Base Locations on Ragnarok - Ark Basics

hey how's it going everybody welcome to arc basics a show where we break down the abcs of how to start an arc how to accomplish things how to achieve things how to be the best you possibly can be that's right we're going with the full abcs of arc a for arc b for basic c for well whatever you want it to be c can be anything hey how's it going everybody welcome back to arc basics and today we're continuing on our uh mission to uh well to discuss the best base locations for each map because arc has been going on for quite a long time a lot of the maps have been out here for a long time and uh yeah so i want to do a uh a basics video on each of the maps just to determine or which to to explain to everybody uh my favorite base locations for on different maps plus also my uh reasons for doing so are for reasons for uh having them as my favorite and then also just to discuss the best base locations because i've been playing the game for a long long time i've been playing uh the game ever since it very first came out i was here when ragnarok on day one when it first released it was amazing i love it uh and this map is just an amazing map all right so uh yeah we're gonna be discussing uh probably i'd say a good maybe 10 one i mean i don't want to make it a top 10 because honestly i don't think that you mean you can do a top 10 for uh ragnarok but you'd really be doing it a disservice because there is so so many good base locations on ragnarok this is a builder's map so if you are into building if you're into really good spots if you're into just places that look absolutely breathtaking ragnarok is a map that you really strongly want to consider if you haven't already played on it please do so this is a fantastic map it is not part of the original story but it oh man this yeah i can't say enough good things about this map um so hey let's uh uh hop on the toronto on let's fly around uh let's just discuss some of the best base locations and then also there's some that are strangely alluring but turn out to be not that great in the long run because there's all sorts of things be it uh cutting off dino spawns be it uh not really not close enough to different resources for gathering or also uh yeah just having things come and eat your face uh when you least expect it because uh ragnarok like i said it's uh there's some places that are strangely alluring they're oddly alluring they're it's uncanny just how alluring they are but when you get into the thick of it you turn the place just turns out to be a place that's really gonna make you have a really bad time and then make it so where you really want to move really quick all right so hey let's cut to the chase let's get started okay to start off with we're gonna be discussing the highlands now the highlands um the highlands is really really pretty area you can get equus wicked fast because carrots seriously they they literally grow in the farm down here you can get uh carrots right down here you can get them over by this waterfall over here uh you can find potatoes and carrots but carrots are uh you know they're just as good as kibble when it comes around to taming equus well not just as good but almost as good and i mean right down here you can find some carrots plus also there's some really amazing spots plus also metal is easily uh gatherable here but when it comes around to building bases here there are really only two places i would recommend one is down here under this waterfall which turns out to be a really really good spot right underneath here um but then again you're living more of a subterranean life uh yeah you're gonna be down here uh yeah no sunlight no nothing but you know if that's your cup of tea this is an extremely safe spot because if you build out here in the general open uh you'll have uh you know you'll have aloes come and harass you you will have gigas that spawn on your face and every once in a while if you're not playing on a solo player um game you will have wyverns from the wyvern trench which is right over there come and harass you so if you're gonna build here i would recommend building underneath the waterfall or there's another spot over here at the lighthouse which is fairly safe every once in a while you will have aloes that get a little bit dangerously close but here let's discuss that all right over here right up top by the lighthouse uh there there's a lot of metal up here lots of other stuff there's potatoes that grow right there on the ground uh but yeah if you're interested in building around the lighthouse in the lighthouse anything like that it's it's relatively safe uh this right here this pack of alice right here kind of demonstrates that uh it's not always 100 safe up there you will every once in a while get a pack of aloes down there or you will also get a giga this spawns right down here which can make you have a really bad day now if you have a nice flyer you can lure the giga into the water and you can drown it which is no big deal but just realize that if you're gonna build there sometimes you may have to deal with that also there is another spot underneath the lighthouse which is pretty good but it's more of an advanced build because you have to be higher level to craft the cliff platforms also um once again you're in a subterranean existence um these little pillars that come down from the ceiling you can put cliff platforms on these which makes it rather cool uh but yeah once again this is a more of an advanced build um but it does come complete with a underwater dyno pen where you can hold all your underwater dinos right there and then have them relatively safe so yeah alright so that's the highlands and the ones i would recommend