Beating a Troll Level Using Only the Jump Button (+ Troll Makers Made Their Own Puzzle Game!)

what is this set up this is a very goofy level uh so today on the agenda we have a level called skipsqueak Academy that has received rave reviews from lots of people um including geek in chat I think but then we have something really interesting so we're going to be playing there's a game Jam which as far as I understand it a game Jam is like you make a game in a couple of days so they literally started a Game Dev whatever company thing called twice twice Studios so a bunch of troll makers made a game from twice twice Studios that we're going to be playing uh which uh yeah I don't know what that's going to be but help I guess here we go skipsqueak academy by scri I've heard great things about this level let's do it this has a fourth wall thanks so if a skip streak is on screen you must only use the jump buttons I believe does anybody know like that means that I like I can't move right I can only push jump I can only use the jump button ah what am I supposed to do oh jump hey look at that that's a face I like that well this is going to be amazing so I have to jump like that oh my god oh what if I just jump does nothing what if I do like that there we go do I want to be here okay what happens I mean we need a switch chain I don't know what how I'm going to get out of this what do you mean no what what was I what is this level this level is incredible what was I supposed to do though hey I found a skip squeak I found a secret skipsqueak what if I get the oh I get the shiny I can't check fast enough if there's a skipsqueak on the screen what if there's one like secretly in the corner there we go that's what we want that's what we want yeah there's a skip squeak on screen right there oh I pushed a button oh there was another kaiso there there was another kaiso there oh I guess technically I can't exit the level cuz that's pushing a button other than jump okay we go up here and then there we go there we go there we go there we go there we go [Music] oh was I smart I think I was actually smart but I missed the jump you finally understand the level concept I am very stupid the coins are indicating that I should jump to make the skipsqueak jump but I can just go under the first one and then jump over the second one I think I am stupid what I meant was jump over the first one and jump over the second one there we go there we go there we go let's [Music] go mush you mean easy oh I love the 1 second slider theme oh my God this is a really creative level because I'm just pushing the jump button all I'm doing is pushing the jump button this is I think this is like where fourth wall oh conditions are the coolest [ __ ] because you can create a really unique level concept if you just ask the player not to do something and it's like people are going to want to do it because it's fun so how do I dodge oh I jumped right there that's how I do it okay okay oh no wait wait what does that say mushroom oh it says mush yeah okay okay okay and then the last one I jumped like right there there we go there we go um this I don't think Z this is an amazing Z all right this is one of the best Z's I've seen in years but there's a skipsqueak on stream on screen a crazy ante they're not letting the middle one jump this is a ridiculous anti what the middle one what look at that it can't touch the ground there it goes there it goes come on jump I need the middle one to jump why are they so drunk oh my there wait that is an amazing anti holy crap all right I still don't know what I'm doing doing here which is not good thank goodness I died how do I go up there the car can't seem to jump high enough so I was thinking maybe I bounce off the skip squeak uh I'm going to try jumping even sooner and bouncing off of the midair bounce thing which is like a Precision jump which it should not be this ution in a troll level which confuses me but I don't know what else to do if anyone has ideas feel free to let me know cuz I got nothing what is the best pan really cool about science is like people will make discoveries that you would never think are going to lead to whatever they end up leading to like crisper is a great example of this crisper is a bacterial defense system against bacterial viruses so like it's just a way that the bacteria will try to cut up DNA from a virus because like what a virus does is it injects its own DNA into a cell and so it like tries to take over the bacterial cell and so when it injects its like malicious DNA into the bacteria the crisper Machinery cuts it up and then scientists are like what if we use this to cut our own DNA and now you have like crazy genetic engineering from crisper but it's not like it it was discovered by people who were just interested in studying bacteria they had no idea the actual levels and stuff in it I don't know what is happening right now though preparing doors doors ready Doors 100 operating system twice twice Studios presents it's called Miss paint all right uh load doors as system administrator or load doors as restricted user uh system administrator clearly I pushed enter and nothing administrator password stevea damn it uh and low doors is restricted user what the world am I looking at twice twice Studios game okay read me. text default controls e is used tool Z is undo tool use R is undo movement there a bunch of undos redo hold R to restart level use the mouse to create selections we hope we enjoy using our program welcome to miss paint world one oh the other ones are locked my first level wa touch the green touch green to win oh W waa actual good physics though I wasn't expecting that this is play mode can I these okay no I can't this is like the tutorial to learn the music or to learn the movement I oh I can hit that you win whoa what is happening uh rectangle all right rectangle uh E equals enter grin mode if near a tool use tool how do I use the tool rectangle mode um Mouse select area oh I can I can draw platforms to jump on I'm assuming yeah I can draw platforms to jump on can I make a smaller rectangle please uh-oh Z equals undo okay let's draw a rectangle like that okay so this is like learning the the mechanics of the game and then I assume there's going to be troll levels once we learn the