if you see this front crv knuckle doesn't work there's going to be an integral project for sale soon back at it right but this time i got my my ace mechanic tony with me and tony's gonna help me out we're gonna there's two things that we're gonna have to do to this tony's gonna take these off the rear trailing arms the rear because i have these new trailing arms five lug conversion and it's got the crv hub so i can put the axles in it go to do the four wheel drive stuff ready tone i'm ready tone's always ready [Music] my man tony made quick work out of that tone so what's the next step tone start putting on yours yo honda's are the best cars in the world if hana if you're watching this i need i really need the new nsx yeah right okay i started doing the carpet as i said earlier i was gonna dye it because every time i buy aftermarket carpet it never fit it'd always crap and then i fight with it for like hours and days the carpet in this car came in and it was gray because the interior of the car is great real ugly so i'm going to dye this carpet how am i going to do that i bought some dye you're supposed to dunk the whole fabric or whatever you're doing into the die but it's carpet i can't do that i filled up a spray bottle with some hot water some dye and then i'm spraying it on i started already and then i realized i forgot to film it i'm gonna do that really quick hopefully it works i've never done this before it's worth a shot [Music] i sprayed it again for the second time because the first time it was still kind of like you can see through the gray it was purplish but i sprayed it again and this is how it came out i think it came out pretty damn good short beats buying shitty 400 aftermarket carpet that you got to fight to fit carpet is back in looks pretty damn good considering it's 20 worth of dye to finish off the interior i put these panels back because i do want to run interior panels and then i'm going to make some sort of tray in the back to kind of cover up the rear seats because doing a rear seat delete before these panels go back in i got to fill these holes right here car has a body side molding you take the body side moldings there's holes where the clips go in eventually i want to get these off and then have the car painted i'm going to put a cage in here so it's gonna be super hard to get the panel back in and the right way to fill these holes is to take a piece of metal from behind pull it up and then weld it then grind it down and put a little bundle on top of it you can't just bundle over the hole because eventually it would just crack and fall off [Music] [Music] hmm done obviously there's a crater there but fill that with a little body filler a little right there sand it over and it's good it's solid it's metal this is the new trailing arm setup it is a factory arm was modified by my buddy jason over at fcs what he does is he welds these tabs in and kind of makes a little room for the axle right look at that does an awesome job it's powder coated best part is i didn't have to make anything and i know it's going to work the only thing that i have to do now is replace that bushing so i got these urethane ones and the urethanes ones replace the factory they're the factory rubber is pretty crappy they're they're just kind of like attached in two places and they always break get the old one out press it out of the arm get the sleeve that used to go here because it needs that steel sleeve and the center it's going to take a bit of work [Music] though [Music] hey [Music] these this really sucked to do you have to clean the old one and then grind away all the old rubber just to get this casing and the pin but it's done the magic of editing right they only took a second that really took about an hour [Music] i screwed it up pretty good bent it after all that work i screwed up on the press and bent it there's no way of making it perfectly round again so i ordered a new one [Music] good waste of three hours all right back at it this time some new bushings so i'm gonna start with this one take the old one out put the new ones in because this one comes with the new casing here also comes with the new hardware hopefully i don't screw this one up [Music] all right that's done bushings are in time for lower control arms stock one new ones new ones are billet aluminum these are spherical bearings in all three joints so real precise no more rubber bushings see they're in there this is a really cool design it has an o-ring on here to protect it once you get that in the o-ring kind of seals it steals it from dirt and whatnot there's no protection against dirt heim joints are great for race car stuff real precise no weird movements the only problem is when dirt gets in here a little bit of grime road grime it wears away at the heim joints so every so often you got to take them apart clean them i'm lazy i don't like doing that stuff so my solution is this right here these are little heim joint boots to find these anywhere so you put that over here now it's sealed keeps the dirt out [Music] all right real quick psa here i bought these little cheap upper uh rods here and this controls camber in the rear what i mean cheap really cheap stuff this is the stock one say the stock one is not adjusted if you lower it you have to lengthen it out so fix the camber the bushings are probably gonna last i don't know 1000 miles at best because look at it yeah i mean like already you could see it deflect and kind of rotate itself inside there it's it's not going to last don't buy cheap just buy good beginning i'm going to leave it on for temporarily until i can get some new ones then i'll change it out [Music] mushy [Music] done suspensions in i got the bc coilovers in the trailing arm is in the lower control arm is all done time to move on to some brakes if you notice now it's five lug i kind of want to do the type r thing so i converted the rear to five lug and one of the main reasons was because the type bar has bigger brakes and i'm gonna be driving this thing on the street i'm going to be tracking it brakes always help i got the bigger type r rotors and i also got the hawk pads which are for the street this is going to be my street setup but once i get to the track i'm going to probably switch out to a little bit more aggressive pad the only reason i did this is there's low dust i hate cleaning wheels and at the same time i'm doing stainless brake lines because i'm already at it right caliper lines pads rotor super easy