who was boss root none other than the first basic striker to achieve success in mma this is a guy with killer bomb strikes which he used to punish the organs of his rivals [Music] brewton spent most of his career in one of my favorite promotions fan crates and today i will show you the best fight finishes of this sports legend which will prove to you once again that the old school is the best school 1996 a fight against katsuomi inagaki a better than average fighter who had strung together countless fights without getting knocked out and now rutin will attempt what others had failed to do the logan hit katsuomi even threw a block a blow to the body but inigaki performs a takedown to immediately get into a choke from the back that's japanese luck inagaki grabs the ropes and gets a minus point according to the pancreas rules katsuomi perfectly catches rootin on punches and transfers to the ground but in a stance a dutch punch gets his liver root is finished rootin in a stand strikes the liver and again a heavy blow to the liver and agaki needs to be loaded onto a stretcher and sent by helicopter to the hospital but this is japan katsumi stands up overcoming great pain one of the hardest blows to the liver i've ever seen just listen to the sound see and now i go rutin raises his right hand to distract katsuomi and a heavy blow with the toe of a pro wrestling boot i can't imagine how much pain inugaki endured but if you thought that he wouldn't get up you were wrong there were no weak fighters in pancrease rutin decides to throw a high kick in an exchange but then hits the liver again inugaki is saved with a clinch knee to the body when lifting to the stands one of the crowns of the dutch puncher this is the end rootin had a way of defeating the best fighters at their peak but remember the debut of boss the first pancreas show in history they had real fights even before the ufc a showdown with hefty pro wrestler ryushi didn't really know how to fight and considered himself a puncher we'll just have to see about that yanagasawa throws a low kick but rudin has other ideas a high kick from rootin followed by a powerful palm strike that knocks yanagisawa down ryushi begins to suspect that he is further removed from pro wrestling than he first thought yanagasawa stands up but rudin's frenzied punches crushes his opponent it's a knockout boss rootin's debut was the most impressive fight of the first pancreas show which left audiences certain that these were real fights and not japanese pro wrestling ryushi yanagisawa faced a tough dutch kickboxer and simply wasn't ready for that kind of power yanagasawa was hooked however and in the future would fight mirko proka in k1 none other than boss rootin was the star that night let me remind you how bankrace came about one day two young pro wrestlers got tired of handing matches to the old fighters based solely upon popularity masakatsu funaki and minouri suzuki decided to start their own promotion the rules and surroundings were much the same as in our favorite bushido wrestling but the matches were held in reality for the pleasure of the viewing public fanaki and suzuki traveled the world in search of talon and one day met boss rutin in a dutch gym what can i say the guy struck gold and the rest is history the second fight of rutin against the robust takako fukay heavy front kick phuket responds with a pass but rootin famously sprawled then took on a guillotine not bad for a clean puncher experienced bouquet quickly went to the mouth and applied an armbar but rutin literally dragged fuke through the entire ring and grab the rope minus the score for rooting phuket does exactly what he has to do egos can only be saved by wrestling skills but rutin was on alert the knee was lifted into a stance and was already applied to the liver knockout in good old kickboxing style in pancrease counting knockdowns and bouquet was unable to recover bas rutin said that he deliberately caught bouquet on the exhale so that the blow was even more destructive class rootin's star power illuminated even brighter but in 1994 the dutchman faced a fight with vernon white of the lion's den vernon white was a taekwondo coach and had some victories but compared to the boss kick had nothing white can only count on his fight which he did vernon tries to move rooting with a heavy front kick to the ground and again a takedown but this time white hits the guillotine a great finish then vernon trained grappling for only one year and he and boss were on roughly equal terms by the way rudin admitted that in the first couple of years the guillotine was the only thing he could do on the ground in the same year el guapo clashed with one of the founders of hank race minori suzuki who was then undefeated boss was seriously nervous before this fight since suzuki could do anything to him in the stalls as their skill levels were too different minori comes out in his trademark bad boy style fans adored him and at this time the stocky japanese fighter had already managed to beat vernon white marie smith and even ken shamrock in a very tough and violent fight even today suzuki is considered the king of catch wrestling if i had to bet on this fight then i would obviously not have been on root netty suzuki circles around the ring and boss takes aim realizing that the japanese fighter should not be allowed to close high kick and a palm strike to drop the japanese wrestler knock down minouri realized that it was time to stop playing puncher look here he caught his leg hoping to move to the ground but forgot that a puncher like rudin would not miss his chance to sustain an attack rootin flies for the finisher but suzuki was on alert nice takedown suzuki had a serious amateur career in wrestling as rooten himself said in the stalls of minori he was a master and minouri easily engages the sidemount rutin punched him in the back of the head but suzuki didn't lose faith and knocked him back with a headbutt rutin attentive understanding that due to the slightest