mechanics um copy so I can use this to oh wait how do I copy something uh copy I assume I want to copy that but I don't know how there's like one pixel that I somehow grab let me undo okay copy mode what if I select that and then copy it there we go there we go there we go okay ah all right tower time what does this tool do move mode oh okay let me move in a less dumb way uh move this here okay there we go so steo made a troll level with this by the way uh blue can't be edited or replaced oh okay what is this copy mode Begins the trolling begins rotate uh okay so I can oh my gosh kind of sick though wait but I can't okay I can't move it all I can do is rotate it so do that and then jump okay the movement physics are like surprisingly good you can resize something holy [ __ ] so [Music] igate nice nice this is cool reach for the sky yeah what's cool about this is they made a level editor basic like any image can be a level and so you can just open any image in the game and you can play it inside the game and that's really cool uh light blue is like blue but you can go through it okay and this is copy mode um oh does that sit behind it though can I uh S L I might still be able to make this nice Okay cool so that's world one and now world two is open all right top shelf oh so we have rectangle mode so we can make a rectangle and then uh and then we can copy [Music] it and I can't jump that high [ __ ] okay it's nice you can only you can just redo one of them too that's pretty [Music] nice wait this is move mode uh the blue the black I can't get in right but I can move it out of the way and then go in okay nice wow look a dollar oh [ __ ] which one is this copy [Music] uh darn okay so you can't copy that how am I going to get there even if I copy this can I make that I can't make that all right now we're puzzling I guess copy mode I could copy like only a part of it can I copy more than once am I stupid no I can't copy more than once so once I've used it we're done I tried copying the money this is like a puzzle how do we do this um I'm confusion copy mode I can't copy this uh can I copy the copy mode no I can't copy the copy mode right I can copy a piece of that but how will it help me get all the way up there why don't I get it I don't get it I don't get it at all what am I forgetting I can't think of any shape of this that will help me unless unless I can make this jump maybe I can I definitely can't yeah so uh so how many how many people in chat thought they got it and no longer slope that I could walk up but I can't that doesn't seem like it's going to work what's a useful shape for me what's the height I can jump to is there a oh that's the wrong button for undo okay oh this is perplexing my brain whole I am bad at visualizing stuff like this is very true it is very [Music] true I'm trying to think of what I can jump on twice and my brain is empty my brain is very very empty yeah the grid is somewhat helpful but I can't jump with the grid so I kind of have I guess I can do that so that's about how high I can jump yeah you can only copy black and you can only copy once and I can't change what I copy and there's a limited amount of space I can copy so like there's only so many options right let's just start copying stuff stuff and maybe something will make more sense I can copy a long thin area like this and put it like this or something but I can't make [Music] that wait what are the so there's two different undo buttons what are they do oh I can un wait I can undo back to to [Music] this I don't know what I pushed I'm going to be totally honest don't know what I pushed so I can't use one of the undo buttons while in edit mode that one undoes that and then I go back there what does the other one do there's two undo buttons and I can't tell this one puts me back I guess to the last thing I've used or something like that oh I think I get it I have to use this thing to carve out part of the thing don't I that's what I have to do how would it work like this yeah that's what it is I think that's what it is something like this but not quite like that oh so close yeah this is that is very smart okay how do we but I got to do it it's not quite right like that wait how does this one do anything interesting if I can make that it's make something meaning that I can meaningfully jump off of probably probably not like this oh I almost got soft lock let's go uh move mode oh okay um beautiful platforming gen platforming genius platforming genius oh my gosh world three uh cell in the sky this is really cool this is really creative uh let's see help I can do resize mode or rotate mode um this is the only thing I can oh I probably should have only resized part of it right cuz then oh no I can only maybe I only rotate part of it awesome staircase look at this incredible staircase maybe this is winnable I can't jump up there all right hold on hold on just a second what if we instead what's the best way to make some sort of a like ladder out of this what if I only resize part of it holy [ __ ] oh this is going to be crazy I'm trying to understand a little bit of how the resize how do I get something I need to get something low enough to even get up to in the first place and I'm having I'm struggling just with even that oh okay this is like this might be doable if I just rotate this a little but oh it's so what's a rotate that'll allow this to work what if I rotate this one like this ah it's not quite there this would have wor okay let's take this idea but cut it a little better than I did like this maybe will work oops wrong one I think that idea should work though oh God now I can't get into it I don't think I can like this would work but I think I can't I think the jump is just ever so slightly off oh my gosh what if I just rotate this so that I can get into it like that maybe hold on we have these are the ideas no maybe that should work though uh wait what have I done should work oh oh let's go I don't think I think there's probably an easier way to do it but we did it dig side um the the platforming physics are actually really good I don't know how you guys like made them so good for wait do I need to go do I need to dig what dig um re okay I have a resize and a rotate um and I can't wait that's like that's an idea right but I can't