August TBR Game - 🔥Ring of TBR🔥 - S1E2 - the positivity round 🥰

welcome back to another video i'm ivy and today i'm gonna give you my august ring of tbr [Music] very excited to do this again we've just had a heat wave followed by right now a thunderstorm but there's a break and there is sun and the light is partly good so i'm filming while i can august is a month of many things i got a week left of july and last month's ring of tbr i picked sixth book because i got one double and with a week left to go i am currently reading three of the last ones two of them are definitely gonna finish one of them i'm tempted to dnf i mean i don't like the writing i'm on page 47 and i'm so bored like so bored so i will finish i yet to figure out exactly if i'm gonna have punishments or not like a part of me is like no no don't do that you don't want to it's gonna cause too much problems for you especially if you are in a slump just don't do it and another part of me goes yay make it even more difficult so i haven't decided yet as you can tell for august i have several reading plans i have four i need to tell you about first of all i have three review copies due this month i have phoenix extravagant by june harley i think it is velvet was tonight by silva morena gazia and the switch is the switch or just switch by a.s king so those three i need to fit in somehow into this round of tbr on top of this i also have to make sure that i pick at least one tbr that from a physical shelf and one tbr from my ebook shelf because that's part of my monthly goals for this year and i really need to do this thirdly our office book club meet is in august at some point i haven't made the details for that date yet but we know the book and i haven't read it yet so i'm hoping i'm going to be reading it before the meeting fingers crossed it is the fair fight by anna freeman it's about female boxers in georgian bristol in the uk which is apparently a thing not specifically in bristol or southwest but generally in georgian times i don't know it could be interesting i'm not a major historical fiction book though i didn't vote for this so i should enjoy it i should like it right and then the fourth thing is that there is potential for another round of timetable in august i have yet to see any notifications announcement hints anything at the time of filming i bet you there's going to be something up by the time i actually upload this but as far as i know right now there is no announcements but it is tradition for there to be timetable in august so i'm anticipating that and i want to read shorter books on my tbr because i would like to make a separate tbr for timetable i think so i got my notes i've got my rules because i can't remember what the rules were apart from the physical rules i got my wine yes rosa let's play let's clear last month's stack of cards and make room for august cards picking five cards again this month so let's pick the first one so the first one i drew was ten is that that's not clubs diamonds this is one of the things that i really struggle with first year in uni i'm learning the suits in english this is diamond which kind of makes sense now i've forgotten what it is in norwegian yay so the 10 is oh tbr of ebooks this will cover the old ebook situation i can't reach i'm wearing jeans like the first time in like over a year and i don't understand how i used to be able to move in these things they're not very accommodating oh i feel like i've had a hip replacement ebook jar don't waste my wine thank you burke tbr jar is purely for my ebooks there is a oh no i just remembered some of the books in my jar of doom is also in my tbr jar i think i have i probably didn't say this out loud because i might jinx it but i have the first stormlight archive in here that's a thousand pages it would be good though because this is termed up a month so maybe it is perfect timing like i'm i'm glad that this might be an option i think am i i don't know okay sip let's draw there are three sheets of a4 paper in here kind to pieces so i do not know what i'm going to get there are some classics one of the you know the free ones fancy non-fiction i didn't put all the writing non-fiction in here but yeah let's do this one let's see if you can read my writing a thousands apprentice assassin's apprentice that's quite lucky though because i also have a physical copy of that so that will be both an ebook vat and a tbr that because i have it right here come on i've been meaning to read this for a very long time and i've been watching people doing the um elderly along for 92 392 i mean and i've been like oh i really should participate but they're now in like third trilogy or something like that and i was like i can't just keep up i'm starting you probably all know what this is about but it is basically it's a kingdom on the brink of civil war and the crown prince has fathered a bastard's son so the crown prince is shamed into abdication and the child's name is fits we i think we follow fit the bastard son he's raising the castle's stables and only the company of the king's fool a ragged children of the lower city and his unusual affinity with animals provide fits with any comfort he wants to be useful to the crown so he's trained as an assassin and uses the traditional magic of the phrase of family farser faster family but his tutor allied with another political faction is determined to discredit even kill him fitz might survive for he may be destined to save the kingdom i mean who doesn't want to read that this is my first book for august this is a great start okay okay let's try again the next row is an ace and we all know what that means i can just wear it on because i'm ace yeah great excellent i think i might either make this as a mood read i think i think i'm gonna make it as a mood read yes mood read i'm choosing mood reading cheesy mood read okay let's pick again [Music] oh i got my first joker this means someone else is gonna be picking my reads and i know who i'm gonna ask and i think i think i'm gonna make a collage of four that's three ivy or four different graphic novels that's available on the library app and from there i have her just choose one i think because it's thumbs up a month i'm gonna try and keep that this one a short one and give her graphic novels suggestions so insert scream catching of that because and i've probably already shown you that so that's what i'm reading from my joker my first ever joker who knew let's draw again next one is a queen and that is a female protagonist and i have to choose something that contains a female protagonist and that could well be the book club book a fair fight i still need to get a copy it's not on the library apps i've noticed i can either buy it online or i think audible has an ebook version no a audible audible has an audiobook version it came out in like 2014 2015 2013 something like that so it's not that readily available and i am in the mood for audiobooks i think i might go for audible on this on this option let me write all this down because otherwise i'll forget i could have chosen a valve that was tonight or valve it was night i still have to put on all my review copies okay let's go for the last one and hope that there is no doubles because so far it looks like there's not going to be any did i just jinx it it's a night what is a night overly specific prompt oh that's a good thing because i updated that list this morning how do i do that do i randomize my prompt but i have a lot of prompts i'm copying all the prompts that i have and paste all of those in shuffle again and then delete the first page and then shuffle and then delete again and i hope oh yeah there we go one two three four five six seven eight nine ten options let's ben this is my last books let's see hopefully get something good oh research with a hobby this is basically going to be a book that features someone who has a hobby and i don't know any books pictures of main character with a hobby okay good grades always nothing on here the girl and the dinosaur i saw this in the library up the other day [Music] it's got some really good reviews oh it's about a girl who digs for dinosaur bones [Music] as a hobby [Music] oh that's a really good option thanks waterstones that'd be great i'm gonna choose i'm gonna choose the girl with the dinosaur the girl and the dinosaur the girl and the dinosaur by holly hughes a masterpiece of storytelling with evocative and stunning industrial illustrations destined to be read for years to come that sounds great the wishing stars burned bright tonight the airs thick with dreams and a deeply sleeping dinosaur is waking up it seems oh is it this going to rhyme oh that would be great it is a children's book but hey her dinosaurs geologist huh in a town by the seaside marian is often seen foraging on the beach but she isn't playing with children her own age instead marianne is alone and digging for dinosaur bones was my first pick my second pick is my mood read i give it whatever i want whenever i want it the third pick was to joker and i've picked this one which i have yet to figure out what actually is it might be surprised for me did i not pick a queen what oh no i did pick one oh yeah a fair fight the fair fight a fair fight the fair fight for anna freeman and then lastly the goblin dinosaur and that's my tbr for august excluding tome topple so that's pretty much it for this before you go i am looking for a specific type of book and i'm hoping you could help me i want recommendations in the comments below for books that contains gardening but it has to be a fantasy or science fiction book preferably i'm like the main character to be the one who does all the gardening so is it a magic book but they grow things for using potions or the magic ability is growing things like in wild beauty by anne marie mclemore or maybe it's a science fiction book where they are encountering some wildlife or they are growing food on the space station something like that if you've read any books like that please tell me i i want to know and then i'll see you in the next one happy reading
