hello welcome to colonial rv well we all can debate what our favorite pastimes are of a certain type of music we listen to a sports team we support or just a leisure activity there's one thing we all can agree on how great the feeling is to get your driver's license get behind the wheel and explore the great outdoors well there's no greater rv to do it in than the most popular selling sprinter-based 4x4 on the 2500 chassis than the 2022 version of the winnebago rebel come on let's take a closer look [Music] so this is the 2022 winnebago rebel they've been producing it winnebago since 2018 and one of the advantages of this coach it's on a 4x4 short wheelbase platform and you're combining two iconic companies winnebago and mercedes-benz and as we know winnebago is the leading manufacturer in the small camper van class b caravan rvs and mercedes-benz produced the first automobile ever and they've just been improving year after year the winnebago rebel 2022 is still built on the mercedes-benz 2500 it's the 144 inch wheelbase it is 19 foot 7 inches in length it's 10 foot tall to the highest point which is the roof air conditioner as far as the 4x4 and the chassis itself we're going to get into some of those features here as well as the lithium batteries get into the gear garage the hydronic heating but first we want to talk about one thing that's more important to all of us and that's safety mercedes-benz alone has over a hundred and forty thousand patents for safety so when you're purchasing a vehicle like this it's important to understand am i gonna be safe and enjoy it and that's one thing that you'll see is proven with winnebago and mercedes it's also very small where you can drive this when it's in four by four mode almost in any terrain it's not too long or too wide and also you can even park it down in some city streets and you can drive it around town so that's the beauty of this vehicle but as far as safety features from the chassis the vs30 chassis you have things like adaptive cruise control with braking assist you have lane keeping assist high beam assist windshield wipers and one of the things that i think is really cool with the fog lights it has the light cornering mode which is great if you have ever been in a automobile dark streets or a dark wood area where you make a left or right turn it illuminates that side and it's really really cool for a driver's view as far as winnebago stepping inside they also have a fire extinguisher when you first walk in you're also going to see they have a carbon monoxide and a smoke detector but one of the things that you're not going to see in this coach and we're going to bring it up in a few different places is it does not have down low a propane detector propane detectors as we all know in rvs that have propane are always down low because propane gas usually sinks and pulls down to the the cabinetry or the floor it's not in this coach because winnebago is all electric and that's also one of the key features of the winnebago now as far as safety features there's one that's often not discussed and that is the occupant cargo carrying capacity the occupant cargo capacity or the occ that's going to determine how much weight you don't want to be overweight when you're loading up especially in this gear garage and you're always going to know what that is it's always going to be on a yellow sticker which here on either the door jamb or in this case with the rebel is the passenger and the occupant capacity with this is 1757 pounds now that's how much cargo you can include but you also have to think obviously that's how many personnel and people are on board and also it's also going to include your hitch weight and water weight so because you have a tongue weight of this vehicle of 500 pounds that's also going to take into consideration for the occupant car and capacity and safety is number one so we just wanted to touch base on all those features okay so you're wondering why are we underneath this vehicle well we think it's one of the coolest features with the winnebago revel because it is four by four now the four by fours chassis other than a non four by four does sit four inches higher so probably if this was a a regular uh two-wheel drive chassis on the mercedes-benz 2500 you may not be seeing our head right here because we don't have as much clearance but what actually does it mean to have the 4x4 chassis we thought we have a great view underneath now it is a very easy process it's by pushing a button so it's electronic when you're sitting in the driver's seat and we'll show that to you here in a second but underneath what is the difference because normally the rebel will be driving in a two wheel drive mode here in the rear axle which is 100 of the torque when you engage the 4x4 what actually happens is the transfer case will divide the torque 65 to the rear 35 percent to the front axle so now you're in a true 4x4 mode vehicle and it was just very simple you didn't have to get out there was no labor involved of locking hubs or anything like that so it's a very advanced system now there's one other part of that with the 4x4 mode which is called the low range mode so with the low range mode what actually happens is the chassis is going to reduce 40 ratio reduction on the transmission and it takes the power from the torque from the engine to the wheels and that's going to help you on some really steep inclines so now that we've seen the 4x4 let's take a walk around and see all the other cool features now as far as the features on the 2022 winnebago rebel we're going to show them to you here as