for highlands uh there are quite a few like i said if i don't cover um a place that you really enjoy just know that i'm i'm probably based there at one point in time because i'm based everywhere on this map and uh yeah it's uh there are its ups and downs uh i can't mention all of them in this um video because there are so many on this map but uh yeah these are the ones i would absolutely recommend as the best because yeah in my opinion they are all right now just in between the highlands and the redwoods this spot right here actually turns out to be pretty good uh base location you will every once in a while have terror birds or something come down from up there and decide they want to harass you but it's uh it's honestly it's not too bad and i realized i forgot to show the location of the highlands on the map it's that big green area right up above me all right uh so this spot right here right at the edge of the redwoods uh you generally don't get harassed too much right here um and it is a pretty good spot it is a little uneven uh for building but if you're uh fine with building on uneven terrain which i know a lot of people are um me especially that uh this turns out to be a pretty good spot uh you're not going to be uh having to be harassed with uh thylakolios too much because there's not enough big trees there's one big tree in the immediate area that uh can actually have thylakoleos on it but you will every once in a while see them running around on the ground which is actually it's just a big plus plus you know i mean thylakolya on the ground not in a tree ready to be tamed there yeah come on all right and then also you are if you head up into the redwoods up here um you will get um beaver dams all sorts of stuff so you are in between the wyvern trench over there the highlands over there free vegetables free gigas uh over here you'll have free thylas it's win-win-win uh yeah this is a really really good spot once again that is right here on the map all right so uh continuing on in that same theme right over there is the uh highlands this spot right here is actually really really good now i would i would not recommend actually building down here on the ground you absolutely can uh matter of fact over here in this little area right here it's a nice clear area where you can kind of build it's right like uh right here on the map but uh you will if depends on how big you like to build they're bieber dams uh the beavers they spawn down in here and they will freely give you as much as many pace as possible but if you build down here chances are you're probably gonna cut into those spawns a little bit see right down there there's a whole bunch of beavers right down below us uh which means that there's gonna be quite a few but if you're interested in building in uh um tree platforms this one lone tree and then that tree right next to it these are phenomenal tree house builds uh places that you can build right here and once again this tree the exact location right there uh yeah it's it's the tallest tree in the forest just overlooking everything and i think they did this for a reason just that way just you know here's where it's like standing out saying hey this is a primo spot for building because it is there's metal around here there's uh beavers around here uh there's all sorts of cool stuff there is even crystal underneath some of these uh um oh caves a little bit also if you uh go up over here there's even some obsidian up in the hills and everything there's just so many cool uh areas down here so yeah um i mean i know there a lot of people are probably thinking hey you know why not just build you know certain places but honestly i out of if i were to pick a best spot out of the redwoods that tree and one other spot are the best places that in my experience that uh yeah they are all right so hey let's talk about the second best spot because this one's just as good all right now this one right here is my next favorite one for the redwoods now it's like the other one is on the edge of uh the redwoods the uh wyvern trench the highlands this right here it has the opposite it's on the edge of the desert it's on the edge of the uh um oh the um snow biome right over here and this right here is located right up here on the map uh right here it's above this big giant lake now if you're into tree building you can build on there if you're into a cliff building you can build up there uh if you have no problem piping water up somewhere you can build just about anywhere around here but yeah this right here there is just so many resources that spawn around here plus also lots of loot comes down right in this area so if you're enjoying if you enjoy coming around and uh i was seeing a whole bunch of loot or just looking outside your window every once in a while seeing if luke's coming down this is a really really good spot for and this once again this is located right up here on the map all right so uh let's cut over to uh the desert area uh i would like to say there's a bunch of stuff in the um snow biome that uh um is really good spots there are a few good spots i'm probably not going to cover those just because uh i don't i i i have an aversion to um having my tushy be cold so yeah it's just one of those things i like going into the um into the snow biome but i generally don't like building there all right so hey let's uh pop over here to the desert because there are uh there's several uh really good spots over here in the desert all right now i've actually previously built here uh i think three times uh i think two of them have been on camera but yeah this is uh this is absolutely a fantastic spot for building a base uh especially if you uh really lean into uh