network brought to you by brought to you by sylvan hills bears i'm jake hall i'm going to be the head play by play guy starting this season and this is my co-commentator dylan davis say hey dylan hey folks we're uh excited to be here with you this afternoon uh it doesn't quite feel like football yet it's still 100 degrees outside but it's here and we're excited i'm excited to get this season kicked off the the bears have got a good outlook for this season they got a lot of returners on the offensive line which is going to help them in their flexbone offense and what they run they're coming off of a disappointing loss in the postseason last season but they're hoping to get a good rebound and started off good with just this nice scrimmage right here yeah you're right last season ended pretty disappointingly uh actually right here on this field mountain home came home came in here uh beat him in the first round of the playoffs and that was it for 2021 for the sylvan hills bears but they have senior quarterback gavin tenor returning and uh there's high hopes for 2022 and that starts tonight with the scrimmage against forest city yes the coaches are uh they lost a lot of key pieces last year and a good couple good running backs on a linebacker and uh so they're the defense is going to have a little bit of growing pains but that offense is the offense should be kicking nicely with the strength of their whole team being their offensive line in the we got three seniors on the offensive line braden crowley josh lawrence and braum smith all three seniors all three ready to start this season and make it memorable anytime that you can return seniors on the offensive line that's a huge advantage to your offense that's going to be the core for what sylvan hills wants to do and those guys being experienced and back for their senior season is uh is going to be a huge bump for this offense this is going to be chris hill's third season as head coach [Music] looking at a 17 and a 6 record i believe he's going to be uh real excited to get this season started uh we the defensive coordinator said that they have a lot of rotation going on on the defensive line as of right now but the main guy is going to be jane foster up front as uh senior so look for him to be making a lot of disturbing uh plays against that opposing quarterback this season yeah in a big rotation on the defensive line that's not always the worst thing right i'm sure a lot of that gets sorted out here tonight as you uh they face their first uh out of uh their first competition other than themselves um however you want to keep those d-linemen fresh you want to keep them rotating in and out throughout the game so having a nice rotation at the defensive line position is going to be a huge help absolutely we're about eight minutes away from kickoff so we're looking to get things started here [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay and welcome back to again the sibling hills pregame show uh we're gonna go over the schedule real quick and the sylvan hills has got a pretty pretty nice schedule only uh two two long road trips so uh they're looking at a pretty decent schedule uh starting this fall they're starting off uh it's gonna be the first game the first game of the season is going to be on the 26th against the maumel hornets and that's going to be at oh i take that my mistake it's at home actually home game against maumel which is a is a good plus for them because mammals uh seems like they might they're gonna be losing a lot of players but they're definitely a tough team to go against yeah starting off the season hot against uh cross county rival mall mel uh that's gonna be a great game and i i'm looking forward to calling that one as well oh me as well me as well i'm also looking forward to the the game after that which is gonna be on friday the ninth in september uh is at bitten away that's my alma mater they've got a pretty good squad this year i understand that's going to be uh two teams that look to factor in to the 6a state championship picture at the end of the season we're getting that game in week two so that ought to be pretty exciting both of us being from celine county we've definitely got some history with benton that's for sure me being a bryant alma mater and him him being from benton we used to be on the uh uh opposite sides of each other but now we share a booth so how about that and then uh on the third game of the season we have uh cersei at home which uh i i'm i'm not too familiar with cersei but i'm pretty sure that they are they like to put it put a good team together uh year in and year out that's another good squad they uh won the state title not uh too long ago i believe it was 20 18 was the year that they last won the state title they're expecting a good team back this year as well uh again that's a team that looks to factor in uh to the 6a playoff picture um sylvan hills has their work cut out for them through the first three weeks of the season absolutely that's kind of a it's it's a pretty rough start to the schedule but then uh and then right after that they get here with the the longest road trip of the season against wet uh at west memphis that is going to be a one long road trip but they i'm sure they're going to be hoping to pull that one out as well it's a very winnable game out west memphis look for them to uh be in a good spot after those first three games of the season going to west memphis looking to pick up a win absolutely and then we have uh sheridan at home which uh sheridan sheridan at home they uh i believe they're returning some seniors so that should be a good good matchup against this good offensive line of theirs and then we have jacksonville away which that will be that's not too far of a drive so that you always love to see that on the on the road schedule then we have highway 67 some people are calling it battle highway for 67 huh and then we have catholic away as well so it'll be the bears against the rockets that'll be i believe uh i'm not sure if they uh did they face off against last against each other last season i'm not positive i'm not sure about last season but i do know that's the week me and jake step up to the big leagues we're going to be in that one memorial box that's been blessed by some of the great such as chuck barrett and paul yeah you know we're excited for that one for sure definitely circled on my schedule and then we have uh and i think we're gonna hold on a second because i think the national anthem will be coming up soon good evening all right looks like kickoff is about to be underway four cities under head coach ronald lewis uh and uh an assistant head coach patrick shepherd uh they're looking to they're looking to get a good they're looking to get a good game under their belt kicking deep for the four city broncos is going to be octavian washington which there will be no kicking game tonight folks i believe what how this uh what i've been told is they were going to they're going to kick off and then it'll be a dead ball as soon as it's caught and i believe they're going to start somewhere between the 20 and 30. back deep for the bears will be number 41 cleo pin and number three colin billings coach is going to come together for a little chit chat here it looks like maybe waiting on some referees it looks like to me i'm not sure what they're waiting on that must be what they're waiting i don't see any on the fields well while we wait on the stripes to show up let's finish out that schedule see what they got going for the rest of the season that's right we have and then after the catholic game they're going to have el dorado at home el dorado at home that be happy again to not be on on another long road trip for the bears then we're going to have marion away and then perigold at home to finish out the season so uh that schedule looks pretty nice to me so hopefully the hopefully they get a good uh they get a good bounce starting today it's going to be an exciting season for sure and it looks like the referees have made their way onto the field here comes the head official now looking like we're getting ready to get underway i don't know about you dylan but i am ready to get this season started i've been waiting for football season since the end of football season so i'm very ready to get it started and this is the my first taste of it right here that's right the weight ends today and i couldn't couldn't be happier to have finally reached football again here we go a short kickoff and it's going to go out of bounds and dead ball i guess since there's no technically no kickoffs for the scrimmage today that's not going to be penalized but definitely went out of bounds yeah it looks like they're going to start from where the ball went out of bounds right here so let's see if that offensive line trots out it's exciting to see that offensive line anchored by the three seniors uh for what this offense wants to do it's key to be good up front and having those senior leaders is definitely a huge help tanner with the tenor with the pitch to colin billings up the left side going past the 50 up to the 45 and brought out out of bounds uh around the 43 i didn't see who tackled him out of bounds so that was a great burst of speed right there from billings just a sophomore running back with with some great speed and that's where this offense gets exciting right he pulls it out of the gut of the dive back pitches it to some speed on the corner and you let's see that running back depth as he uh skirts up the sideline for a nice game looks like a bit of a hurry up they're going pretty fast here tanner with the handoff to harris again up to the 30-yard line right up the middle that's going to be another first down for the sylvan hills bears and you saw that senior offensive line at work right there there was a huge hole for the running back to run in and he routed off a nice 15-yard run on that see 10 are under center again [Music] hitter takes the snap and hands it off uh hands it off to cleopam but he is met in the backfield early by forest city four cities all over that one that was a pretty nice defensive play from number 11 there saw the motion uh never hesitated and went and made a play that was a good tackle by cindy owens right there just way to shoot shooting to the backfield must have been a missed block right there [Music] a pitch to billings again and it's get again met in the backfield by number six uh jamante flanoy for the from forest hill mustangs listen let's see what they do here when they get behind the chains like this this is our first chance seeing them behind the chains let's see it let's see if they do anything different or if they're going to go with another pitch and these are the situations sylvan hills has got to try to avoid this season right they're not an offense it's going to pick up third and 15 all that often so they've got to get get their yards on first and second down and stay ahead of these sticks and keep it in third and manageable here this is not really their game this is not really what this offense is designed to do that's a timeout by sylvan hills so let's uh say they want to get a regroup right here