inspired bolt euv electric utility vehicle which offers a more spacious cabin than the bolt hatchback as well as a more crossover-like exterior styling the base lt trim comes with a starting price of 34 000. under the hood is a 200 horsepower electric motor that's juiced by a 65 kilowatt hour battery pack expected to deliver up to 250 miles of driving range per charge chevrolet says 30 minutes of dc charging will add 95 miles of range for the bolt euv battery system comes with eight year or 100 000 mile limited warranty bolt euv crossover will get gm's supercruise hands-free driver assist technology as standard on launch edition model but safety assistance features like automatic emergency braking front collision alert and front pedestrian braking come as standard on all bolt euvs but what's missing on this electric crossover is all-wheel drive customers have to opt in for just front wheel drive [Music] 2022 hyundai kona electric the kona electric is powered by a 201 horsepower electric motor and its large battery pack is good for up to 258 miles per charge that's key because an ev's range number is the most important factor in the electric vehicle marketplace public dc fast chargers can charge the kona electric up to 80 percent in about 54 minutes the kona electric receives a styling update for 2022 that includes new front and rear bumpers new wheel designs and a tweaked interior that now comes standard with a 10.3 inch digital gauge display on top of its competitive estimated driving range the kona electric delivers perky acceleration spry handling and an unbeatable standard warranty and complementary maintenance package the small electric suv has a starting price of around thirty seven thousand dollars [Music] 2021 kia niro ev the kia niro ev is a fully electric subcompact crossover some may refer to it as a taller hatchback but regardless of the exact vehicle type it's a great choice for buyers that are looking for an affordable ev with a decent driving range the nero was introduced for 2019 and got some updates in 2020 but is expected to enter 2021 with minimal changes [Music] nero ev comes with an epa rated 239 miles of range the single electric motor makes 201 horsepower and a whopping 291 pound-feet of torque which helps propel the nero ev to 60 miles per hour in about 6.5 seconds and keep it flying at highway speeds the 7.2 kilowatt onboard ac charger standard on the base ex model can fully charge the niro ev in about 9.5 hours on a 240 volt circuit optional on the ex and standard on the premium model is dc fast charging which gains up to 100 miles of range in 30 minutes or go from zero to 80 percent charge in 54 minutes some consumers may disappoint with the lack of all-wheel drive option as all kia niro's come with front-wheel drive its cabin is roomy and versatile but the seats lack support and the ride isn't as smooth as it might be the nero ev hasn't been crash tested yet however the nero hybrid and plug-in hybrid have scored well but they weigh less standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking adaptive cruise control and active lane control pricing for 2021 hasn't been released for the 2020 model year the nero evex started at 39 000 and kia throws in a 10-year or 100 000 mile warranty [Music] 2021 volkswagen id4 [Music] the 2021 id4 is the first u.s bound volkswagen built from the ground up as an electric vehicle the pro trim is priced just below 40 000 and comes with rear wheel drive and a single electric motor capable of producing 201 horsepower volkswagen says the id4 is optimized from the get-go for the best range efficiency and interior space possible [Music] the electric crossover id4 is smaller than volkswagen's tiguan suv but its wheelbase which is the measurement between the front and rear wheels is only about an inch shorter than the tiguan's with the wheels pushed farther apart the id4 has more space for passengers in fact it has nearly identical passenger accommodations as the tiguan the id4 comes standard with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen that can be upgraded to a larger 12-inch display with the optional statement package though the touchscreen responsiveness appears to be sluggish volkswagen says the id4 battery pack holds enough juice to power the suv up to 250 miles between charges which is plenty for most ev buyers and volkswagen is throwing in three years of complementary dc fast charging at electrify america stations the id4 can accept up to 125 kilowatts of public dc fast charging providing five to eighty percent charge in about 38 minutes will offer a host of standard and optional driver assistance technology and an eight-year 100 000 mile warranty [Music] 2022 nissan area nissan area will go on sale in the us in late 2021. two different battery sizes will be offered a 63 kilowatt hour battery and a larger 87 kilowatt hour battery the base ev version with the smaller battery pack will start at forty thousand dollars which barely qualifies for this list of under forty thousand dollar ev crossovers the larger battery model will have a driving range of about three 300 miles but nissan hasn't put a number on the standard range model yet although it'll likely be in the area of 250 miles which beats the nissan leaf's maximum of 226 miles range the base model will come with wheel drive and have 215 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque capacity the nissan aria's battery pack can charge up to 130 kilowatts which is a little quicker than the id4's 125 kilowatt max charging speed the area can accept 350 amps at 400 volts which will get you about 175 miles of range in 30 minutes the urea's design represents a shift from the current sharp angular line seen on many of nissan's vehicles the low wide stance of the area differentiates it from the rogue and gives it a sportier look aria will use nissan's pro pilot 2.0 advanced assistance system is standard pro pilot 2.0 permits hands-off single lane driving plus it uses e-pedal a single pedal for launch acceleration and brake dual 12.3 inch screens dominate the dash and serve as both the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment screen it's expected the aria will come back with the same basic warranty package as the leaf hatchback when it goes on sale that warranty should include a competitive bumper to bumper as well as battery protection that stretches over 8 years or 100 000 miles 2022 hyundai ioniq 5. hyundai has just unveiled its latest electric vehicle the ionic 5. this mid-size 5 passenger electric suv joins the existing kona compact suv and ionic hatchback in hyundai's ev lineup but the ioniq 5 is built from the ground up as an electric vehicle and will be available with the standard 58 kilowatt hour battery or long range 77.4 kilowatt hour battery range for us models is not released but at launch in hyundai's home market of south korea max driving range is said to be around 300 miles this electric crossover provides a choice of rear or all-wheel drive rear-wheel drive version will have a longer range and all-wheel drive version is great for getting a better grip and good to have in cold weather states where extra traction counts as for performance hyundai says the ionic 5 can do zero to 60 in as little as 5.2 seconds the ioniq 5 offers an augmented reality head-up display and a pair of 12-inch digital displays and hyundai smartsense with the brand's latest driver assist technology the interior of ionic 5 has what hyundai calls an open-air living space theme a prominent feature is the universal island a center console that can move and adjust to create space the korean automaker hasn't tinted how much the upcoming ioniq 5 will cost but it's said that it'll launch in the fall of 2021 but it's expected the ioniq 5 will open at about 45 000 in the u.s 2022 kia ev6 kia just revealed its upcoming 2022 kia ev6 crossover and released european specs and price the company's first dedicated ev it'll be built on the same electric global modular platform that'll underpin a slew of new kia evs the same platforms being used by the brand's corporate cousin hyundai for the ioniq 5. the interior has a minimalist design with two 12-inch screens spanning the dashboard a two spoke steering wheel and haptic controls in place of conventional buttons there will be three versions of the car ev6 ev6 gt line and ev6 gt most of them will be available in multiple configurations including two battery options as well as rear or all-wheel drive the battery options will be 58 kilowatt hours and 77.4 kilowatt hours the larger one should last for up to 317 miles range it can charge on a dc fast charging station from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes the top of the line version the ev6 gt with a dual motor all-wheel drive system will allow accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 161 miles per hour kia uk's launch offering only includes the longer range 77.4 kilowatt hour battery crossover with a 56 000 price tag but kia didn't release the price for its smaller battery 58 kilowatt hour variants of the ev6 it's not clear when