mistake in the ground with minouri he will have to walk on thin ice suzuki relaxed let ruden rise and that was a crucial mistake this root and body knee ended suzuki's winning streak and left local fans in shock el guapo was crushed on the ground but won every episode in the stance ken shamrock said that the reason for suzuki's defeat was only two factors small size and gaps in striking technique which maduri never made up for through the end of his career manabu yamada an extremely dangerous guy who fought an mma back in the late 80s in the chute promotion before the birth of ufc believe it or not he even beat chad stahlski directed by john west true the difference in size and shock clearly worked in favor of boss rooting a hard palm strike from yamada but rudin also hits the fight goes to the ground where the dutchman takes his back the experienced japanese fighter managed to escape but immediately falls into another boss room trap a triangle choke through the arm el guapo flung to his opponent like a python until the proud samurai passed out this was an old-school submission rudin was not happy about this victory but in the end yamada was okay look boss pretended to try to knock out yamata with a deflection but immediately threw in a choke as he weakened his defense a particular note is the boss root trilogy with jason delucia the mma kung fu fighter young jason was already trained at the lion's den in his debut he caught masakatsu funaki himself on a mistake so he was confident that he could beat rutin we all know delusion's trademark the sidekick from the front foot but this was simply ineffective on rutin who efficiently counters these blows a good transfer from dilution to the ground attacking rootin's leg but rutin confidently grabbed the ropes he wants to fight in the stance same scenario sluggish sidekick killer high kick from boss jason tries to move the fight to the ground but too slowly steal pliers from el guapo the referee separates the fighters but does not notice that delusion is grabbing the ropes rutin argues with the referee and delucia is in no hurry to confess continuation of the fight this transfer to the ground was even more clumsy than the last one rutin took advantage leading to a guillotine show this was the end it was evident that delucia realized he was not able to withstand the striking of rooting and was looking for salvation in the stance but to no avail what i adore about jason he never gave up even sought revenge a year and a half later as delusion characterized it rutin was just lucky the first time which only added fuel to the fire an attempt to move to the ground by jason delucia slightly clumped the attack to which grewton responds with a heavy middle kick delusion catches him and moves him to the ground delusion grabs rooten's leg root and responds in kind in a wrestling fight boss rootin wins again this time with a toehold delucia was understandably disappointed after all this time he lost in one and a half minutes even faster than the first fight but the lions den fighter for some reason decided that his lucky number was three and a year later he confronted el guapo again boss rooten was already a champion then he planned to work for 15 minutes debris and only then knock out jason but that plan quickly changed you'll see why this time delusion finally realized that there was nothing to catch on the ground with boss and decided to bet on the stance nothing good awaited him here either rutin said that he hit the upper chest with his fist which he learned over the years of studying kyokushin karate but jason protests claiming that the blow was in his throat on the replay it's hard to see who was right but rutin's warning was passed worth noting according to the pancreas rules you can hit the body with a fist but the head only with the palm jason delucia didn't know that the champion would let him do his job and was extremely glad to be able to squeeze boss but delusion cannot be underestimated many have already paid for it there was a cosmic difference in the power of blows de lucia was afraid to even off blows to the block and the difference in weight made itself felt delusion managed to break through rooting's defense several times and el guapo realized that it was time to fight seriously the dutchman beats his opponent's body and strikes with his bomb this time rutin struck precisely to the chest but the fist slid over to lucio's defense and the referee punishes the champion again delusia is again in no hurry to tell the truth deciding to take him by cunning yellow card again angry boss wants blood flies with heavy blows and hits jason's throat again he admits guilt says i'm sorry i missed that is the violation was not intentional although later root will say that he hit in the chest and delusion was accused the truth is somewhere in the middle roon broke a little and delusion complained too much that it didn't fit with the warrior image he displayed in other fights now rutin is serious he simply turns into a dutch terminator and pounds the top fighter like a nail delucia's body was already turned into one continuous bruise this powerful combination sends him to the floor but the lion's den fighter stands up a crazy attack from rooting body punches and middle kicks knocked down to lucia jason claims that the hit was in the groin a last-ditch effort in vain as it angered boss even more later the enraged boss rutin lands two sliding blows with his hands into the body delusion collapsed from hellish pain determined he rises again from the ashes this is quintessential lion's den but in vain one of the most terrifying body knockouts in mma history as delusion suffered a liver rupture from these punches incredible this is why pancreas fights were more difficult than the standard mma rules in the conditional ufc felucia would have lost a rootin after the first knockdown but in pink race he was counted out knocked down after knocked out each time dooming to hellish payne delucia put rutin on blast