flyers and such uh because or if you just have a really good thylakolio that you love running around on this is an amazing spot and this is located right here on the map um it's there's so many cool places where i mean you can build like small little bases right here or you could have like a bridge that comes over here segment your base and have just this a gorgeous backdrop for everything and plus also have just so many resources right around you you have fresh flowing water right here you've got all sorts of cool stuff you got plenty of thatch fiber metal all down in there i mean there is just so much stuff here uh yeah when it comes around to silica pearls end up sitting yeah you will have to go a little bit for it but everything else is absolutely covered here every once in a while you will have to deal with the occasional argent coming down but that's really not a big deal all right so let's head down here a little bit because there is a couple other really really cool spots over all right now if you're into the desert and you just kind of want to be left alone this spot right here it's just this little bit right here on top of here where if you were to build your entire base here you would cut off all the um creature spawns that spawn up here and just be left alone to your own devices you've got this amazing backdrop in the back you've got fresh water that you can pipe up under over here and you've got access to all sorts of different uh resources yeah you will be heavily dependent on flyers unless if you build a bridge going from one of these to another which it honestly it's very doable you just have to really line up the foundations and stuff properly but other than that it'll just take you some time and you can totally do it now there is a spot underneath here which does seem to be kind of alluring but every once in a while you will have stuff fall off the top right into the middle of your base and i mean it's it's the spot underneath here there is actually a pretty decent spot where you can get crystal but also once again if you build underneath here you're gonna be uh cutting off a lot of these spawns and stuff so uh yeah i mean it it is a good spot it is a good spot but it's not one of my favorites um i would actually recommend building up here and then going down in there for a little adventurous where you can get all the resources yeah all right let's move on to the next one all right here's the next spot now generally i'm not a big fan of building here just but it i have to recognize this is a good spot it's right here on the map right um the reason why i'm not a fan of building here is because you have to construct a big ugly nasty wall around it other than that it's it's really good i mean you have access to all sorts of different uh dino spawns around here all sorts of different resources and such it even has its own metal nose it's got fresh water if you don't mind drinking swamp water but other than that it's really good um uh yeah like i said i'm not a huge fan but i do have to recognize that that's a really really good spot the my favorite spot right over here on this river and this river is extremely alluring because uh if you're into uh um rune buildings there you can build all sorts of cool stuff in the ruins it's it's really good uh my favorite spot in uh on this river is right over here at the temple just because it has this just absolutely flat bit right here that you can build anything you want to on it and just kind of be left alone if you need to you can reinforce this little section up here with some walls that are kind of out of the way you really don't have to see them that much you have always been ovus right there uh you have all sorts of different things plus also it has just this big funnel that you can gate off at the very beginning so where you can just be left alone and then this little island out here if you leave this untouched is is just a veritable coat cornucopia of just all sorts of different stuff you can just pop out of your front door over there look over here see what's on the menu and then go tape it uh just be careful of the capros they do tend to suck a little bit but other than that it is absolutely amazing amazing spot and i forgot to mention that is right here on the map way down here on the side all right so i think our time in the desert is done there are a couple of really really good spots here um but uh yeah it's a lot of those you'll have to deal with rock elementals origins why well not really vibrant uh you'll have to deal with uh all sorts of different things but also just remember that this spot right here it's right down next to uh one of my favorite spots on this map for getting falacolio because it's just it's it's seriously it's a thalicolio mosh bit which means that you can just continually work it market market and then until just the best stylucolios spawn tame those and then come back and just keep working until you get more and it's right down here on the um little corner of the um the map right here at the bottom of the river way down here now there are a bunch of spots up here uh but then again uh water is it's a pain in the butt uh if you're a solo player i'm not sure why you would put yourself through that if you're on a uh oh on a dedicated server yeah if you're trying to find a spot that's away from people um generally this is gonna be a high traffic area uh so yeah it is what it is uh i mean it's so much land mass here so much real estate it's just a shame that water is such a tough resource down here and then if you if you uh come down this area this area right here is seriously the best spot for thylakovaleos on ragnarok it's just right here you have so many um different