we walk around but first we want to talk about color this coach that we had ordered in the silver forest exterior you can also purchase a rebel with the pebble gray which is really like a a tan color as well as the blue gray which is very popular as far as the interior the only two choices you're going to have is the silver springs cabinetry which is like a gray and white bamboo here or you also have a pewter which is more of just a flat gray which is very industrial looking it looks pretty cool now here on the passenger side winnebago still has the roll-off screens which are magnetic so you can just come in and out of the coach with your family or the pets it does zipper down and it will stay all the way down you just release the buckle but the real cool feature with rolex the canadian manufacturer has got a heavy duty magnet so the screen will always come right back to its original position when you're walking in and out here on the camping side winnebago last year this feature has transferred over they have the adjustable shelf and we have the induction stove as we talked about with no propane with the safety features you do not have a gas burner it's no propane so you have an induction stove which is magnetic and we actually have here just an example of one a magnetic true induction pot which is what you would need to do if you wanted to cook food you'll see that we have it plugged in right here this is a gfi 20 amp outlet it can also cook on the the countertop as well as right outside winnebago with the electric they recommend you plug in only to this gfi outlet because there are other outlets throughout the coach you don't want to blow a breaker with the amount of power that this uh induction stove will draw right now we are not plugged in so we are dry dock boondock camping so we would need the inverter on as well as the house batteries which we're going to show you the lithium batteries here in a few minutes as we walk along the side of the coach everything else again is going to remain the same with the revel you do have the electric awning we have that partially out just pushing a button and that is also bluetooth control one of the real cool things about the revel as we move along you'll see a lot of the features are controlled by bluetooth which just make it that much more convenient you also have a nice led light and with the bluetooth app you can also dim those led lights which you wouldn't be able to do with just the rocker switch inside the uh the cab entrance door just another feature we have the drain plugs for your fresh tank and your lines we're going to walk inside and take a look at the plumbing here in the back and these are as far as the upgrades winnebago gives you the roof air conditioner uh the coleman ndq as well as instead of the 16-inch rims you have the 17-inch method wheels aluminum and then you have the all-terrain bf goodrich tires which most customers with the revel often are going to purchase and order them that way as well let's take a look at the gear garage in the back on the back of the coach here at the winnebago rebel same thing you have the ladder which we're going to show you on the roof rack system how that works in a second this position for this ladder is just the stow position it's just to mount it it does have a lock now which is great so you don't have to worry about it coming back to your campsite after hiking or mountain biking and it's missing this ladder does have a 225 pound weight limit and it's going to hook up anytime anywhere on the driver's side of the vehicle and it's not recommended that you climb it while it's on the back door inside the back door we also have a second package of the row left screens that have the heavy duty magnet which is great so for blackout for privacy or just screening we can roll this down and roll it up just with the zippers and then you can naturally gain access to your gear garage and that's one of the really cool features about the revel which is different than most other 4x4 sprinters they don't have this large area that when you're not sleeping you can gain access to here we have just an example of some mountain bike a road bike and just some equipment so you can see how nice it all fits in this was my rebel i would certainly have room for the golf clubs because that's also most important to me but inside the back of this you also have your 5 000 pound hitch 500 pound tongue weight with your seven pin connector and you also have the new water manifold system the nautilus that winnebago have been uh installing on the solas as well as the revel the new echo that's coming out this is a much more convenient system to use and the water hookup is only inside this back door but you'll see here with all the the commands how to power fill your tank how to use city water how to winterize it's all very easy and laid out for you so that's your main water hookup with the loft bed right now we have it up to the ceiling you'll see you have some storage nets and compartments but with that loft bed when we use the key and bring it down here to demonstrate to you it does have a 500 pound weight limit and with winnebago's flare outs on the driver and passenger side someone who's six foot four and shorter would have no problem sleeping you know head to toe in the bed itself winnebago doesn't recommend that you store heavy objects on the loft bed for extended periods of time but right now you see how convenient it is just to move it up and then inside the back door we're going to have an additional port for the solar which we're going to explain in a second when we