys I obviously need to see what I'm doing when I'm putting my mascara on so I had to bring that closer to me um but whatever so I'm putting on my mascara to my top lashes what you want to do is make sure you coat from the very bottom of the eyelash all the way to the top so I think a lot of people with mascara just kind of do it like this and all you're doing then is applying it just to the very tips of the lashes which is not a very flattering way to apply mascara because and you just have like two-toned eyelashes which I don't know if you're going for that kind of look it's fine but when you apply it from the roots to the tips that's when you get that really the luminizing effect and they look thicker and longer and the entire eyelash is coated and looks really black so that's what you want to do you also want to spend a little bit of time on this to make sure that you coat every single eyelash that you have because if you do that you may find that you don't need to wear fake eyelashes at all and that your natural lashes with a bit of mascara on is enough now another thing I will say if you have hooded eyelids is look down or keep your eyes closed until your mascara is dry because if you look up when your mascara is wet and I'm not going to do it right now cuz I know it's going to happen to me if you'll get those tiny little dots on your eyelid which then are all bother to remove so keep your eyes closed or just look down into your mascara is de right okay so my mascara is dry and hopefully you guys can see what I'm talking about it just makes somewhat of the difference and you'll be able to see better what I was talking about it's my eye so super cooler today um but they're not but if you do want to see what I'm talking about I have done so many different videos on whose eyes my own hooded eyes and other people's food arrived so it's all in my quadra-drive playlist which I will link right here for you so if you guys want to see more in depth what I'm talking about on different examples of cluded eyes then just look through those videos I'm sure you'll be able to find one that will see grenades so my mascara is now dry what you can do if it's just a time or something like that you can just leave this book here that's what I would usually do during the day especially if I'm going to work or something like that but for the purpose of this video we're going to talk about fake lashes too now hooded eyes and fake lashes can be really amazing or really legit a lot of the time all three people recorded eyes really strong with a pair of massive over top strip false lashes okay something like this for example see these eyelashes are absolutely massive and they're in a huge big long strip those lashes by the way I've written beautiful and I have worn them before but they are tricky and they don't wear very well throughout the day because they're so heavy and they came off but anyway the photos they're amazing now I strongly advise against strip lashes when it comes to any kind of life but mostly hooded eyes and my own eyes you will basically never catch me wearing a full strip lash without topping it up first so here is a pair of strip lashes which I really really like to put in eyes these are the ideal synthetic glamour whispies in black now the reason I like these so much it not only because they're in static but because they really wispy on the ends so if you compare them to these for example you'll see that these has a really kind of straight edge to the end of the lash whereas the ends of these blushes is really skin with and kind of always in place I just think that these are so much more flattering on Hulu eyes because instead of again getting that really harsh line across the food or the puffiness of your eye they've kind of dispersed it with their wispy nurse so I would always recommend that if you can find them go for the eyebrow glamour black with these the only thing I will say about these is I thought - our dilemma with these black here they're meant to be the exact same one is made in Indonesia a month made in Sri Lanka I've noticed and they're kind of different so as you can see the one in this hand here that is what I'm going to use with the really wispy ends this one here is meant to be the same lash for the ends are quite different so this one will still work but this one is far better so if the only ones you can find it these ones with the kind of straight edge end I wouldn't recommend using them but if in your country you can get the recipes that I'm talking about with the real wispy ends then I highly recommend them if you can't get deep that I would recommend you get the ideal individual cluster lashes which I will get onto it in a second okay so the reason I don't like straight lashes is because when you put them on right these lashes are all attached to each other on one big long strip when you stick them onto your I think about this your eye roof your eye is blinking constantly you can scrunch your eye up if you laughs your eyes probably going to scrunch up if you squint in the sunlight your eyes going to scratch and when your eye is moving the strip lash doesn't move with your eye it stays really rigid and that's when you find that your eyelashes come off on the inner corners or come off on the outer choirs and it just looks really tacky in my opinion not only that but I find it really uncomfortable to wear a strip lash because you can literally feel it not letting your eye move and I like to really scrunch my eyes up when I laughs my eyes end up like a little pin hairs like that so I want my eyelashes to move with my eye so what I always do is top my eyelashes up if you don't have a lot of time or you're just feeling a little bit lazy I would recommend you chop them into four parts with the inner corner being the smallest part because the inner corner in my experience is the part of the eyelash that comes off and the easiest of your eye so I would recommend that you chocolate the inner corner to be the smallest chunk and then you can leave the outer corners bigger if you have more time to chop them into smaller sections maybe five or six sections because like I said it will just make it way more comfortable to wear and it will give your eyes some room to move with your eyelashes on and the eyelashes will move with your eyes so everyone's trying to do is assumingly and onto my desk key so you can see what I'm doing when I chop them up so what I'm going to do is peel the lashes off really carefully with my tweezers and then what I'm going to do is start chopping them up so like I said I want the inner corner to be smaller than the outer