okay for us two thousand fans hopefully we haven't kept you waiting but this s2000 came all the way from Alabama and as you see it already has a supercharger kit on it well it hasn't ran particularly good and there's a few small issues what we're going to address it's got a clutch in it that doesn't feel too good we're going to aesthetically change this up here you see the way the filter is do you see all this stuff down here you see how busy it is down there there's hoses and filters and horns and all kinds of stuff another thing is it has a DC header which is too small for this motor nashi aspirated let alone supercharged so we're changing those we're going to do the lht revisions and we're going to do suspension it has the stock suspension the stock height we're going to do our favorite suspension the body club and drop it three quarters of an inch [Music] you know things for know here notice that the heat shield is completely missing that does go back in by the way but they did leave the bolt which makes one less boat for us to find also the plastic covering here was removed this is your vent down here so if you think as you're going through air the air comes in here and most of it is gonna come out here because it's easier for the air to pass through here as opposed to go through the radiator also there is a plastic cover down there which I can see the floor so most of that cover is missing he did bring some cover so we're gonna install all those plastic cover him back in there I'm not trying to toot our own horn as they say but I mean right buy into the clamps I mean please put your clamps the same way you know just take a little bit of time alright transmissions off and it looks like it's got pretty good grease in there I don't know how long it's being put together clutch is a spec clutch these are actually not that bad I'm gonna say anything about a battle I just say I prefer bushmasters that's what is going in here so I clutch it's in pretty good shape it doesn't show any signs of burning which is good means it's been broken incorrectly this is the clutch masters clutch of course the bearing that we supply with our clutch kit is that the Nicci bearing were which is the OEM baron if you buy from honda the supplier for Honda is Nietzsche the brand that came out of the spec Lodge is a generic release bearing as you see the dust cover is already cracking you've seen in the past one of our last videos the nht TLC video you see the last baron had chunks missing which the grease comes out of it and clutch dust goes in there ruins the bearing twice as fast this one is already loose and there is a spacer that sits in there it's like a spring spacer that breaks and falls out so now saying that the clutch is bad but this makes a good clutch bad now we change a ton of these this is the pilot bearing it goes in the flywheel even on cars that have 10-12 years even longer these bearings they really go bad when we change them anyway there's an aftermarket bearing I think this clutch has been in here less than a year again no marks on it no name nobody's proud enough to put her name on it it's definitely not Nietzsche or an NS K alright I've got both the headers here this DC header came off the car the shop that installed the supercharger also installed this header I feel like we've gone over this before but the DC header not the best for the application you can see on the head here where they've enlarged the tube just to line up the skunk too obviously it's the same size they use much larger primary tubes they also step up one time the collector for the two into one is a much better flowing collector than you know a couple pipes just kind of shoved into that one and also the narrow pairing you know you pair three and four and one and two together that's better for the supercharger that's why we use this header and install this header so this is the boot that goes on the inside of the car it covers up their shifter mechanism right here and we've shown you in past videos how to take this off and this is a fairly new car and someone's obviously took it off wrong you see how this clip is broke this one's completely broke and the little tab on here is broke which means when it goes in here it won't clip on all the way down it sits and has a gap which put one noise and he'd come through here and also you know they moisture from underneath the car actually can come and splash through here get in the console so looking to keep these rings in stock so it's pretty easy install it's just gonna pop right up here so just in case you need it for yourself there is the part number super easy install and again it's just you know someone working on the car that is not used to working on s2000s we see this a lot that you see when I put it on you see it's got the extra little Clips thrown all of those install is easy just snaps it back down but again use your fine blade screwdriver to remove these and there is an arrow to show you where to remove it if you look through our past videos you can see that snap that back thank you to the nicer so how long is that hose this is just the back of the foot then if you wanted to put your supercharger fluid in the car next to you yeah yep it perfectly fine it's like a jumpstart for your supercharger your fluid up to the supercharger start their engine start your engine start bleeding yeah well we'll lay it all out in the floor and show on which extra hose is in here that they didn't need there is extras because this is not kit hose yeah that's actually aftermarket hose and their hoses so nice we actually buy their hose I don't know where they get it but he's a much better quality hose and we buy their clamps too I just see someone who's used warm clamps so that's good to know so these we we changed we're gonna change those to the spring clamps we actually have the Kraftwerk spring clamps and again they're supplying them but we've never had an issue with them a new clamps especially do a spring clamps always the best way to go it's not something else I figured we would show you and again we're not just bashing this kit we're just showing you some of the things that are not done correctly you see the nut right there zoom in on that see there's very little thread there's only maybe half less than half a nuts worth of thread which means you're not getting much tension on there if you do put any kind of tension on there it's gonna strip cuz it's not got a full thread on the nut and that's because the stud is being screwed in too far you might see in some of our earlier videos we show you how we measure that to make sure we get a full nut screw in that stud lock tight it and then we put our nut on there so again that's just one of those extra little telltale signs also something else we looked at this we don't like it there is the hose that goes it's a bypass I was basically you see it goes here well this is a piece that is supplied and it's a plastic piece