BACKYARD MAKEOVER ON SMALL YARD | LANDSCAPING OUR YARD DIY | GARDEN AND YARD WORK

good morning everyone welcome back to my channel so today i'm gonna be filming like a little vlog um and also sharing with you some landscaping that's going on in the backyard this weekend we um went yesterday and got some grass like a we got a half pound of sod for like 30 bucks it was like amazing deal so we're gonna use that in some areas that are really bad in our backyard and then plant grass seed and all the other areas um we also got a ton of plants for like a really great price the guy that we go to he sells plants like so cheap like half the cost of what you would pay for at lowe's or like walmart or something so um we went there got a ton of flowers and trees and stuff and i'm so excited to plant them i can't wait for the summer i'm just excited to have a really pretty backyard we spend so much time outside and it's like a living space for us and i want it to be beautiful and something i'm really proud of so i'm excited to do that um so i figured i'd share that with you i'm not sure what else where our plans are for this weekend um but i am over here at my brother's house right now just letting their dogs out they were out of town so i came over and fed them letting them play and stuff babysitting my niece and nephew my fur babies um i'll show you their dogs they're super cute she doesn't wait for the hunting dog calm down and that's bandit gosh i branded he's gonna go mess with the other one so cool all right so i'm going to go ahead and start laying out some of these plants and i just wanted to let you know that i will list all of them down in the description box that way it's a little bit easier than me trying to pronounce the names of these plants because we all know i am not good with pronouncing things so it'll be in the description box below uh open gently okay hold him gently all right won't we go put him over there in the bush we don't hurt him okay it looks like he's pregnant okay go put him over there in the bush put them right here in this bush right there okay that one's perfect good job five whew okay [Music] walking home late at night maybe half past two a little drunk when i'm alright cause i've been hanging with you and it feels about love so just tell me if i'm wrong but it feels like love it feels like love yeah [Applause] [Music] you should let [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so i'm just gonna we need the last little bit of grass and weeds that we have left and then we are going to start planting some bushes and stuff and i wanted to mention that we do plan on planting some grass seed earlier i mentioned that we got a palette of sod and we did but they couldn't load it up into the truck because the forklift was broken and they weren't going to be able to do it until monday so we decided to just exchange it for a tree and just go with the grass seed usually our grass comes back every summer anyway so we shouldn't have an issue but just to be safe we went ahead and planted some grass seed but i'll show you all that in a little bit later into the video but for now we're just going to go around and plant some of these bushes that we bought all the ones that we got are supposed to be really hearty and full sun so we will see i'll definitely keep you updated i hope that they survive our dirt or basically our yard is nothing but sand so i don't see how there's any nutrients in it so we are trying to pour some garden topsoil in each of the holes just to give it a little bit more nutrients so hopefully they all survived [Music] she got me back turn it the other way [Music] foreign [Music] uh so to give myself some breaks in between of digging and planting the plants i just stopped to go ahead and clean up the patio area a little bit so i'm just going to clean this all off and then blow off all the dirt and sand and then you'll see why we are really hoping that the grass grows every time the wind blows it blows up all of the sand onto our patio which then gets tracked into my house between the dogs and the kids it's impossible to keep up so i'm really really praying that this grass seed takes off if it doesn't we're going to go ahead and get some pallets of sod but we thought we might as well try since usually those the grass comes back every summer i don't think we'll have an issue with it but just in case we're going to have to do something because the the sand isn't working for me it's too much it feels like we're at the beach all the i time look away somehow you turned my life completely upside down and since you've been gone there's no [Music] peace [Music] [Applause] of you [Applause] [Music] so another example of how much i love the kids having this little side by side is they really love to help me with yard work they will go around and clean the yard up throw everything in the back and carry it out to the road and you could just see on his face he was so excited to help me with this he couldn't wait to like back up his little he calls it his jeep he likes to back up his little jeep and load up all the garbage it was the cutest thing and it just makes his day [Music] i've been feeling so small watch the clock ticking off the wall but tonight i'm letting [Music] [Music] i'm gonna skip my breaks i'm gonna make mistakes i just wanna feel the light [Music] it's just what i do when i'm out so try not to hold [Music] nothing can break me dry [Music] [Music] so the garden area looks a lot different this year unfortunately it was a little too big for my britches i am not a gardener clearly it did not last it was just a lot of work so we decided to size it down and just take the boards and make this a higher raised garden bed and just stick with a smaller one for now until i get the hang of it gardening is not easy which i came to find out very quickly after starting that huge garden last year so we're going to make it a little bit smaller and also we don't really have to worry about fencing it off i thought the dogs were gonna like get in there and destroy it but they really didn't so we went ahead and took all that down got rid of that to make some more yard space for the kids okay okay nothing can break me no nothing can break [Music] [Music] look me these beautiful stars i want to drive a faster car my job was too fast [Music] oh [Music] it's just what i do when i'm [Music] [Music] i wanna drive a faster car nothing can break [Music] all right so here's just a quick little overview of some of the plants that we planted i did the two palms by the pool i didn't really share us planting those those were a little bit more difficult um to dig out and stuff but i'm just going to show you a little overview and then we are going to start working on the grass seed [Music] so quick little side note um we are winging this we have no idea what we're doing we had a bag of soil left over and we were like you know what let's spread it across the yard since uh this is basically just sand and hopefully the grass seed will um stick better so we are also going to be planting some rye and bahia seed supposedly the rye will grow really fast and then coat over the bahia seed which will then help it grow i kind of want to throw some up in the air not at the ground there you go [Music] hey i don't know if i told you [Music] [Music] you pull me up when i'm falling down [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