and come out with something nice to try and get this first down yeah coach chris hill can't be happy after those last two plays going backwards is not the direction he's looking to go they started off hot with those with those with those first two big runs for probably about 45 yards right there and now they get stopped in their tracks and now it's third and 15. as it sits now it would be a pretty long field goal we may see maybe in fourth down territory here we'll see how chris hill plays it it's gonna be a false start on uh sylvan hills bears i'm not sure who i saw somebody move up there but i'm not sure who i saw a move and then now we're going to get third and about 20. now they're really behind the sticks here so let's see if they they're gonna see if they try to do something different than what they were about to run right there i think that's to be another false start right there let's see if they oh they're going to call it an off size penalty against uh the mustangs i believe i think oh no it is they they're going to call it a false start against the bears so put them back to uh third and 25 now looked like to me that the defender broke the neutral zone there but hey it's pre-season i'm not sure if they would have uh i'm not sure if they would have tried to go for a field goal there if they would have got stopped on that third down but now it seems like the field goal is definitely out of range uh for kicker gonzalez of the bears yeah we're creeping back into punt range as well it's gonna be handoff to uh to dylan harris once again going up the middle but it's stopped uh it stopped short of the first down well short of the first down only for about a three yard gain let's see if they're going to go forward on fourth down and get to pump formation what i've noticed so far about the sylvan hills team though is they have some real juice in the backfield when they get some room to run some room to operate they make positive plays they've got some good looking kids back there it's just about giving them some space to operate you know if that offensive line can really just get things going and get up to that second level it's that offense is going to be dangerous this season looks like we're going here on 4th and 20. tanner takes the snap he's going to pitch it to number 41. cleo pin he's going to go up to the right side going up the 15 10 5 touchdowns bears cleo pin with a great run up the right sideline what a touchdown by cleopain i mean can you can you ride it any better than that for 20 and we're gonna we're gonna run triple option and we're gonna pitch it and get up right up this sideline for a touchdown go ahead and send that to send that one to hollywood because that's a movie script right there i'm telling you give these back some room to operate and make a play for you absolutely the offensive line got a great push and cleo pinned with that speed just shot out the right side and there was just no stopping him he weaved uh to the left and right all the way up there pretty good unit last season but they lost some key players so they're looking to kind of rebuild that defense we'll see what that looks like here in just a minute they uh they lost a couple all-state players one all-state linebacker i believe and i think they had another all-state defensive lineman but uh this is a new season so uh and this uh from what the defensive coordinator said is they might have a little bit of growing pains but they should come on later in the season so hopefully they get it started off right right here number 42 gonzalez with the kick with a kick right here gonzalez was a with a pretty good kick there's going to be all the caught all the way back at the one yard line and it's going to be a dead ball and i believe let's see where they where they're going to start it off at looks like we're going to be first in 10 on the 20. first and 10 on the 20. so immediately off the bat i see sophomore trent mason starting right there at the nose guard position quarterback for forest hills is going to take the snap handed off to the running back and he's met right at the line of scrimmage by the bears just that was a pretty good hit by number 45 jeremiah smith that was a great hit by the junior linebacker right there that was just a it was a great hit met him at the line and he had nowhere to go right there yeah that was a great read and a great finish right there from the linebacker looks like this defense is excited to be hitting someone other than their themselves as they look to be flying around early intercepted by number 25 intercepted by number 25 stephen scales he was just he was just right in the middle of that passing lane i'm not sure if the the quarterback saw him right there but he threw it right to him and he got a good five-yard gain after the catch and now it's going to bring that off that the sylvan hills bears offense right back on the field and it's scoring range yeah that ball did not come out of the quarterback's hand well at all i couldn't tell if he got hit or not yeah like you said that was a lame duck that went right into the hands of sylvan hills it's going to bring 10 around tenor on the uh back onto the field and let's see uh see if they can't punch it in again right here [Music] yeah you've got to capitalize on situations like this tanner with the handoff to harris i believe again and he gets all the way up to the five yard line that was a huge hole and a great finish to that run very physical runner that's what you gotta have in this kind of offense with the snap again handed it off to uh number 32 i believe but it's for a touchdown i didn't catch that number yes 32 we're gonna mark him down at the one it looks like titus stout with the touchdown so that was going to bring out that kicking unit once again that was just a pounding and uh pounding on the ground for that touchdown i think they're going to call him down oh they did call him down on the one yeah a little miscommunication between the stripes there okay there's the touchdown just go ahead and seal the deal again titus stout got the second chance at it right there to score a touchdown that was a good great two runs back to back for stout right there and it's going to bring on the kicking unit that's what you want to do right your defense get you a turnover you're in excellent field position you've got to capitalize sylvan hills takes three plays goes right in the end zone tell you what number 32 titus stout he's living up to his last name he looks like a physical runner out of the backfield and it's up and good oh no good for number 42 gonzalez he just uh might i think it looked like it might have been a bad hole might have just uh just barely missed it right there but it was right to the right oh so it is good i it looked good to me but then and the guy said it and then the referee said it was no good must have just been mistaken right there it's uh pre-season for the referees as well everybody makes mistakes isn't that right dylan we're all trying to work out the kinks still a little rusty at the uh beginning of the season right here all right so now this bears defense comes back onto the field after getting a turnover last time out that's obviously performance they'd like to repeat getting all forward kicking off for the bears again is gonzales number five uh stone back to receive it's another deep kick down all the way into the but by number 60 carter manus they did give him a first down on that mustangs takes the snap hands oh he uh he keeps the ball and he tries to cut it up field and he is just tackled by a host of uh defenders right there the bears met him in the backfield probably for a loss of one right there that's a great job by the back side of that defense staying at home you get the action going away from you in the quarterback coming back on the naked boot and they were ready for it that looks like something they might have seen uh practiced on film all week this week because they were they sure did look ready for it quarterback takes it and steps back he launches it down the left side of the field number four is was right there and it slips right through his fingers rashad washington was right there just left slipped right through his finger he had been he had beaten the corner on that play but he just couldn't come down with it yeah sylvan hills was fortunate that one didn't go for six right there that was a a pretty good throw from the quarterback just right off the fingertips of the wide receiver he did everything right right up until the catch yeah carson fuller third and long let's see if the bears can crank up some pass rush here carson fuller with the snap and he steps back once again it's going for the same target it looks like oh there's an out route and it's caught by number four this time gavin it's a rashad washington are they gonna say that was a catch right there or was he on the ground i think they are but i think i saw it hit the ground oh looks like the looks like the referees are going to call holding on that play so looks like they're going to have to walk it on back after a decent catch catching gain right there by the mustangs yeah the fourth city quarterback had plenty of time on that play because they were holding that forest city uh offensive line looks like they're doing doing pretty well especially in the middle there they are really creating some holes for their running back up the middle but uh seems like they can't really hold off the speed of the of the linebackers and other defenders uh in that in the secondary for uh for uh sylvan hills takes the snap again it looks like he's going to try to scramble and he is going to go down sacked right there by number 60 for the bears carter manus with a with a huge sack right there on to to force a fourth down and long right here let's see if they're going to punt or go for it it looks like they're going to go get into punt formation for city is what it so that's just a clutch tackle right there by uh by manus to really just put him in a tough position yeah it looks like they were trying to set up some sort of screen over there and for whatever reason quarterback didn't throw it looked like to me they had some room to run but nonetheless it'll be fourth and long for forest city sylvan hill's getting the ball back let's see who they have who do they have back there i can't see that number for the return for the returner is that number ten joshua patilo looks like he's going to be back for uh for the return on on punts here but it looks like uh for there's gonna be a four city timeout right here so it's gonna be a little bit of a break i guess they wanted to readjust where their coverage is about to be running but yes that uh on the return on the return squad it's going to be number 10 catching the catch catching the punts carlos stevens my mistake carlos stevens catching uh catching punts on that on returning right there yeah i mean what a start from sylvan hills right already up 14 to nothing uh four cities backed up fourth and long they're going to fix them to punt about to get the ball back for sylvan hills and see if they can go up three scores i mean i don't think it could really have been gone