style spawns down here and they respawn as soon as you uh take them out of render and then come back into render it is amazing so i would recommend do not build here on this spot right here do not build here because you want this to be constantly free spawning just so where you can uh um oh have access to this amazing resource like this little bit of flat land right here i would recommend not building because uh you would cut off quite a few uh thylakoglio spawns right around the area it's very alluring but i would recommend don't build here just leave this uh open to nature this little spot right here yeah even though it is really really flat ah this temptation right that's the thing with ragnarok a lot a lot of times they tempt you in the building there and then you end up cutting off a lot of the spawns which is very unfortunate all right one of my next favorite spots is right down here um this little island down at the bottom you will get megalania that do spawn in the area right down there and then every once in a while they'll kind of be up here but there are ways of cutting off the spawns by kind of building up here now there is metal that spawns on top of the um island that you will run the risk of cutting things off a little bit if you build up right here um it's a nice flat area that you can kind of come down like this and then have uh um this be just natural and you'll have metal respawning but i would recommend actually just cutting off all the re all the spawns up here on top because you do get saber-tooths and stuff and megalania free running right there um that will come and harass you every once in a while but if you cut off the spawns and they're not going to be doing anything and then there is a spot that i have yet to uh build enough to cut off everything which underneath this uh island which is located right here way down here at the bottom um where you can get a ton of resources and it's right here through here underneath there's crystal and metal right here plenty for a uh a solo survivor um matter of fact this is that's a lot for a solo survivor it's just right underneath there and you can just uh run an argent and a anki underneath there gather what you want and just kind of be left alone it's pretty cool there's even water wells right there i'm not sure why you would want it since you could just pump metal pump water right up from the ocean right there and you can drink some sea water it's great it's really healthy no really don't drink seawater i'm just yeah that that's just a joke for art all right but yeah so with that uh yeah that's that this right here is one of my favorite islands although the only downside from this island is when you want to go out on adventures uh you have to go quite a ways to get to anywhere uh so uh yeah i would recommend wyverns uh for this but then again if you're on ragnarok why wouldn't you have wyverns that's kind of the question and then you can even come out here and there's all sorts of really high level spawn stuff that spawns right up here origins aloes rexes all sorts of really cool stuff that you can get in trouble with it is amazing all right now another uh not one of my favorite places but a fantastic spot is right here this little uh uh rock formation that kind of comes out you will be absolutely 100 left alone right here it is a really good spot it's right here it's there's there's water right here you can pipe up there's metal up in here there's also plenty of river rocks down below also uh yeah you will have to come out here to gather a bunch of stuff but uh yeah it makes us where you have to uh not wall off a whole ton of your uh um base area and then there's also it opens up this whole southern bit of the uh highlands uh just to use where you just have easy access to come up here gather whatever you want and then go down there and just craft whatever you want breed whatever you want do whatever you want and just be left alone plus also up in here there's a ton of beaver dams it's located up in these uh rivers over here which makes it a really really good base locations where you just have access just so much stuff i mean plus also there's the obelisk right up there it is a little bit of a hike to get to the obelisk but uh yeah there's a bunch of really cool stuff up there i would not recommend building around the obelisk because a giga does spawn around there and then also uh if you go a little bit north up there you can start cutting off some of the griffon spawns which is another reason why i would generally not build up there just because the griffin spawns on this map are few and far between and cutting those off you're kind of you know you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot by doing that don't do that uh leave the griffon spawns where they are uh build um you know in places away from the griffin spawns that way there you you can pretty much pick and choose which griffins you want all right so now we're gonna go over to these little islands way over here which is my 100 favorite spot to build on ragnarok just because it's so far away from everything but it's so right in the middle of everything and here i'll get into explaining what i mean because there is just so much going on for you over these little islands yeah when you uh start cruising around and uh you need to go on a long adventure ragnarok's a big map which means you're gonna be traveling for a while but uh there's just so much going on for you over here in these islands now um i would recommend if you're gonna build over here build either on that a far southern island right over there or this island right here uh save this island because this island has got the majority of the resources and i'll get