which I'm not gonna say it's not designed for coolant but it's probably not designed for coolant so we're gonna remove that and make that one straight piece of hose it's one less thing to worry about in the future even if that is gonna work five ten years down the road if something's gonna break it could be that and then you coolant pumps out do this some HOCl ground cover on top of the fuel pump not sure that's actually what it is but is what it looks like to me it does done it you know if you used to make a trouble model railway imagine a little train driving by this would look perfectly normal that'd be perfect Wow I am over here in my corner changing the fuel pump because it come with the fuel pump and we don't use those we've had one or two fail in the past we just get so that we don't use we'd rather not have to pull it apart multiple times but I did notice the strainer here doesn't have the little metal clip on it so that just pulls right off you wouldn't want that to happen in your gas tank you know while you're driving or using the car because then you lose fuel pressure and you could possibly lose your motor so I got my oil ro 255 this is a piece that goes into the fuel pump housing but go and put that back on there and we'll check in the fuel pump box and see if the clip is in there because I did come with the box yes little clip is in there [Music] go ahead and get this on here so that we won't have any issues with this at all okay so stock suspension is off and the body club suspension is on it's already set up to our favorite settings we typically drop these about 3/4 of an inch but don't need an aggressive drop to make a difference again you see it looks aesthetically better without going really low and of course they handle better drop in the center of gravity going with a slightly stiffer spring rate and adjusting the dampers gives you that really nice handling this customer is actually interested and getting something close to the CR well nice thing about putting oil overs is you can set them at the CR specs or a little bit more aggressive and you've got ultimate adjustability so in the future if you do decide to do anything more with the car you've got all the adjustability to do that so the clutch is in a couple of other things going to do we're going to redo the bracketry on the supercharger not sure if I'm gonna show you that yet maybe I will now let's come to header is in and of course the heat shield is back we're doing the pipe revisions which means the pipe goes over this side as you see it's pointing that way we removed all the hosing around there the reservoir is back we're going to redo the hoses and again take a closer look at our kids we do take a lot more time to clean up the hoses we don't do any took in by any means but we do reroute the hoses which makes them much much cleaner so take a look at that and we'll refer back to the original shots too so the pipe here is getting changed to is having the air temp sensor put underneath it's much cleaner and that pipe will match this pipe ok so just to give you a heads up I'm not trying to rip on the past installer we're bringing to your attention some of the things that should be done correctly so hope we're not coming off as being obnoxious here but there's a lot of mistakes on the supercharger and we're just kind of showing you what you should look for and again give it as a plug to say why you should come see us so whoever installed the supercharger a lot of these plastics they just cut them out you see there's a big chunk in there this undertray big chunk missing he supplied these two pieces that were going to install and do the minimal amount of trim and also I found out this fender liner was cut too which kind of sucks because there's a big piece fender liner means it goes on the inner part of the fender this is the way it looks in the car hey sucks because it's a big piece but this right here would have would have a piece that comes out here and joins this way and the middle section attaches to it this piece right here it actually attaches to this and somebody just just slice this which sucks and we've ordered that it'll be here today and we'll put all that back and we'll show you how much better of a job we do have putting this together it takes a little bit more time but it's not that big of a deal and it does make a difference I mean Honda has gone to a lot of effort to build all this plastic and it's there for a reason it's not just to cover up you know any holes it's to actually be functional to push air through the appropriate areas all right so update on the panel the fender liner just came in this morning so that is getting installed you see how much cleaner this is you see the whole piece that was cut off the other one it was cut across here well now we've got all this back you see this is the part that he supplied it's cut nicely it's not just removed or hacked up much much cleaner so again the other panel right there this one this one is one that he supplied this is the one that we ordered just got it this morning Georgia just put the clothes back in the final screws and that is what it should look like all right so we just went for the pipes to put back on see this cover is now installed this was completely removed again like I was trying to describe is you got air going in here across the intercooler so the intercooler is taken all the air flow first and what goes through the intercooler goes to the condenser and the radiator so you imagine if used to remove on these panels remove this panel or this panel as the air comes this way it would go to one of these areas first sim with this here would be quite happy to go out of here and it wouldn't adequately cool the air or the radiator and condenser so trying to show you how important these plastic panels are our hundred doesn't just have a surplus of these and say well we have to use them and let's put them on cars it's a good way to get rid of them these are actually designed specifically for the car for the airflow to do what it needs to do so without negatively affecting the airflow we're trimming this very minimal so we're not disrupting the air and we're not pushing the air into a different direction now on this kit they used the Kraftwerk's gasket we always tell you not to and this is why you can see it's just kind of like spreading out of there and if you look in the VTEC solenoid screen there's a big piece of the gasket stuck in the screen that's why we tell you not to use it it's inferior to the OEM gasket it's the wrong shape it needs to be an actual oring this is not correct so rub them to remove this to do some of our bracket changes and cost now is a good time to replace the serpentine belt it's probably the original it didn't look really bad but of course we're set in the past it's not an easy job to get to it's a piece of mind to worry about so hot stock plugs in there so we're gonna put a fresh set of our NGK