hey guys super bro Mike here and in today's bendy and the ink machine video we take a look at bendy land and the mysterious character behind its creation mr. Bertram Piedmont many of you have asked for an analysis and theory based around Bertram and so in today's video we will answer the questions who is Bertram and what happened to him as well as answering these questions we will also be taking a brief look at bendy land itself as well as exploring the relationship between Bertram and Joey drew based on the facts we currently have so strap in tight as we venture into the weird and wonderful world of bendy land and its creator Bertram Piedmont but Before we jump into this video remember to subscribe to the channel and hit that Bell to be notified every time a new video drops let us begin by listening to an extract from Bertram's final audio recording found in Chapter four from this audio log we learned that Bertram had been designing theme park attractions for many years and had quite the prestigious following seemingly a man held in high regard within his industry and are likely the main reason he was approached by Joey drew to build and conceptualize Ben deal and we see these concepts all around Bertrand's office from this massive central hub which appears to be a model for the layout of a final park to the designs on the walls such as the haunted house for buddy Boris steam train and for bendy trashcans it appears the rides being built for the park were often based on popular bendy cartoons as you can see in these posters this park was positioned to tie directly into Joey Drew's animations themselves for maximum appeal Bertram would have been the architect behind feast designs with the workers below him toiling away in the research and design wing then building them so judging by this evidence Bertram Piedmont was predominantly a designer rather than an engineer and this huge model in the center of his office represents his most ambitious project to date a colossal wonder built for Joey called Ben DeLand but why was Ben DeLand so ambitious in scale to answer this we must look at the relationship between Bertram and his employer Joey drew let's move back to that same audio log and listen to the remaining paragraphs as you can tell Joey and Bertram didn't exactly have a fond working partnership Joey's ego as big as ever clashed with mr. Piedmont who also seems a bit egocentric these two proud personalities found themselves at odds with each other Joey using Bertrand's fame in the amusement industry to woo investors but at the same time making sure to insert his dominance by talking down to his new collaborator he didn't show Bertram respect he craved and this caused friction this divide grew so wide that Bertram decided he would design a park so grand it would be more than Joey could handle however we learn later that Joey drew would try and push Bertram out to silence him and claim the glory of the park for himself this parallels another story that took place years earlier at the studio the story of Joey and Henry it appeared that Henry was forced to do all the hard work while Joey simply came up with ideas for what he wanted to do with the studio Joey never seemed to put in any work himself leaving that to other workers such as Bertram and Henry however he was quick to claim ownership off the work once it was completed this was likely the case after Henry created bendy and Joey been rejected his concept made a few alterations and then claimed it as his own the biggest evidence we have for Henry turning his back on the old workshop some 30 years ago Bertram did not wish to make the same compromise clinging to his work and refusing to allow Joey to rob him of his achievements although this seemingly didn't go to plan so then what happened to Bertrand Piedmont as we start this analysis let's begin where many people assume we faced off against Bertram a common belief perhaps even misconception I often see is vats be carnival ride found within the maintenance department featuring the Giants face of what we must assume is Bertrand Piedmont is in fact for man himself after queuing up a tape recording where Bertram gives a grand speech filled with venomous hate towards Joey drew this ride turns on and attempts to slam Henry into the ground so was this Bertram spate did he somehow use the ink to reanimate himself into a giant theme park ride as a way to stay infused into the very DNA of the park or perhaps as a way to stealthily take out Joey when he least expected it well it's an interesting notion but I don't feel this is the truth behind Bertrand's story this ride was no doubt designed by Bertram and some of the other disgruntled employees working in the R&D department Bert it isn't alive at least not with the soul of Bertram himself instead I believe this dangerous attraction was built as a fail-safe a way for Bertram to get his revenge on Joey drew the man who caused him so much stress and misery this rope spinner would have caused major damage when activated as we can see in this footage here it would have IVA harmed guests all workers or even Joey himself upon inspection this bad press would cause bendy Lander to shut down before it had even opened to the public and would have been the perfect revenge story for a disgruntled ex-employee such as Bertram so instead of being a ghost in the machine I believe Bertram designed this ride from hell to activate upon a certain command perhaps this command came with the playing of the audio log left conveniently right in front of the machine itself baked for an unsuspecting Joey to find before becoming ensnared in Bertram's trap after all the machine itself doesn't speak it doesn't react to seeing Henry meaning it's most likely pre-programmed and it also doesn't smash down directly on Henry's position it's more sporadic and randomized these are not the reactions of a living thing we see very different behavior for example from living creations such as evil Boris and bendy both of these living creatures track Henry wherever he goes no this machine once again is not the Bertram but I believe it was built by him when listening to be audio log of worker Laci Benton we are given some interesting information they see comments but Bertram has been working on this creepy bendy robots and that she believes it is watching her this tells us that while Bertram wasn't an engineer who built of a park he did have the ability to do so which makes sense as he does come from a design and research background so if he could build a robot like this surely Bertram could then construct a ride like this and if he found a way to incorporate some kind of advanced AI into his animatronic then it is logical to conclude a hybrid of this technology could have been included within his bigger attractions and artificial intelligence that could respond to certain commands and attack those who dare approach it after being triggered by an audio cue that is so now we know what Bertram Piedmont was likely doing before he left or rather before he was pushed out of a company by Joey but this still hasn't fully answered the question of what happened to him thereafter it's hard to tell for certain but I do have a possible theory which I'll quickly run by you remember in previous videos how we've talked about these inky humanoids commonly known as the lost ones being the former workers of the studio if not don't worry I'll link you to that theory at the end of this video but it would make sense that if Joey Drew had conducted a ritual using the ink machine for Henry arrived and reactivated it then Bertram may have been caught up with in the initial experiments perhaps Joey could tell Bertram was not happy with their new deal and was out to cause trouble perhaps he even found out about Bertrand's development of this deathtrap and knowing abyss used the ink machine to transform both Bertram and his team into these wretched beings after all we do see cages everywhere around bendy land Joey may have truly lost his mind and enslaved these poor workers for his bizarre and inhumane experiments an interesting Easter egg is found within this ink person who is voiced by actor Joe J Thomas the actor who also plays you guessed it Bertram Piedmont all these fights so a coincidence but also maybe a sly nod to confirming the theory that Bertram refusing to turn his back on his work like Henry did all those years before was then subjected to Joey's diabolical plans and silenced for good damned to a life of eternal suffering as an inky shell of his former glory and that's it for today's video guys I hope you did enjoy it a lot of you have been asking for this theory so I finally covered it for you if there are any other theories you would like let me know in the comment section below and of course leave a comment if you have enjoyed this video along with a like and of course subscribe to the channel for more videos just like this one but for now I will say goodbye and see you all on the next video [Music]
