BadA$$ 1972 Monte Carlo

all right so we're over here at Carlile today and this year it is dead man this shows been dying off for at least 1012 years every year there's a little less cars but there's like a quarter of what was here last year it's just there's probably could at AIDS virus that's floating around people are scared to come out I don't know they cancelled a burnout contest but I did find this dude that lifts my clothes to me that watches my videos name's Austin I pretty cool dude and this is his Monte Carlo now what is this a 70 71 or - this is a 72 Monte Carlo vision of wanting it to make a NASCAR style because I really like vintage NASCAR and it's always been a dream of mine to kind of make this car have a NASCAR style so I was in an accident and I had it fixed and you know in the coverage stages of it being fixed I went ahead and had a lot of friends help me with the bodywork so we had the hood done and yes a lot a lot of people say that this car is inspired by The Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift car so that's why I kind of went with the cowl hood but I wanted to run the big tire so oh yeah that's these tires that are that means yeah all four are 28 by 12s by 15 s so it's basically a little bigger than at 275 tire all the way around so that's when I had the fender flairs made this is all steel I had a friend of mine his name is Joe he's a very good body man and molded these fenders and the hood he did the hood too and then we were able to get the steering to clear right tires with the fender flare yeah I'd love to see what it look like without the flares you know yeah it's old stereotype true Billy driving a straight line and obviously the core is not complete I'm running it in primer right now boy he was saying he just got it on the road yesterday to get it here yes I've been working on it all year yep it was a very cut cut class as a lot of things that still need done yet on the interior I want to do up as far as the shifter is three-speed automatic with the slapper and there's some gauges attack standard - the clock does not work but it's got a clock it doesn't matter if it works or not it's got the clock and a killer stereo system bluetooth that's that mono speaker from back in the day yeah yeah it's like the new-age boombox but yeah I want to do aluminium door paneling I want to do a small roll cage I want to get rid of this crummy backseat I want to do up the headliner and I got a lot of plans for interior I want to put new floor pans and carpet racing seats I'm trying to find some low back racing scheme yeah I can show you under the hood quick why not I mean it's got to be more interesting than this thing over here this guy came from Arizona Marisa I know I seen it earlier and I walked right past is actually 86 Chevy truck motor fear bolt main and it's got a mild cam forged dished pistons for boost because I'm plan on boosting this eventually got a 9 to 1 compression held abroad aluminum heads roller rockers I'm pretty sure it's a roller cam got some wiring I got to tidy up some wiring I'm gonna put new brakes on it ok it's a work in progress aren't they all oh yeah definitely it's always something if it's not one thing it's another this is actually custom made out of a beer keg I mean well you need that big shroud on it I know you're not trying to hold the hood for an hour but if you look at that shroud where it is if you took that shroud away take a look at this one how much clearance space you have to actually stand in there and work on your car because the Monte Carlo is have such a long nose on them six I think it's like six inches longer than a Chevelle I normally run electric fans but I had one break and now I had to go back to the clutch fan so another day another time I'll put the fans man another day another dollar yeah so uh tell him about these tires a little bit more about him funny story on them was I wanted to run actual NASCAR tires and I actually got a set of NASCAR tires and I was like looking at these things I'm like no I'm not doing this it's too dangerous cuz their slicks you know right so I got rid of them and I did some research in here I got in contact with the time okay you could have fooled me it did for me I walked past those those are pretty damn badass and they still are but go ahead I got in contact with Tom Hart over in England who built the Nash torture the FASTA Furies charger and he dropped onto the NASCAR frame I was like hey man what tires did you use they're Mickey Thompson's sportsman s arse that and then I got Goodyear stickers to put on did if you look at it now it when he point when he pointed it out I realized it's a sticker that goes over the actual tire but dude they don't peel back they feel it's actual rubber they feel good yeah the letters are rubber and walking past I had no idea I didn't I've heard about I've heard about tire stickers before but I didn't know they would look that good some people love it some people hate it because there's good years lettering on a Mickey Thompson tire well I was always skeptical about it I thought about doing that myself but I was like how good could it honestly look well I didn't know the difference it's how you said something man yeah then I looked in at close and I was like oh okay I see it now but it works man should stop giving my secrets away no man give your secrets away and they've got a promotion from the company man tire stickers calm great guys Danny was saying that you can build them to any size you want any lettering you want you give the dimensions they'll make you exactly what you want and it comes in a kit they give you gloves they give you a glue little bottle of cleaner they give you gloves nice yeah the exhaust by the way is a long tube headers down to two flex pipes and then to two flowmaster forty series full chamber so it's just like the v-shape inside and it's just about the side right on and then I have it if you look at the exhaust stick there there tipped up so that it clears the frame rail that was also on the Tokyo you got kickstands on this thing yeah I had that custom-made I see him right there cool how's the clearance on the headers with this pretty good even with the two-inch lowering drop spindles no problem right on my fired up short so you don't have to but I kind of hear it now should sound pretty good 3/4 a scam you said see you got a beefy sway bar back there yeah hotchkins front and rear sway bars nice Oh hot chick is trailing arms trailing ones yeah there you go but now this is awesome seeing other people get out here and do this stuff because everywhere I live everybody's driving folks wagons Chuck in July on wheels yeah good yeah well yeah man that's it I dig it I'm gonna try and keep in contact with this man and if you want to see more of the car let us know down in the shit-talking section mm-hmm right on all right I'll catch everybody later I got a lot more to film today so I stick around [Music]