any better for sylvan hill no that was just a a great great three and out for the silver hills defense right there tyman lee is gonna be back to punt for the four city mustangs and again when he catches this uh oh he muffed the snap right there when he catches this punt there's going to be a dead ball right there and they uh and their offense will come out start their drive at about the fifth uh 48-yard line right there so we'll see what sylvan hills can do with their third drive of the game here there's yes third drive of the game starting right at the 50-yard line right at midfield for the bears so let's see if uh see if they can uh uh gets to get that run game uh going again and see if they can't uh bust it up the middle or run off the sideline to see tenor's gonna take the snap under center and he's gonna hand it off to number 33 dylan harris again up the middle for a good six yard game man i'll tell you what if sylvan hills can rip off seven yards on first down every play this is uh this is gonna be a team you don't want to see late in this season tanner with the snap he's going to keep it he's going to take it up the left side and he's going to it looks like he's going to get enough yardage for the first down that's gonna be another first down for the bears right there with a five yard gain yeah it's a good tough run from the senior quarterback there got hit right at the line of scrimmage bounced off a guy kept his shoulders down and picked up the first down like you were saying dylan if they can stay ahead of the chains like that it's gonna be a hard team to stop even i mean even when they were behind the chains they got a good first down from 25 yards earlier exactly not on offense needs to get 10 15 yards tenor handing it off to number 32 stout again just just bullying his way up to that 30-yard line for a good eight-yard gain that's where this team needs to be right second and short a positive gain on first down sets them up nicely their whole playbook's open here on second down we'll see what chris hill sends in and see what uh sylvan hills has for us here on second and three billing's in motion right there he's going to pitch it to billings and he's going up the left side he's got some room and looks like he's going to be brought down just uh in about the 20-yard line for another first down for the bears you can't be a skill position player in this offense if you're not going to block and on that play that's what cleo pin did he worked his butt off to get out there to the outside and get that block on the cornerback and that's what actually sprung billingsley for that nice game taylor takes a snap and he's going to step back and launch it to number 42 wide open 42 brian gonzalez just wide open in the end zone for the touchdown what a throw and catch from tenor to gonzales right there touchdown bears man what a play that's what this offense can do to you right previous plays they had two receivers wide come out that play that's a much more tight set they had the tight end the receiver was about three yards off the line of scrimmage and what do they do drop back and throw a pass gonzalez trying to get the seven pointer right here after getting that touchdown we're going to try to get finish it with one more and it is good from gonzalez he's got the seven points right there now that's what they do they like to reel you in with that run really in really in and then next you know over the top right there and he's just wide open yeah this isn't an offense it's going to throw it 40 to 50 times a game but when they do throw it that's what they expect it to look like right when you see ron rudd run as a defender it's very easy to start creeping up start cheating a little bit and that's when uh chris hill's gonna call in that play action pass play and you're gonna see what you just saw and that's somebody standing wide open the end zone for a touchdown you know chris hill loves to see that uh from their offense right there there's about two minutes left in this first quarter and uh this game is going just about as about as well as the bears could ask for right here we're gonna see their uh their defense come back out onto the field after this kickoff right here and uh so you know chris hills has got to have a smile on his face right now yeah and if you're for a city here you've got to stick to what you've done well so far which is that they've ran the ball decent to start this game uh where they've kind of run into some troubles they maybe get uh try to get a little too cute if you will for lack of a better term with the passing game they've ran the ball well to start i'd suggest they they stick with that see if they can't get something going offensively got a late man coming out from forest city and uh gonzalez with the kickoff again and it's going to be uh a little bit short out of bounds at the 10 yard line uh let's see not a live kick off so bring this out to the 20. they did throw a penalty flag for kickoff out of bounds on that one but i don't think it's gonna be enforced yep they're gonna be able to start their own 30 since it went out of bounds right there i believe 35 yard line okay let's see if four city can't come out here and get something going again they had something going with that passing game because uh sylvan hills is not uh bringing too much pressure right here but it's hard to get that passing game going when the running game isn't going either yeah that's a good point quarterback checking for the play doc and scott back at quarterback takes the snap hands it off and he's just swallowed up in the backfield by number 33. dylan harris just just takes him down in the backfield barely even uh held on to the to the handoff right there yeah my goodness he was all over that one uh drug his blocker right into the quarterback and made the play i believe i believe we're gonna be saying dylan harris's name a whole lot this season so it's a it's good to see him get a good great play in this big start of the season right here yeah the seniors off to a great start this game dawkins scott again with the pass up the left off the left sideline but it is just too short but there was definitely pass interference right there by number six uh josiah rainey it was just uh he just was not looking back at the ball and uh number four tried to turn back for it and he just was just his momentum took him right into the wide receiver right there yeah that's a tough play as a cornerback right there i mean that throw was so bad it's it's almost like he's covering a punt yeah just couldn't find the football and it ends up landing about 10 yards behind him and the receiver coming back through him to get the football is going to draw the flag there it it's definitely harder to cut to stop something like that when uh the ball was so short i mean he just couldn't do anything but run into him right there okay so they're going to bring the ball up to the 45 now pretty close to midfield about as far as forest city has been so far this game let's see if they can capitalize on it dawkins scott with the with the handoff to number 29 he breaks it up the middle and he's still running and he gets taken down at the at the 40-yard line with a good first down for forest city right there that was a good looking counter play out of forest city there running back had a lot of room to run yeah yeah i don't he almost looked a little surprised once he came up the middle he was so wide wide open right there there wasn't anybody standing in front of them last time four city was out in this four wide set they tried that screen pass we'll see what they do oh and he's taken down in the backfield by a host of bear defenders right there they were not going to let that go anywhere yeah sylvan hills is all over that play that's what you want to see out of your defense gang tackling you might break one tackle you might break two but you're not gonna break 11 tackles that's a fact they got four wide receivers uh on the far on the far side of the field right here see scott with the with the snap again he's gonna go far deep left side and uh number two was not not turned around in time for that pass so he did not see it coming but there is a flag on the field i think he was looking for his crosser over the middle there that was a tight window he was trying to squeeze that into and that was just behind his intended receiver number eight a little shaken up on the play let's see what this penalty flight is gonna be roughing the passer i believe on the bears i did not uh i did not see it but i was too too focused on the pass right there but uh that's gonna be a 15-yard penalty i believe uh so they're gonna march another 15 yards and be in pretty good uh pretty good field position right here and uh with a chance to score with the uh first down for four city yeah fresh shutter downs for four city inside the 30. it's time for sylvan hills to bow that neck and go ahead and make a stop here dawkins scott with the snap handoff to murphy and he jukes the defender in the backfield and he gets up about five good he gets a good 10 yards right there for the it looks like it might be a first down from forest city i think we're gonna be looking at second and short but yes dylan harris was close to blowing that one up in the backfield again uh running back made a nice move and was able to find some running room and make it turn it into a nice gain that's going to be the end of the first quarter the score 20 uh sylvan hills bears 21 and four city mustangs zero but they are going to have a chance to score in this second quarter yeah we flip sides here we'll have four city coming back second and two uh for 20 yard line and we'll be back at the second quarter [Music] [Music] and we're back uh dawkins scott takes the snap oh that's not dawkins scott uh it is dalkin scott he's up the right sideline and that's gonna be a touchdown for forest city right there that was number 15 dylan uh dalen washington just a quick right right out of the right out of the start of the second quarter they just explode into the end zone right there yeah that was a nice little play design right there out of forest city they had all kinds of room over here on this right side that was so fast i'm not sure if the bears defense was quite set right there to to be honest with you but uh number six for the four city mustangs is going to go for the extra point right here jamante flenoy and the cake is up and it's no good a little bit short off the tee right there but they at least got six points on the board so at least kind of makes this a little bit more interesting of a game so let's see if the silver hills bears offense is going to be able to respond right here yeah that was a nice drive out of four city marched it right down the field help from a couple of penalties on the sylvan hills defense uh but we'll see see if this offense can come back out here and get that one back you know you can uh when you uh benefit from some penalties i mean you'll take what you can get on offense is what i always say you know you can't be sloppy on defense because i mean that's just a it's just not gonna help you in the long run 15 yards is 15 yards no matter how you