get up on the roof you also have 12 volt you have your your your porch light system and then you have your inverter charging switch right here this inverting charging switch you would need to have in the on position when you are hooked up to 30 amp service that way you can charge the the lithium batteries which are right inside this panel and we're going to now take a look and show you what's pretty cool about the new lithium batteries inside the rear gear garage there's one thing we wanted to show you too when we had the bikes in here we didn't have it mounted but you do have six floor mounts that you can anchor down anything that's heavy that you don't want moving while you're driving but now we're going to talk about one of the real cool features which is different than the original 2018 19 and 20 revel which had agm batteries that were 105 amp hours we have the new lithium batteries that are stored inside the coach the old batteries were outside uh but now with the new batteries you can see here that we have these xantrex these are the lithium ion batteries they're 125 amp hours each they also have what's called the battery heater so you'll see that they're surrounded in a heater so if you are operating the the coach and the lithium batteries in very cold temperatures you can just turn the switch on and that would warm up the batteries all of the features inside the revel basically are very low power or 12 volts other than the roof air conditioner and the heating pot which we just showed you for the stove but you'll see not only is the fridge 12 volts but you have all led lights which are going to draw very little amounts of power we have an led light we just took off the cover just to show you exactly what it would look like so that's one of the advantages you don't have a lot of draw of power in a coach of this size now with lithium batteries one of the these batteries as far as the technology as much as the technology and the construction of a lithium battery it takes several hours to build they also take several hours to test each battery so like we talked about earlier with safety lithium batteries are very very safe because every single battery is going through very detailed stringent exam testing for the batteries just to show that they are operating as they should now it's just something that's really unique with the coach like this because now for the last two years you can actually run the roof air conditioner off of the lithium batteries and the 2000 watt inverter which is now the entire coach inverter not just a single outlet so that's really cool features with the lithium batteries inside the winnebago rebel as we walk around to the driver's side of the 2022 revel we do have your your standard 30 amp rv outlet so if you are going to plug into campgrounds you can also get a reducer that goes down to 15 amp just to keep the fridge cold and charge the batteries and keep the lights on you'll see again the method wheels off-road tires you do have for the great tank which is your dirty soapy water from the shower and the sink you have the main drain here which is a standard rv plumbing drain but one thing that's also unique for the off the grid camping and capabilities is with the five gallon theftford toilet that the rebel has since 2018. it's five gallons of waste water that you just would simply take it out you've got a little handle here very conveniently and then when you get to a dump station or the advantage is now you have toilets that you can just dump the waste in push the relief valve and open the cap and now you've just dumped your waste quickly and you didn't have to drive as far to a black tank credited dumping station it also does have a lock so you can just lock the door since last year winnebago has reduced the size of these larger width running boards just to give you some more clearance for the off-road and then you're also going to have your timberline your diesel furnace system which is for your your inside heat as well as for your hot water system it's a very efficient system made by timberline that winnebago installs and then inside the door here is just going to be your fuel fill for the diesel this is a diesel engine and that is the 25 gallon fuel tank fuel that you're going to use for the chassis which is also going to for the top three quarters of the fuel tank would run off of that timberline system just so that you don't run out of fuel at any time now we're going to use the ladder and we're going to take a a quick look up on the roof to take a look at what's up there is in addition to explain some of the solar capabilities climbing up here on the roof of the 2022 revel there's a few features we're going to show you which is the max air you have a fan here which is great it has the rain hood on it it'll keep bugs out if you were going to be using the fan we do have the coleman air conditioner as well in the back which we'll show you a little bit on the in the inside of the vehicle in the bedroom we do have the roof access port which winnebago has now been installing on most of the rvs which will give technicians or a consumer access to installing any type of a wi-fi or wii boost antenna you do have the bathroom vein vent but you also have solar panels the winnebago revel has two over 200 watts of solar and the system is capable with the ports that are just underneath here from zamp of adding about 500 watts is the maximum that you can take now what does this all mean as far as solar now anyone who has a home solar system would know this i found out when i was researching it for my house i assumed