get out of here what if we start with the wait I can't rotate the water right yeah I can't rotate the water what is this for I think we start with the oh no oh the wait how do I get out of any of these how do I get out of any of these make a thin platform like this make it big what happens if I make it inside of me soft lock all right uh so like that gives me that but did that oh I was thinking I could like rotate it in [Music] there no all right uh if I start the there's no way to start the rotate cuz there's nothing I can rotate that let me get out of that soft loock box um so I have to start with the resize is there any other resize option that will let me get out basically have to stretch something from down here [Music] right but this doesn't necessarily help me do anything else unless I were able to rotate it like into the other box but I'm not able to am I it does doesn't go far enough brain brain is empty again oh what else can I do with the resize here oh I think we're going to use the fact that when I re whoa I can make that pretty freaking big incredible um try more resizes I guess what if I take like a small area oh okay so the amount that I can resize is sort of proportional to the amount that I select wait what if I do it like this that's what I've been trying to do there we go that's what I've been trying to do this whole time okay I so the in order to make this work right I have to start from the left and drag all the way to the right so that the right corner of the resized box is like is so that it gets as much distance to the right as possible oh come on give me that pixel give me that pixel um but what if I just like oh [Music] gosh [Music] so close this is so close so I have to get down there which sadly we're boned but this is so close to being [Music] good can I do anything with this okay if I could just access the green thing we're good all I need to do is just be able to access the green and move part of it like this right but slightly smarter than that I might I might have to redraw my original one to make this jump not quite Max height rectangle [Music] [Music] uh not quite going to feel like for this because this would be easy if only I could get up [Music] there um oh what if n it's not going to change anything cuz I'm not going to make the last jump with this what I've been oh would I have been able to make the last jump with that if I just put it slightly better let's start by let's start with the last jump let's actually start with the last jump maybe that'll help me cuz I should be able to make that last jump now can I cut a piece out of this that's going to allow me to get to both of those maybe yeah that was this that was much easier for me to think about that way all right world four time password bananas oh we could do the wait do I go to do I exit and do the bananas okay we're going to do steo levels first this is the level made by steo called pick aath I like how it has a pipe up there oh my gosh okay it has a move mode wait how come the undo button doesn't work okay whatever uh as a rotate mode a rectangle mode move mode doesn't feel like it's going to be [Music] hard okay we're going to need some way to get up here right which one's this oh but all I can do is rotate it oh wait pick a path wait I get it cuz I can only do one of the other unless I make the rectangle the move doesn't make any sense cuz I can't move any of this stuff I wonder if the intended path is for you to draw a a rectangle and then be able to move [Music] it do I want a rotated rectangle what if I go up the slope of the rotated rectangle okay hold on I got a br brilliant idea in coming hot this is going to be a hot a hot slope that we're going to run up hot slope coming in hot oh that accidentally worked let's go wait but I can't get up the bottom path ah how do I get up the bottom path wait a second what is oh no this is some crazy steo puzzle isn't it [ __ ] um feels like the start has to be starting here both paths are wrong God damn it if I can go over the top of the level [Music] Ste how am I ever going to I think you can only yeah you can only use one tool at a time so you can do [ __ ] like that get me up there and then I can do [ __ ] [Music] like this but it's not going to be enough oh actually wait maybe that's wait oh my gosh look at how smart that is L damn totally totally intended oh but what if I can't make this jump this is going to be so sad if I can't make this jump oh let's go platforming I cheesed Evo's level let's go honestly this is really cool the this is this is a really cool simple puzzle game I feel like you guys should definitely try making a whole thing out of this this is really cool I was expecting a Troll game but we got a puzzle game instead and that's okay uh move mode and resize mode uh move mode what can I move like this stuff right and then resize would let me like um but what if I resize it like this now that I learned a little more about this oh but I have to but I have to be able to get to the balloon up here I can't make it without some help okay in that case what if we start with a resize uh oh my gosh you can really do some crazy [Music] resizing oh it's interesting how we can create a gap in this H can't quite make that though how am I going to get how am I going to like how am I going to get some kind of a shape that's going to let us do something out of it the cool thing about that shape is you can climb it but I can't think of a way I this is almost actually winnable this is almost winnable look at that [ __ ] but I think I can't make the initial [Music] jump oh my God I'm a gamer i' I've gamed out of my mind on that one there we go let's go I think I cheesed all of them uh yeah the the fact that the levels are just PNG files of the different colors is really cool it reminds me a bit of worms um cuz anybody can make maps for this which is really neat but how do you put these in them or whatever I don't know right system administrator now we know the password is bananas I like how this has lore or voting for Baba do you have all three prepared no I don't now do the password you win yay yay can we vote for Miss paint I think we won but you can make more levels yay I liked it it was cute if you guys made that in like 2 days that's pretty [Music] sick Yosh she's