get it that's that's very true very true not sure a few ladies and gentlemen at home can hear it but the pa announcer you hear it bill blackwood field is a character let me tell you all right i'd like to get him a chance you got to come see a game in person just for the pa i'd like to get i'd like to get him on the broadcast because he's would be one heck of a guy to talk to at the end of one of these games he sounds like a pretty busy guy poor city with the kickoff and a little bit better of a kickoff than the first go-around but it's going to be picked up at the 22 and that's where they will start their drivers all right is this uh offense trots back out onto the field this feels like a big drive for both sides here this feels like sylvan hills can can kind of put this one not away but but have a comfortable lead if they score here if 4 city comes up with a stop that's gonna be a huge momentum shift for them tanner with the snap and uh they just and then finishing play once the ball gets there and doing everything you know rip it out yeah man when you're in man coverage like that you got to have hands to the face all right so let's see dylan dawkins scott again with the snap he's stepping back again looking right and he dodges the defender but he is just leveled back there by number uh turn to the side can't see his number number number 10 number 10 carlos stevens would just brings him down in the backfield with a couple of defenders right right right on his tail quarterback was looking looking the same way looking for this one-on-one down here at the bottom of the screen had great coverage that time as well uh but that sylvan hills pressure got to him before he could make it decision and that's going to bring up a third and long for the mustangs right here we've got dawk and scott ready to take the snap once again they take the snap again and then he's pressured once again and he get he tries to get out of it but he just couldn't get back to the line of scrimmage and that's going to bring up a fourth and long long right there that's going to be about fourth and fourth and 19 i believe man the pass rush for silva hills has looked pretty good to start this football game uh that one play that they almost brought down uh just a minute ago they they saw how much time that quarterback had and they said no more of that and they started bringing some pressure it looks like yeah that's already two sacks and a quarterback hurry for the silver hills defense it's a great start for those boys up front see forest hill four cities still trying to get organized here looks like we'll have a timeout for city all right so the bears turn it over but the defense comes out and gets a three and out just what you needed put your offense back on the field and let them go make up for that that turnover on the last drive you know i've heard it said many times the defense is uh they're like the they're like the firemen of the football team whenever the offense if the offense leaves a fire out there on the field with a turnover you've got to go out there and put that fire out and that's exactly what that defense just did right there nine minutes left in this first half they're gonna come back out and see a punt from the mustangs number 10 is going to be back to receive carlos stevens i'd like to see what stephen stephens could do in the return game uh too bad it's a dead ball dead ball scrimmage right here stevens is going to catch it at the 30 yard line and that's where exactly where the bears offense is going to get started [Music] yard mcphee raylan mcphee the sophomore comes into the game he's gonna hand uh pitch it to number six and he's got all sorts of room at the right side and he's gonna be gone up to 30 20 15 10 5 touchdown bears number six josiah rainey just with all sorts of room and speed just up the sideline but i see a flag unfortunately this one might be coming back let's see uh oh and it's going to be a holding on the bears unfortunately at the 50-yard line that's just a shame because that was a beautiful run by rainey right there just all sorts of speed up that right sideline yeah once he uh once he got the corner he he was gone there was no one else gonna catch him in the stadium but unfortunately for the bears you're gonna get called for holding here and that's going to negate what was a uh 70 yard touchdown you know but that uh at least seeing that flash of speed you know it makes you wear uh makes you definitely look at uh look at him he he's gonna be dangerous yeah young guy just a sophomore with that kind of speed that's definitely someone that can contribute now mcphee with the snap the pitch is back to number 23 and he tries to get away from a defender but he is brought down in the back field about four yards deep and that's going to bring up a third and two for the bears right here city did a good job of stringing that one out if you're the running back there again another young guy sophomore joseph thompson you got to put your foot in the ground get your head down and get what you can get right there yeah he uh that defense was all over him right there and he he tried to string it out but there was just nowhere to go for him third and eight here for the bears is again not where they want to be i'm third and long but we'll see what chris hill draws up for the young quarterback here and see see if he trusts him to put it in the air or not [Music] all right mcphee with the snap again steps back and he breaks a tackle but he's brought down for a sack about five yards deep behind the line of scrimmage that's gonna bring up fourth down for the bears unfortunately he tried to break those tackles but just could not get away yeah they were looking to set up the screen there uh four city had that one pretty well defended there's nowhere nowhere for mckee to go with that football he didn't have a thing he'd just eat that one rather than then turn it over he did not have a lot of time right there so uh luckily he held on to the football at least so maybe they can flip the field right here you know that's got to be a positive sign out of your young quarterback right that's just a sophomore he's got the play call is a screen um however he noticed the screen was covered and he just tucked the football and tried to get but they're good they're going to bring the offense back on the field mcphee's under center once again what was this is this a timeout or false start i think that was oh yeah delay a game against the bears is going to set them back even deeper and i think now they're going to bring out the punting unit right here try to flip this field that's going to bring out number number 20 zy clayton for uh for for the punting unit oh i my mistake tyler scott for the punting unit [Music] tyler scott takes a snap gets a good punch looks like he's gonna back the back the res uh the receiver up all the way to back to the 42 yard line with a pretty decent punt right there from the bears and the four city mustangs are going to start their drive at the 42. yeah that was a pretty good punt um now the sylvan hills defense gets come back out on the field see if they can't shut the door one more time here before half now coach told us pregame that he was expecting some growing pains on this side of the football however i don't see too many growing pains they've led up to six points but um you know a lot of that with some penalties if they can clean that up they're looking at a goose egg on the scoreboard right now no this defense since uh looking pretty good that seems they they have filled some of the holes up nicely of of the some of the leaving seniors from last season we got number 15 force for force for city right here dalen washington taking the snap and he hands it off but he's met in the backfield by a host of bears defenders once again [Music] yeah the bears had that one sniffed out pretty good and came up made the play it's gonna bring up a second and eleven for four city right dalen here again back for the snap catches the snap and he's looking to pass right here and he passes up the middle and it is caught by forest city number four rashad washington that was just a great catch with a defender all over his back i believe yeah the quarterback had a man in his face he was able to hang in there and deliver this football hold on we have a flag on the play that was a nice catch out of the wide receiver too db draped all over his back that may be the call here let's see uh still waiting on a call still waiting on a call looks like they just picked up the flag and it must have been must have changed your mind right here oh no we got a conversation going on with uh chris hill over there first down for the mustangs right here is going to be on the 45 yard line taking the stab number 15 and he's trying to cut it up field but he is met again by the by the bears defense just couldn't uh couldn't cut it up field in time right there as they were just swarming to the ball kanye williams the junior was all over that one doc and scott back into the game at quarterback [Music] takes the snap steps back oh and he's uh he fumbles the ball and he just falls on it about five yards back behind the line of scrimmage that's going to bring up a third in about 15 it looks like yeah looks like the ball just slipped out of his hands there i didn't i didn't see anyone maybe he uh bumped his hip on his head i think he rared it he rared it back so fast it just flew out of his hands i believe he just because i don't believe any any of the defenders touch that ball right there scott takes the snap steps back and he's looking down the right sideline scrambles out right and he's just going to keep it and he meets a defender rough right there number 20 number 25 steven scales or scales with the tackle meets the quarterback right before they step out of bounds and that's gonna be uh looks like a a fourth and uh 11 maybe right there that was a big collision right there in front of the fourth city bench got them all fired up but nonetheless it's going to be fourth and twelve for four city dawkins scott definitely wasn't gonna go down without a fight right there stepping out of bounds but a good tackle by scales yeah that's a great play scott takes the snap again steps back he's scrambling up the middle this time and okay and then he takes it up upfield and he only gets about three yards right there uh the defenders were pressuring him right there and he felt the need to scramble and he just could not get the first down kanye williams again with some serious pressure uh right in the face of the quarterback forced him to step up take his eyes from downfield at that point he just had to tuck that one and try to get what he could that's going to be turnover on downs for uh for the mustangs that's gonna bring this bear's offense right back out onto the field uh looks this bears defense is not giving up a lot after that first touchdown [Music] yeah another stop for the bears defense got to be pleasing for the defensive coordinator jacob jacob reynolds mcphee back again to take the snap takes it and he hands it off to 45 and he gets about two yards up the middle right there jeremiah smith at that two-yard run yeah