into explaining that here in just a sec as we get a little bit closer because there is metal all over this island right here i mean all over and if you build on it you're gonna be cutting into a bunch of your spawns plus also the majority of all of the uh um creatures that spawn on these three islands spawns on this island which means that uh if you're gonna be building uh and and with the goal of cutting off some spawns it's you're gonna be fighting a losing battle but um then again also these three islands they're like in the herbivore island on the island you don't have uh carnivores that spawn here other than you know peligornis and uh um tyranidons but also they're not aggressive so i don't classify them as carnivores even though they do eat meat but uh yeah they're not aggressive so nothing aggressive spawns on these three islands so you're gonna be completely left alone and then also down here in this caldera on this little bit which is very very very deep uh and by the way don't use a grappling hook to get down to the bottom it will kill you i i've done that on camera it's it's it's not fun recovering your corpse from the bottom but yeah there is all sorts of obsidian and stuff in here it is amazing and phenomenal and then also up here on this northern island the southern island has some runes some surface ruins uh the uh island right up here it's got uh some uh subterranean ruins which it's got this uh really cool cave that's got a building structure in it which is really really neat and i like building on it or building around it and uh you really don't have to worry about water you don't have to worry about nothing here uh really the only thing you have to worry about is crystal yeah uh crystal is the only thing plus also you have access to the uh beaver dams over there once you have a rather capable flyer or just a thiala coli or sabertooth or something like that you can totally get up there now this little temple up here on this northern bit of the island uh it comes up like this and it goes down inside and there's got so much going on you can totally build up in here and have just a massive base inside of here uh and then it comes out it's got a little uh escape hatch down here where you can come out and uh yeah it's a really really good spot i love this island this is my favorite spot to build on ragnarok it's absolutely phenomenal i love this spot all right let's get up to a couple others all right now this place right here it may seem intimidating at first and if it doesn't seem intimidating uh yeah there's something wrong with your melon uh this is very much a more advanced area that you want to build in and of course the wind just picks up so i get here so yeah that's a thing but yeah right over here on the swamp above those islands uh yeah you will have baryonyx's spawn up here you will have uh um titanoboas that are up here you'll have quite a bit of different stuff the spawns up here but uh it is totally worth it there is so much resources up in here plus also you have access to these little castles over here which do make it uh kind of interesting uh if you clear out a bunch of these trees and stuff uh you can have a really good spot and i may cut just where we can get this wind to go bye-bye and then i can do this in broad daylight but there is a whole bunch of different places that you can either build in the ruins or there's flat areas on top of here um it's it's a bit more challenging but it is very rewarding because the swamps have so many cool resources going on for them uh just remember if you're coming here with a uh with a raft uh sarcos and capros will be able to pick you off the wrap so have that in mind i've had it happen to me numerous times all right if you're into really gorgeous spots the western little bit of this jungle over here right below the blue obelisk it's it's absolutely gorgeous especially this spot right here i love building here and this is very much more of an advanced build because you will have things falling off uh the cliff over here and uh coming and harassing you you'll have uh uh raptors you'll have uh car nose you'll have rexes all sorts of stuff but it is such a beautiful spot um then there is a couple spots up here that you can build on where you will be kind of left alone see there's a wreck just waiting to come drop off there on you but right up here on this little uh plateau bit right here on the map uh if you build right here on this little section you're gonna be left alone uh you will have to build a bridge going from here to over here but really that's just lining up the foundations i've done it several times it takes a little bit of time but once you do it you can just run right out here right onto this you put just one little uh gate right here blocking off anything from coming in and you'll be left alone it is a really good spot there's so many cool spots um so many cool resources around here so much dinos to choose from plus also there's a little mosh pit right over here that you can just constantly work so where you can get just about any level of dyno that you want which is in my opinion and those are really important because find the spots that respawn really fast and then you can just work them and get whatever kind of uh dinos that you want and save a whole lot of time from going and scouring the map looking for the best aims because this right here rex's spawn over here uh theory spun over here uh yankees dodicaruses raptors all sorts of stuff plus also there's a ton of metal right here on this little bit right here yeah so this makes it a really really good spot matter of fact that's probably my second favorite spot to build as that spot back there all right uh so yeah moving