hey guys today's video it's gonna be another books video finally and lately I've been kind of in a bit of a gloomy mood and just under the weather even though it's been sunny here in New Mexico I've been just kind of feeling blah and I don't know about you guys but I've been finding myself sitting in my dining room with a cup of tea staring at my books so I decided to share with you guys another installment in my beautiful books and this is just gonna be focusing mostly on classics but all paperbacks so in my dining room I have an entire wall of books that's why I try not to have book hauls on this channel because I have so so many books like over 500 books it's very shameful so I'm just gonna keep sharing with you in my books on my shelves and I hope that you guys like it I'll be linking everything down below as usual and I'll be inserting clips as usual of closer up clips of each book just because sometimes I know because of lighting it's kind of hard to see so let's get started and before I start I'm not being sponsored in any way all of these books I bought with my own money so the first book is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and these beautiful additions are the Knickerbocker classics by race point publishing and these are really cool I have two books that I'll show you from this publisher it's if you can hear it kind of like material for its cover and it has this little closure here and then that's the inside it's really really good quality paper and the cover itself is hard but it's actually bendable paperback so it's really really cool and you can keep a bookmark in here it's not gonna fall out and I just do like this little detail of having a closure so kind of almost feels like a notebook and I'm sure you guys have heard of the story of Frankenstein I'm not gonna go too much in depth over all of these books cuz I have a lot here that I'm showing you so I'll link it down below and you guys can probably have a better idea what the book is about this one is my favorite that I have so far and this is Dracula by Bram Stoker this is beautiful black and white and red book and it looks like so they all kind of follow a similar theme and this part here on the back once you open the closure it is just this little piece that's kind of holding onto the cover that has other books that are in the same collection and you can take this off but I kind of like to leave it because I like having what the book is about on the back I've always appreciate when books have a lot more craftsmanship than just kind of a plain book especially if it's a classic I like collecting classics and I like having a more beautiful edition of each one so this one here it's Dracula and I love it the next publisher that I have is by the Puffin collection and it's the chaulk editions and it's these cute little editions of two classics and the ones that I have here is a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and this is the only Dickens that I have but I love how colorful it is and I really do appreciate how it genuinely looks like somebody drew it with chalk the inside has French flat has deckled edges on its pages and it has a nice big font that's very very readable and the pages again are very good quality and on the back of the last flap there are other editions in the same collection that's really really cool this is the second one that I have and it's Pippi longstockings by astrid lindgren and again has that beautiful type of chalk detail on the front on the side and on the back the next additions that I'm going to show you I'm sure you have seen all over YouTube and it's these penguin English library editions I have a few majority of these are from Jane Austen so I will just name all of the Austen books and then I will show you the one that I have that isn't an Austen book so I have here Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen which is this beautiful pink and black edition and all of these feature orange stripes on the side and here is the back then I have Mansfield Park which is kind of a grayish type of design it has some crosses here and some chain detail on the front and then the back has that gray stripe with the orange Emma by Jane Austen and this features a collection of chairs on the cover and my nails kind of match it and this is the back and here is the side this is persuasion and this is my only addition that I have that's in a more kind of glossy Edition versus the matte it features a collection of feathers on the front here's the side and here's the back I don't know how I feel but the glossy cover but that's probably because it doesn't match my other edition and I have Pride and Prejudice which features a bunch of swans and these beautiful plants light orange type of cover here is the side and here is the back and then the final one that I have is northing or Abbey and it features a bunch of gray and black keys on a red background here's the side and here is the back so each book is really good quality when you order from Book Depository it comes with a bookmark and each page is kind of thin the font will vary depending on the book and how many on pages it has but even though the pages are sand it's not very see-through so it's still very readable and I like reading these type of additions I mean the last one that I have from this collection is North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell I feel like a lot of people have this book in this edition but it's so pretty and this features a bunch of oh my god were these called spools I'm gonna google it I was right they are called spools whew I was like oh my god I never use that word but it also features kneels and thread and that kind of goes with the story since there is a lot of cotton in this book so that is the sign and here is the back and I really love this type of kind of periwinkle gray color very very pretty the next