just the dive there two three yards big fee again mcphee takes the snap hands it off again to to jeremiah smith for another it looks like he can only get back to the line of scrimmage right there and that's going to bring up third down [Music] before city did a good job defensively up front getting off blocks and going to make that play again that's the first that's the first step to stopping this silver hills offense is you've got to stop that dive play everything else comes based off the dive play rainy in motion it cuts back and it's pitched back to number 23 but it's fumbled and it is picked up by the forest city mustangs in the backfield oh just uh just doing that is not what you want to see right there when it when it comes to this flexbone offense uh you just cannot see that happen uh looks like a miscommunication uh just a mis one missed step right there and it results in a fumble yeah the quarterback uh didn't look like he really had a very good grip on that ball as you went to pitch it uh and again that's that's a young quarterback making a young mistake that's something that he'll learn for and correct that's one that he's just got to tuck and uh get up field and try to make something positive out of a bad situation you know that's why they have these scrimmages you want to work out these kinks you know before the season really gets it really gets going exactly if there's ever a time for a pitch to land at the pitch man's foot it's today number 15 with the snap hands it off to number 28 and he is met hard by the by that bearish defense number 24 number number 24 uh draloon holloway with that with the with a tackle right there again the sylvan hills defense is flying around if the first guy doesn't make the play the second guy is the cavalry's coming just hold on it's gonna be about second and eight for the four city mustangs right here four city coming out in a double set here and they hand it off to number 12 and he's met the backfield looks like a fumble but uh they are going to blow this play dead as he was already on the ground when that ball popped out yeah that sylvan hills defensive line is is really starting to have their way uh they were they were three yards deep in the backfield pretty much when that ball was snapped it's tough to run any kind of offense if you have pressure right up the middle like that every play we've seen a steady rotation at that defensive line number 15 takes the snap and he can he just cuts it up the middle just a qb run right there and he gets about five yards but that's still going to be about fourth and six for him right here i guess they'll give us a little leniency here in the in the preseason but i thought they caught us with 12 men on the field there you know they might have just got that snap off in time before they could get the count off about three minutes left to go in this first half 15 takes a snap and he chunks it downfield down the right sideline and it is just a little bit overthrown uh number uh number two kaiman lee was there was the receiver he intended right there but it was just a little bit overthrown and it couldn't they could not connect got four city and an empty set there with a single receiver down here on the bottom of the screen uh anytime they've gotten that one-on-one they're they're attacking that match up um it's been successful once but they've struggled uh outside of that one time sylvan hills has done a nice job uh on this island down here whichever cornerbacks it's been uh making sure that's a tough window for that quarterback to throw the ball in too braylon mcphee under center once again for the bears right here to start this drive and he hands it off to number eight zion mansfield and he's brought down about two yards in the backfield for him right there he was just swallowed up by a host of uh mustang defenders right there yeah big number 55 from four city blew that one up from the start if he takes the snap and he hands it off once again uh to mansfield and there's just nowhere to go that defensive line is just really closing down the gaps in the middle right now yeah making it it's uh tough sledding on the inside the last couple trips for the for the bears we'll see what they do here on third and long uh with about a minute 50 left in the half we'll see how aggressive coach chris hill wants to be here take a timeout it's gonna be time-out bears right here let's see they're gonna see what they can't get going on a third and ten play with about a minute and a half left to go in this first half so we'll see what we come out with out of this timeout but we let the play clock go just about to zero before we called that timeout so i'm not sure uh if chris hill is going to go for the end zone here try and pick up this first down or if uh we'll be content to just let this run out into half we'll see what he's got in mind you know we've seen some good plays from both teams so far in this first half i think there's a lot of teaching moments for uh for both uh for both coaches right here um and i i really think this is going to be a productive game for both of these teams for the rest to kick off their season oh absolutely i mean these are the games that you know you can't put a price tag on how valuable these are to a program this is a chance for not only your first teamers to get out there and and work against another team but also you can get some young guys some playing experience under the lights and just see how the how they respond absolutely mcphee again under center and it's pitched high for uh to number six rainey and he tries to and he hauls it in but he is going to be stopped uh short of the line of scrimmage about the two yards behind it that's gonna bring up fourth down it was a high pitch for rainey to haul in right there and by the time he caught it there was already two defenders all over him yeah that was a nice job from from rainey just making sure he caught that football you know on a play like that if you get caught looking down field looking to pick up some yards that ball is going to go over your head and uh likely picked up by the defense so that was good on him to just make sure he caught the ball first and uh try and make something out of nothing once he once he secured the football number 26 back to punt and it's gonna be a time out for a city right here to stop the clock so they could try to see if they can't score before halftime right here i think i think the bears called that timeout the uh play clock was running out oh is that oh oh my mistake that is exactly what happened and that's another thing that these games are good for right uh getting your special teams on and off the field is a struggle for for a lot of programs and um a game like today is is a good it's a good time to get in a game situation and work on those things as you see sylvan hills had some issues getting the punt team on there um and that's something that they're going to be able to work on in the upcoming practices leading leading up to the season those are the plays that can hurt you when it when it comes down to the season you're talking about you know one two three maybe four plays that define the outcome of a football game and you don't want it to be something silly like uh having to burn a timeout trying to get the punt team on the field and when it comes to when it comes down to playoff time that's when those little those little tiny penalties can really bite you especially when you're when you're up against when you're up against a quality opponent and you know those those little penalties can really bite you tyler scott back for the punt for the bears right here and the punt is away it is a pretty good punt right there caught by number eight for forest city right there dj sinclair and that's going to bring the mustangs offense back onto the field and the bears defense all right so four city's about to get the ball here in very good field position on the 38 about a minute 13 to go i would imagine they're going to be pretty aggressive throwing the football here trying to trying to get some points on the board before half but like we've said you know when they come and get this one-on-one coverage down here at the bottom they like to throw that away uh so we'll see if we come out either in that three by one or that four by one look that they like so much [Music] and they're gonna bring out doc uh doc and scott at quarterback right here to see if they can't get the points on the board before halftime right here we're gonna go with the four receivers bunched to the bottom of the screen the pistol set scott takes a snap he's looking right and it's caught by number four before he steps out of bounds what a catch by number four i didn't he was falling down as he made that catch right there uh rashad washington with a great catch right there down the sideline right at about the uh 36 yard line that was an unbelievable catch out of number four that pass was was a bit of a lame duck just floating out there and he was able to come back and make a very nice play on it that pass hung up in the air a long time scott with the snap again he's looking right once again and he's up the right side and he just overthrows washington d they were just not going to be able to connect on that throw right there yeah i think we've figured out who his favorite receiver is gonna be number four mr washington but the bears had that one pretty well covered looks like they were in a cover three and so they had that double cover down there plenty of time still left for four city to get some points on the board they are definitely knocking on the on the door of the red zone right now so let's see if they can't try to get to get a few more yards and punch one in dawkins scott again up the right side to number two this time but he is out of bounds when he made the catch that was uh kaiman lee with the catch but he was out unfortunately out of bounds and that's gonna bring up a third and ten right here and it's gonna be a time out for for forest city right here they're going to talk it over and see if they can't put it put up a scoring play right here so if your sylvan hill is coming out of this timeout you've just got to be aware that four cities gonna want to use their athleticism on the outside and get up the field and beat you deep so that's what you got to look for coming out of this timeout i'd expect expect them to come out in some sort of zone to help prevent that um but we'll see it it's definitely seems like force city wants to rely on their athleticism on the outside to get open downfield yes i think head coach ron lewis definitely thinks that uh he's got some weapons on the outside and he wants to take advantage of their athleticism [Music] sylvan hills cornerbacks have done a nice job accepting the challenge you know it's it's it's a really simple route that they've been running but you know if you run it a hundred times you're bound to catch a couple of them and uh just done a really nice job only allowing them to complete two of those passes uh on the game so far so it doesn't matter who it's been down here cornerback they've done a really nice job of squeezing that window down dawkins scott's back for the snap right here [Music] catches the ball uh fake handoff play action right here and he scrambles left there's a lot of room for him though number eight back for a block and he might have got the first down right there and i believe he does uh scott just scramble just did not have any time on that play action immediately scrambles left and gets about a 12-yard gain to bring a to get them a first down yeah i thought they had him in the backfield for a sack for sure but he was able to escape to his left and showcase some of that speed and get up the sideline and pick up that first down the ball's on the and they're gonna start this fresh set of downs on the 24 right here clock is running at 20 19. 