up here now there are a few spots that i want to discuss as i'm flying up towards the blue obelisk because there's a bunch of caves uh there's a bunch of other cool spot those are good spots to build uh they're not my favorites uh but then again if you find a nice cave that you're enjoying by all means build there uh building in a cave generally means that you're going to have to go elsewhere for your resources so just keep that in mind uh because for the most part uh the caves they don't have a bunch of naturally spawning resources i think that the um that the map makers did that for a reason so you have a nice safe area but you have to venture out and get all your resources which kind of makes sense all right now down over in here this is uh one of my favorite spots for otters you can get otters all over the map this is a really good spot self-contained now there is a cave that is underneath here if you fly down here here let me show you the exact spot on the map where you're flying under right there and then you fly underneath here uh you can get over here and there there is a bunch of resources in here and this is probably the cave with the most resources but still once again it is absolutely limited in the amount of resources you can get now it does have this pool right here which has salmon that are all over it which means that uh if you need uh um oh uh prime fish meat this is a really good spot to get it uh now you can come over here you can build a whole bunch of stuff it's got this little path that works its way around up to another platform up here um but yeah you will have limited resources you can come in here right out through here gather a bunch of stuff come inside and then just be left to load once again hey building i enjoy cave building but i also realize that it does kind of cut down on your resources now with this one being so close to the jungle you do have access to a lot more resources which is the reason why i'm mentioning it um so where yeah it is really good base spot all right moving on to uh some of the next ones all right now here we are in viking bay now this is a very alluring spot and it's locating right over here on the map because this is one of the places where you spawn in where you have access to spawn in which is actually a rather easy spot to spawn but you will have to deal with some with some things uh there are megalo sources up in the um woods up there plus origins that will come down and harass you uh every once in a while you'll get an alpha rex that decides it wants to come down and make you have a bad day that's a thing you have to deal with and now if you're gonna be building over in viking bay which honestly i think you should at least experience it once since it's such a really good spot um one thing you need to know uh i've actually encountered it where euryptorians will come out of this bay up and harass you while you're busy crafting and then it's a slow painful death because they hit you once you're knocked unconscious and then they'll spend the next 10 minutes slowly hitting you over and over and over so i would recommend if you're getting build up here try to build up on top of one of these places like this where it's generally a little bit safer there is obsidian up here that you will end up cutting off but it's not that big of a deal plus also there's a cave underneath uh here if you go through this rib cage and um through that waterfall there's another cave that opens up over here here let me show you may get knocked off right here yeah right through here uh yeah there's a bunch of stuff up here where you'll just get left alone yeah it's a good spot there's a bunch of dino bones up in here if that's what you're into uh but once again cave building you will have to venture out and go get your resources which is totally a thing makes sense but yeah um also this is in my opinion one of the best spots to get origins is right up above it ah it's right up through here there's so many arches to choose from it's an amazing spot all right so uh let's go up this way now i there is a castle up here uh i would not recommend building in there i mean it is a decent spot and if you uh build properly you can cut off a lot of the bat and spider spawns that are up in there but uh yeah it's it generally it's it's it's a rather murky place to live it's it's decent and it's very very tempting but uh yeah it's it's one of those spots you end up regretting building in there eventually i would recommend building an open spot where you have more easily accessible sources of water and such like that yeah the castle it's pretty it's really pretty but i would recommend building somewhere else all right now this little spot right up here right up above viking bay this is a really really pretty spot really good spot uh if you're now i'm gonna actually mark this one as more of an area that you uh that is a really good base location if you just know that if you build down here on this little flat land every once in a while you will have to deal with uh alphas or just raptors saber toots all sorts of stuff uh but there are ways around that there's a ton of beaver dams right down in here mean a ton of beaver dams down in this area which makes it a very good location every once in a while you will have to deal with microraptors just know that um now when it comes around to my favorite area for building on this it's uh probably right down here on this little bit it's a little bit more an advanced location because it takes uh you end up having to create your own platform your own flat area which means uh pillar building but it is a really really good spot and it's right here on this little bit and i built a base here once and i never