good morning and thanks for joining us now in January 2016 Paramount Pictures is releasing the movie thirteen hours the secret soldiers of Benghazi who had 36 American lives to save in 2012 they're joining us this morning yeah kris kris paronto aka Tonto also we got John TIG Tegan former farmer marine and also mark dice we're gonna call him off today he's a Marine good morning did you forget that Tonto was a ranger right let's get that he's a ranger Rangers better than any of these dang sorry Marines to carry them all night but it's all about Brotherhood yeah we like to watch them dance so I mean it's a good news Ranger thanks kid I feel like I'm on the quiet storm radio right I love it you have such a great attitude for doing what you do and going through what you did did you realize that you're kind of being you were almost on your own I mean we had we had each other so we weren't on our own I mean we you know last for coming and support yeah whatever it came in it came in but you know we never felt like we were talking on her own because you know we had each other and trust each other you know but there were six of this and six of us and like a hundred of them so it wasn't very fair and they were totally outnumbered and they had the Ranger get close to the compound because they know the Rangers can't shoot as well that's pretty amazing how did you ever come in contact with afar did you ever come in contact with the guy who was actually which one oh the one that they when they rounded up no he was all around doing a lot of interviews yeah yeah I mean we may have been out there but we didn't see him anyone mastermind and all that that was all no yeah it was spin it was just just a haul all spin if he was there he was there if he wasn't you know we still don't know so our federal government so how do you think what do you think about our federal government do they intentionally turn a blind eye to some of these threats that are serious dangerous you know it's hard to it's not for us to say oh yeah we can have our opinions on things I think I think the world's a dangerous varied is getting more and more dangerous I don't think we're responding to it as we should but again that's just that's that's from an operators of peanuts from a guy on the ground actually and we all of us spent you know multiple years 10 10 plus years overseas so I think we have a good opinion about things work over and and terroristic countries but it's it's a I their spots hasn't been as it needs to be and I think where she's seen the effects of it in Benghazi was kind of like the birthplace of it almost with you ok all right so when we talk about dangerous places you've been you fought many of you have fought South America Central America Middle East North Africa beautiful resort towns everywhere all of them really what's the most dangerous of them all the states it's you know it's hard to say which one's the most dangerous does it all depends on what happens in you know the situation and the environment at that time because anything can go from you know zero to 100 in you know a few seconds and you just you got to be prepared at all times no matter where you're at to deal with whatever is gonna come your way really you get off the plane and they're all most the Middle Eastern countries it's the same when I walked up from the plane in Yemen it was like I was walking off a plane in Kabul it's there just there's so lacking infrastructure so lacking just security in itself just daily security where you can walk down the street and not get blown up that every one of them is dangerous everybody every one of them has good things about them too beautiful culture some sometimes beautiful infrastructure those places are ancient so it's not just you going these places this is awful where terrorists you find some pretty neat things over there but as far as the level of danger our Middle East unless you're in Qatar you're in Dubai every one of them dangerous and it's really a source somewhere and North Africa so John rule us this when it comes to dangerous places what's the most dangerous a situation that you have encountered we got blown up on the roof and you know they took him and they take his clothes off make sure you have any other holes of you know it's done scariest thing I ever saw in my life yeah yeah I got injured in Benghazi I was on the roof when tying Glenn got killed they were standing beside me in the same explosions I killed them I was injured did you guys have any time to diffuse after Benghazi our soldiers just keep marching contractors are doing let's being contractors and once getting back from from Libya no you don't have that you don't have that decompress time you have to decompress on your own and it takes a toll on families because you can't just go on because of who we work for he couldn't just go out and talk to anybody you know if you wanted to talk to a shrink or whatever you want to call them they had to be certified through the agency and and you know being in was in Colorado there is a no certified shrink would believe you guys right then the story's a pretty bizarre yeah unless you find somebody that the agency has somebody for you and after after Olivia after Benghazi and after the firefight there was a lot of things going on that the actual it didn't happen you know with the spinning of videos and so forth so um our biggest therapy are mine at least I think the rest of guys to NAS was injured is going back overseas that's our therapy is going on and it's difficult to come back and it was hard during that timeframe but also when we did the book in the movie that has been very therapeutic for 13 hours that was we've done for writing a book and then also with the movie itself they had it's been cathartic and Rangers can use big words I said cathartic and I know what it means this project you know I did I yeah I was my word of the day on my calendar but it has been it's been great so if you had to I'm just so glad that Dodgers family is received it there they're there do the insurance they're still getting some of it and they I've got a lot of that Glen Glen Doherty bub who passed away that night on the rooftops yeah they fought a long time for they're still fighting a bit his sister Katie Quigley she's been fantastic trying to get make sure they get what they need from the government insurance but he gave his life up there he gave his life on that rooftop and any sacrifice in it and I don't think the family was treated as well as I should have been okay I say that for all military I don't think military gets their fair shake their fair do when it comes to benefits no lost your paperwork I'm so sorry yes across the tea and that I was not dotted so what was the first meal you guys had when you came back and I me and I me we were we went well that was Germany though that was Germany said yeah I encounter when we went to Chili's on a chilly forty jollies chill but I got back in the state they left me in the hospital they went we invited on and had drinks and I know you know she could walk it's a crutch injuries being blown up as a crutch so is this the mentality of the special forces is that there's no downtime you gotta have downtime it's just fun fun downtime witnesses downtime for us we're just enjoying we're having a good time thank you thank you when the movie comes out without letting the cat out of the bag but really comes out what