before anybody says anything i know the bleeder is on upside down this is an rsx caliper to get a type r rear caliper it's like impossible i went on some forms and they said this kind of works it's just right here that the bleeder is upside down so when you go to bleed it ideally you take it off and then bleed it and then put it back on the parking brake still works that's the only downfall right there if anybody else is doing this that's what you use rsx type s caliper rear suspense is done five lug in the rear is converted it's done the new brake line is on i kind of had to zip tie the brake line because this is a all-wheel drive and it's you can't have it hang in the middle of it because there is going to be an axle so it's got to be up and over out of the way i'm not doing the the rear diff yet i'm going to make it roll and drive without the four-wheel drive first i do like this thing in stages right because i hate having a car up on jack stands forever and not running so so the next step is the front i already stripped the hubs i got new bearings new hub we're gonna be mismatching some parts i'll tell you what works what doesn't work problems crv five lug the integra four lug this is way bigger the overall height of it is the same that's the same the diameter is different one of the reasons i went crv is this is a 36 mil i wanted the bigger axle where this is 32 less likely to break them but the internet failed me they said crv will press into an integra it doesn't i guess i'm going to turn it down on the little lathe crv hubs do not fit into integra knuckles as you can see over here runs pretty smooth but as soon as you clamp down the axle it pushes the hub into the knuckle so it just kind of seizes it up is it possible to put crv hubs into an integral knuckle absolutely if you machine it correctly it is possible i know where it went wrong i'm not going to do it again and i'm going to get crv knuckles tomorrow and just call it quits now time to put that transmission into here not a big deal should take a couple hours hopefully it all goes well [Music] [Music] old new automatic 5-speed front-wheel drive all-wheel drive this is the new crv transmission it is a five speed so it's got the shifty cables it's got the clutch got the flywheel it's got starter on it i'm gonna disassemble this just to make it a little lighter cause i'm by myself and i gotta i kind of gotta jack it up line it and put it in all by myself so i'm gonna make this thing as light as possible i'm gonna take off some of the accessories like the starter and the all-wheel drive stuff and all the shift linkages and stuff yeah that's pretty much it it should bolt directly on a couple little things here and there like i gotta make a mount because there's no such mount i was really really hoping that i could reuse this clutch for a little while that's not the case this clutch is dead i'm not buying a performance one just yet stock replacement clutch it's gonna go in and just kind of have the whole car neutral get a feel for the all-wheel drive stuff figure out my suspension what kind of sway bars i need you know what kind of shocks and spring rates i need if i put a performance clutch in it now it's just going to be a waste of time because it's all going to come back out again when i turbo it so i'm going to do the turbo and the clutch and uh another time keeping it as stock as possible i don't have any weird pedal feels or anything just to put it in perspective usually soupy's workspace is really really clean this is how you know he's struggling he looks kind of like scatter right now for real i'm like although i feel like i was like over here over there just do the interior do the clutch that's why i was like this sucks all right i'm gonna get back to work i need to get this car back on the ground before we move [Music] the transmission is in it's all bolted together i put the starter and i did the clutch slave there so the next step is to do this transmission mount this being an automatic different transmission mount doesn't fit so i'm gonna have to make one i already made the plate drill the holes so it's ready to go and what i'm gonna do is take the bushing that i screwed up on the trailing arm and use that as the bushing for the motor mount see should work [Music] i machine these little pieces here right on both sides because the bushing wasn't quite big enough for the mount now i just got to attach that to that plate [Music] trailing arm bushing machine down some sleeves and then at the same time made into like spacers because cut some steel weld it together and it's done transmission mount seeing how this car is 20 plus years old these mounts are probably due for some replacement fortunately i don't have to make them passport already does i'm going to install the mounts they also make a t-mount is for the all-wheel drive system so i don't have to make that either i'm going to change out these two mounts which are there and there then we're going to have some uh upgraded mounts i don't have to worry about too much engine movement [Music] mounts are in and the back ones in so now they're urethane mounts which are a lot stronger than the factory ones because you see here see that see how flimsy the stock rubber ones are your things hold up a lot better next thing on the list is this shifter cable here cables are in and i had to do a couple of things move the heater hose i kind of blocked that one because i don't have a heater core anyway so and i took the thermostat housing off welded the other end to it and that's the new clutch line right there right now it shifts that's what the new linkage looks like i'm gonna keep going and put some axles in and then new hubs almost there i went out and gotten crv stuff so that is straight out of a crv uh just hopefully it's all good and i'm just gonna stick it in the car if you see this front crv knuckle doesn't work there's gonna be an integral project for sale soon [Music] the integra is not for sale it fits yes crv whole knuckle 36 millimeter splines rsx type s axles type r front rotor which apparently is the same as crv and for calipers i'm using a two piston this is from an acura legend it fits and they're gonna go on change the brake line and the front is done as you can tell from the crazy hair beautiful manicured hands it has been a long day and i'm done and i'm gonna get the car back down on the ground and then next week and probably start on the interior and then should be a running car again yes