one is patience by John Coates and these are the Persephone editions this is the only one I have in this type of very simple grey color and I actually love how simple and beautiful it looks it's just very elegant on your bookcase and the inside features different types of inside covers I don't know what that's called this actually does come off and the inside pages are amazing amazing quality the pages are super thick the font is very readable and this particular book has a bunch of little hearts that kind of sit on top of each page so it's very very cute and I still need to read this book but I've heard great things about it so one day I will get to it and I love that I have this gorgeous elegant edition of this book I do have some other books from Persephone but these feature a more colorful cover so the first one that I have is little boy lost by Marga Nita Lasky and it's this book here very gorgeous this side feature is a very elegant spine and that is the back there is a picture I believe of the author in the back so I have two more the next one is mr. Pettigrew lives for a day by Winifred walks in and I love how colorful this cover is the back in the spine is always kind of similar for these books and again it features the picture of the women authors that wrote this book and that's what I really like about Persephone is that they do give a lot of credit to a lot of women authors some that are very underrated or not in the mainstream book community so I really appreciate that and the last one here is quite the hefty thick book and it's someone at a distance by Dorothy Whipple and I I just love how simple but elegant this painting is in this cover this is the spine and that is the back again featuring a picture of the author alright guys I have one more publisher and two different series within the publisher and it is by penguins so the first editions that I have are the penguin classics deluxe editions and these are super cool to look at because it's a lot of titles that I'm sure many of you have heard of but it kind of provides a new perspective of the covers and it's all in different styles so the first one is the Lord of the Flies by William Golding and I love this book like in general this story is just I remember reading it the first time in school and I just always stuck with me and it's such a great book so this one wrap presents the story very very well it's very loud it's very gruesome and if you read the book you definitely know what I mean so that is the front the side and that's the back featuring this beautiful blue and the inside features a French flat that's the inside cover and again it features these beautiful deckled edges in the inside story the font is very readable and the pages are very good quality and this is the bath featuring a boy trapped in vines so I love this edition it's probably one of my favorites from the deluxe editions so next one that I have is The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne and this one's beautiful the a on her her body is very reflective and it's a main character and her daughter this is the side and this is the back which of the ladies gossiping away and a bunch of roses I have read this um a while ago and I was it was okay it wasn't a big fan of it but I'm so glad that I have a pretty edition of it French locks again this is the first cover and then this is the back again featuring the beautiful deckled edges and the last one I have is one of my favorite books and it's Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and it's this beautiful Darth type of gothic cover which is just gorgeous and it goes on to the spine and then here is the back little young Jane Eyre looking out the window very beautiful again featuring the French flaps and this is the back and duxelles edges along the book beautiful beautiful edition I probably said this so many times in this video that it's beautiful beautiful but it is true and the last two books that I have in this video are the penguin thread editions and off screen you can't see but I just love touching these covers because it literally feels like they are embroidered it's so trippy and the inside cover is even trickier and I will show you in a moment is The Wizard of Oz by l frank Baum and like I said it's why the penguin threads and I will show you closer up but it is so stunning the amount of detail that went into this book and when you open up the French flap it looks like somebody embroider the cover and this is the back of it so it's like is this real is this embroidered is it not so cool and then the back is the same thing it's so pretty I can't but that is the little monkey hat and this is the back cover so pretty and it also features deckled edges a very readable font and good quality paper this is the last one this is Little Women by louisa may alcott if i'm meeting these names wrong i apologize but this is a little bit simpler but it still features a lot of details on the cover it's still embroidered this is the spine and this is the back very cute not on the back it says I'm not afraid of stories where I am learning to sail my ship cute and then the inside features just a pattern here but it still has that amazing type of detail that the back of some embroidered item would have so it's really cool and then the back feature is another pattern and the same thing on the back cover and again having the deckled edges I used to hate deckled edges but now they're kind of cool and they make a really cool sound hopefully this video wasn't too long and I hope that you guys enjoyed it tell me which books that you have either from my collection here that you've read and enjoyed or books that I don't have that I should buy I always love your recommendation guys so subscribe to my channel if you like my videos leave me in comment and a big thumbs up if you guys want to and I will see you in my next video bye guys