not only during the fight but also after it in the book total mma he stated that rutin was allegedly the product of fights against comfortable opponents and that the leadership allegedly wanted to make him a star by putting psychological pressure on delusion himself in other words delusion hinted that he was being forced to merge rooten's fights but you yourself could be convinced that el guapo did not need outside help even guy metzger delusion's teammate confirmed this [Music] in other words jason was a great fighter but he couldn't calm down because he was constantly losing to rooting in the fight with maurice smith everything changed dramatically now boss ruden should have been nervous in the stance as smith was on a completely different level world kickboxing champion k-1 veteran rutin had never achieved such heights in the sport but in pink race boss had more experience and a little counter-attack plan for the world champion [Music] smith easily blocks rootin's high kick boss works more aggressively but a little confused this palm hit to the shoulder but smith lost his balance and fell boss won't let him go pouncing on his leg smith grabs the ropes restart finally smith turned up the heat and went on the attack but rutin went into the clinch and then dragged him to the ground extremely cleverly rootin drops smith and performs a painful flow to the leg knee bar and smith immediately gives up fearing for his health as he knew almost nothing about wrestling great win for boss root after half a year they met again root and fidgeted noticeably and decided he was ready to fight the kickboxing elite in a stance rooten responds to his low kick and that front kick is taken down by smith a powerful attack from rutin now smith escapes on the ground a spectacular takedown a terrific robot in a standing position this left hook to the liver was definitely felt by smith exit to a painful hole from the stands smith escapes to the ropes the lion's den fighter tries to keep his distance but rootin pushes him holds him against the ropes and finds himself in the stalls again a bright fight palm strike knee kick from smith now root and drags his opponent to the ground nice sweep submission attempts he is head and shoulders above the world kickboxing champion newbie error smith gives back and the dutchman chokes off his opponent's oxygen it's high time for a showdown with the fierce guy metzger basic karate world kickboxing champion world champion of ufc four an honored fighter with lion's den guy metzger was bigger than rudin his kick was no worse and in addition metzger had a fighting base which would clearly play a role in this fight rootin's signature hurricane front kick but metzger clinches and drops the champion metzker's fight was on a completely different level brown metzger a high kick with his front foot without a step this blow knocked down a lot of people deadly body punches this is boss rootin a series of bomb strikes from the dutchman the lion's den fighter is clearly puzzled and responds with ura moashigiri the left in the jump shook metzger he really had nothing to answer in a stand but the lotus blooms twice and the american finally joints the fray by the way every time the fight went to the ground metzger confidently wiped the floors with boss rooting but rudin had good protection from metzger's painful blow and he successfully survived the floor this fight has already passed 19 minutes incredible the guy somersaults in hopes of applying a knee bar and rutin takes on a wrestling fight it even hurts to look at it rudin injured metzger which he wanted to avoid as they were friends but alas this was a tough sport take a look at this barbaric submission rutin just grabbed the opponent's foot with his hands and twisted it at an extreme angle [Music] 1998 boss rootin had already packed his bags before flying to the united states for his ufc debut guy metzger told him no boy wait i trained one animal here purely for you you cannot refuse and rutin did not refuse unfortunately for kango watanabe it was kango's debut i don't know why they decided to toss him to the champion like a lambs of the slaughter but rutin took the risk anyway one mistake or one injury could forever bury plans to move to the ufc nobody would call him in case of defeat to an unknown old hixon was in the hall with a sharp middle kick to the body kango tries to escape in the clinch but ends up receiving even more heavy body punches boss is in kill mode he literally forgets there's an opponent but watson avi responds incredible a knee and a hard right hook knocks the japanese fighter down he gets up but after such a blast his days are numbered watanabe flies into the attack but the pancreas star again knocks him down with his signature blow i can't believe my eyes he continues the fight but kango is doomed another series of punches finished him off in one of boss rooten's most aggressive fights he was in great shape and for kanga watanabe it was not meant to be [Applause] now it's time to unleash the guy who bent the ufc completion of the trilogy with frank shamrock and the continuation of the confrontation with the lion's den hall frank was the interim pancrease champion back then and was about to face the big bots at that time shamrock and brewton had bet twice already in the first fight the decision was taken by the lion's den fighter the second by rutin and the third fight was supposed to work things out in this war the gong struck great high kick from boss but frank clinches it powerful throw north south position but rutin breaks out and the fight returns to the stands heavy loki shamrock provokes the opponent two showmen in the ring frank applies to clinch again but rutin is too strong physically quitting is not easy needed ahead from rooting you don't see that in the ufc brewton doesn't have kicks but real guns frank responds with a takedown again great fight this is what happens when he decides to fight with boss fruit in the stands knock down shamrock tries to knock