can we expect I know we're gonna see Brotherhood we're gonna see the bond band yeah yeah of course Michael Bay's good day he was really good it because they don't give him a lot of flack they shouldn't they shouldn't he's done a great job it's kind of funny how you can give somebody black when you don't even what the movies even about and you know it's just kind of it actually goes back the whole Benghazi thing anyways people were out there spewing what they thought it was before they even truth even came out and you know it's you know just like the Libyans are saying well in the movie they're gonna portray us as bad people well how do you know Avenue seems little movie and we didn't they're not well know you know the the average you know and as its depicted in the movie I mean there's good people and bad people on in every aspect of it you know the Libyans the everyday person that went to work or owned a shop they were good people they all they wanted was a country where they can you know send their kids to school be safe and live you know everyday and be able to feed their kids and you have an environment that is taken over by you know because there's a vacuum well rebels its power-hungry people that want to take over and you know manipulate and dictate to the people what they want so they can have their own power and in doing that you know it's power and control and that's where you know with the movie what we want people to see is what happened that night during those 13 hours that we were engaged with these guys and how the Ambassador and Sean Smith and Glenn and Ty sacrificed their lives for what we in America here take for granted we're gonna show that terrorists that's what we're showing we're not showing that because we weren't attacked by good people a bit that didn't attack us we were attacked by terrorists we were attacked by Ansar al-sharia and al Qaeda the Margaret that's the movie that is what the 13 hours is oh and you know it will show some parts of and I'm sure that we do have we did have some friends over there I mean there was what it was it there was a gentleman that night that showed up out of nowhere and was shooting next to me Olivia just kneeled down right now I never know never saw nominee he just got in the firefight with us and was on our side right in the middle of right in the middle of the battle at the consulate so it may not known in America know I hate I do that why you know I was Mexican I mean I you look Hispanic which because I am thank you gracias it's the critics there's gonna be haters and now we're gonna be critics on Michael Bay which is he did it's fine I mean you're always gonna have that troll sitting on his computer her computer in basement because that's just what they do and we've we've understood that we accept it because it's just part of life but Michael Bay and did 13 hours correctly and he was the right guy for this type of movie and he treated us with such respect I was I got nothing but good things to say about Michael Bay and I always will he's earned my respect from this whole process do you think the book or the movie is going to be depicted in your eyes well that's always if the book is always yeah more accurate than any movie right because you can get every it's 13 hours you can get 13 hours into a book you can't get 13 hours in the two-hour movie so I think that goes without saying with any book that's gone to a movie you're always gonna have the books always gonna be because you can spend more time and can be more detailed well I am so glad that you joined us today how many tours how many what city tours are you guys on right now thank God you can't get City number six I think all seven yeah seems like it's been since November first we pretty much seems like we said I don't remember when we started in the US as we do we do public speaking in between two so we're doing stuff on our own we'll go talk about yeah so it's not just this I mean we'll have a day off and like oh let's go do a speaking event somewhere so it's been it's just like being deployed again she's proud of you we're proud of you you wanted to shout out to the family I know your secret service so we can now we're do we're done we're out now the cats out of the bag do you think came out of closet okay hi hi mother how are you my little guy he's my little boy how you doing Bob look out those other teams out there thinking about getting in the military would you do it highly recommendable inpatient very seldom in life can you spend quality time build a bond and a brotherhood with people of so many diverse backgrounds come together and those bonds that you build through the military through adversity will carry you through life and I mean I think that everybody should have - should experience that I mean because you know you realize that doesn't matter just like you know there's been in places I've been the Iraqis have saved my life I've saved theirs lives I mean people that you wouldn't think that you have similar or similarities to you do in certain situations and get rid of all this worrying about differences and face the similarities more more so and focus on those there's no diversity when both starts flying yeah I'm not gonna find anybody black white yellow it doesn't matter your brothers and your knit together you should go into politics you got it no no I'm doing it I'm running for president no no you know this ain't this ain't about her it's about because the politics over took this whole story in the very beginning and both sides left and right spun it to meet what they wanted instead of focusing on what should have been and that's the sacrifice that you had four Americans had died and those four Americans should have been honored and continued to be honored every day as the soldiers that give their lives should be honored every day and not spun to be a political thing for their benefit I mean the first like actually the only thing or memorial thing anybody ever did was a firefighter out of California he paid it out of his own pocket made a plaque and another group of guys came together and got a big boulder like a granite boulder and a bronze eagle and that was the very first whatever happened to the floor guys truth doesn't need me politicize the truths truth whatever side of the fence it lies on it lies on it's just how it goes well I'm from aa respect there's no side it's not a side the truth I mean everybody else decides if they're gonna put it on a side the truth is what it is and come see the movie and gain the experience and the mood and they read the book watch the movie and then know what happened that night on the ground and then add to whatever else you've heard and decide from there but don't don't discount something because of a word or a name I thank you soldiers I want to thank you man thank you you heroes and lady countable why do they keep giving you a heart because I'm the Ranger and they're two Marines and they always got again but you can help do this yes with your pinky thing maybe that's why there's you're still saved how many saved him so many times because they can shoot a name on the wall fell on me and the Marine helped you don't even test because I hate touching that tiny hand it's all deformed yeah chicken wing you're awesome that's our guy thank you very much thanks for hearing us out and letting us have a voice yes you always have a voice call me down oh yeah thank you