that solar if i lost power would be able to power my home but that's untrue you still need the grid with the solar charging uh the system but you still need the main grid to power up your home solar panels in rv is really not that different because if you would remove your batteries whether they were agm or lithium batteries and just have solar it's not going to run the coffee pot or the hair dryer or any of the devices with refrigerator all on its own it still has to go through the power system of the rv now however having solar is going to give you some advantages each 100 watt panel approximately we're going to talk about it's going to gain you about six amps of power an hour with the sunshine now there's only about five peaks on hours a day so what does that equate to with over 200 watts of solar you're gaining about 60 amps of power a day by having the panels as opposed to not having the panels the average minimum rv user will use about 50 or 60 amps a day up into the few hundred depending on the devices that they are running so it's also going to just give you some additional power if you were going to not only charge your batteries but just a minimum usage to continue and give you that off the grid capabilities that you're looking for by having the advantages of solar panels on the rv now one last thing with solar you notice we don't have a lot of real estate to add more even though the port can take it there are some other configurations using the roof rack that you may be able to add another panel but you can also down at the ground level hook up a portable solar panel just to give you some additional solar usage and power when you are dry dock camping so it's just the advantages of having solar on the rebel as we get down off the roof just one other feature we want to talk about which is the spare tire the winnebago rebel does have a cage underneath which has a spare tire ready that comes standard it is going to be the mercedes the standard 16 16-inch rim and continental tires but you can upgrade that to the same method wheel that cage can also fit that that same exact matching tire and then you could just take the 16-inch rim and tire and just keep it in some storage that's just great because now you have the matching tire in case you did get a blowout or um or any other problems that you would have now let's go take a look at some of the features inside coming inside the revel you'll see since last year winnebago has turned the fridge from the inside of the vehicle and now it's just more conveniently operated and opening on the side of the entrance which is great if you're going to be entertaining and cooking outside you're going to have your switches here for your awning lights again you have your 20 amp outlet here you have the the light for the led running boards which is right here as well and then you're just going to have some of your switches for the outside porch light now when you walk in winnebago did add this grab handle last year which is also the ram tough track mounts which are conveniently placed in other places in the coach you have one right here above the dinette you have one another one right here above the kitchen if you wanted to add an ipad or some other devices that you can just hang in there with brackets and you also have on the front of the bed and on the bedroom wall so conveniently throughout the coach you can move your devices or since the rv does not come with the television hanging an ipad or some other electronic device would be great this little dinette area also changed last year so they have a new table which you can see swivels and in this case we have the driver's seat swivel behind so in a very small area you could have four people either eating or playing cards this also is one big change this used to only have two seat belts that were two point but now winnebago has added a three-point seat belt in addition to the driver passenger uh so it's it's great that for for young children now for safety as we talked about before um that you can have that underneath this dinette is is just a little bit of storage but it's going to house the table extension for the countertop just snaps in like that and you got an extension of the table since it's a very small area inside the coach also right inside this little dinette area winnebago conveniently put all of your your access and control panels right here on this one wall which is great running through it you're going to have your electronics with a loft bed putting the little key in you can just lower and if you want to use the gear garage or to go to sleep at night you also have for the heating system the thermostat which is now digital since last year so you'll get a little bit truer temperature now with with um less degrees of differences you have your 12 volt for the xantrex batteries uh to turn on for the coach you have your water pump switch your tank levels your battery levels you have your 2000 watt inverter which we have on right now we can cook in the middle of a field or on the side of a mountain you can just go ahead and cook and use the roof air conditioner and then you have your zamp solar for the the control panel as we were discussing on the roof one other feature that's pretty unique and it's worth talking about for the solar panel charging system solar panels do not like to charge in extreme heat and extreme cold you can almost think of it as like a marathon runner or somebody exercising when it's extremely extremely cold and well over 100 degrees they're not going to enjoy that as much as far as to exercise and charge themselves