18. scott catches the snap and he's chunks it right again for number two but he oh he just overthrows him by a hair it was it went it it might have just slid across those fingertips right there but it was a little bit overthrown so they did not connect hey had his man on that play just overthrew him just a touch that's when the quarterback would probably like back he was uh pretty open down there on the goal line but 12 seconds uh here for four city they got time for two plays if they're quick and get out of bounds uh two shots to the end zone we'll see what they like to do but a ball carrier brought down inbounds will likely end the half here we'll see what four city elects to do and again mustangs are out of timeouts here so uh so they definitely want to either get out of bounds or get an income uh or score a touchdown right here and he scrambles right daca daca scott and he's a forced fumble right here from the strip sack by number 10. number 10 carlos stevens with a huge strip sack right there and it's recovered by the bears no that is not how you wanted the drive to end but if you're the mustangs right there but just a great strip sack by stevens again this bear's defense this defensive line is getting after it we brought a little pressure that time and it paid off in a big way carl stevens out here looking to make a name for himself he's made a few great tackles today now let's see uh let's see if uh mcphee is gonna take a knee right here and take us into half with only four seconds to go or if they're gonna run a play right here and he's gonna take a knee to take us into the half right here so uh the score at halftime 21 bears and six mustangs that was just a great first half to watch we're going third quarter underway after a pretty eventful first half right there with a couple nice scores from the bears yeah looking forward to getting the second half started here uh we'll see what kind of personnel we see out of sylvan hills in four city i think we're gonna go uh with some young guys on both sides of the football here uh for the rest of the second half uh and let these guys get some experience under the belt yeah i believe it's gonna be uh the jv squads on both sides of the ball right here and uh we're looking to i think it i think they might be having a running clock this whole second half but i'm not positive but we'll see how we'll see how it goes once we get started here got about 10 seconds for the uh for that uh horn uh horn blows yeah i think we're going to see a little bit of time added to halftime here silvan hills just got out of the locker room yeah we're getting some stretches on the underway and the the clock has struck zero but looks like we're still gonna go ahead and get some stretches in make sure everybody's nice and stretched out don't want to see any cramps out there on the field it is a hot one out there today yeah definitely definitely pretty warm uh it's a day you don't want to let the bananas get too far away from you make sure that you're drinking plenty of water while we wait for the second half to get underway here uh i wanted to talk real quick about the first real game week one maul mill's going to come to town that date is going to be the 26th of august friday night that is uh shaping up to be a very good one and i'm i'm excited for it i think that's going to be our pcssd game of the week i believe uh as that is one of our uh one of our sister sister networks or they're we're all under the same umbrella here so i'm looking forward to get uh getting that game underway uh our our pal steve's gonna be calling it from the other side and i'd love to see if we can't uh see if we can't get a win over our pal steve over there that's right it's gonna be a little natural state sports network uh on natural state sports network violence out there like you said it is our game of the week we're going to be on the big channel it's not our game of the week that that's my fault that it's going to be robinson at pa it's going to be our pcsd game of the week oh we've been robbed all right we've been we've definitely been robbed i'm crossing my fingers over here but looks like i was wrong well i hope robinson beats pa by 50. i i i hope so too i'm i'm always cheering for our uh for everybody uh with the pcssd's sports network for sure but when it comes to sylvan hills bears that i'm going to be rooting for them all the way yeah it's nice to see the the trend that a lot of these pc ssd football programs are headed in uh you've seen not only the level of play on the field go up but the facilities as well continue to get better continue to get updated across the county across the school district and that's always a good thing that's always going to attract more people to the area and that's that's always good to see mills has got a couple breakout stars on their team well from what i've seen a couple guys that i believe are going to have a bunch of d1 offers they might uh they might be going to uh some big schools over there yeah i believe they got a defensive end that has piqued the interest of uh even the one nick saban i don't know if you've ever heard of him i believe his name is charlie collinsworth if i'm not mistaken uh you might i might be mistaken on that last name but i believe his first name is charlie and he is uh he is quite the defensive end that's for sure but uh let's let's go ahead and get this second half underway with the bears kicking off this bear's defense gets a chance to come out on the field first here in the second half we'll see what some of these young guys can do looking to earn some playing time on friday nights brian gonzalez with the kickoff and it's going to be deep and to the left and it is caught at the two yard line by number nine for uh for the mustang no number five for the mustangs stone let's go if we can get that kick every time throughout the season we're going to be in a pretty good spot that was a nice kick oh he's he seems to be pretty consistent with uh consistent with that kick i'm going to bring this mustang offense out onto the field and see if they can't get anything going unlike they did in the first half looks like sylvan hills is going to go with the same group that closed out the second half on defense and number 15 out as uh for the quarterback for the mustangs right here dalen washington washington with the snap looks to the right hits his receivers in the hands right there number seven aidan boyd but unable to hold on with uh a few defenders around yeah that was a great play out of number 34 smith the sophomore he was in his own coverage there and what you can't do in his own coverages is not work you've got to find work in the zone coverage that's just what he did he had his head on the swivel found that curl made the play washington again with the snap and he's going to hand it off to number 12 and he gets to get some room up the middle and he's still breaking tackles all the way up to the 30-36 yard line that was a great run by number 12 daniel rolfe right there with the hole opening up wide open in the middle yeah he broke several tackles uh would be tackles from the sylvan hills bears on that one bears got to do a better job of wrapping up and bringing your hips on contact make sure you get that ball carrier on the ground washington with the snap hands it off to number 12 again up the left side and he's gonna get a get it all close to that first down marker tackle by number 16 justin watson there's going to be a flag on this play i think we're gonna they're gonna get four city for holding here no official call yet penalty was holding against the mustangs right there it's going to back them up to get them a long first and 20 it looks like again with the snap fakes the handoff makes the tackler miss in the backfield going up the right side he's gonna go ahead and scramble and he's going to get brought down by number by number one justin justin brown the junior he's gonna fly up and make the tackle to keep him just about first and eleven oh first and nine my mistake that was a very nice play by the cornerback justin brown over there there was a lot of room for that quarterback to operate he made a very good tackle in space uh was able to bring him down one on one that's quarterback that we haven't seen go down too easily today so to be able to make that one-on-one tackle in open space is a good sign it's good open field tackle way to wrap up for sure washington with the snap hands it off again up the middle number six jamante flannoy with the run and aj diaz number 77 with a tackle to bring up a third and about three or four third and long we'll call it a long four for four city uh you know this is a down and distance where you got the whole playbook open here we'll see what they want to do the bears got to be sure they read their key here washington with the snap again he's looking left and he goes deep left side fives wide open oh but it looks like there's gonna come on now he he didn't have a chance to make the catch because 16 is gonna get called for a pass interference on the uh for the bears right there and again we saw that in the first half that's just it's one of those situations where it was such a bad throw the cornerbacks just kind of stuck in limbo there and uh there really wasn't a ton of contact that both the defender and the receiver were just kind of standing there waiting for the ball to come down but nonetheless sylvan hills is going to be hit with a pass interference you know i'm not sure what you're supposed to do right there when you're playing man coverage i believe it's coach that you want to keep your eye on your man so you don't want it so turning your head is a difficult spot right there for you so it's very easy to just run into the guy if he stops yeah it's just a just an awkward play really washington again with the snap he hands it off and he's just swallowed up in the backfield number 54 keyshawn jones with a huge tackle in the backfield there was a couple other defenders there to help him that's gonna bro that's gonna bring up a second and four but uh or a second and fourteen but there's a flag on the play as well yeah i think uh offside jones got a little excited there was maybe lined up in the neutral zone it certainly looked like he got a head start oh it's a personal foul face mask on the defense it's gonna bring up a fresh set of downs for the mustangs right here it's gonna put the ball at about the 26 yard line four city has three receivers bunched