favorite plugs in there I want to get them down to about we pointed out earlier this not this is the stud that goes through the lower idler and the lower part of the bracket now nut is fully engaged you see there's just full full depth of stud in that exactly what it needs to have all right so you remember how messy it was down here with hoses and all kinds of stuff from the filter look how clean it is now so now it gives us more room for our intake here it's not gonna be jammed up on hoses and damaging the filter all right so look how much cleaner that looks and as you see we chose to do the pipes in wrinkled black just goes nice with the corner this Carl is very very stock very stealthy a very OEM catalyst like it's supposed to be there and you see now what got room under our filter it fits looks like it belongs there no it balances out of the engine bay and it doesn't look as cluttered so you've heard us talk about some of the revisions or some of the changes that we make to the kit is a very very good kit but a couple of small things improve it and honor improve the reliability of it but sometimes looks as well but one of bolts we change there is the ARP bolt this all has to be clean by the way it have belt dressing on the old belt I'm not going to go into details but we do change this bracket over here if you have a card um BIOS in the last I'd say the last 20 kits if you go take a look at the VTEC side you see something a little different we do there so now time to put the fluid in and bleed the system double check everything check the belt tension will drive it break in the clutch and then we'll start tuning all right bleed in this dog okay so we're hearing the noise and I'm pretty sure it's a tiny chain tensioner rattling around and also there is another noise in there which once we get the tensioner fixed we can address that void but this had a lot of time in chain tensioner noise and the oil is in good shape we just checked it but timing chain tensioner I found over time if you don't change oil regular the oil doesn't circulate through that tensioner and if you ever take one apart usually really thick and sticky in there so it just replaced it with a brand new OEM so he's quieter oh um for the win all right the blow-off valve I feel is stuck closed I've taken the top off the blow-off valve down there so there's no more spring holding the piston in and I can't get it out by hand so John once you start the car let's see if we can push it out with the air I'm clear enough hey hey you can hear it stuck and it's not coming out blower chattering a super stuck yeah it is and see what the couch in there too so it might have worked at one time yeah it looks like it's dry okay so the bypass valve we just called a blow-off valve it's kind of the same thing the supercharger is belt-driven so though the engine is turning the supercharger the supercharger is creating more air than the engine can ingest so you busy have a surplus of air we shut that off so while the supercharger is idling or under a situation where the engine is not using the air ie partial throttle idle the valve should open and the air should blow out the side well the way it works is the air comes out that to recirculates back into the intake therefore the air just circulates it doesn't take up any energy and it's not creating a positive pressure on the engine when the engine has a positive pressure on it the second you snap the throttle it's creating more air than it had and the car cannot actually adjust for it so you tend to get this like bucking feel the car or nice demonstration right so we've noticed also you'll hear the chatter said I call it chatter is compressor surge as you burp the Frawley hear that it's the air again that the engine can ingest it have it to go somewhere it's backing up into the supercharger just not a good situation has to be addressed it's all scored up on this side look at we're trying to fix it or do we have another one I think I've got a spare ok these are deep you can't trash this one don't go driving over with your truck people hate that no are throw the dumpster people don't weigh they either but people complain if we run things in the nose yeah they want you to keep it power they want you to send it out no oh yeah either send it out to him or keep it in definitely just let you know that's why I supposed to do blah valve test round two now it does what it's supposed to do see now it works right now the blower is actually making more air than the engine can ingest hence it has a bypass valve which opens the air lights up pressure out it recycles back into the intake well when that valve is closed not only is it battle the blower because it backs up it's actually hard on the engine because the second you snap the gas you've got a pressure behind it we turn the lights on the finishes you don't want make sense it's so nice to seal the plastics back in there look - that looks factory George factory yeah yeah I leave all the plastics and don't take them out just trim around them [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right this one is done pretty much the same setup is on every car except this had a great exhaust a little bit smaller diameter but not a huge difference power was pretty much right where they all are going to show you interesting thing right at the end it's weird this little spot right here every single run right at the end it would jump about half a pound of boost right at my 79 and we're running a 283 then graphed over here is 82 but right at the end it would jump one pound of boost which is kind of interesting and it's starting to get pretty hot in here but good power and good torque for 21 to 70 it's pretty much on the money of what they're all doing [Music] okay so here it is finished this is what it looks like let me go ahead and flash up the before so a much cleaner call 7 the intake over on the passenger side we're gonna do some data tests in the future just to show you actually how much benefit you're getting from this but rather than the intake line' here which is right over the radiator and obvious when the fans come on blows hot air in here this is drawing air closer to where the factory would which there is an opening in here and again it's cooler here than it is here most importantly it looks better it just balances things out again much cleaner there all the hoses are disappeared the plastics are all back in so everything is functional now I just say we did the grey wrinkle finish Kennecott goes with the theme and it looks clean and factory it didn't want us to change the spark plug cover so when we did the plugs we went ahead and cleaned it ended our little TLC treatment as well as just endless bolts here so there it is there's a idea of what you're gonna get when we do your supercharger kit versus maybe somebody else so thanks for watching if you like what you see subscribe click the thumbs up and click the bell [Music] [Music]