out boss's pivot leg rooting throws punches to the head and so the guys dashingly fly to the ropes it was spectacular the dutchman is the first to return to the ring and frank crawls with difficulty he received a lot of punches and it was not that easy the fight continued typical disassembly of puncher and wrestler it was one of hank race's most spectacular fights boss rooten was top-notch but shamrock exhausted himself with spectacular throws knees to the head from the champion but frank doesn't care golden times frank tire moves the fight to the ground but boss fruitin sees it and punches shamrock with his heavy blows [Applause] famous funny moment shamrock begins to tease root and evil root and even punches opponent a couple of times which he later honestly admitted although he tried to make excuses in the ring yes old rudin liked to break the rules in his day too [Music] rudin was especially angry now in an attempt to move to the ground by shamrock rutin defends himself and even lands a need of the head guillotine boss cut off the poor guy's oxygen so much that frank could not get up he was counted down following a knockdown missed hits fatigue from an active robot all this finally finished off shamrock and even though he was ready to continue the referee stops the fight due to a cut boss rootin wins the trilogy this is one of the most famous pancrease fights the most spectacular one of my favorite fights to defeat only harden frank shamrock and in the end he will only become stronger adding the ufc title to his [Music] portfolio a showdown with osami shiboya an extremely athletic guy who once managed to fight back in a draw with boss when rutin suffered a serious chest injury this time boss planned to finish quickly and attempt to transfer to the ground from sheboya but rutin quickly applies the guillotine then simply lets go and lands his knee to the body excellent robot shaboya believed in his fight but ended up falling into the trap of the champion himself bas rutin performs a brutal suffocation literally bending the japanese fighter into a ram's horn one of the most outstanding pain techniques in history and in 1996 boss rootin finally got the fight he had been craving for two years rematch with matsukasu funaki the king of japanese catch wrestling pancray's head and a man who defeated him in 1994. unlike minori suzuki benaki weighed over 90 kilograms was extremely athletic his kick was great and he was a god on the ground funaki was one of only two people to defeat ken shamrock in fancrace he performed submissions that no one had seen before and now he had to finish rooting boss recalls that matsukasu walked up to him before the fight and ran his finger down his throat hinting he would finish him off at that moment rutin realized that he would beat funaki like never before but fanaki's wrestling was still light years ahead of root and skills this will be one of the toughest fights of his life a powerful loken in the first seconds nobody expected less from the champion kunaki holds them and bides his time a hard kick from funaki and the fight goes to the ground the japanese fighter goes to boss's leg he wants to give a painful blow to the achilles but then he rebuilds and switches to a brutal twisting of the foot look how boss's leg is twisted but the champion holds on he admitted that he miraculously did not knock them the moment is lost and the referee restarts boss hunts for the opponent's head but hits the ground again funaki moved well on the ground constantly kept his opponent in suspense but left his guard down and let root rise a killer combination accurate kick from boss funaki is not doing well in the stance need of the body but funaki doesn't give up he clung like a pit bull this is in exchange and the strongest blow was thrown by funaki he got a second win masakatsu tried to hit rutin's leg to no avail the champion continues to throw punches from the stands he planned to drag out the fight as funaki never fought for more than 15 minutes [Music] rooten throws off funaki masakatsu flies at him with blows but himself runs into a counter-attack roon is ruthless crushing blow with the bomb but funaki gets up he can't be broken masakatsu fed on the transfer to the ground but an accurate finishing blow from rutin forces the referee to count down another knockdown masakatsu funaki prepares for the final dash old school respect the dutch puncher shoots funaki in the corner but masakatsu continues to fight high kick from matsukatsu he fights with the last breath rutin throws his entire arsenal at him even though he's also tired an effective series of punches and fudaki is back on the floor is it really the end it was not there funaki is getting to his feet just listen to the audience fight with your last breath heaviest speed of the head rutin throws blows with all his might but masakatsu is still on his feet he grabs the ropes and the referee defines the rope escape just look at how exhausted rudin is the fight has already passed 17 minutes this is how the japanese veteran fought he doesn't care that he's already doomed he only cares about the fans he is ready to inspire them even if he is carried out on a stretcher funaki flies straight to the dutchman exhausting clinch fighting heavy palm and knee blows from the champion a blow to the body this knee massacopsis benaki could no longer stand boss root is completely exhausted see here he gets up but falls again rootin admitted that he was on the verge that fight in this fight he showed everything he could after this fight only one fighter could withstand boss like that his name was kevin randleman masakatsu banaki was a worthy challenger this carnage is still considered by many to be the best fight in pancrease history for me this organization is the greatest in history and is certainly on par with pride in k1 in my opinion what do you think about boss ruth's career and the organization of pancrase please don't forget to leave your comments under the video as your opinion