to the top his receiver by a lot right there but he had him wide open running into the end zone yeah again that's just another missed receiver from before city quarterback uh they've struggled to complete that pass today it's been open at times and they've just struggled to complete yeah it is going to be a running clock in the second half as the clock has not stopped even though that was an incomplete pass number nine again with the snap and he's gonna be swallowed uh hands it off and he's gonna be swallowed up in the backfield but he might have got a head got about one yard out of that play yeah i mean it looks like this the sylvan hills defensive line knows the snap count i mean they're in the backfield at the snap of the ball a lot of them almost untouched it's making it very difficult on force city to get anything going offensively give the guys credit up front gonna be third and twelve here for the mustangs at about the 30-yard line so let's see see what they can't get going right here the bears in the backfield already number five i think he tried to catch it but it was incomplete uh out of bounds it would have been uh fourth down either way but the sylvan hills bears came up huge right there that defensive line was all in the face of that mustang quarterback the pass rush has looked very good this evening you saw it again on that play uh once again four city going with the with the single receiver to the bottom side of the field here creating that one-on-one matchup and looking looking to attack it keyshawn jones and kanye williams really made an impact on that quarterback's throw right there hands it off up the middle breaks a tackle breaks another tackle and he's gonna go to the 10 to five and he's brought down at the three yard line by justin brown just nobody could bring number number 12 down right there and that was a bit of a busted play it looked like the quarterback was trying to keep it uh ended up stuffing it in the running backs got the last second and he turned it into a very nice play he not stumbled he would have walked into the end zone dawkins scott is back in at quarterback four city with four receivers bunched at the top of your screen takes the snap he's gonna hand it to rolf he's gonna break a couple tackles and he's into the end zone for a touchdown mustangs just the bears could not stop him right there when he was running up the middle that's unfortunate for the bears but they're gonna bring and bring on the extra point unit to try to get an extra point right here yeah bears defense a bit on their heels after giving up the big play there uh but give credit where it's due for city did a nice job opening up that hole up front and rolf was able to walk into the end zone on that one yeah mustangs had some good blocking up front right there so for sure credit where it's due number six jamante flenoy is going to attempt to kick right here and it falls just short and uh and it's going to be bears on the offense again once again in the uh with about two and a half minutes left in this third quarter you know if i was a gambling man i would be willing to wager that four city will not attempt too many pats this season i'm gonna say they're gonna be going for two quite a bit i believe you're right unless they can get that kicking situation figured out i believe they will be going for two quite a lot looks like it's gonna be mcphee at quarterback again so there's gonna be no kicks at all in the second half as it looks like they are just gonna start uh start at the 20-yard line believe it's mcphee again back there at quarterback mcphee takes the snap hands it off to mansfield and he tried to break a tackle in the backfield but he gets uh pulled down for about a two yard loss right there tackle made by barnett for the mustangs right there it's gonna bring up a second and about 13 for the bears right here not much room to operate there for mr mayfield the young sophomore mcphee takes the handoff again against it to mansfield and he breaks it up the middle for a good 12-yard gain right there but still not enough for a first down but gonna be about one yard short but that was a great burst of speed from mansfield right there look it looks like they will give him the first down and what a difference a play makes right first down he had no running room turn around run the same play the other direction on second down and you got a hole big enough to drive a mack truck through you know uh determination on his part there was just been nothing going for him no room to run and he just and he finally gets a hole and sure enough he breaks it for a first down mcphee hands it off again oh he pitches it to 23 and he's got room on the left side he's going up for uh the 45 fit and gets brought down just at the 50 and it looks like there's going to be a flag at the end of that a face mask gonna be another 15 yards tacked on number 23 joseph thomas with the run on that play good burst of speed brought down by aidan boyd yeah what a run right there from thomas we'll see what this flag is it looks like it came out on the tackle it's going to be 15 tacked on for a horse collar horse caller against the mustangs going to tack on another 15 to that well for to that really what well-run ball right there okay back under center now the ball is at the 36 yard line the whistle is blowing i believe that's going to be the the quarter that's going to be the end of the third quarter right there there was no horn sound and they're just going to go ahead and start the fourth quarter up right now i believe oh no they're going to give them a play right here before the fourth quarter starts pitches it back to rainey rainey gets hit pretty hard right there by number five the heat uh nahima stone that was a good tackle by stone and they good uh good attempt by rainey to to break it breaking up that right sideline yeah not much going for the bears on that play before city did a nice job sniffing that one out coming up and making a tackle now i think we're gonna start the fourth quarter here second and nine for the bears uh the clock the game clock is not running right now so i'm not sure what's happening but mcphee takes the snap hands it off to mansfield tries to take it up the left uh the left side and he gets pulled down by 25. barnett again in the backfield there was just no room to run for mansfield yeah that might be the tallest player on the field tackling the shortest player on the field that looks about right he's a tall guy for sure third and long we'll see what chris hill sends in for the bears again got the young quarterback mcphee in the game we'll see how much of a lead she gives him on this one mansfield comes out and laughlin comes in to take his spot mcphee still under quarterback takes the snap hands it off to laughlin up the left side and he gets brought down about four yards past the line of scrimmage tackle made by eddie williams and that's gonna bring up a fourth and about six yards for the bears and i think they're gonna go for it yeah kind of no man's land here looks like looks like we're gonna go the fee takes a snap fakes the handoff pitches it back to number one justin brown he gets a few yards on that play gets brought down about two yards after the pascaline of scrimmage and that is gonna be a turnover on down for the bears and the mustangs are gonna bring their offense onto the field yeah look like we had some room to run out here and the uh four city made a nice play cornerback didn't give up any ground forced us up field and they were able to make the play short of the first down i'm gonna count okay we on a play count right here but 23 takes the ball at the left sideline number 23 joseph thomas with a good run up that left sideline but we are on a play count i'm not sure i'm not positive what the play cl what the play count is going to be for each team right here but it looks like it is over for the bears right here and now the mustangs are going to come onto the field with their offense so it's going to be 10 866 for the remainder of the game right here and now uh so the the mustangs are going to have a 10 play drive and then and it's going to go down to 8 for both teams and then 6 for both teams sorry folks this is a little confused i haven't done a a pre uh a little pre-scrimmage game like this so i wasn't really positive on the rules that that both coaches had agreed to but either way the mustangs offense comes onto the field and let's see what they go what they can get going right here number seven is back there at quarterback for the mustangs that is aiden boyd before city out in the double set aidan boyd with the snap he's gonna be looking left and he chunks it left a good ball but eight just could not catch up to it that was dj sinclair and he just could not catch up to that one it was just a little bit overthrown yeah it looked like a pretty nice ball out of his hand i was a little worried that was going to be completed for a touchdown here but he threw him just a little too much to the inside of the field number eight wasn't able to track that one down now that puts four city in a tough spot at second and ten we'll see what they what they draw up on this one ain't boyd back there for the snap hands it off cuts it up the middle and he gets hit hard by number 52. samson with a huge hit on the on the running back right there running back is slow to get up i think that was just a huge hit by samson right there yeah it looks like number three wants to come out of the game after that one samson laid the wood to him pretty good there that's what you like to see in these preseason games it's tough to draw any conclusions uh but if you see your team out here flying around out here laying the wood hitting hard that's uh always something that you can take into the first game of the season aidan boyd back there again he's back to the pass oh it's a screen pass and it just goes right through the hands of the wide receiver stone he just could not uh catch on to that ball yeah it looked like they had a little confusion going on there not sure if the quarterback knew exactly what the play was there looks like they had the screen set up initially but he couldn't get the ball out to him in time hands it off to number 28 matthews but he is met in the backfield by keyshawn jones just a a pretty big uh hit right there with a bunch of other bears defenders swarming to the ball another play for mr keason jones he's looked very good here in this scrimmage i would imagine you'd see his name move up the depth charts here in the next coming days leading up to the season as he's been impressive on the defensive side of the ball we will definitely be saying his name throughout the season i'm sure because he will be getting playing time takes the snap and he's looking up the left side again and he's gonna have to turn back number five catches the ball and he's just wide open to the 30 20 15 10 5 touchdown mustangs has number five the stone just turned back for the ball and the quarterback fell down and there was nobody that was going to stop him again that that same situation right they had single coverage down here on the bottom uh went to attack that again it was looking