corner because that is the ones that come off of the easiest for me so if you look at your lashes you'll see their little clusters so I'm going to chop mine so that I only have two little clusters here I'm just using little nail scissors to chop them by the way then as I chop them I'm going to put them back in their space on the little mount that they come on just so you know we're about from I your cluster is meant to go there's another cluster here so that is what my lash is looking like now compared to the strip lash and now I'm going to apply them so I'm going to zoom you in so you can see exactly what I'm doing hi if you can I would suggest you invest in good quality glue I find that the eye gel glue or the huda beauty waterproof glue works the best for using eyelashes on and you also have the option to use clear glue or black glue if you're a beginner I suggest you go with the clear glue however if you are a pro go with the dark black glue okay so what I'm going to do is take my first individual cluster that I've chopped which is the parts of the inner corner for eye I'm going to dip it in my glue and then I'm going to give it a few moments to get tacky so I just plonk it there on the back of my hand and wait for it to get tacky and whilst I'm waiting I just dunk the rest of the lashes in the glue as well okay so my lashes are now khaki I'm going to take my first little cluster going to look down and plunk it as close to my own natural lash line as possible like that then going with my next cluster and place this as close to the one that you just applied as possible because you want to recreate the look of that strip lash obviously you don't want to have gaps between your lashes that aren't meant to be there now these are looking absolutely massive at the moment which I kind of like but I'm going to actually push them down really gently just so you can see what kind of effect you can get they don't have to be poking up against the hood of your eye at all times you can tilt them down and kind of direct them more horizontal falls to ground and I will give you a more natural effect from front on so there we go they're not quite as in-your-face as they were a few seconds going now now what I'm going to do on my other eye is show you a different method of fake lashes for hooded eyes so here's what I would recommend you do and the technique you are used to apply straight lashes if you want to use strip lashes however what I would recommend if you have mature eyes or you don't find big fake lashes are comfortable I would highly recommend you go with the individual cluster lashes so these ones here are also from ardell excuse me curve I've chopped the top rim off so that they can fit easily in my drawers but these are the Adelle not free double Flair's eyelashes I've got about a zillion these because I go through them so often I use them on myself and my clients then the next thing to remember when you're buying individual cluster lashes is you can get a pack that has all three lengths in it which would be a pack like this so you've got some short lashes up here you've got medium lashes here and then you've got long lashes down the bottom so the longer lashes you would use them for the outer corners of your eyes the medium would go in the middle of your eyelid and the shorter ones are on the inner corners of your eyes otherwise you can also buy individual cluster lashes in packs of links so you can buy dog short ones which I've got right here or you can buy or medium ones which I've got here but I've almost finished them you can also buy a packs of all well ones I believe that I never buy the whole long ones because I actually think the medium ones are super long so I rarely useful on once so I'm going to do is plunk a little bit of my glue just on the back of any clean surface I'm diffusing the back of my eyelash case here so there's my little clump of glue Oh sounds great so what I'm going to do is pick up one cluster lash at a time you have to be really careful with these that you don't break them so there's a medium lash right there I'm going to dunk you bump is that glue and then I'm going to put him on the back of my hands to get it tacky it's really hard to apply false lashes if you don't wait for the glue to get tacky because you're going to apply it and the glue is not going to be tacky so it's just gotta move around everywhere and you're going to get really frustrated then I'm going to get some short lashes for the inner corners of my eyes don't do them in the blue and wait for them to go tacky as well it usually takes around ten full seconds I find for glue to go tacky enough that you can use it okay so this is a short lash and I'm going to start by applying it on the inner corners of my eyes what you're doing in lip so there's one on then my next short lash I'm going to put right next to it I even find that the short lashes are pretty well so if you wanted to you could actually just use only short lashes but again personal preference up to you put a medium lash here so I'm just going to plunk you further out and then you basically just keep doing that for your entire eye until you have enough eyelashes on you might find when you apply they're kind of around and goes a bit stiff all you need to do then is just yank it off and start again these eyelashes if you yank it off like so I use not put it on correctly you can just take it off dunk it in the glue again and then apply it again there's no real issue okay so here are all my short lashes on I'm now going to go in with some medium lashes for the outer corners of my eyes so there we go that is all my individual cluster lashes on on this eye and then I'm dis iíve got some strip lashes so hopefully you can see the difference these lines are a lot lighter then these ones these ones are heavier to wear like they feel heavier on my eye I also feel like I can't probably squish my eye up as much with these lashes on as what I could with these ones on these ones are definitely more comfortable and life it's where they actually don't feel like anything on your eye at all so if you have mature hooded eyes or you just don't like the feel of fake lashes on your eyes of all you don't like that heavy feeling then I would totally recommend you go with these ones as opposed to these ones so I know I look a little B unbalanced right now bys with these two different lashes on but I just wanted to show you the different effects that you can get for fitted eyes with fake lashes and which ones will work best for you so I really hope that you guys found that video helpful if you did find it helpful pretty please give me