regretted it it was such a good area there's so many cool resources around here there's the beaver dams right up here it's got a beautiful backdrop in between two mountains there's tons of metal around here there's crystal and i'll show you where the crystal is here in a sec there's argents over there so many resources there's even a you have even have your own quetzal flying right there yeah your mileage may vary on the question but questions do come through here it's a really phenomenal spot now i would recommend if you're gonna come up here uh set aside uh um probably a couple days worth so where you can get the nice platform going you can build up like this you can come over you can build a nice bridge over here another bridge coming over to this so you have access to just everything you even have access to uh uh bears that come down from up there therazinos carnos uh all sorts of cool stuff now the crystal i was mentioning is located right underneath here where is it right down through here oh no no this is the metal i've gone down too far all right hold on yeah right through here in this cave system crystal right there it's not a lot i mean there's some over here as well but uh it is enough to uh have it constantly respawn you constantly farm it yeah this is this is a pretty decent cave um once again if you're gonna build in the cave cave building it's a thing all right so uh yeah let's uh talk about a couple other ones and this spot right here is located right here on this map it's really hard to miss right over here is mount doom area where every once in a while you can look out your window you can see it erupting it's a pretty good spot it honestly this is one of my favorite spots as well yeah all right so let's go over this way because there are there is this huge little basin over here and this is the last place i want to touch on because there's a lot of really good spots over here um once again this is more of an area you know pick your spot that you like that uh really messes meshes with you really speaks to you and then build there i really encourage that it's once again ragnarok is such a vast uh map and there's so much going on in it that there is so many good base locations there is no way i'm gonna be able to cover all of them but uh yeah there's quite a few all right now once again all right now here we are here's the basin that goes in here and you can actually kind of see it in all its glory from this distance now if you were to build over here on this little bit it is very tempting but just know that you have this whole backdrop up top right up there where you will have things dropping off into your base area now there are a few different caves down through here where you can build that will uh um and go underneath and um go and get away from a bunch of that uh and it's kind of intermeshed in between underneath all of this which is really really cool but once again cave building is a thing and so uh yeah if you're gonna do that i highly encourage it uh just know that you're gonna have to venture out eventually and go get uh uh some more resources elsewhere but you do also have this massively cool you know uh james bond super villain uh volcano that you can hide underneath which is very cool now um there's also spots over here along this uh there is a lot of carnivores that spawn over here but uh this spot right here if you if you build more out so um towards the waterfall and you're generally safe from a bunch of stuff that drops off you will have to build those ugly walls that come down but that's just the thing you know with building in this area um now there are a few other locations down like this uh where you will have to pipe up water and stuff like that uh there is a few uh spots over here where you can build some bases that you'll have to pipe water as well uh although there is a few over here where they do have water that you can get from but a lot of these things are just for show um find a pool that uh you can pump water from and then you can work that way but there's tons of metal around here so many spinos matter of fact if you're gonna level up a dinosaur uh bring it down here and fight these spinos it is such a good and valuable source of experience it is great um but yeah just know that uh yeah you're gonna have to be kind of fighting it a little bit when it comes around to uh um not being airborne because if you're gonna build over here you need to be airborne now there is this bridge up here and i built a pretty good base on this bridge and it turns out to be quite well but water is definitely a thing you're gonna be fighting for so either pump it from somewhere or build a bunch of reservoirs if you're gonna build up there just know that this area up here it's it's a little bit more challenging and you will have to deal with things coming in and to your base every once in a while because there is a mosh pit right next door although this spot is very tempting for building uh you can patch these holes in the floor and i would recommend doing so um but yeah this spot right here this this is a mosh pit for the winter biome right here yeah and it's all sorts of stuff spawns right here you'll have fiomias getting chased by microraptors right into your base all the time so you're gonna have to block these edges off all right so anyway that's my best picks for ragnarok there is so many good base locations on this map uh yeah if if i didn't cover your favorite one i'm sorry but uh yeah ragnarok is just such a vast map with so many good building locations and these are my favorites uh marked by my absolute favorite and then a couple ones that are just below it like the waterfall base over by the beavers that's a great spot