like it was going to be the same result an underthrown football that falls incomplete but unfortunately the receiver was able to track that one down and get into the end zone that narrows the lead down to just three right here i wish i wouldn't be surprised if they went for two but i think they're getting in field goal formation right here i don't know for sure but i i think that that's part of the scrimmage we got going here is they're not gonna go for two not gonna go for two okay that one makes sense then number six is gonna attempt the kick jamante flenoy and it is no good as it goes under the bottom crossbar and that's going to bring out this sylvan hills bears offense once again this drive will be starting i believe at the 20-yard line once again yeah we'll see who the bears bring out at quarterback uh it's been mcphee the last couple series we'll see if they stick with mcphee or elect to go with another young guy looks like it's still going to be mcphee under center yes and it is mcphee going back under center once again mcphee takes the snap hands it off to number 13. he cuts out the right side and he gets walloped by number 24 number 24 iverson edmonds with a with a big hit on the running back right there laughlin tried to cut it up but there was just nowhere to run and uh edmonds just met him right there when he when he tried to cut it up yeah it looked like there was some room for him to run and iverson edmondson comes out of nowhere and lays the wood to him to shut down that play it's gonna be second and seven it looks like for the bears under under center once again mansfield in the backfield hands it off to mansfield cuts it up the left side tries to break a tackle and he could not do it and i think he might have had a gain of about two yards on that play which is going to bring up about a third and three that's pretty good effort out of mansfield there that's a play that looked like it was going to be stopped in the backfield and he he he kept those legs turning and was able to get a couple of yards out of it puts his team in a third and short that extra effort from mansfield right there definitely put him in a good position to get a first down mcphee takes the snap pulls back he's going going deep to number 34 wide open down the field but he is cut he is brought down by number four rashad washington number 34 uh nehemiah smith with a with a with a long deep catch man it doesn't happen very often but when that quarterback stands up in this offense and throws it deep it's exciting baby let me tell you they had about two guys down the field wide open right there so the quarterback had his pick of guys to throw to yeah but two two receivers were behind the defense on that one he picked his tight end number 34. excuse me his his half back number 34 mcphee takes the snap pitches it back to 34 34 off the left side breaks it breaks another tackle gets up to the 20 yard line and pushed out of bounds by the mustangs right there but that was a great run by number 34 nehemiah smith yeah what a run from smith on that one broke a few tackles showed the speed there again the the running back talent for sylvan hills on display here tonight is they have several guys coming out of that backfield with some real juice and 13 takes the ball right into the end zone wide open nazir laughlin up the left side just a hole opened wide open and no one was gonna stop that man going into the end zone yeah huge hole on that play just right up the gut on the dive for sylvan hills you like to see the success on the dive from sylvan hills again that's that's what this entire offense is based on they've got to have success on that play if they want to be successful as a whole gonzalez with the kick once again and it is good that's going to stretch their lead to 28 to 18 gives them a 10 point lead on in this scrimmage game right here tell you what gonzalez's look pretty good on those p-80s he's looked pretty steady on kickoffs and pats i i i'd be really excited to see how uh how good that field go leg is see how uh how how long of a field goal he can kick yeah and i mean you know with the high school game if you can if you can make a 30-yard field goal you're probably you know in the 90th percentile of kickers across the state so just seeing those pats go through the uprights is very reassuring those uh single points can really come back to bite you at the end of a game the mustang offense is going to come back out onto the field aidan boyd is going to be in a quarterback to take these snaps we'll see if they can block keyshawn jones on this play it's been a problem for him tonight hands it off but he is just brought down in the backfield by a host of bears defenders 14 and keyshawn jones bring him down in the backfield he just had no chance right there yeah just like i said they've been struggling to block keyshawn jones he was the first one on the backfield on that one couldn't quite bring the running back down but he definitely blew that play up four city out in their patented double side aiden boyd takes a snap hands it off and he's met again in the backfield 54 keyshawn jones making a name for himself in this scrimmage he is all over he's all up in that backfield every play it seems like well being the nose tackle he's the closest one to the football before it snaps and being the player that he is he's the closest one to it at the end of the play as well he's been all over the place they uh they just simply cannot block him again in the backfield wait uh waiting to snap takes the snap he's gonna pass it goes up the right sideline number two wide open catches the ball and he's uh and he's brought down around the 48-yard line number two kaiman lee with a catch i'm not sure who made that tackle but he made a fantastic catch carson fuller with the tackle at the at about the 46 yard line that was a great pitching catch for for the mustangs right there yeah we've seen that all night out of four cities split the single receiver out wide create that one-on-one match up and throw it up and let your guy go make a play aidan boyd with the snap again looking at the left side throws it out to 20 and just just throws it a little bit out of his reach right there yeah that ball just sailed on on the quarterback there got to make sure he sets his feet and not completes that throw to keep that from selling on him you know getting those getting those stop routes right there getting those stop routes down a good throw is gonna it could really help on those long deep balls that they love so much yeah definitely being able to establish a little a little 10 yard out route would go a long way to keeping those cornerbacks honest aidan boyd with the snap again hands it off to number six breaks a tackle and he gets about five yards and the ball comes out after he had hit the ground but that's about five yard run for number six tackle made by a couple of bears defenders right there yeah it was a little speed sweep there from forest city looked like they had some room but sylvan hills was able to get out here and make the play before they got going boyd takes a snap looking to pass up the left side to number 20 he's open and he makes the catch right down the left sideline number 20 was it was in his face zai clayton was all in all in the receiver's face but he could not uh stop that catch right there it was 20 on 20 right there number 20 for the mustangs eddie williams with the catch up the left sideline for a big game yeah that was a great throwing catch right there from four city and here's where our play count comes into effect we're gonna turn it over here and give sylvan hills a turn so they're gonna start this drive uh at midfield right here mcphee still back at the quarterback position mcphee takes the snap hands it off goes up the middle and he's met at the line of scrimmage number 30 jacoby anderson with the run right there met at the line of scrimmage it's going to be a timeout bears right here they couldn't get their formation together before that play clock was about to run out so they are forced into a timeout yeah look like they had a little confusion there might as well just go ahead and burn the timeout don't want to waste one of these plays on you know being discombobulated want to make sure that you get everybody on the same page and run the run the play you want to run absolutely these plays are pretty valuable when it comes to the rest of the season just trying to get the get the kinks worked out and see what you need to work on before that first game uh at the beginning of the season mcphee takes a snap pitches it out right uh 82 with a good running lane he's going to cut it up field get about 12 yards on that play number 82 malachi malachi sherwin off the right side for a good 12 yard run right there yeah nice job up front let's see the sylvan hills we had a ton of room to run over there just a nice job getting on the edge and using your speed mcphee again in the backfield takes the snap pitches it out to 20 and he's met in the backfield with it and is thrown down to the ground number 32 octavian washington threw uh threw him down to the ground for a huge loss that's about a seven yard loss right there yeah what a play what a play out of the nose tackle number 32. uh looked like he was unblocked and just uh was in the backfield on the snap you know you run that pitch enough sooner or later they're gonna they're gonna be able to sniff it out we'll see what sylvan hills draws up here on fourth and long fourth and long ball at about the 40-yard line and it looks like it's gonna be a false start on the bears here they're gonna have to back it up another five yards it's gonna put the ball at about the 45-yard line mcfee fakes a pitch throws it out to 82 anyways 82 tries to break a tackle and he could not get away from the tackler right there number 82 malachi sherwin again with the catch for about a three yard game i believe that's gonna be our ball game that's gonna be our ball game the final scorch uh bears 28 mustangs 18 in this uh in this early season scrimmage yeah very nice showing uh from sylvan hills here a lot of good things that they can work on a lot of good things to build on uh again we look forward to seeing you all friday august 26th as sylvan hills will take on maul mill right here at bill blackwood field in sherwood arkansas yeah this was just a a good showing for the bears to start the season off on a good note uh a good showing for our uh pc ssd uh school sylvan hills and you know we just uh we'd love to see a good competition out here for a scrimmage to let these teams uh get a little warmed up to get the season started yeah i mean it's nice to have football back even if this was just a scrimmage that doesn't count the win-loss column but uh nonetheless it was great to see some pads popping and uh the old pig skin being tossed around we appreciate anybody who joins into the broadcast to watch this uh watch this game uh i bet it felt nice staying in the state in that ac we're in the ac too but to all the fans out there in the stands uh i'm glad you stuck it out through a a pretty muggy night here in august but that's going to do it for us thank you guys for joining