back up lithium batteries are really no different they don't want to be charged in extreme heat and extreme cold so what winnebago did was they gave you a a solar panel charging control so that if it is extreme temperatures you would turn that off because lithium batteries will not charge when it reaches some of those temperature thresholds as well so it's just a nice feature just to help control the batteries you have a nice cabinet here this is the silver springs cabinetry which is the gray and white kind of bamboo look winnebago has their owner's satchel has duplex outlet has usbs 12 volt and this would be your roof access port which winnebago is conveniently labeled if you did want to add any other features onto the roof they also added this nice shelf for storage which has the window cab lines up above that was not in the first three model years and then they also gave you this nice little led light which you can dim or if you wanted to get some more light you can turn it on as well that bathroom which has the 5 gallon cassette toilet which we talked about it's also a gear garage in this case we have all of our gear a mountain biking gear with the mountain bikes in the back if this was my rebel then definitely this would be a must to have all of my golf shoes and people who golf with me know that if my golf shoes don't match then i'm probably not going to hit too many birdies that day so it's really important and you can never have enough golf tees with you at any given time but these bamboo shelves are removable and adjustable you have your shower head which you can conveniently change from the shower here to the back shower that we showed you in that water manifold system there and then you have a vent when you are showering to let the steam out and then a little towel rack or you can hang light garments on to let them dry as well so again five gallon cassette toilet very easy to dump and to take it out on the side and then you also have a little door in here for some shampoos to keep things dry and soaps and other anything else that you wanted to have inside the shower it is a bi-fold door that has a lock so when you are driving it won't pop open you do have a thermostat here for the heating system which we talked to have the thermostat there have the fantastic max air fan which you can just turn on and if you wanted to uh for the temperature it's preset at 78 degrees but you can change that temperature if you wanted to and then if you wanted to exhaust the air if you have a dog inside you didn't have the roof air conditioner on so very convenient as well here in the kitchen they did come out with a new sink as far as the uh the faucet is concerned you have a little storage bin have a nice another cabinet right here these are as you can see they go down very very easily and as far as the drawer this drawer which we have the pot box is where you would store that electronic stove top which used to be right here on the countertop so it's saving space just to go underneath you have some other little drawers and then you have a nice little pantry as well that you can just store all of your items and as we mentioned with the bed this loft bed will marry up with the two positions on the side as far as myself i'm not six foot four but as i sit here at five foot nine you can see i have plenty of room to lay on the bed and two people will be sleeping east and west and you do have the ram tough track mounts here on the on the side you have usb 12 volt and that makes up the bed in the uh the loft area if you've been driving rvs for years the one thing you're going to notice in a mercedes-benz sprinter is exactly how much mercedes wanted to ensure that the driver and passenger are very very comfortable not only with the safety features but also with the cool features something similar to all of your your phone controls which are here you have your your speed controls for the adaptive cruise control as we mentioned before we have the uh the low mode assist as well as the 4x4 which you can see is the light is on so it's activated right now and if we would put it in reverse or drive we know that we're in 4x4 mode you have everything from the mercedes-benz user experience i think of this is just like another ipad you can go into your navigation just everything is very easy just to touch the screen and it has the hey mercedes just like anything else uh with technology she'll ask you how can we help if you tell her that you want to find a some fuel station or a rest stop or camping site you can go through not only set up your phone radio the media it also has here the charging you can put your phones here and charge you can hook it up that way you can use your your iphone or android devices to to control with the music and anything else you also have usb ports as well all of the standard mercedes-benz controls and everything that you'd expect from a mercedes-benz deluxe chassis is all here it has the electronic stability control you can lock the doors and just control everything nice and convenient it is a manual parking brake it is not an electronic one so that is also here and you'll see they have the nice carbon fiber look to the the cab chassis but just everything very conveniently located visors just to make your driving experience when you are four by fouring or not to make it enjoyable in the 2022 winnebago rebel but we certainly appreciate you joining us today taking a look at all the new features and like us and share the video and have any questions give us a call at 1-800-265-9019 but from all of us at colonial rv in the jersey coast
